Passed peacefully away at Bonavista Hospital, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, Mildred Freeman, age 64. Predeceased by her husband Allan; Father Wilfred; Mother Printzline. Leaving to mourn, sonsWayne (Jennifer) and Darrell (Krystal), and daughter Wanda; Grandchildren Maggie, Arron and Kyle; Four brothers; Two sisters and a large circle of relatives and friends.Funeral was held at St. Clement's Anglican Church, Champney's West, on Friday, March 30. Passed away at the Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, Gerald White of Clarenville, formerly of Trinity, T. Bay, aged 84 years. Predeceased by wife Grace; sister Hilda Fowlow and brothers Maxwell and Arthur. Left with fond and loving memories are his son Peter (Elizabeth); daughter Christine (Eric); grandsons Ian (Sherry) and David (Stephanie); great grandchildren Kyle, Cole, Camryn and Jesse; sister Margaret Spurrell; sisters-in-law Florence White and Edith Toope; brothers-in-law Eli Toope and Doug Toope (Olive); and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Monday, April 2, 2012 at the Anglican Church, Trinity, T. Bay with interment at Anglican Cemetery, Trinity, T. Bay.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and dear friend from Bonavista. Una, age 87, on Monday, March 26, 2012 at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital Clarenville. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Laura Belle Pardy, Husband Jeremiah "Jerry", daughter Barbara, son Tom, brothers Ben, Alex, Thomas, Kirby, Frank, Jack and sister-in-law Gladys. She will be sadly missed by her son Mike (Sylvia), daughter Catherine (Clyde) daughter Donna (Tony) Daughter Geri (Fred), son Edward (Fran), daughter-in-law Joan, brother Rance (Marlene), sisters-in-law Ella, Marjorie, Dora and Pearl, 12 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and special friends. Donations to the Children's Wish Foundation, Janeway Children's Hospital or the charity of your choice. She is interred at the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Bonavista.
Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you there.

Predeceased by husband Charles, son Roger and grandson Jamie. Left with fond and loving memories are her children Judy (Ray), Austin (Frances), Irving (Betty), Lois (Garland), Randy, Marie (Gerald), Kevin (Judy), Dale (Ian), Dean (Rose), Roxanne (Howard) and Darren (Lisa); 26 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; sisters Winnifred Quinton, Rhodena Holloway (Herman) and Eva Penney; brother Don Diamond (Rosalind) and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service took place on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at the United Church, Lethbridge with interment at United Cemetery, Brooklyn.

Gordon Boyd Ford

Passed suddenly away at his residence on Monday March 26, 2012 Gordon Boyd Ford of Charlottetown in his 79th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Annie, sons: Randy and wife Linda of Keswick, Ont. Glen and girlfriend Suzanne of St. John's, daughter Carolyn Byrne and husband Paul of Hamilton, Ont. Grandchildren: Rebecca, Kyle, Jessica and Jeremy, sisters: Emma Abbott (Melvin), Anne Colbert (Walter) and Ethel Chaulk plus a large circle of other family and friends. Pre-deceased by parents Annie and Hector, brothers: William and Hedley and sister Josie. Funeral service was officiated by Candidate Daniel Kelly on Thursday March 29, 2012 from Salvation Army Church Charlottetown with internment following at Charlottetown Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Kyle Ford, Dave Ford, Kevin Ford, Paul Byrne, Rick Chatman, Fred Nicholl, Lawrence Reid, Dennis Chaulk. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Blundon's Funeral Home -Shoal Harbour

Douglas Baird
Passed on: March 22nd, 2012

Passed peacefully away at the G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Thursday, March 22, 2012, Douglas Baird of Hodge's Cove. Predeceased by his wife Ivy in September 2011, his guardians George and Sarah Thomas, and four brothers and sisters. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his children Audrey Baird (Jerome Tobin), George, and Donna Whalen (Rick), Douglas, Jr. (Jennifer), and Sharlene; grandchildren Matthew, Troy, MacKenzie, Daniel and Sophie; brother Gerald and niece Allison King and family, as well as a large circle of family and friends. Rested at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Hodge's Cove. Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 25, 2012. Officiated by Rev. Jessie Broaders, Deacon Rev. Myrna Vey and lay reader Mr. Jim Peddle. Glenda Edith (Edwards) Drover
Passed on: March 26th, 2012

Passed peacefully away on Monday, March 26, 2012 at GB Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, NL. Born in Ship Harbour, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ursula (Hartlen) Edwards. Besides her parents she was also predeceased by her husband Robert, son Scott and daughter Roberta (Bobbi) and sister Dorothy. Leaving to mourn her son Derek (Shanna), daughter-in-law Sandra, brothers Bill, Amelia (Millie), Ken, (Jean), Bob (Clara) and sister Sheila, special grandchildren, Benjamin (Kelly) and Julie (Denis) and Nanny's little man Dylan also many nieces , nephews, cousins and her much loved extended family Ed, Rosalyn, Joshua and Heather Blackwood. Anyone who ever had the pleasure of knowing Glenda will remember her for her witty ways, and her big heart. She was involved in her own community, and the Royal Canadian Legion in Clarenville, and was always honored and had great joy to be involved in the annual poppy fund. Sunnyside has lost a very caring person who truly believed that we should love our neighbours as ourselves. She shared what she had with anyone whose need she felt greater than her own. She loved her church and all who entered its doors. She truly was an inspiration to all of us. One of her wishes would be that all of those whom she knew and loved will continue to live together in peace and harmony with each other, with our families, with our friends, our neighbours and our God. Rested at St. Andrew's Church, Sunnyside, T. Bay, NL. Funeral service held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at St. Andrew's Church, Sunnyside, T. Bay, NL. Contributions can be made in her memory to St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Sunnyside, T.Bay, NL, or charity of one's choice.

Reginald Bursey Pretty

Passed peacefully away on March 6, surrounded by his family and friends, Reginald Bursey Pretty of Clarenville, age 61 years. Left with loving memories are his wife of 40 years, Grace (Burt), sons, Greg (Carol), Stephen (Gale), daughter, Heather Morrissey (Neil), sweet granddaughter, Jane Pretty; two sisters, Major Melva Elliott (Hector-deceased), Major Joan (Roland) Murphy; father-in-law Aubrey Burt (Mona -deceased); brothers and sisters-in-law: Mary Profit (Larry -deceased); Dennis Burt (Ivy), Donna Wells (Marvin); Bonita Pelley (Darrell) as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends. Private funeral service took place at Barrett's Chapel, Mount Pearl on Saturday, March 10. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in Clarenville at a later date to celebrate his teaching career, musical talents, and community involvement. Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Thursday, April 5, 2012, Donald Strong Sr. of George's Brook formerly of Clarenville, aged 80 years. Predeceased by his parents Herbert & Annie and five brothers. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Nita of 58 years; daughters Charmaine (Karlis) Zemitis, Theresa (Gerry) Rideout, Trudy (John) Burge, Faye (Harold) Ploughman; son Donny (Jeanette); 17grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; sisters Jean Tilley, Rona Baker; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Sunday, April 8, 2012 from the United Church, Shoal Harbour with interment at the United Cemetery, Church Hill, Clarenville. In his memory donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NL.

Predeceased by husband Pearce; parents Bert and Addie Simmonds; baby brother Charles. Left with fond and loving memories her sons Jamie and Jason (Trina); grandchildren Kelsey, Taylor, Jared and Kendra; sisters Neta (Ray) Layden, Dorothy Osmond, Ruby (Ronn) Lansdell; brothers Alvin (Jose) Simmonds, Maurice (Fern) Simmonds, Cecil (Emma) Simmonds and Ronald (Mary) Simmonds; and a large circle of family and friends. Predeceased by his wife, Isabelle Francis; brothers, Robert (Clara), Tom (Fannie), William, Andy (Susie), Theodore and sisters, Jean (Lewis) Greening and Martha (Robert) Holloway. Leaving to mourn his son, Scott (Dale) Keats, daughters, Melvina (David Hunt), Daisy (Tony) Stagg; brothers, Frank (Annie), Edgar (Mable deceased); sisters, Edith (George) Chatman, Minnie; two grandchildren, Toni Stagg, Randy (Janet) Andrews; great grandson, Eathan Andrews and a large circle of other family and freinds. Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital on Thursday, April 19, 2012, Lillian Parsons, age 78. Lillian leaves to mourn her ten children, Kirk, Harold, Anita, Bob (Michelle), Fred, Evelyn (Donald), George (Sandra), Bill (Hilda), Kay (Wayne), Marina (Gary), as well as twenty-two grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Also leaving to mourn sister Eileen, brothers Leslie (Millicent), John, and Randell (Dorothy). The funeral service took place from the Grace United Church, Hillview, officiated by Pastor Glenn G. Jarvis, on Wednesday, April 25th, 2012, with interment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Robin Dewling of Shoal Harbour announces his passing on Wednesday April 18, 2012 at G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville at the age of 70 years. Born at Champney's East, Robin was the son of the Late Nellie and Raymond Dewling. He was also pre-deceased by his brothers John, Bill and Eddie as well as Roger. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his loving wife of 33 years Ruby, sons Paul of Ontario, Raymond of Grand Falls and Justin (Teri-Lynn) of Clarenville, sisters; Charlotte (Fred), Corrine, and Grace (Harry), brothers; Tom (Leomay), George (Sheila), and Edmund (Marion), grandchildren; Bradley and Brielle plus a large circle of other family and friends. In honor of Robin's wishes cremation has taken place. A private family interment took place on Sunday April 22 at Clarenville Interdenominational Cemetery. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Martha of 47 years; daughter Madonna (Donnie Smith); grandson Christopher (Harmony Hubley); and a circle of family and friends.
