Frank Stephen Pardy
Passed Away On: 31/03/2011
Pardy, Frank Stephen
- 83, of Bridgewater, NS (formerly of Bonavista, NL) passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, NS. Born on July 11, 1927 in Bonavista, he was a son of the late Thomas and Laura (Mouland) Pardy. Like many Newfoundlanders, Frank moved to Ontario and worked for several years as a machine operator at a paper products manufacturing firm. Realizing that there comes a time to return to his roots, he returned home to Bonavista and worked at the Newfoundland Liquor Commission until he retired. Frank accepted people as they are; his warm smile conveyed this enjoyment of others and others were drawn to him. Frank did not expect or ask much of others yet he was always quick to be there for them. He handled illness, his wife's and his own, by putting his best foot forward and, with a smile, doing what had to be done. He set the bar high for courage and devotion. Frank is survived by his wife Adylies; brother Rance (Marlene), ON; sister Una O'Connell, NL; stepson Owen (Cecilia) Tremblett, stepdaughter Olga (Michael) Fowler, Bridgewater, NS; Step-grandchildren, Dannette and Brenda and 3 step-great-grandchildren Mckenna, Ella and Zoey, Sisters-in-law Marjorie, Dora, Ella and Pearl as well as a large number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Ben, Tom, Alex, and Kirby, and first wife Gladys. Arrangements entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater. In keeping with Frank's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. A private burial will take place in Bonavista, NL at a later time. Donations may be made to the Salvation Army, the Canadian Red Cross or the charity of your choice.
