IVANY, Silas - It is with great sadness the family of Silas Ivany, age 88, resident of Miraquinn Hilltop Manor, Hickman's Harbour, passed into eternal rest at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on March 25, 2007. Predeceased by parents: William and Susie Ivany, brother: Rayfield, sisters: Effie, May and Yvonne: wives: Sarah (Langer), Ella (Gover) and Maye (Oake) and two infant children. Leaving to mourn daughter, Effie (Vincent Bryant), grandchildren, Catherine, Lloyd and Michelle; brother: Gerald; nephews: Calvin and Fred, niece, Heather; brother-in-law: Samuel Langer (Myrtle), nephew Robert, niece, Wanda; step-family members and other relatives and friends. Rested at Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island. The funeral service, officiated by Captains Wilfred and Wavey Simms, assisted by Lieuts. Randy and Diane Kirby and Pastor Carl Earle, took place from the Salvation Army, Hickman's Harbour on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 with interment following at the Salvation Army cemetery, Lower Lance Cove.

PENNEY, Llewellyn (July 31, 1931-March 23, 2007) - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on March 23, 2007, Llewellyn Penney of Canning's Cove in his 75th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Irene; sons Harold (Jackie) of Ottawa, Ontario, Lou (Karen) of Dartmouth, NS; daughters Ruby (Serge) Brousseau of Winnipeg, Melita Bernardin (Edwin) of Winnipeg, MB; grandchildren Danny Penney and Marc Penney; sisters Evelyn Oilman, Stella (Norman) Chatman, Theresa Chatman and Jessie Jackman plus a large circle of other family and friends. Funeral service was officiated by Reverend Eric Squires from St. John The Devine Anglican Church, Canning's Cove on Thursday, March 29, 2007. Cremation has taken place. Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Blundon's Funeral Home, Shoal Harbour. PENNEY, Elsie Winnifred: Passed peacefully away at the Golden Heights Manor, Bonavista on March 28, 2007, Elsie Winnifred Penney, age 79, from Milton. Predeceased by parents, Alfred and Sarah Pippy, husbands, Leslie Verge and John Penney; sisters Mahala and Alfreda and brother, Joseph. Leaving to mourn are her sisters Rita, Jessie, Lizza, Ella (Arthur), Lucy, Rachel (Morris); brothers Augustus, George (Charlotte); nephew, Dennis (Juanita) and other relatives and friends. Rested at the St. Mary's Anglican Church, Burgoyne's Cove from where the funeral service, officiated by Reverend Jessie Broaders, assisted by Bernice Vokey, took place on Saturday, March 31, 2007 with interment following at the Anglican Cemetery, Old Bonaventure. Predeceased by wife Dorothy Irene. He will be sadly missed by his son Tony (Velma), granddaughter Candy Holloway (Deon); great-grandchildren Joshua, Lucas and Cheyanne; brother Gordon and many other relatives and friends. Rested at the St. John the Divine Anglican Church, Cannings Cove, from where the funeral service, officiated by the Reverend Isaac Hutchings, assisted by Mr. Sterling Benger, took place on Sunday, April 1, 2007 with interment following. BALE, Lynden Rene - Passed away suddenly at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Thursday, March 29, 2007, Lyn Bale of Monroe, aged 64 years. Predeceased by parents Fred and Jeannette, brother Gary and nephew Steve. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife Mary; daughters Tammy Gallant, Dartmouth, NS; Debbie Warren, Gander; Jennifer Lavigueur, Winnipeg and Naomi Cooper, Bedford, NS; brother Keith; sisters Sheila and Cheryl, all of Ontario; grandchildren Corey, Jamie, George, Stephanie, Carmen, Joey and Madylin; and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral mass held on Saturday, March 31, 2007 from Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, Clarenville with interment at Clarenville Interdenominational Cemetery.

AVERY, Annette - We regret the sudden passing of Annette Avery on March 28, 2007. At the tender age of 37 she leaves to mourn her dear husband and best friend, Norm Peach. Loving mother of Kendra, adored daughter of Eileen Avery and forever missed by sisters: Debbie Robbins and partner Avalon Drover, Tammy Ralph and brother-in-law Roy, Donna Spurell and brother-in-law Arthur; loved dearly by grandmother, Laura Stringer. Predeceased by father: Thomas Avery, brother: Cpt. Barry Avery and his wife Carolina and children Allissa and Brayden. She will also be missed and lovingly remembered by brothers-in-law: Calvin Peach and wife Dallas, Rick Peach and wife Brenda, Wayne Peach and wife Madonna, Sterling Peach and wife Colleen, Shawn Peach, Rodney Peach and wife Dayle, and sisters-in-law; Joyce and husband Edward Herridge, Linda and husband Murdock Hillier, Dorothy and husband Levi Lushman, Lisa Peach, Kelly Peach and partner Alvin, along with many nieces and nephews and an abundance of wonderful friends. The family received friends at the Scott Funeral Home "Brampton Chapel", 289 Main St. N. on Saturday, March 31, from 6-8 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral was held on Monday, April 2, 2007 in the Scott Funeral Chapel at 1 p.m.

VEY, Harry Kenneth: Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at the Health Science Centre, St. John's on March 26, 2007, Harry Kenneth Vey, age 69, of Queen's Cove. Predeceased by parents, Eric and Elsie (Dawe) Vey; brothers Warren and Lester and daughter, Sharon. Leaving to mourn his loving wife, Evelyn, daughter, Marilyn, son-in-law Raymond Warren and precious grandchildren Stacey and Kenny. Also left to mourn, brother Vern (Marie), Brantford, Ontario; sister Winnie (Herb Wall), Brantford, Ontario; sister-in-law Joan Vey, Corner Brook; along with many nieces and nephews and other relatives. Rested at the St. Aidan's Anglican Church, Queen's Cove from where the funeral service, officiated by Reverend Nelson Chatman, assisted by Reverend Myrna Vey, took place on March 29, 2007 with interment following. Donations can be made to the Children's Wish Foundation. Harry was a very loving, gentle and kind man who will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. GREENING, Hubert - Passed peacefully away at his home on Tuesday, April 3, 2007, Hubert A. Greening of Port Blandford, aged 67 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Joan of 45 years; daughters Gena (Tom Vornbrock), Yellowknife, NT and Glenda (Vincent Fudge), Brampton, ON; sons Gary (Rose), Grant (Jennifer) and Gordie (Mimi), all of Yellowknife, NT; brother Wallace (Jean), Gander; grandchildren Jenny, Cassandra, Vanessa, Jarrett and Angela; great-granddaughter Alyssa; mother-in-law Dulcie Holloway; sisters- in-law Doris Holloway and Marion McLaughlin and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rested at Alton United Church, Port Blandford. Funeral service held on Friday, April 6, 2007 from Alton United Church, Port Blandford with interment at United Cemetery, Port Blandford.

KING, Olive: Passed peacefully away at G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital on Friday, April 6, 2007, Olive King in her 72nd year, of St. Jones Within. Predeceased by her parents Heber and Alice King; one brother George; two sisters Nellie and Florance. Leaving to mourn one loving daughter Diane (Ian); and a very loyal and loving partner Roy Smith; four brothers Bert (Arlettie), Gilbert (Audrey), Chesley (Rosalind), Gordon (Maxine); sister-in-law Lorraine; one aunt, Effie Price, Gander, NL and a very large circle of nieces and nephews. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rested at the United Church, St. Jones Within from where the funeral service, officiated by Reverend G. Jarvis, took place on Sunday, April 8, 2007 with internment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

Predeceased by parents Matthew and Rebecca and three children. Leaving to mourn are her children; Ross (Marie), Rebecca (Albert), Lindsay (Mereda), Melvin (Ruby), Hayward (Ida), Jocelyn (Baxter); 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; sisters Annie, Leonie, Joanna and Doreen and also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Vardy's Funeral Home. The funeral service, officiated by Reverend Jessie Broaders, took place on Sunday, April 8th from the All Saints Anglican Church, Petley with interment following.

DUCEY, Leo Patrick from Duntara, Bonavista Bay. Loving husband and best friend of Heidi. Adoring father to Tina (Peter) Michael (Sherry), Jason, John, Mary-Lee (Frank), Cathy, Patricia, Theresa (Michael), Robert (Janitsa). Grandfather to 24 beautiful grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Veronica Ducey, brother Tom, aunts Julia and Jane, uncle Pat, and other family members. Survived by sister Mary Campbell. Special thanks and appreciation to Tom and Hilda Ducey and Joan Power for all of their love and support during his illness. Also thanks to Dr. Brushett, Dr. Tompkins, and Dr. Ibrahim. Service to be announced. Cremation has already taken place. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in his memory will be appreciated.

MARCH, Eric Vincent: November 2, 1929-April 14, 2007; passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on Saturday, April 14, 2007, Eric Vincent March formerly of Random Island in his 77th year. Leaving to mourn son Jim (Cindy) of Harcourt; granddaughter Adriana; daughter Arlene (Mike Cook) of Elliott's Cove, grandson Daniel; sisters-in-law Blanche and Irene Dalton of Harcourt and Jean Kless of Montreal; brother-in-law Colin McKay, Newmarket, Ontario; nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Left to mourn with warm memories are her daughters Yvonne (Peter) Godfrey and Charlene, Clarenville; grandchildren Robyn Godfrey, Stratford, ON and Dianne (Dennis) White, Gander; sisters Charlotte Newman, Florida, Louise Stead and Barbara Saint, Musgravetown; brother Levi (Olive), Clarenville; sisters-in- law Asenath, St. John's and Verley, Musgravetown and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
