Leaving to mourn her husband Belcher of 62 years; daugh­ter Loretta (Lloyd) at Lethbridge; sons Larry (Yvonne) at Musgravetown and Rick (Linda) at Musgravetown; step-sis­ter Jean Rowsell at Port Blandford; Aunt Drucella King at Badger's Quay; grandchildren Darrell Waye, Lori Pitcher, Lisa Greening, Tina Greening and Corey Greening; great-granddaughter Lauryn Pitcher; and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service held on Friday, April 2, 2004, from Heritage United Church, Musgravetown, with interment at United Cemetery, Musgravetown. In her memory, donations may be made to Heritage United Church.

 

DAY, Eugenie - Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on Tuesday, March 30, 2004, Eugenie Day of Musgravetown in her 97th year. Predeceased by her husband Mark (1986) and son Mac (1945). Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons Calvin (Mamie) at St. John's and Austin (Shirley) at St. John's; sister Sophie Oldford at Golden Heights Manor, Bonavista; grandchildren Jackie Nurse, Robert Day, Mac Day, Keith Day and Jeff Day; great-grandchildren Andrea and Nicholas Nurse and Emily and Martha Day; and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service held on Friday, April 2, 2004, from St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Trinity East, with interment at the Anglican Cemetery.

Predeceased by her husbands Eugene Guy and Walter Hynes, son Edward Guy and brothers Wilfred and Gordon Peach. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Melrose of 26 years; daughters lnez (Harry Chapman) at St John's, Effie (Lloyd Wareham) at Arnold's Cove and Joyce (James Vaters) at South Brookfield, NS; sons Gordon Guy (Kathy) at Bellville, ON, Wayne Guy (Karen) at Trenton, ON, Reginald Guy (Linda) at Ottawa, ON, Ronald Guy (Juanita) at Ottawa, Ontario, and Rodney Hynes (Tanya) at Arnold's Cove; sister Effie (Richard Slade) at Arnold's Cove; sister-in-law Adella Peach at Arnold's Cove; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a large circle of family and friends. BALLETT, Sterling - Passed  peacefully April 2, 2004, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer, Sterling Ballett of Port Rexton, aged 62 years. Left with loving  memories his sisters Shirley Ballett, Pearl (Bob Johnson) and Phyllis (Bill Hayward); brother Gerald (Dawn); nieces and nephews Sterling, Janice, Billy, Lee and Aryn; as well as a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Port Rexton. Funeral service held on Monday, April 5, 2004, from Anglican Church, Port Rexton, with interment at Anglican Cemetery, Port Rexton.

 

COOPER: It is with great sadness the family of the late Lewis Cooper, age 55, announce his passing at his home in Aspey Brook on April 6, 2004. Leaving to mourn with fond and lov­ing memories are his wife Joyce; sons Elvis (Wanda) and David (Paula); daughter Amanda; grandsons Jonathan, Jordan and Steven; two brothers; seven sisters; and a large number of nephews and nieces plus other relatives and friends. Rested at Vardy's Funeral Home, Hickman's Harbour. Funeral service, officiated by Mrs. Elsie Squires, took place on Friday, April    9, 2004, from Central United Church, Elliott's Cove. Lewis was laid to rest at the United Church Cemetery, Aspey Brook.

 COOK - Passed peacefully away at the Bonavista Hospital, Bonavista, on   Saturday, April 3, 2004, Evelyn G. Cook of Port Rexton age 88 years. Predeceased by hus­band Caleb and son Jim. Left with fond and loving mem­ories daughters      Sylvia Prince (Charlie) at Catalina, Mildred Cook (Harold) at Barrie, Ontario, and   Marie Granter(Harvey) at Mount Pearl; daughter-in-law Anne Cook at Mississauga, Ontario; sister Hazel Jenkins (Ray). at Mississauga, Ontario; brother Melvin Ploughman (Marie) at Grand Falls-Windsor; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Port Rexton. Funeral took place on Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at the Christ Church with interment at Anglican Cemetery in Port Rexton.

 

LONG: Passed away peacefully at the Health Science Complex, St. Jonn's, bn April 4, 2004, Robert Long, age 87, from Champney's East. Leavtng to moum with loving memories are his wife Margaret; three daughters Louisa (Nick), Florence (Len) and Darlene; three sons William (Alma), Albert (Lois) and Frank (Lovie); fifteen grand­children; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers Joe (Sally) at Champney's East and Heber at New Market, Ontario; one sister Emily Shears (George) at Ontario; and a large circle of friends. Rested at the Anglican Church, Champney's East, from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Gillam, took place on Thursday, April 8, 2004, with interment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Va rdy's Funeral Home, Random Island. Robert was a member of the Canadian Legion and the SUF. Donations in his mem­ory, may be made to the Anglican Church, Champney's East.

Minnie Cavell  Butt/Marsh (nee Penney) - Passed  peacefully away at the G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on April 1, 2004, Minnie Cavell Butt of Hickman's Harbour, formerly of Deer Harbour, aged 84 years. Predeceased by her husbands Albert Marsh (1980) and Lionel Butt (1993). Leaving to mourn daughter Eileen Martin (Wilfred); son Eric Marsh (Gladys); grand­children Christina Hynes (Kevin) and Rodney Marsh (Bonnie); great-grandchildren Erica Hynes and Andrew Hynes; a circle  of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his par­ents, James and Olive Reid; brother, Wilmore and sister -in-law, Margaret. Leaving to mourn his sis­ter, Jean Hillier at Hillview; brother, Roy at Shoal Harbour, and a large number of nieces, nephews and relatives.

 

HOLLOHAN, Shane Austin - Passed away suddenly at New Hamburg, Ontario, on April 4, 2004, Shane Austin Hollohan, formerly of Summerville, in his 32nd year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories infant son, Logan, born April 9, 2004; fiancee, Debbie Maseychuck and son, Jordan; parents, Austin and Bonnie; sister, Amanda; brothers, Corey and Stephen; nieces, Alexis, Brooke and Courtney; also a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, Kitchener, Ontario, and Saint Anne's Roman Catholic Church, Summerville. Funeral service was officiated by Father Hearn and Father Barker at the Roman Catholic Church, Plate Cove, on April 10, 2004, with interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Summerville. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Blundon's Funeral Home, Shoal Harbour.

 

RUSSELL, MillIcent - Passed peacefully away at Golden Heights Manor, Bonavista, on Thursday, April 8, 2004, Millicent Russell (nee Penney) of Lethbridge, aged 83 years. Predeceased by husband, Edward (1975) and brother, Issac (1975). Left with fond and loving memories daughter, Sheila Simmonds (Edward) at Lethbridge; sisters, Myrtle Peddle (Robert) at Lethbridge and Margaret Chislett at Lethbridge; brothers,  Leslie (Margaret) at Lethbridge, Dorman (Mary) at Lethbridge and Eric (Louise) at St. John’s, grandchildren, Angela and Trevor (Trina) both at Lethbridge; and a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service held on Monday, April 12, 2004, from the United Church, Lethbridge, with interment at the United Church Cemetery, Lethbridge. KING: It is with great sadness the family of the late Neta Gladys King, age 61, announce her passing at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on April 10, 2004. Neta was predeceased by her parents, John and Flora George and also by her brother, Otto. She leaves to mourn her husband, Jack; two daughters, Carolyn (Tom) and Shelly (Rick); three sons, Claude (Bev), Johnny (Deanne) and Stewart (Tracey). She will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Megan, Nicole, Renee, Tara, Tiffany and Tyler. She also leaves to mourn sisters, Donna (Lewis) Ivany and June Smith and brothers, Lloyd, Stan, Sterling (Shirley) and Gerald (Ruby). Neta will be sadly missed by her church family as well as by a large circle of family and friends. Rested at the United Church, Lady Cove, from where the funeral service, officiated by Mrs. Elsie Squires and assisted by Mr. Austin March and Pastor Rex Boone, took place on Monday, April 12, 2004. Neta was laid to rest at the United Church Cemetery, Lady Cove. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

Predeceased by husband James, daughter Evelyn Neil, sons Donald Holloway and Samuel Holloway. Leaving to mourn one daughter Olive Reid of Bunyan's Cove; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; and a circle of family and friends. Rested at St. Aiden's Anglican Church, Port Blandford. Funeral service held on Wednesday, April 21, 2004, from St. Aiden's Anglican Church, Port Blandford, with interment at Anglican Cemetery, Port Blandford.   

 

PENNEY: It is with great sadness the family of the late Dora Penney grieve the loss of a dearly beloved wife of Edgar, mother of Brian (Lynn), Beverley (Tony) and Stephen (April), sister of Sheila (Ivan), brother of Gregory (Ann), grandmother of Liam, Adam and Kailey. At the age of 65, she passed away at the Health Science Complex, St. John's, on April 13, 2004. Rested at the St. John The Divine Anglican Church, Cannings Cove, from where the funeral service, officiated by the Rev'd Nelson R. J.
