ELLIOTT, ETHEL MAUDE
(Formerly of Pacquet, NL)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ethel Maude Elliott, age 80, announce her passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Monday, October 3, 2011. Predeceased by her husband - Edgar Elliott; daughter - Sandra Notley; parents - Benjamin & Alice Brinston; siblings - Nelson Brinston, Walter Brinston and Hazel Brinston; parents-in-law - Tom & Hazel Elliott; siblings-in-law - Randolph Elliott and Malcolm Elliott. Left with fond and loving memories are her children - Juanita Greenham (Gordon), Pacquet, NL, Jeffrey Elliott (Janet), Triton, NL, and Shawn Elliott (Tia), Middle arm, NL; son-in-law - Wilfred Notley, Port Hope Simpson, NL; grandchildren - Laura Mitchell (Floyd), Tommy Elliott, Lorna Abbott (Jonathan), Laurel Greenham, Alisha Elliott, Ronald Elliott, Jarvis Elliott, Allison Elliott, Robin Elliott, Jadon Elliott, and Coby Elliott; great-grandchildren - Holly Mitchell, Dylan Mitchell, Patrick Elliott, Alexis Abbott, Carter Elliott and Mikayla Elliott; sister-in-law - Susie Brinston; many nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Christina Hague, assister by son - Pastor Jeffrey Elliott, conducted the funeral service at First United Church and Cemetery, Pacquet, NL on Thursday, October 6, 2011. Pallbearers were Jeffrey Elliott, Shawn Elliott, Tommy Elliott, Jarvis Elliott, Randy Elliott and Walter Brinston. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

FUDGE, EFFIE EVANGELINA
1917-2011

It is with sadness that the family of the late Ellie Fudge announce her passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on October 3, 2011 at the age of 93. Effie was a member of the Salvation army. Predeceased by her husband Joseph, 3 children, parents, brothers Raymond and Ronald and Sister Bertha Bridger. Left with fond and loving memories are her sons: Floyd (Bonnie), Glen (Caroline), Ambrose (Diane), Garry (Joann) and daughters: Marie (James Simms), Nina (Allister Roberts), Vivian (Alex Roberts), Joy (Wilbert Winsor) and Joan (Donald Budgell). Also leaving to mourn brother Ralph Fudge of Lewisporte; sisters, Clara, Mamie and Neta; 37 grand children, 40 great-great grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Majors Larry & Phyllis Fudge conducted the funeral service from the Salvation Army Citadel in Triton on October 7, 2011. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Brighton. Pallbearers were her sons: Floyd, Glen, Ambrose, Gerry; and grandsons Mitchell Lee & Kerry. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

PROWSE, MAVIS IDA
1946-2011

It is with sadness that the family of the late Mavis Prowse announces her passing on October 4, 2011 at the age of 65. She was born on August 26, 1946 in Langdon's Cove and married Leslie Prowse on January 19, 1962. Together they raised six children. She lived in Langdon's Cove for all of her life. She was a housewife and homemaker who loved her family very much and also lover her favourite hobby - using the sewing machine. She spent hours making quilts for her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Leslie, sons David & Dexter, as well as her brother Sidney. She leaves to mourn daughters Pansy (Sterling Freake), Harry's Harbour, Edna (Glen Newbury), Middle Arm, Wanda (Matthew Wallace), Cold Lake, AB, Pamela (Allan Achilles), St. John, NB, son Trevor (Rosalyn), Burlington, NL; 7 grandchildren & 3 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, 8 brothers, brother-in-law, Gordon. The funeral service took place on Friday, October 7, 2011 from Green Bay Funeral Home with Majors Rex& Catherine Paddock officiating. Interment followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Harry's Harbour. Pallbearers were April Hiscock, Trevor Prowse, Elmo Freake, Allan Achilles, Gordon Prowse, and Fred Norman. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gail Noel and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home.

SHEA, MARY ELLEN "NELL"
Grand Falls-Windsor, NL (formerly of Baie Verte, NL)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Ellen "Nell" Shea, age 94, announce her passing at the Carmelita House, Grand Falls-Windsor on Wednesday, October 5, 2011. Predeceased by her husband - Henry "Can" Shea in 1969 and two infant daughters - Eileen and Carmel. Left with fond and loving memories are her children - John Shea (Josephine), Baie Verte, NL, Gertrude Swanson (Gordon), Sarnia, ON, Mary Paddock (James), Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, Gerard Shea (Shirley), Baie Verte, NL, Madonna McQuitty (Craig), Royston, BC, Kathleen Ahrens (Gene), Arnprior, ON, Lorraine St.-Amand (Gerard), Elliott Lake, ON, Victoria McNeil (Brian), Middleton, NS, Kenneth Shea (Karyl), Centreville, NS; 26 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren;  many nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. The funeral mass was conducted at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Baie Verte, NL on Monday, October 10, 2011. Pallbearers were Tim Shea, Gerard Shea, Kenneth Shea, James Paddock, Gene Ahrens and Gerard St.-Amand and the crossbearer was John Shea. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

NEWMAN, ANDREW "Pearce"
(formerly of Triton, NL)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Andrew "Pearce" Newman, age 85, announce his passing at the Central Regional Health Care Center, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, on Sunday, October 16, 2011. Predeceased by his first wife - Flossie-Belle, second wife - Lovelett; daughter - Rosalie; parents - George & Rosalie Newman; son-in-law - Augustus Fudge; great-grandson - Michael Lush. Left with fond and loving memories are his children - Millicent Maye (George), Lewisporte, NL, Wilmore Newman (Cavell), Triton, NL, Sharon Fudge, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, Christie Smith (Alan), Labrador City, NL, Davidson Newman, Labrador City, NL; special friend - Nellie Wiseman, Springdale, NL; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; sister - Ethel Linfield; brother - William Winsor; many nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Jeffrey Elliott conducted the funeral service at Maranatha Pentecostal Church, Triton, NL on Wednesday, October 19, 2011. Interment followed at the Evergreen Cemetery, Triton. Pallbearers were Wilmore Newman, Davidson Newman, Georgie Newman, Jonah Newman, Alan Smith and Roy Williams. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

SHELLEY, STEPHEN
Peacefully, in Ottawa, surrounded by family, Monday, October 17, 2011, at the age of 65. Beloved husband of Philomena. Loving father of Daphine (Jeff), Rose (Kevin) and Stephen (Carol). Cherished grandfather of Guy, Gordon, Justin and Caleb. Will be fondly remembered by his brothers, sisters, other family and large circle of friends. Private Family Service. HANCOCK, FRANCIS MELVIN
1936-2011

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Francis Melvin Hancock announce his passing at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor on October 21, 2011 at the age of 75. Francis, a member of the Apostolic Faith Church, is predeceased by his wife Catherine and daughter Ruby. Left with fond and loving memories are his sons: Kenny (Norma) of Roberts Arm, NL, Neilson of Halifax, NS and Winston (Joleen) of Winnipeg, MB, and daughters: Lucinda and Levina both of Ignace, ON and Frankie (Paul) of St. Malo, MB. Also leaving to mourn are his brothers: Fred, Willie, Ford, Dennis and Kirby; sisters: Winnie, Yvonne, Lillian, Nancy and Barb; grandchildren: Sharmane, Faron, Tiffany, Morgan, Samantha, Mackenzie, Gracie, Jadzia, Svea and Chase; and great-grandchildren: Tyson, Amber and Cody. Pastor George Burton conducted the funeral service at the Apostolic Faith Church on October 23rd, 2011. Interment was at the Apostolic Faith Cemetery. Pallbearers were sons Neilson, Kenny and Winston, son-in-law Paul and brothers Kirby and Dennis. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Central Funeral Homes.

ANSTEY, CHESLEY STEADMAN
1921-2011

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Chesley S. Anstey announces his passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on October 28, 2011 at the age of 88. Chesley was a member of the Salvation Army. He retired from Warr's Limited. Predeceased by son Brian. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Elva; sons: Scott (Justina) of Springdale, Kevin (Joanne) of Sudbury and Wayne (Naida) of Sudbury; daughters: Jennie Mouland (Ralph) of Sudbury, Bonnie Taylor (Raymond) of Grand Falls-Windsor and Betty Giles (Ivan) of Sudbury. Also leaving to mourn 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Majors Robert and Cassie Kean conducted the funeral service from the Salvation Army Citadel in Springdale on October 30, 2011. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bruce Oxford, Gerald Dalley, Jim Dalley, Jack Dalley, Raymond King and Les Locke. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

NEWMAN, BAXTER
October 4, 1955 - October 30, 2011
Mr. Baxter Newman
of King's Point passed peacefully away at The Green Bay Health Care Centre, Springdale on October 30, 2011 at the age of 56, losing his battle with ALS. He was born October 4, 1955 to Melvern & Jean Newman of South Brook, and married Marion Foster, the love of his life, on November 9, 1975. They shared 36 years together and raised two beautiful daughters, Sonya & Natasha. Baxter was especially proud of his granddaughter, Rebekah - "Pop's pride and joy"! Baxter was well known for his service to his town, having served 12 years as major. He fought hard and spent many hours working on behalf of the town. He is predeceased by his father. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Marion; daughters Sonya (Darren), Natasha; granddaughters Rebekah & Sara; mother Jean (Freeman),; brothers Wayne (Brenda), Bruce (Theresa), Morris (Mary); sisters Jessie (Gary), Alfreda (Morris), Dianne (Brian) as well as a very large circle of other relatives and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him. The Pentecostal Church, King's Point, was filled to capacity as Pastor Ben Brown conducted the Home Going Service on November 3. Interment followed at King's Point Inter-faith Cemetery. Pallbearers were Victor & Vincent Foster, Bruce & Morris Newman, Byrce Vokey, Shawn England, Perry Gillingham, Raymond Janes. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gail Noel and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.
