THOMAS, CLAUDE EDWIN
Passed away suddenly on October 1, 2002 Claude Edwin Thomas at his home in King's Point. He was 68 years old and retired from logging in 1999. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Suzannah Thomas; one brother and one sister. Left to mourn are his wife Phyllis; sons Larry (Elizabeth), Tony (Rose) and Robert (Suzanne) all of King's Point. and daughter Christine (Morris) Newbury. Also leaving to mourn sisters Mary (Basil foster), Rattling Brook and Lucy (Bryce Tilley), King's Point; nine grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Soper conducted the funeral services at the Pentecostal Church, King's Point on Friday, October 4, 2002. Interment was at the King's Point Interfaith Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harvey Andrews, Ronald Gillingham, Donald Maye, Roy Richards, Vey Stoodley and Rayfield Rideout.

SHEPPARD, ALLAN JAMES
Passed away October 1, 2002 after a lengthy illness, Allan James Sheppard at the GBCHC. Springdale. He was 66 years old. Mr. Sheppard retired from pulpwood contracting with Corner Brook Pulp and Paper and was a member of the Sheppardville United Church. Predeceased by father and mother Robert and Carrie Sheppard; brother Hutley and sister Elsie Buckley. Left to mourn are wife Georgina May; sons Frank (Beverly), Welbourne (Sherry), Perry (Marina) and Darren (Olga), all of Sheppardville; daughters Roslie (Harold Kelley), Sheila (Brian Fudge), Darlene (Larry Kelley), all of Sheppardville, Evelyn (Perry Smith), Springdale, Golda (Gregory Foster), Espanola, ON and Marguerite (Louis Dyer), Sheppardville. Also leaving to mourn; sisters Gloria Coffin (Claude), Marjorie Lewis (Robert) and Jane Shepaprd (Cornelius); brothers Leander (Lucille), Lewis (Mary) and Martin (Maxine); 22 grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Marion Davis conducted the funeral service at Sheppardville United Church, Sheppardville on Friday, October 4, 2002. Interment was at the Sheppardville Interfaith Cemetery. Pallbearers were sons Frank, Welbourne, Perry and Darren

COLBOURNE, ROBERT JOHN
Passed away October 5, 2002 after a lengthy illness, Robert John Colbourne at the CNRHC, Grand Falls-Windsor in his 89th year. Mr. Colbourne retired from fishing and logging at age 65 and was a member of LOL lodge, Pilley's Island and Royal black P.I., Springdale. Predeceased by Samuel Colbourne, Wallace Colbourne, Stanley, Martha, Louise Ryan and mother and father Titus and Amelia Colbourne. Leaving to mourn sister Stella Noseworthy, Point Leamington and brother Bernard Fudge (Meta), Brighton. Capt. Spurrell conducted the funeral services at the S. A. Church and Cemetery Brighton. Pallbearers were Gerald Anthony, Eugene Fudge, Lodewick Anthony, (Black Knights), Roy King, Leslie Bowers and Larry Moss (Masons).

REGULAR, GIDEUS ROY, MING'S BIGHT
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gid Regular, age 42, announce his sudden passing at Corner Brook on Monday, October 14, 2002. Left to forever cherish their wonderful memories are wife Maryann; sons Joey (Lorelei), Grand Prairie, AB and Alex, Ming's Bight; parents Eleazer and Mary Regular; sisters Daisy Bishop (Junior), La Scie, Doreen Pardy (Tony), Wanda Regular (Wayne) and Janice Regular (Carl) all of Ming's Bight; brother Kerry (Carolann), Edmonton, AB; parents-in-law James and Bridget Sullivan; brothers-in-law Kevin (Annie), Brent's Cove, Joe (Chris), Lynden, Washington, Pius (Sandy), Nanimo, BC, Gord (Laura), Glen (Colleen) all of Brent's Cove and Cecil (Carol), Nanimo, BC; sisters-in-law Ellen, Port Hardy, BC, Olivera (Ed), Leaf Rapids, MB, Josie (Dayne), Port Hardy, BC and Carrie (Todd), Ming's Bight. and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Cecil Young conducted the funeral service at Calvary Pentecostal Church and Cemetery, Ming's Bight on Friday, October 18, 2002. Pallbearers were Gord Sullivan, Clyde Gillingham, Truman Dicks, Hubert Jenkins, Ross Regular and Kevin Regular.

SMITH, MOLLY LEONA BERTHA
Passed away peacefully October 20, 2002, Molly Leona Bertha Smith, age 56 at Springdale, NL. Left to mourn are husband Nelson Smith; son Perry (Evelyn), Springdale and daughter Christine, Springdale. Also leaving to mourn sisters Joyce Roberts, Shirley Lush and Melicent Smith; brother Stanley Rowsell; two grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor David Mercer conducted the funeral service at Living Waters Ministries, Springdale on October 23, 2002. Interment was at Living Waters Cemetery. Pallbearers were Larry Kelly, Rick Oxford, Rodney Kelley, Perry Sheppard, Stedman Clarke, Darren Sheppard and Boyd Saunders.

FOSS, RALPH LAWRENCE
Passed away peacefully on October 22, 2002 after a lengthy illness, Ralph Lawrence Foss, age 68, at the CNRHC. Mr. Foss was a retired miner. Predeceased by mother Mary; father Jack and sister Evelyn. Left to mourn are wife Cornelia; sons Clifton (fiancee Trudy-Ann), Point Leamington and Dennis (Rita), Grand Falls-Windsor and daughter Denise (Anthony White), Etobicoke, ON. Also leaving to mourn sisters Myrtle Oxford, Lola Collins, Vivian (Jim) Marsh and Carolyn (Bill) Abbott; brothers Garland (Margie), Baie Verte, Roy (Patsy), Leaf Rapids, MB and Jake (Sylvia), Campbell River, BC; three grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Major and Mrs. Gary Butt conducted the funeral services at the Salvation Army Church, Springdale on Friday, October 25, 2002. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers were Donald Collins, Tommy Foss, Darren Marsh, Brian Marsh, Cindy Rideout and Jill Thomas.

PENNEY, JOSEPH PLEMAN, SMITH'S HR.
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph Pleman Penney, age 82, announce his passing at the BVPHC, Baie Verte on Wednesday, October 23, 2002. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Rowena Penney; daughter Marion Small and sisters Cassie Colbourne and Mabel Squires. Left with fond and loving memories are wife Flora; sons Carl (Lillian), Lloyd (Beverly), all of Smith's Harbour, daughters Lillian Squires (Ellis), Smith's Harbour and Nola Elliott (David), Fort MacMurray, AB; son-in-law Roy Small, Smith's Harbour; 14 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; his dear and special friends at the H. Pardy Manor and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Marilyn Avery conducted the funeral service at Riverside United Church, Burlington on Saturday, October 26, 2002. interment was at Bayview Cemetery, Smith's Harbour. Pallbearers were Craig Penney, Todd Penney, Peter Small, Ernest Colbourne, Stephen Knight and Ariel Osmond.

STONE, MILDRED
it is with great sadness that the family of the late Mildred Stone announce her passing a the Springdale Hospital, Springdale on October 28, 2002 at the age of 79. Mrs. Stone retired from S. T. Jones & Son. Predeceased by her husband Clifford; sister Dorothy and Parents Walter and Naomi Weir. Left with fond and loving memories are nieces and nephews. Also leaving to mourn are sisters Daisy, Elsie, Pearl, Clementine, Lillian, Ruth and Shirley; brothers-in-law Roland and Albert Stone and families. Rev. Beverly Snow conducted the funeral service at the Central Funeral Home on October 30, 2002. Interment was at the United Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Shirley Roberts, Janette Folkes, Wanda Boyd, Peggy Folkes, Bernice Rowsell and Laura O'Dell.

WALSH, BERLY NETA
Passed away October 28, 2002 after a lengthy illness, Berly Neta Walsh at the Baie Verte Hospital, Baie Verte in her 55th year. Mrs. Walsh was a homemaker. Predeceased by Charlie Thomas. Left to mourn are husband Fred Walsh; mother Florence Budgell; son Bobby (Raquel), Kitchener, ON; daughters Loretta (Boyce), Middle Arm, Pauline (Andy), Slave lake, AB and Trixie (Wilson), Middle Arm. Also leaving to mourn sisters Nina (Lester) Lush, Burlington, Verna (Hayward) Walsh, Baie Verte and Gertie (Ernest) Welshman, Capelle, NB; stepsister Mottie Gilles; brothers Roland (Mary) Thomas, Antigonish, Cecil (Blanche) Thomas, Burlington, Enos (Irene) Thomas, Kitchener, ON, Roger (Bertha) Budgell, Middle Arm and Francis (Penny) Budgell, Middle Arm; stepbrother Pastor Robert Thomas; stepfather Samuel Budgell and eight grandchildren. Pastor Foster conducted the funeral service at the Bayview Pentecostal Tabernacle, Middle Arm. Interment was at Ocean View Cemetery. Pallbearers were Roger Budgell, Roland Thomas, Cecil Thomas, Gordon Walsh, Morris Chipp and Marvin Prouse
