SHINER, MARY BLANCHE
Passed away October 3, 2001, peacefully, Mary Blanche Shiner at the Green Bay Health Centre, Springdale. She was 83 years of age. Predeceased by husband Walter Shiner. Left to mourn is son Graden (Burnetta), Smith's Hr. Also leaving to mourn: sisters, Elsie Newbury, King's Point; brother Philip Budgell, Middle Arm, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Bruce Mills conducted the funeral service at Bethel Pentecostal Church, Smith's Hr on October 6, 2001. Interment was at the Pentecostal Church, Smith's Hr. Pallbearers were Hayward Austin, Melvin Austin, Cyril Shiner, Rodney Shiner, Henry Newbury and Leonard Robinson.

ROSE, MARY CATHERINE
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Catherine Rose, age 57, announce her passing at the Green Bay Health Centre on Saturday, October 6, 2001. Predeceased by her daughter, Zena Rose and father, Bernard Alyward. Left with fond and loving memories are: common law spouse, Lindsay Tizzard, Springdale; sons, Gerard Alyward (Sherry DeBourke), St. John's, Patrick Edwards (Marilyn), St Lawrence, Travis Rose (Melissa), Oshawa, Ronnie Rose (Michelle Barlow), Toronto; stepchildren, Robert and Sherry Tizzard and nine grandchildren. Also leaving to mourn Mother, Josephine Alyward (Gerald Gillingham), Grand Falls-Windsor; brothers, Gerald (Donelda), Edmonton, Ted (Alberta), Athabasca, Loyola (Carmel), Eddie (Sheila), Melvin (Elaina), all of Fort MacMurray, Greg (Jim Bennett), Vancouver, Dennis (Marliyn Rose), Drayton Valley, Rick (Kim), Fort MacMurray and Reg (Shirley), St. John's; sisters, Nora Geno (Harold), Fort MacMurray, Anne Dubeau (Ken), Ballibro, Beth Glover (Clayton Batten), Foxtrap and Cavell Alyward, Terrace and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Edward Brophy conducted the funeral mass at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Baie Verte on Monday, October 8, 2001. Pallbearers were Kinsmen, Lester Tizzard, Eugene Wells, Joe Hann and Kinettes Tina Saunders, Pansy Curtis and Bonnie Matthews and the crossbearer was Lawrence Drover.

LOCKE, CHESLEY OBED
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Chesley Obed Locke announce his passing at the Springdale Hospital on October 8, 2001 at the age of 88. Chesley was a member of the Pentecostal Church. Chesley retired from fishing. Predeceased by wife, Mary Belle and brother Cyril. Left with fond and loving memories is daughter, Evelyn (Lloyd Butt), Springdale. Also leaving to mourn: three sisters; three brothers; five grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Pastor E. Rideout conducted the funeral service at the Pentecostal Church on October 11, 2001. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Grant Avenue. Pallbearers were Dick Butt (grandson); stephen Snow, Andrew Butt, Lawrence Bouzanne and Brendon Snow (Great grandsons) and Edward Follett.

JACOBS, WILLIAM ANDREW
Passed away October 9, 2001 after a lengthy illness, William Andrew Jacobs at his home in Westport. He was 89 years old. Mr. Jacobs retired from logging and was a member of the Loyal Orange Association. Predeceased by: parents, Robert and Elizabeth Ann; wife, Pearl; sons, Samuel, Thomas and Robert; sisters, Susannah, Martha, Blanche, Mariah, Katherine and Jane and brothers, Samuel and Thomas. Left to mourn are: son, Roland (Edna), Westport and daughter, Ethel (Harvey Jacobs), Westport. Also leaving to mourn; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Sandra Voelker-Wack conducted the funeral services at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Westport on Friday, October 12, 2001. Interment was at St. Peter's Cemetery, Westport. Pallbearers were William Rowe, Varrick Wells, Francis Osbourne, Warrick Osbourne, Cyril Fudge, Dolph Hewlett and Stuart Gillingham.

MITCHELL, BOBBY LLOYD
Passed away October 10, 2001, after a lengthy illness, Bobby Lloyd MITCHELL at the Janeway Hospital, St. John's, at the age of 20. Left to mourn are: mother and father Doris and Lloyd MITCHELL. Also leaving to mourn are: sister, April (Gary) PARDY; girlfriend, Terri GILES; brother Bernard CHILDS (Jodie); nieces - Jenelle, Jennifer and Chloe; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Capt. Chris Pilgrim conducted the funeral services at the Salvation Army Citadel, Woodstock on Saturday, October 13, 2001. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chad Mitchell, Lawrence Mitchell, Norman Taylor, Brad Randell, Kirk Simms and Robbie Gillingham.

HAYES, LEO
Passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 13, 2001, Leo Hayes of St Patrick's. Left to mourn are: son George (Isabel); daughters Eileen (Gordon), Frances (Tom), Rosemary and Sharon; granddaughters Debbie and Tina; grandsons Brian, Shannon, Andrew, Joseph, Adam, Kanti, Rick, Shawn and Carl; Great granddaughters Kelsey, Taylor and Emily; great grandson Joshua and many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by wife Mary and sons John and Richard.

YOUNG, EILEEN DAISY
November 9, 1922 - October 22, 2001

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eileen Daisy YOUNG, age 78, announce her passing at the Valley Vista Senior's Complex, Springdale on Monday, October 13, 2001. Predeceased by: husband, David; sons, George and Steward; daughter, Lydia; grandchildren, Betty SHINER, Freeman JANES and Rowena YOUNG; sister, Blanche PENNEY; and brother, Leander SHINER. Left to forever cherish their wonderful memories are: sons, Albert (Cathy), Antigonish, NS, Clayton, David (Ethel), James (Laura), Giddis (Ivy) and Gerald (Trudy), all of Smith's Hr. and Ronald (Florence), Robert's Arm; daughters, Helen SHINER (Rodman), Smith's Hr., Nina JANES (Raymond), King's Point, Mabel TOMS (Eddie), La Scie and Bessie WELSHMAN (Malcolm, Shoe Cove. Also leaving to mourn; sisters, Myrtis KNIGHT (Harry), Jackson's Cove and Ivy SHINER (Cyril), Smith's Hr.; 27 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Bruce Mills conducted the funeral service at the Bethel Pentecostal Church and Cemetery, Smith's Hr on Thursday, October 25, 2001. Pallbearers were: grandsons, Alvin Young, Craig Young, Truman Young, Danny Shiner, Donald Shiner and Kevin Young.

POWER, GRACE
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Grace POWER announce her passing at the Green Bay Health Centre, Springdale on October 23, 2001, at the age of 54. Predeceased by her parents, Eli and Lucy (WELLS) BOWERS. Left with fond and loving memories are: husband Richard; sons, Tony (Anita), Lloydminister, AB and Dean (Angelique), Edmonton, AB; daughters, Lisa BLACK (Darcey), Stony Plain, AB and Jamie (Morgan), Lloydminister, AB. Also leaving to mourn are: sisters, Alma, Hazel (Ron), Ivy (Jim) and Clara (Ted); brother Ron; grandchildren, Travis, Stephanie, Brandon, Shania, Nicholas and Cody. Rev. Morris conducted the funeral service at the R. C. Church, St. Patrick's on October 26, 2001. Interment was at the R. C. Cemetery, St. Patrick's. Pallbearers were; Lisa Curran, Joanne Wellman, Penny Venedam, Sharon Burton, Elizabeth Power and Marguerite Maloney.

TAYLOR (FOLKES) LILLIAN MAYE MARGARET ROSE
SPRINGDALE

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lillian Maye Margaret Rose TAYLOR (FOLKES) announce her passing at the Green Bay Health Centre, Springdale on October 24, 2001, at the age of 54. Predeceased by her son, Grant in June, 1989. Left with fond and loving memories are: husband Ford; son Jamie (Joanne), Lloydminister, AB; and daughter Kathy (Fred) PYNN, Springdale. Also leaving to mourn are: one sister; five brothers; two granddaughters, Amy and Keiza PYNN; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Marion Davies, assisted by Pastor Darren Rowe and Capt. Gary Butt conducted the funeral service at the Grace United Church on October 26, 2001. Interment was at the Grace United Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Kaywood Folkes, Arthur Folkes, Allister Folkes, Junior Folkes, Stacey Folkes and Chester Batstone.
