BOUZAN (LACEY), CAROLINE -
Passed peacefully away on Oct. 4, 2000 Caroline Bouzan (Lacey) at the Credet Valley Hospital in Mississauga, ON. at the age of 90 years. Predeceased by: her husband Aidan, brother Dan and three sisters. Left to mourn are: sons - Roderick (Mable) of Brampton, ON and Ronald (Verna) of St. Patrick's, NF; daughters - Sheila and Carmel both of Toronto, ON. Also leaving to mourn: four grandsons - Ian, Kurt, Cory, Shawn (Debbie) and two great-granddaughters Samantha and Isabelle.
Note:- Place of funeral, Interment site and pallbearers were not given.

SKINNER, FRANK
HARBOUR ROUND

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Frank Skinner, age 51, announce his passing at the BVPHC on Oct. 6, 2000. Predeceased by special niece Mary Ann Payne. Left with fond and loving memories are wife - Eileen; sons - Lorne and Arthur; parents - Jack and Elizabeth Skinner; parents-in-law - Jack and Josephine Payne; special sister-in-law - Clotide Payne and special nephew - Adam Payne, all of Harbour Round. Also leaving to mourn: sisters - Irene Payne (Paddy Downey), Mary Sullivan (Raymond Jr.), and brothers - Terrance (Rita), Victor, Gerard (Irene Payne), Ronald, Eddie (Evelyn), Brendan (Lorraine), Wayne (Michelle) and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Edward Brophy conducted the funeral service at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Harbour Round on Oct. 9, 2000. Pallbearers were brothers - Terrance, Victor, Edward, Gerard and Brendan and brother-in-law - Peter Payne and the crossbearer was brother Wayne.

VALLIS, HELEN MAY
Passed peacefully away at the Leonard A. Miller Centre, St. John's on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, Helen May Vallis. She was 87. Predeceased by: her first husband Andrew Hillier of Port Anson; second husband Llewllyn Vallis; daughter June Anne Hillier; step sons - Fred Vallis and Roy Vallis; brother Fred Robbins; and sister Belle Robins. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are: son Jim Hillier (Dena); daughter Ruth Burton (Bruce); step son Bob Vallis (June); step daughters Marion Wessell and Betty Smith (Bill); a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren, brother George Robbins (Lucy); sister Ivy Oakley (Neil); sister-in-law Betty Robins; nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000 at 2 p.m. from Carnell Memorial Chapel. Interment followed in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Note:- Pallbearers were not listed.

PINKSEN, ARTHUR GERALD
SEAL COVE

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Arthur Gerald Pinksen, age 60, announce his passing at Grand Cache, Alberta on October 15, 2000. He was predeceased by: daughter Cynthia Joy; parents - Andrew and Martha and brother - Sidney. Left with fond and loving memories are: wife - Alma; son - David (Nicole), Chetwynd, BC; daughters - Marie Pennell (Terry), Carmenville, NF and Rhonda Simms (Dave), Grande Cache, AB. Also leaving to mourn: sisters - Mary Gavin (Herbert), Lucy Rideout and Ella Mae Osmond (Donald); brother - Hayward (Marie); sister-in-law - Dorcus Pinksen; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Captains Brian and Betty Thomas conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel and Cemetery, Seal Cove on Friday, Oct. 20, 2000. Pallbearers were Gordon Parsons, Roy Osbourne, Stanley Banks, George Osbourne, Bert Rice, Jim Parsons and Clifford Rice.

MITCHELL, ALICE JESSIE
LA SCIE

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alice Jessie Mitchell, age 100, announce her passing at her residence on Monday, Oct. 16, 2000. She was predeceased by: her first husband - Edgar Martin; son Manuel Martin; daughter Daisy Bartlett; second husband - Eli Mitchell; daughter - Daisy Richards; Granddaughters - Joan Coombs and Pearl Hughes; and great-grandson - Roger Foster. Left with fond and loving memories are: son - Lloyd (Violet), with whom she resided for many years; daughters - Gladys Hughes, USA, Hazel Burton (Randolph), La Scie, Gertie (Clarence), Shoe Cove; son-in-law - Arthur Richards, La Scie and special granddaughter - Shirley Ward, La Scie. Also leaving to mourn are: 24 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and special friends. Pastor Roger Combdon conducted the funeral service at Bethel Pentecostal Church and Cemetery, La Scie on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000. Pallbearers were grandsons - Willie Gray Jr., Randolph Gray, Scott Gray, Rick Gray, Garland Mitchell, and Rick Mitchell.

McPHERSON, ELLEN
Passed away October 22, 2000, peacefully, Ellen McPherson at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Care Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor. She was 79 years of age. Predeceased by her husband Patrick McPherson. Left to mourn are: sons Phonse (Mavis) of Baie Verte, Mark (Frances) of Baie Verte, Leo (Carol) of Baie Verte, Mike of Cobourg, ON, Jim of Calgary, AB; daughters Betty (Harris Moores) of Baie Verte, Marion (Phill Walsh) of Grand Falls-Windsor and Bernadette of Elkford, BC. Also leaving to mourn: sister Cecila Freake; brother Dan Downey; 15 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Brophy conducted the funeral service at St. Pius X Church, Baie Verte on October 25, 2000. Pallbearers were Rhonda Carlisle, Jennifer McPherson, Regina Walsh, Melinda Sawatzky, Paula Decker, Nichole Ward and the crossbearer was Terry McPherson

CLARKE, LLOYD BROOKS
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lloyd Brooks Clarke, age 84, announce his passing which occurred at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor on October 25, 2000. Mr. Clarke retired from the Department of Transportation in 1981. Predeceased by sons - Freeman and Samuel. Left with fond and loving memories are: wife - Beatrice; sons - Ivan (Beulah), Stony Creek, ON, Roy (Sherry), Springdale and Ronald (Brenda Lee) St. John's; daughters - Jean (Orville), King's Point, Bonnie (John), Corner Brook, Mildred (Eugene), Beachside, Kay, Springdale, Loretta (Dennis), Springdale, Marilyn, Springdale, Myra (David), King's Point and daughter-in-law, Rose, Springdale. Also leaving to mourn: sister - Patricia Langdon; 26 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastors H. P. Foster and E. Rideout conducted the funeral service at the Springdale Pentecostal Church and Cemetery on October 28, 2000. Pallbearers were grandsons - Peter Clarke, Sasha Newbury, Stephen Clarke, Brooks Young, Phillip Clarke, and David Mouland.

RIDEOUT, DONALD PIERCE
BAIE VERTE

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Donald Pierce Rideout, age 73, announce his passing at the Green Bay Health Centre on Oct. 27, 2000. Mr. Rideout retired from the Town of Baie Verte in 1991. Predeceased by; son - Morris; parents - Jasper and Clara Rideout; and brothers - George and Lawrence. Left with fond and loving memories are: sons - Junior (Brenda), Sparwood, BC, Dean, Toronto, ON, Charles (Denise), Baie Verte, Curtis, Toronto, ON; daughters - Olive Pretty (Wayne), Fort McMurray, AB, Eileen Flett, Fort McMurray, AB, Kay Jones, Lethbridge, AB, Brenda Lush (Winston), Burlington, ON; and mother to the children - Hazel, Baie Verte. Also leaving to mourn: sisters - Dorcus, Ida, Gwenlyn and Blanche; brothers - Ford and Robert; 18 grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Marilyn Avery conducted the funeral service at Bethany United Church and Cemetery, Baie Verte on Oct. 31, 2000. Pallbearers were Frank Sacrey, Reginald Burt, Job Burton, Maxwell Paddock, Ernest Paddock and Ralph Jacobs.

SHORT, CECIL RAYMOND
Passed away Oct. 28, 2000, peacefully after a short illness, Cecil Raymond Short at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's. He was 86 years of age. Predeceased by his wife Belinda in 1988. Left to mourn: sons - Eldron (Loretto), Ignace, ON, Mervin (Yvonne), Triton; step-sons - Malcolm Reid (Joan), Springdale, Joe Reid (Elsie), Elmira, ON, Wesley Reid (Bessie), Guelph, ON, Clyde Reid (wife deceased), Ignace, ON, Jordon Reid (Pat), Kelligrews, C.B.S., NF, Norman Reid (Barb), Elmira, ON; daughters - Marjorie (Augustus Budden), St. John's, Joan (Kenneth Lush), Seal Cove, C.B.S., NF; step-daughter Flossie (Hubert Hewlett), Robert's Arm. Also leaving to mourn: sisters - Josie (Lewellan) Mckay, Wilhemina (Albert) Morey, Ivy (George) Chappell; brothers - Ambrose (Netta) Short, Henry (Rosie) Short; 33 grandchildren; a great number of great grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor R. A. Burden conducted the funeral service at Springdale Pentecostal Church, Springdale on Nov. 1, 2000. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers were Graydon Vincent, Roy Hewlett, Melvin Morey, Cecil Normore, Orvin Short and Tony Kakekagunick.

CURRAN, WILLIAM (BILL) RONALD
Passed away October 29, 2000, accidentally, William (Bill) Ronald Curran at the age of 33. Bill was employed by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans in St. John's, NF. Left to mourn are: his mother and father Elsie (Locke) and John Curran; brothers - Richard (Lisa), St. Patrick's, NF, and Dave (Sandra), St. Patrick's, NF; sisters - Debbie (Steve Walker), St. Patrick's. NF, and Susan (Peter Parsons), Springdale, NF. Also leaving to mourn nephews and nieces: Andrew and Jessica, Christina, Patrick and Noah. Father William Hearn assisted by Father Tony Hageman conducted the funeral service at the Sacred Heart Parish Church in St. Patrick's on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000. Interment was at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Pallbearers were Paul Curran, Bill Dormondy, Steve Walker, Rennie Clarke, Ted Robinson, and Rupert Locke.
