PARSONS (NEE PETERS), FAY JACQUELINE
Passed peacefully away on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at the Health Science Centre in the presence of her loving family, Fay Jacqueline Parsons age 74 years. Predeceased by her parents Norman and Madeline (nee Clarke) Peters. Leaving to mourn loving husband of 54 years Roger; two sons, John (Debbie Whitten), Ottawa and Peter (Karen), Maryland US; five grandchildren, Jessica, Cory, Jennifer, Elizabeth and Jessica; one sister Glynne Holtby (Craig), Springdale as well as a number of nieces, nephews and many friends. At Fay's request cremation has taken place and her wish was that there be no visitation or funeral service. Arrangements entrusted to Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Troy Darren Victor Sacrey, age 17, announce his sudden passing at Ming's Bight, NL on Thursday, November 5, 2009. SHEPPARD, LEWIS ALFRED
January 2, 1927 - November 6, 2009

It is with sadness that the family of the late Lewis Sheppard announce his passing on November 6, 2009, at the age of 82. In 1966 he and his wife Mary, with their family, moved from Botwood to Sheppardville where Lewis and his brothers started a community around the woods industry. He will be remembered for his quiet gentleness, loving smile and genuine warmth which he shared with all he met. He was predeceased by parents Robert and Carrie, brothers Leander, Hutley and Allan, sister Elsie, son Lewis, son-in-law Randy Pess, and brother-in-law Claude Coffin. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife Mary, sons Wilson (Peggy), Carl (Stella), Cyril (Cathy), Clyde (Mary), Chris (Shannon); daughters Helen (Dale Roberts), Linda (Glenn Rhodes), Cathy Press, and Marjorie (Bruce Whitehead); 26 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Martin, sisters Gloria, Marjorie, and Jean, many nieces and nephews, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Jerry Weir, assisted by Rev. Patricia Melindy and Pastor Lindsey Foster, conducted the funeral service from Grace United Church, Springdale. Interment followed at the Grace United Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gail Noel and Leander Hewlett of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.

OAKE, GERALD
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerald Percy Oake announce his passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on November 8, 2009 at the age of 73. Gerald retired from fishing. Predeceased by parents, Thomas and Fannie Oake; sisters, Anita and Helen and brother Selby. Also leaving to mourn Viola (Holloway), Dorothy Hilda (Anthony), Georgina (Boyd), Elsie (Dawe), Harvey, Leslie and Boyce. Captain Bradley Oxford conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel in Pilley's Island on November 11, 2009. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wilfred Tizzard, Steven Boyd, David Oake, Wayne Oake, Garry Anthony and Lloyd Crewe. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

MATTHEWS, HERBERT RALPH
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Herbert Ralph Matthews announce his passing at the Hugh Twomey Health Care Centre in Botwood on November 10, 2009 at the age of 80. Ralph retired from the Dept. of Transportation in March of 1993. Predeceased by his first wife, Ruby and grandson, Rodney. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Annie; sons, Baxter Matthews (Ada) of King's Point, Hardy Matthews (Nola) of King's Point, Wilf. Matthews (Irene) of King's Point, Craig Matthews (Bonnie) of Springdale; daughters: Iris Kelly (George) of Silverdale, Nina Heath (Wilbert) of South Brook, Barbara Heath (Dawson) of South Brook, Michelle Sheppard (Roger) of Sheppardville, Lori Ann Wells (Terry) of Springdale and Trudy Anstey (Stephen) of Sheppardville. Also leaving to mourn stepchildren; Juanita (Dave) Rickett, Madeline (Rendell) House, Marie (Chris) Weagle, Amy (Mark) Boutilier, Bruce (Cindy) Parsons, Jeff (Lisa) Parsons, 20 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Reverend Donna Hann conducted the funeral service at the United Church in King's Point on November 12, 2009. Interment was at the Interfaith Cemetery in King's Point. Pallbearers were Adam Matthews, Peter Matthews, Justin Matthews, Matthew Matthews, Stephen Anstey and Angel Heath.

POWER, MILDRED DEBORAH
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mildred Deborah Power announce her passing at the Green Bay Health Care Center in Springdale on November 11, 2009 at the age of 87. Predeceased by husband, Frederick; son, Howard; daughter-in-law, Grace; parents, Richard & Elizabeth Patey; sister, Ada and brother, Joshua. Left with fond and loving memories are her sons: Neddie (Marion) of Springdale, Richard (Maisie) of West Pond and daughters: Marion Clarke (Harold) of St. Patrick's, Madeline (Ray) Power of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, Shirley Croucher of Fort MacMurray, Rita Mae Schwartz (John) of Shad Bay, Nova Scotia and Betty Carroll (Tony) of Deer Lake. Also leaving to mourn sister, Vera Foster (Malcolm) of Burlington, sister-in-law Muriel Patey of St. Anthony, 19 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Reverend Patricia Melindy conducted the funeral service at the church in St. Patrick's on November 14, 2009. Interment was at the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandsons Frank, Lewis, Dean, Sheldon, Chris and Howard. Honorary pallbearers were grandsons, Faron, Tony and Jason. Crossbearer was grandson Brandon. The reader was granddaughter Jackie.

STRICKLAND, COLIN FRANK
September 4, 1948 - November 11, 2009

It is with sadness that the family of the late Colin Strickland announce his passing on November 11, 2009, at the age of 61. He was predeceased by parents Herbert and Rowena, Brother Harold, Nephew Leroy, brothers-in-law Cyril Fifield and Arch Inder. Leaving to mourn are sisters Pearl Fifield, Melvine Inder, brothers Roy (Mabel), Ronald (Blanche), Hubert (Evelyn), and Claude, 25 nieces and nephews, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Joan Brinston, assisted by Capt. Brad Oxford conducted the funeral service from the Salvation Citadel, Pilley's Island. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gail Noel and Leander Hewlett of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.

WARD, GARLAND AUGUSTUS
La Scie, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Garland Augustus Ward, age 73, announce his passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Thursday, November 12, 2009. Predeceased by his parents - Alex & Margaret Ward; brothers - Boyce Ward & Bennett Ward; brother-in-law - Newton Regular. Left with fond & loving memories are his long friend - Elvina Toms, La Scie, NL; children - Sharon Ward, Orillia, ON, Gordon "Lindsey" Ward, Barrie, ON, Stephen Ward, Ottawa, ON, Roxanne Ward (Francis Mitchell), Woodstock, NL, Lewis Ward, La Scie, NL, Lisa Ward (Frank Pouliot), Kelowna, BC, and Pauline Ward (Eddy Martin), Fort McMurray, AB; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; siblings - Chesley Ward (Golda), Sylvia Regular, both of La Scie, NL; special aunt - Clara Ryan-Small, Mount Pearl, NL; Elvina's family; many cousins; nieces and nephews; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. WINSOR, MERVIN
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mervin Winsor announce his passing at Triton, NL, on November 15, 2009 at the age of 61. Predeceased by father, Adolphus Winsor; mother, blanche Winsor; two sisters, Idella Noseworthy and Rose Winsor; one brother, Clarence Winsor. Left with fond and loving memories is his wife, Dorothy Winsor and two daughters: Jodene (Leroy) Henstridge of Triton and Janice (Harris) Roberts of Triton. Also leaving to mourn five brothers: Roderick (Linda) Winsor, Robert Winsor, Ross (Doreen) Winsor, Bruce (Margaret) Winsor, Clayton (Thelma) Winsor, all of Triton; three sisters: Phyllis (Charlie) Stewart of B.C., Lillian Tucker of Gander and Berryl (Ross) Roberts of Triton; three grandkids: Keegan and Konner Roberts and Kristian Henstridge as well as a large circle of family and friends. Majors Larry and Phyllis Fudge conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel in Triton on November 20, 2009. Interment was at the Triton Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers were his eight nephews: Reg Budgell, Larry Winsor, Lee Winsor, Danny Winsor, Orvin Roberts, Ambrose Noseworthy, Mervin Tucker and Peter Winsor. Honorary pallbearer was his friend, Ralph Lush. Members of the Honor Guard ("His Fishermen Family") were Bruce Winsor (brother), Paul Winsor (nephew), Perry Roberts (nephew), Clyde Roberts (nephew), Golda Lush (friend), Wayne Lush (friend), Gerald Anthony (Friend) Dave Rice (friend), Robert Winsor (brother), Roland Roberts (friend), Avery Roberts) nephew, Alvin Lush (friend), Lawrence Budgell (friend), Bruce Strickland (friend), Brad Anthony (friend) and Hubert Roberts (friend). Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

WINSOR, HAZEL FRANCES
December 21, 1930 - November 16, 2009

It is with sadness that the family of the late Hazel Winsor, Triton, announce her passing on November 18, 2009, at the age of 78. Hazel's career of choice was housewife and mother in which she excelled. She loved children. She also loved quilting, knitting, sewing, and cultivating flowers. She was a very special lady who will be forever remembered for her kindness and her smile. She leave to mourn husband Stewart, children Linda (Eli Petten), Rosemary (Cecil Young), Dawson (Winona), Sharon (Lawrence Henstridge), Patty (Terry Wilton), Graham (Ruth), and Joann (Graham Vincent), 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, sisters Florence, Sadie (Dan), Judy (Mike), Shirley (Harvey), Effie (Lloyd), brothers Derrick (Gloria), Junior (Roseabelle), Glen (Charmaine) as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Jeffrey Elliott conducted the funeral service from Maranatha Pentecostal Church. Interment followed at the Triton Evergreen Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gail Noel and Leander Hewlett of Green Bay Funeral Homes, Springdale.

RANDELL, KEVIN "FRED"
November 7, 1939 - November 19, 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Frederick Kevin Randell, age 70, announce his sudden passing at his private residence in Nipper's Harbour, NL on Thursday, November 19, 2009. Predeceased by his parents - Frederick & Janie Randell; siblings - Teddy Randell, Elsie Randell, and Eric Randell; parents-in-law - Allan & Martha Perry; brother-in-law - Joseph Head; special friend & cousin-in-law - Corbett Squires. SEYMOUR, CHRISTOPHER
January 27, 1963 - November 21, 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Christopher Seymour, age 46, announce his passing at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital, Edmonton, AB on Saturday, November 21, 2009. Predeceased by his parents - John Jim & Elizabeth Seymour; sisters-in-law - Dinah Seymour and Marie Seymour. EARLE, GEORGE
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alonzo George Earle announces his passing at the Green Bay Health Care Center in Springdale on November 22, 2009 at the age of 93. George Earle was a member of the Grace United Church. George retired from the Dept. of Transportation. Predeceased by wife, Annie; parents, Harry and Selina Earle; brother Harry and sister-in-law, Gracie; sister Ada Pardy and brother-in-law, Millighan; sister Jean Inder and brother-in-law, Maxwell and sister Ethel Coleman and brother-in-law, Joseph. Left with fond and loving memories are his two daughters: Ada (Bert) of Springdale and Lena (Carl) also of Springdale. Also leaving to mourn granddaughter, Sasha Mercer Young (Brooks), as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Patricia Melindy along with Majors Gerald and Doreen Lacey conducted the funeral service at Central Funeral Homes in Springdale on November 25, 2009. Interment was at the United Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bert Winsor, Carl Mercer, Brooks Young, Neil Jenkins, Gordon Jenkins and Claude Bowers. FOLKES, ROWENA
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rowena Daisy Folkes announce her passing at her home in Springdale on November 26, 2009 at the age of 68. Rowena Folkes was a member of the Pentecostal Church. Predeceased by parents, Henry and Edna Heath; two sisters and one brother. Left with fond and loving memories is her husband, Alister; two sons, Scott and Perry and two daughters, Louise Stead (Paul) of Bonavista and Cindy Smith (James) of B.B. Also leaving to mourn one sister Shirley and three brothers, Bert, Charlie, and Ford Heath. Pastor Howard Head conducted the funeral service at the Pentecostal Church in Springdale on November 29, 2009. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lester Tizzard, Lindsay Tizzard, John Saunders, Cyril Goudie, Moody Hewlett and Conrad Oxford. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

DAWE, VERNA
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Verna Mae Dawe announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Care Center in Grand Falls-Windsor on November 26, 2009 at the age of 77. Verna was a member of L.O.W.A. Predeceased by her husband Pearce. Left with fond and loving memories are her four sons: Barry (Mary) of St. Patrick's, Eric (Beverly) of Springdale, Terry (Peggy) of King's Point and Elwin (Samantha) of Cambridge, Ontario. Also leaving to mourn grandchildren; Krista, Erica, Timothy, Steven and Bailey. Reverend Donna Hann conducted the funeral service at the King's Point United Church on November 28, 2009. Interment was at the Interfaith Cemetery in King's Point. Pallbearers were Barry Dawe, Eric Dawe, Terry Dawe, Elwin Dawe, Timothy Dawe and Ivan Dawe. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear, Marilyn Stuckless and Jim Maidment of Central Funeral homes.

BURTON, SELBY
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Selby Ross Burton announce his passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on November 27, 2009 at the age of 94. Selby was a member of the United Church. Selby retired from the Springdale Hospital. Predeceased by wife Ida; son, Billy; sisters, Ethel and Ivy and brothers, Sandy and Todd. Left with fond and loving memories are his son, Lloyd of Ottawa, Ontario and daughters, Betsy (Victor) of Springdale and Sylvia (Jacob) of Springdale. Also leaving to mourn ten grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Reverend Patricia Melindy conducted the funeral service at Central Funeral Homes in Springdale on November 30, 2009. Interment was at the United Cemetery. Pallbearers were Craig Matthews, Fabian Martin, Tammy Martin, Peter Matthews, Victor Locke and Roger Wiseman. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

SEYMOUR, DONALD PATRICK
April 25, 1949 - November 29, 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Donald Patrick Seymour, age 60, announce his passing at his private residence in Baie Verte, NL on Sunday, November 29, 2009. Predeceased by his wife - Dinah "Dolly" Seymour; parents - John Jim & Elizabeth Seymour; brother - Chris Seymour; father-in-law - Michael Gould; siblings-in-law - Marie Seymour, Cathy Wheeler, Ken Gould; niece - Kelly Wheeler.
