It is with great sadness that the family of the late Melvin Stanley Norman, age 67, announce his sudden passing at Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on Thursday, November 1, 2007. Predeceased by his parents, Maxwell and Julie Norman; sister, Gladys Ivany; father-in-law, Earnest Dolland; and brothers-in-law, Arch Ivany and Fred Prowse. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Susie, Pacquet, NL; children, Otto Norman (Denise), Ming's Bight, NL, Keith Norman (Joanne) and Lou-ann Osmond (Duke), both of Pacquet, NL, Devin Norman (Kimberly), Orangeville, ON, and Jamie Norman, Scarborough, ON; and grandchildren, Sarah, Stacey, Karen, Ryan, and Kianna. Also leaving to mourn sisters, Joan Stead (John), Brampton, ON, Daphne Bowers (Harry), and Yvonne Norman, both of Pacquet, NL; brothers, Boyce Norman (Donna), Gander, NL, Ted Norman, and Chesley Norman (Jane), both of Brampton, ON, and Elvis Norman (Norma), Pacquet, NL; mother-in-law, Charlotte Dolland; siblings-in-law, Arthur Dolland, Lloyd Dolland (Frances), Lewis Dolland (Jean), Jessie Burt (Glen), Ivan Dolland (Mary), Willie Dolland (Onie), Norman Dolland (Janey), and Doris Noseworthy (Jack); many nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Reverend George Stockley conducted the funeral service at First United Church and Cemetery, Pacquet, NL on Monday, November 5, 2007. Pallbearers were Otto Norman, Keith Norman, Jamie Norman, Devin Norman, Duke Osmond and Elvis Norman. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

MOORE (WELLS), NELLIE ESTELLE
Passed peacefully away at The Valley Vista on November 7, Nellie Estelle (Wells) Moore of Harry's Harbour, age 105. Predeceased by her husband, Ralph Moore; parents, John and Jane wells; son, Harry; son-in-law, Ralph Skanes; brothers, Pearce and Stephen Wells; sisters, Bessie Upward and Emma Evans. She leaves to mourn daughter, Marion Skanes; son, Eric (wife Betty); daughter-in-law, Rachel Moore; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also a large circle of relatives and friends. Reverend Raymond Clouter conducted funeral services at Harry's Harbour United Church on November 10. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Central Funeral Home in Springdale. Pallbearers were grandchildren, David Skanes, Ralph Skanes, Roy Skanes, Todd Moore and Sandra Hann; grandson-in-law, Richard Taylor.

ROBERTS, DOYLE CLAYTON
Doyle Clayton Roberts
, originally of Grand Falls , passed peacefully away November 13, age 77. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Joyce, and precious daughter, Kathryn. Leaving to forever cherish his life with them are daughters, Carol (John) and Nancy (Shane); son, Michael (Alana); sisters, Bernice (Gerald) and Barbara (Calvin); sisters-in-law, Shirley and Marie; and grandchildren, Kerstin, Heidi, John, Benjamin, Hayley, Zachary, Jennifer and Jacob who loved their “Gramps” beyond all earthly measure. The family would like to thank all friends, especially Kirby and Pastor Murley, and Dr. St. Croix and all staff of the Gander Cancer Clinic for their kindness and support. Visitation took place from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, November 18 at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Funeral service was held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Carnell's Chapel. RYAN, PATRICIA KATHLEEN
Passed away November 18, 2007, after a lengthy illness, Patricia Kathleen Ryan, at the Central Newfoundland Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor. She was 63. Mrs. Ryan worked two years at Blackmore's store in Pilley's Island then dedicated the remaining years to raising her family. Predeceased by her parents, Ford and Rowena Rowsell. Left to mourn is husband, Hughie; sons, Darren (wife Yvette) of Robert's Arm, NL, Corrie (wife, Stephanie) of Robert's Arm, NL; daughter, Mona (husband, Craig Colbourne) of Robert's Arm. Also leaving to mourn sister, Betty Jean Rideout (Melvin) and Maxwell Rowsell (Georgie); six grandchildren, Jessica, Julia, Jenna, Mackenzie, Taylor and Carter; one great-grandchild, Kaylie; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Captain Morgan and Lisa Hillier conducted funeral services at the Salvation Army in Robert's Arm on November 21, 2007. Interment was at Robert's Arm Salvation Army Cemetery . Funeral arrangements were by Bill Weeks and Leander Hewlett, Green Bay Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Darren Ryan, Corrie Ryan, Brandon Ryan, Drew Roberts, Craig Colbourne, and Dwayne Rowsell.

BURTON, MARIE ETHEL
La Scie, NL
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Marie Ethel Burton, age 87, announce her passing at Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Thursday, November 22, 2007. Predeceased by her husband, Roland; parents, James and Lucy Ward; brothers, William, Alex, and Lorenzo Ward; and sisters, Gertrude Burton, Janet Loder, Gladys Parsons and Blanche Burton. Left with fond and loving memories are her children, Roy Burton (Audrey), and Clayton Burton (Donna), both of La Scie, NL, Melvin Burton (Rita), Ming's Bight, NL, Jeanette Burton (Ross), Springdale, NL, and Karl Burton (Jackie Butler), La Scie, NL; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Harry Oake conducted the funeral service at Zion United Church and Cemetery, La Scie, NL on Saturday, November 24, 2007. Pallbearers were her grandchildren, Rick Burton, Jeff Burton, Deland Burton, Anita Bath, Marcie Batten, Jodeen Burridge, Cindy Small, Kimberley Ward and Paula Dalley. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

STURGE, DONALD REGINALD
It is with great sadness that the families of the late Donald Reginald Sturge announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on November 24, 2007 at the age of 56. Predeceased by daughter, Wendy; mother and father-in-law, Freeman and Rosie Locke. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Daphne; and two sons, Cory of St. John's and Claude of Little Bay Islands. Also leaving to mourn are his three brothers, Jack, George and Tony; three sisters, Sadie, Leone and Paula; as well as mother and father, William and Emma. Captain Welden and Donna Hayward conducted the funeral service from the Salvation Army Church in Little Bay Islands on Wednesday, November 28, 2007. Interment was at the Interfaith Cemetery in Little Bay Islands. Pallbearers were Duane Oram, Jack Sturge, Chris Weir, Melvin Tucker, David Rowsell, Cyril Roberts, George Tucker and Dennis Grimes. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Audrey Gladys May, age 80, announce her passing at Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, Newfoundland on November 25, 2007. Predeceased by her husband, Claude; parents, Thomas and Maggie Gray; brothers, Leander Gray, Robert Gray, Eric Gray and Maxwell Gray; brother-in-law, Henry Foss. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dorcas Mary Banks, 72, announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor on Monday, November 26, 2007. Predeceased by her parents, Pearce and Albertha Rice; sisters, Iris Rice and Rose Robinson; son-in-law, Ford Hollett; special aunt and uncle, Elizabeth and Sidney Robinson; parents-in-law, Joseph and Jane Banks; sister-in-law, Eleanor Ricketts; brothers-in-law, Pearce Rice, Leander Gavin and Douglas Robinson.
