Passed peacefully away May 4, 2008, Stanley Howard Kinden at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor. He was 87. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mavis Benoit from Brain Cancer, age 53, in the comfort of her home with her family by her side, on Tuesday, May 20, 2008. Predeceased by father, Garland Pardy, infant brother, Gerald Pardy, and brother-in-law, Danny Sacrey. Cherished companion of Douglas Meilluer, beloved daughter of the late Garland (February 2008) and Ruby Pardy. Mavis will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Ruby Pardy; by her children and their partners: Connie (John), Toronto, ON, Danny (Allison), Jason (Anthony), Elvis (Jacqulin), Cory (Krista), all of Mississauga, ON; by her eight grandchildren: by her nine siblings: Boyde (Brigitte), Tate (Debbie), both of Brampton, ON, Paul, St. John’s, NL, Jacqueline (Denley), Jeff, both of Brampton, ON, Cathy (Shawn), Fort McMurray, AB, Joanne, Ming’s Bight, NL, Church (Lisa), and Lori (Scott), both of Brampton, ON; and by her 34 nieces and nephews. Mavis was the eldest of 11 children. She grew up in Newfoundland and came to live in Ontario at the age of 17, where she raised her family. She was a lover of nature and a champion of animals, including her five dogs. Mavis’s outgoing, happy nature, and love of laughter will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
