It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Elizabeth Parsons, age 88, announce her passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre. Baie Verte, NL on Monday, March 1, 2010. Predeceased by her husband - William Parsons; parents - Hedley & Janet Roberts; brother - Billy Roberts; sister-in-law Jeanette Roberts. Left with fond and loving memories are her children - William Parsons (Fernande), Montreal, QC, Joan Mitrasinovic (Ilija), Fort McMurray, AB, Hedley Parsons (Lorraine), Oro Station, ON, Eva Organ (William), Sherwood Park, AB, Peggy Goosney (Walter), Baie Verte, NL, Roy Parsons (Jean), Labrador City, NL, and Darlene Hutchings (Tom), Baie Verte, NL; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; siblings - Cleveland Roberts, Bonne Bay, NL, Winnifred Goosney (James), Stephenville, NL; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place from Bethany United Church, Baie Verte at a later date. Inurnment will follow at Bethany United Cemetery, Baie Verte. As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre - Therapeutic Wander Garden. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

ARMSTRONG, HAROLD JOSEPH
Sept. 16, 1919 - Mar. 1, 2010

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Harold Joseph Armstrong of Little Bay announces his passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on March 1, 2010 at the age if 90. He leaves to mourn with many treasured memories; his sons: Bruce (dale), Rick (Jackie) and David (Dianne); step-daughter: Ruth Saunders; grandchildren: Jonathon, Mark, Kenny, Justine, Scott, Sandi and Adrian; step grandchildren: Grace, Gary, Peter, Robin, Marilyn, Delores, Paul and Corey; sister: Alice Noseworthy; sisters-in-law: Margaret Armstrong, Lollie Armstrong, Loretta Armstrong and Hazel Baker; brother-in-law: Roland (Barbara) Whittle, many nephews, nieces and friends that thought the world of him. Predeceased by: wife Maude (nee Whittle) and son Danny and also wife Violet (Nee: Hull); step-daughters: Carol and Betty; brothers: Philip, Mike, Jack, Bill, Richard, Jim, Joe, Bob and Frank; sister: Agnes; parents: Thomas and Ellen Armstrong; brothers-in-law: Norbert Russell and Gerard Noseworthy; sister-in-law: Nellie Armstrong. Dad lived a full life in spite of much sorrow and sickness. His strength and sheer determination right to the end has been and will continue to be an inspiration to all of us. A very sincere thank you to all of the staff of the Valley Vista who took such good care of him in his last few months. Father Eugene Morris conducted the funeral service at the Sacred Heart Parish in St. Patrick's on Sunday, March 7, 2010. Interment was at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bruce Armstrong, Rick Armstrong, David Armstrong, Jonathon Armstrong, Kenny Armstrong and Scott Armstrong. Ushers were Mike Armstrong and Pat Armstrong. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

SILVEY, MARY ELLEN
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Ellen Silvey, age 65, announce her passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Predeceased by her son - Terry; parents - Leo & Gladys Reardon; brother - Francis Reardon; father-in-law - Thomas Silvey. Father Joseph Tebsis conducted the funeral mass at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Fleur de Lys, NL on Friday, March 5, 2010. Pallbearers were Glenn Reardon, Toni-Lynn Traverse, Tyler Traverse, Jerome Reardon, Victor Barrett, Ed Silvey and the crossbearer was Terra Traverse. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

DECKER, STERLING
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sterling Decker, age 88, announce his sudden passing at the Valley Vista Senior Citizens Complex, Springdale, NL on Wednesday, March 3, 2010. Predeceased by his parents - George & Matilda "Ester" Decker; siblings - Caroline Mitchell (Peter), Alfreda "May" Mitchell (Roland), Chesley Decker. Left with fond and loving memories are a large number of nieces and nephews, cousins, and his dear and special friends at the Valley Vista Senior Citizens Complex, Springdale, NL. Captains Brian & Betty Thomas conducted the funeral services at Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte, NL on Saturday, March 6, 2010. Interment followed from The Salvation Army Cemetery, Woodstock, NL. Pallbearers were: Henry Mitchell, Harry Mitchell, Boyce Mitchell, Mackenzie Mitchell, Pierce Mitchell, and Rex Mitchell. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Homes, Baie Verte.

WARD, ERIC DOUGLAS
1931-2010

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eric Douglas Ward announces his passing at the Green Bay Health Care Center in Springdale on March 5, 2010 at the age of 78. Eric was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 47, Labrador City. Eric retired from Iron Ore Company of Canada, Labrador City. Predeceased by his father, George Ward; mother, Elsie Cave; step-father, Jessie Cave; brother, Gordon Cave and sisters, Bertha Lane and Barbara Ward. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Joyce; son, Douglas of Victoria, B.C. and daughters: Loretta Arsenault (Rene) of Three Rivers, Quebec and Dianne Bailey (Rick) of Brighton. Also leaving to mourn brothers: Jim Cave (Rosalind), Ross Cave (Norma); sisters: Lena Cave and Violet Thomas (Alfred); three grandchildren: Pat, Craig and Katleen; three great grandchildren: Dylan, Lea and Nathan; step-brother, George Cave (Winnie); step-sister, Meta Dawe, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Majors Larry and Phyllis Fudge conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel in Triton on March 9, 2010. Interment was at the Interfaith Cemetery in Brighton. Pallbearers were Rick Bailey, Ambrose Noseworthy, Neil Bridger, Hayward Fudge, Terry Fudge and Tom Murray. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

VINCENT, HARVEY FREEMAN
1932-2010

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Harvey Vincent announces his passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on March 6, 2010 at the age of 77. Harvey was a member of the Salvation Army Corps in Robert's Arm. Harvey retired from Abitibi Price. Predeceased by infant son, Paul; parents, Norman and Janet Vincent and brothers, Ronald and Bramwell. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Shirley; sons: Hank (Trudy) of Robert's Arm, Travis (Paula) of Robert's Arm, Conn (Paulette) of Robert's Arm; daughter: Beverly (Bruce Fudge) of Robert's Arm, Bonnie (Gilbert Fudge) of Grand Falls, Jewel (Dean Short) of Sussex, N.B., Michele (Dennis Fifield) of Sussex, N.B. Also leaving to mourn brothers: Otto and Gordon Vincent; grandchildren: Robbie, Michael, Jenny Fudge; Heather Patten, Paul Vincent; Shannon, Amanda, Julie Fudge; Chad and Christopher short; Matthew and Stephanie Fifield; Victoria, Dylan, Jeremy, Zachary, Riley Vincent as well as 10 great grandchildren. Captain Canning conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel in Robert's Arm on March 10, 2010. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers were Michael Fudge, Shannon Fudge, Dylan Vincent, Amanda Fudge, Jenny Fudge, Julie Fudge. Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

RICE, OTTO PEARCE
1929-2010

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Otto Pearce Rice announces his passing at the Green Bay Health Care Center in Springdale on March 7, 2010 at the age of 80. Otto was a member of the Salvation Army Corps in Pilley's Island. Predeceased by his wife, Daphne Rice. Left with fond and loving memories are his sons: Cordswell (Angela) of Happy Valley, Goode Bay and Sherman (Deborah) of Mt. Pearl; daughter JoAnn of Pilley's Island. Also leaving to mourn brothers: Fred Oxford (Floss), Roy Oxford; sister: Ethel Roberts (Jack); grandchildren: Derrick (Chantale), Jennifer, Adam and devoted dog, Maggie. Captain Bradley Oxford conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel in Pilley's Island on March 10, 2010. Interment was at the Pilley's Island Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harold Colbourne, Wilbert Roberts, Gerald Anthony, Brad Anthony, Arthur Anstey and Bill Vincent. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear, Marilyn Stuckless and Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.

PADDOCK, JULIA EDITH TRIVAL
June 3, 1930-March 17, 2010

It is with sadness that the family of the late Julia Edith Paddock, Robert's arm announce her passing on March 17, 2010, at the age of 79. She was born June 3, 1930 to Mack and Susanna Ryan, Pilley's Island. She married Samuel Lloyd Paddock on December 28, 1956 and together they raised eight children. Her career of choice was housewife and mother. Sadly, she was predeceased by son Glosson (1964) and husband Lloyd (2001). She leaves to mourn seven children - four sons Roland (Patricia) Thunder Bay, ON; Raymond (Tina), Hamilton, ON; Arlanda (Lin, Cdr Canadian Navy) Halifax, NS; Stanley James, Robert's Arm, NL; three daughters Iris Paddock Delmore, Nashua, NH; Avis (Dwight) Moores, Omemee, ON; and Lorraine (Jerdon) Hewlett, Barrie, ON; 15 grandchildren - Braden, Ian, Alexander, Lelani Delmore; Joanne Hart (Moores), Jeffrey Moores; Dale, Josie, Melissa Paddock; Glosson, Julia, Samuel, Emily Paddock; Jordon, Matthew Hewlett; also great-grandchildren - Julia Hart and Sheldon Hewlett; sister Myrtle, brother Donald (Pearl) Ryan; sisters-in-law Clemmie and Stella Ryan; brother-in-law Albert (Gladys) Paddock; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Lieut. Tina Dominaux conducted the funeral service from the Salvation army Citadel, Robert's Arm with interment following at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers were sons Ray, Lin, Jim, daughters Avis, Lorraine, granddaughter Joanne Hart, and grandson Jeffrey Moores. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gail Noel and Leander Hewlett of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.

FOOTE, LARRY HAROLD
Nipper's Harbour, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Larry Harold Foote, age 51, announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook, NL on Thursday, March 18, 2010. Predeceased by his father - Harold Foote; paternal grandparents - Edward & Azela Foote; maternal grandparents - William & Mary Noble; uncles - Robert Noble, Rudy Noble, William French & Ron Snow. Left with fond and loving memories are his mother - June Foote, Nipper's Harbour, NL; sisters - Linda Foote (Jerry Mosher), and Kathy Pittman (Keith), both of Corner Brook, NL and Lorelei Foote (Jeff Ricker), Beaverdam, NB; nephews - Joshua & Jordan Pittman; aunts and uncles - Josie Mclean (Roy), Clara French, Olive Snow, Eric Foote (Millie), Hester Prole (Roy), Greta Osbourne (Warrick), Marie Noble; many cousins; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. OXFORD, GLADYS LOUISE
1932-2010

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gladys Louise Oxford announces her passing at the Green Bay Health Care Center in Springdale on March 22, 2010 at the age of 78. Predeceased by her husband, Clayton Oxford. Left with fond and loving memories are her sons: Clifford (Darlene) of Springdale, Jerry (Karen) of St. John's, Jimmy of Springdale and Michael (Kerry) of Calgary and daughter, Maureen (Glen) of Fort McMurray. Also leaving to mourn grandsons: William and Cole; sisters: Evangeline and Greta; brothers: Alfred, Arthur and Gerald. Majors Gerald and Doreen Lacey will conduct the funeral service from the Salvation Army Citadel in Springdale on Thursday, March 25, 2010. Interment will be at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers are Gerald Milley, Roy Oxford, Garland Foss, Elmo Jenkins, Wincel Oxford and Tony Oxford. HEATH, ROLAND JETHRO
1916-2010

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Roland Jethro Heath announces his passing at the Green Bay Health Care Center in Springdale on March 26, 2010 at the age of 94. Roland Heath was a member of the Beaumont United Church. Roland Heath retired from Long Island Co-op. Predeceased by his parents and his three brothers. Left with fond and loving memories are his nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Minister Joan Brinston conducted the funeral service from the United Church in Beaumont on March 29, 2010. Interment was at the United Church Cemetery in Beaumont. Pallbearers were Leslie Hurley, Clyde Croucher, Scott Slade, Hedley Croucher, Gilbert Burton and Randolph Burton. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

OAKE, ALICE
October 17, 1935 - March 27, 2010

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alice Oake announces her passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on March 27, 2010 at the age of 74. Alice was a member of the United Church. Predeceased by her parents: Dorman and Lucy Ball; sisters: Rowena Rowsell and Frances Forward; and brother, Clifford Ball. Left with fond and loving memories are her husband, Leslie of Pilley's Island; sons: Dwayne of British Columbia, Leslie of Ontario; and daughter: Dana of Pilley's Island. Also leaving to mourn grandson, Cody; granddaughters: Stephanie and Cynthia; sisters: Myrna Hoffe (Harvey), Lillian Blundon (Alfred); brothers: Wendell ball (Margaret), Harry Ball (Marjorie), Bryce Ball (Elizabeth); as well as a large number of nieces, nephews and friends. Reverend Joan Brinton, assisted by Captain Bradley Oxford conducted the funeral service from The Salvation Army Citadel in Pilley's Island on March 31, 2010. Interment was in the United Church Cemetery in Pilley's Island. Pallbearers are Dwayne Oake (Son), Leslie Oake (Son), Wycliffe Boyd (Friend), Gary Anthony (Nephew), Norman Whyatt (Friend), and Edward Dawe (Brother-in-law). Honorary pallbearer is Cody Oake-Croucher (Grandson). Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

MARTIN, WILLIAM LEWIS

Rev. Bruce Rideout conducted the funeral service from First United Church and Cemetery, Shoe Cove, NL on Friday, April 2, 2010. Pallbearers were Jerry Martin, Richard Martin, Kevin Martin, Brian Martin, John Hoddinott, and Paul Toms. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.
