MATTHEWS, LINDY MAXWELL GLENDON
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lindy Maxwell Glendon Matthews announce his passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home, Springdale on March 2, 2004, at the age of 69. Lindy was a member of the Pentecostal Calvery Tabernacle. He retired from logging in 1998. Predeceased by parents Augustus and Henrietta Matthews; brothers Johnny, Malcolm and Frederick and sister Margaret. Left with fond and loving memories are wife Jessie (nee Shiner); sons Melvin (Bride), Marathon, ON, Roger (Betty), South Brook and Vaden (Lorraine), Fort McMurray, AB; daughters Karen (Derrick Rideout), King's Point and Brenda (Leonard Bennett, Beachside. Also leaving to mourn brothers Edward (Daisy), Ernest (Eileen) and Gerald (Pauline); sisters Marie (Winston), Betty (Lester), Lorraine (Frank) and Gladelle (Ivor); 16 grand children and seven great grandchildren. Pastor Harmun conducted the funeral services at the Pentecostal Church and Cemetery, South Brook on March 5, 2004. Pallbearers were grandchildren Kristopher Spurrell, Rodney Matthews, Krista Spurrell, Melvin Bennett, Jamie Matthews and Kent Rideout.

CROUCHER, JENNIE
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jennie Elizabeth Croucher announce her passing a the Valley Vista Home, Springdale on March 5, 2004 at the age of 78. Predeceased by husband Hubert. Left with fond and loving memories are sons Dorman (Joan), Springdale, Rex (Ruby), South Brook, Nat (Verna), South Brook, Pleman (Elsie), Lushes Bight, Larry (Violet), South Brook,, Dennis (Melody), Fort McMurray, AB and David (Barbara), South Brook; daughters Stella (Wayne), Lewisporte, Patricia (Arthur), Campbell River, BC, Rita (Junior), South Brook, Tassie (Frank), South Brook and Tammy (Boyd), King's Point. Also leaving to mourn sister Myrtle; brother Frank; 32 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Pastor Harnum conducted the funeral services at the Pentecostal Church and Cemetery, South Brook on March 9, 2004. Pallbearers were Rodney Doody, Jeremy Croucher, Jason Fowlow, Jeff Doody, Peter Croucher, Amy Croucher. Melinda Croucher and Tamar Croucher

DECKER, FRANCIS JR.
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Francis Decker Jr., age 78, announce his passing at the family residence in Woodstock on Friday, March 12, 2004. Predeceased by his parents Percival and Mary Decker; step-sister Mary Ivany; step brothers William and Joseph Decker. Left with fond and loving memories are wife Viola; children Francis (Elaine), Gander Bay, Paul (Rhoda), Woodstock, Connie Norman (Craig), Woodstock, Donald (Connie), Baie Verte, Dawn May (Douglas), Lethbridge, AB, Sherry Regular (Alvin), Ming's Bight, Katherine Randell (Jeffrey), Woodstock, Andrew Fudge who resided with him and became a very special part of the family; foster children Guy LeDrew, Gerald Coates, Perry Coates, Trudy Gillard and many other foster children who spent short stays at his home. Also leaving to mourn are 13 grandchildren; one great grandchild; sister Ruby Ruth, Corner Brook; step-sister Beulah Wells, Corner Brook; step brothers Samuel Decker (Lizzy) and Francis Decker Sr. and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Hubert Tucker conducted the funeral service at Faith United Church and Cemetery, Woodstock on Monday, March 15, 2004. Pallbearers were Paul Decker, Donald Decker, Gerald Coates, Craig Norman, Jeffrey Randall and Alvin Regular.

BOWNES, RITA T.
It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Rita T. Bownes (nee Fowlow) announce her passing at the Valley Vista, Springdale on March 13, 2004 at the age of 80. Rita was a member of the United Pentecostal Church. Predeceased by husbands Joshua Fowlow and George Bownes; children Evelyn, Mary-Lou and Jeffrey. Left with fond and loving memories are sons Mervin (Lorraine), Mississauga, ON, Eric (Jeanette), Springdale, Frederick (Ruth), Marystown, Roy (Rosetta), Codroy, Alexander (Marion), Springdale, Freeman (Maryanne), Sudbury, ON and Wallace (Elaine), Brampton,On; daughters Marion Hastings, Kingston, ON, Avis Laing, Sudbury, Verna Raycove (Joseph), Oshawa, ON, Patrica Prichard, Mississauga, ON, Jaunita Barrett (Frank), Scarborough, ON, Maxine Ozon (Gerald), Mississauga, ON, Barbara Tait (Geoffrey), Richmond Hill , ON. Also leaving to mourn 39 grandchildren and 36 great grand children. Funeral services were held at the Springdale Pentecostal Church on March 16, 2004. Pallbearers were Mervin, Eric, Frederick, Roy, Alexander, Freeman and Wallace Fowlow.

BATSTONE, AMELIA MAUDE
Passed peacefully away March 13, 2004 at BVPHC, Amelia Maude Batstone of Nipper's Hr. She was a homemaker. Predeceased by husband Selby; parents William and Gertrude Randell; brothers Claude and Ralph. Left to mourn are son Lester (Elsie), Nipper's Hr. ; daughters Sylvia (Jonas), Nipper's Hr and Verna, Peterborough, ON. Also leaving to mourn two sisters-in-law, Grace Randell, Springdale and Grace Norman, Barrie, On; eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Hubert Tucker conducted the funeral service at the United Church, Nipper's Hr on Tuesday, March 16, 2004. Interment was at the United Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Shawn Batstone, Rick Andrews, Keith Norman, Rex Starkes, Larry Starkes and Fraser Tilley.
