BAIE VERTE

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Frank Lane, age 73, announce his passing at his family residence in Baie Verte on March 1, 2001. Frank was an active member of the Masonic Lodge in Baie Verte since 1979. Predeceased by his brother Thomas. Left with fond and loving memories are: wife - Gwendolyn; son Terry (Yvonne), St. John's; daughters - Tana Goudie (Dwight), Burlington, Toby Decker (Earl), Mount Pearl and Trudy Sooley (Rod), Milltown; grandchildren - Stacey and Erin Lane, Ryan and Rex Goudie, Sarah and Stephanie Decker, Leah and Michael Sooley; brothers - Fred (Betty) Lane, Caleb (Sadie) Lane and Rex (Marion) Lane; sisters - Flossie Luff (Wylie) and Violet Curtis; sister-in-law - Grace Lane and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Marilyn Avery conducted funeral services at the Bethany United Church and Cemetery, Baie Verte on Sunday, March 4, 2001. Pallbearers were Allan Cramm, Gary Norman, Carson Snelgrove, Gus Roberts, Jack Shea and Ellis Stuckless.

PARSONS, HUBERT C.
LUSHES BIGHT

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hubert C. Parsons announce his passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on March 3, 2001 at the age of 91. Hubert retired from Fishery Products, Twillingate in 1977. Predeceased by his wile Winnie and daughters Joan - March 29, 1960, and Elsie - February 10, 1999. Left with fond and loving memories are: sons Albert (Lillian) of Roberts Arm, Elmo (Madeline) of Lushes Bight, Fred (Betty) of Roberts Arm; daughters Bessie Reid (Doug) of St. Philips, Ruby Hudson (Ed) of Edmonton, AB, Betty Morgan (Ed) of Chamberlains, and Margaret lvany (Gavin) of Nepean. ON. Also leaving to mourn; 32 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Hubert Tucker conducted funeral services at the Beaumont United Church on Tues., Mar. 6, 2001.

SIMMS (NOBLE), HAZEL ELIZABETH
NIPPERS HR.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hazel Elizabeth Simms (Noble), age 85, announce her passing at the Valley Vista Senior Citizens Complex, Springdale on Saturday, March 3, 2001. Predeceased by her first husband Allan Noble; second husband Johnny Simms and son Roy Noble. Left with fond and loving memories are: sons - Bruce (Marie) Noble and Wallace (Mildred) Noble both of Nipper's Hr.; daughter-in-law Muriel Noble, King's Point; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; special nephew - Hubert Colbourne (Winnifred), St. Anthony and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Clara Barnes conducted the funeral services at Nipper's Hr. United Church and Cemetery on Monday, March 5, 2001. Pallbearers were grandsons - Maurice Noble, Corey Noble, Clyde Noble, Bobby Noble, Allan Noble and Morris Noble.

MOORE, HARRY WELLS
HARRY'S HR

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Harry Wells Moore announce his passing at the Springdale Hospital on March 10, 2001 at the age of 75, Harry was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Predeceased by: his father Ralph Moore; father-in-law Edward King, mother-in-law Selina King; grandparents John and Jane Wells and John and Phoebe Moore; and great grandson Jordan Moore. Left with fond and loving memories are: wife Rachel; sons - Stephen (Maxine) of Harry's Harbour, Maurice (Theresa) of Lively, ON and Philip Ann) of Harry's Harbour; daughters Linda (Chesley Rideout) of Kelowna, B.C.; Una (Carl England) of Harry's Harbour and Sandra (Kevin Hann) of Goose Bay, Labrador, Also leaving to mourn; mother Nellie Moore: brother Eric (wife Betty) of Harry's Harbour; sister Marion (husband Edgar Skanes) of St. Johns; In-laws Charlie and Doris King, Hazel King and Leslie and Doris Bowers; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rev. Russell Lodge conducted the funeral service at the United Church, Harry's Harbour. Interment was at the Community Cemetery, Harry's Harbour. Pallbearers were Ray King, Bill French, Carl Gillard, Paul Bursey. Larry Moss and Bruce White. Ushers were Dave Connolly and Leslie Bowers.

COLBOURNE, THOMAS WILLIAM -
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Thomas William Colbourne announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Hospital, Grand Falls-Windsor on March 14, 2001 at the age of 82. Mr. Colbourne was a member of the Salvation Army and retired from Abitibi-Price. Predeceased by his parents, four sisters and two brothers. Left with fond and loving memories are: wife Ada; sons Aubrey (Sandra), Triton, Morris (Phyllis), Baltimore, Maryland, Dean (Sylvia), Triton, Duane (Doreen) of CFOT St John's and Craig (Mona), Robert's Arm. Also leaving to mourn: brother Fred; 13 grandchildren, one great grandchild and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Lt. Hopkins conducted the funeral service and interment at the Salvation Army Church, Pilley's Island on March 17, 2001. Pallbearers were sons: Aubrey, Dean, Duane, Craig and grandsons Jerry and Johnny.

NORMAN, EMILY ELIZABETH
PACQUET

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Emily Elizabeth Norman, age 89, announce her passing at her daughter's residence in Springdale on Wednesday, March 14, 2001. Predeceased by: he husband Willis; sons Ford and Byron; son-in-law Jim Locke and grandchildren - Jerome, Boyd, Rosalind, April and Glenda. Left with fond and loving memories are: sons Harvey (Ruby), Pacquet, Glen (Melvie), Nain, Newton (Alma), Baie Verte, Boyd (Una), Brampton, ON, Graham (Ruth), Woodstock, Billy (Nancy), Gander; daughters Velma (Bert) Rideout, Pacquet, Rowena Locke, Springdale, Peggy (Guy) Morey, Leaf Rapids, MB, Judy (Sid) Mugford, Brampton, ON, Wavey (Don) Crane, Gander and daughter-in-law Shirley Norman, Gander. Also leaving to mourn: sister Myrtle Fudge, Baie Verte; 49 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Lionel Miles conducted the funeral service at Harvest Time Pentecostal Church and Cemetery, Pacquet on Sunday, March 18, 2001. Pallbearers were grandsons - Craig Norman, Corwin Norman, Glen Norman, Neil Norman, Merle Norman and Cory Norman.

MERCER, TONY WADE
SPRINGDALE

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Tony Wade Mercer announce his passing at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on March 19, 2001 at the age of 38. Predeceased by his father Alvin Mercer. Left with fond and loving memories are: wife Brenda and son Quentin of Springdale. Also leaving to mourn: his mother Marjorie; brother Darin (Cassie); step-sister Peggy Sue (Morley); step-brothers Steven (Dianna) and Paul and step-father Morris. Pastor H. P. Foster conducted the funeral service at the Springdale Pentecostal Church on March 21, 2001. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Grant Ave. Pallbearers were Basil Saunders, Jeff Noble, Leonard Pollett, Rupert Locke, Eugene Rice and Moody Hewlett.

CAMPBELL, CHESLEY
ROBERT'S ARM

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Chesley Campbell announce his passing at his home in Robert's Arm on March 21, 2001 at the age of 68. Mr. Campbell was a member of the Salvation Army Church. Predeceased by: parents Daniel and Myrtle Campbell; daughter Melvina; sister Doreen; brothers John and Bert. Left with fond and loving memories are: wife Annie (nee Morey) Campbell; sons - Edward (Shelley), Kitchener, ON, Darrell (Kelly), Brampton, ON, Sonny also of Brampton, ON and Rocky (Elizabeth), Corner Brook; daughters - Eileen (Gerald), Brampton, ON, Karen, Robert's Arm and Joanne (Chris), Mississauga, ON. Also leaving to mourn: brothers Maxwell, Daniel and Jim, all of Robert's Arm sisters Mimie Oake and Jessie Ryan of Robert's Arm; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Capt. Austin and Lillian Randell conducted the funeral service at the Pentecostal Church on March 25, 2001. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Robert's Arm. Pallbearers were Don Ryan, Ross Rideout, Albert Colbourne, Bram Rice, Baxter Roberts and Harold Hillyard.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alice Mary Alyward, age 82, announce her passing at the BVPHC on Friday, March 23, 2001. Predeceased by: husband - William, parents - Michael and Emeline Wiseman; and son Basil. Left with fond and loving memories are: sons - Aloysius (Genevieve), Fleur De Lys, William, Fort McMurray, Michael (Cathy), Baie Verte, Patrick, Fleur De Lys and Dave (Gemma), Fleur De Lys; daughters - Emeline (Keith) Barnes, Stony Creek, ON, Ann (Joseph) Barrett, Sparwood, BC, Mary Barrett (Phillip Matthews), Baie Verte, Helen Alyward, Baie Verte, Alice (Delbert) McShane, Edmonton and Carolyn (Danny) MacBride, Hamilton, ON; sons-in-law - Jack Alyward, Hamilton, ON and Gerald Barrett, Fleur De Lys. Also leaving to mourn are: sisters - Catherine Walsh and Mary Williams; brother - William (Annie) Wiseman; sisters-in-law Catherine Shea, Anne Traverse and Rita Blyth; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her dear and special friends - the Baie Verte Health Centre Residential Care residents and staff and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Edward Brophy conducted the funeral mass at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, Fleur De Lys on Monday, March 26, 2001. Interment followed at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Cemetery, Baie Verte. Pallbearers were Gerald Barrett, Jeff Alyward, Chris Alyward, Anthony Traverse, Billy Shea, Len Walsh, Andy Dempsey, Mick Lewis and the crossbearer was Tom Downey.

ROBERTS, E. RUTH -
Passed away Sunday, March 25, 2001, peacefully, E. Ruth Roberts at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville, NF. She was 76 years of age. Mrs. Roberts retired from teaching. Predeceased by husband, Donald S. in 1998, and sister, Mary Marks. Left to mourn son, Bruce, Stephenville; daughter, Bride, Bedford, NS. Also leaving to mourn two grandchildren, Laura Broderick and Donna White; two great-grandchildren, Brian White and Matthew Broderick and a large circle of relatives and friends. Capt. Robert Reid conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel, Triton on Wednesday, March 28, 2001. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Triton.

PARDY, HARRIS MANUEL
(Formerly of Wild Cove)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Harris Manuel Pardy, age 49, announce his passing at the Stanton Regional Hospital, Yellowknife, NWT on Wednesday, March 28, 2001. Predeceased by father - Garland and brother - Gerald. Left with a lifetime of beautiful and loving memories are: wife - Janice, Yellowknife, NWT; daughter Sherry Pardy (James Washington), Florida; son - Peter (Penny Beaugrand) and grandson - Chance, Yellowknife, NWT; Mother - Rachel Pardy, Wild Cove; sisters - Nita Dingwall (Gary), Collingwood, ON, Brenda Pinksen (Larry), Kim Sacrey (Wayne), both of Wild Cove; brothers - Glenn Pardy (Deborah), Baie Verte, Carl Pardy (Excie), Stayner, ON, Earl Pardy (Sherry Young), Wasaga Beach, ON and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Glen Clarke and Pastor Hayward Primmer conducted the funeral service at Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church, Wild Cove on Monday, April 2, 2001. Cremation followed. Pallbearers were son Peter Pardy, sisters - Nita Dingwall, Brenda Pinksen and Kim Sacrey, brothers Glen Pardy, Carl Pardy and Earl Pardy.

ROBERTS, LORI -
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lori Roberts announce her passing at the McKeller Hospital, Thunder Bay on March 29, 2001 at the age of 29. Left with fond and loving memories is husband Dwayne Roberts. Also left to mourn: parents Fred and Ruth Colbourne; sisters Lisa and Denise; brother Mike; father and mother-in-law Jerome and Barbara Roberts; and sister-in-law Lori Roberts. Pastor Wayne Noble conducted the funeral service at the Word of Life Tabernacle on April 2, 2001. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ricky Hewlett, Rob Hewlett, Richard Mitchell, Brian Osmond, Greg Roberts and Chris Morgan.

ASHBOURNE, ALBERT (BERT)
TWILLINGATE

Passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2001 Albert (Bert) Ashbourne of Twillingate, aged 70 years. Leaving to mourn wife Joyce; children - Catherine (Fred) MacLean, Harry (Susan) Thelma, David (Sharon); nine grandchildren; sisters Bessie (Mark) Stuckless and Joan (Tom) Baird and Aunt Helen Ashbourne. Mr. Ashbourne leaves a large number of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services was at St. Andrew's Anglican Church on Wednesday, April 4, 2001.
