BURTON, ROLAND EDWARD,
LA SCIE

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Roland Edward Burton, age 84, announce his passing at the BVPHC on Sunday, June 2, 2002. Predeceased by his parents Andrew and Annie Burton; sisters May and Cavell and brothers Randolph, Wellington and Don. Left with fond and loving memories are wife Marie; sons Roy (Audrey), Clayton (Donna) both of La Scie, Melvin (Rita), Leading Tickles and Karl, La Scie and daughter Jeanette Burton (Ross), Springdale. Also leaving to mourn 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brothers Pasco, Fred and Henry; sisters Marion, Flossie, Mabel, Elizabeth, Ruby and Pearl; Aunt Katie Burton and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. George Kean conducted the funeral service at Zion United Church and Cemetery, La Scie on Wednesday, June 5, 2002. Pallbearers were Roy Burton, Clayton Burton, Melvin Burton, Jeanette Burton, Ross Burton and Rick Burton.

PENNEY, DAPHNE FRANCES
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Daphne Frances Penney announce her passing at the GBHC, Springdale on June 3, 2002 at the age of 76. Daphne retired from the Green Bay Health Care Centre. Predeceased by her parents Ishmael and Pearl Matthews. Left with fond and loving memories are companion Sidney Burt; sons Ishmael (Diana), 100 Mile House, BC; Jerry (Katie), Oakville, ON and Perry (Heather), St. John's. Also leaving the mourn five grandchildren and one great grandchild; special friends Verna Huxter, Sadie Huxter, Golda Burton, Dorothy Osmond, Ida Burton, the Burt family and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Marion Davis conducted the funeral service at the Grace United Church and Cemetery on June 7, 2002. Pallbearers were Verna Huxter, Sadie Huxter, Wanda Huxter, Jerry Penney, Perry Penney and Sam Huxter.

BURTON, JAMIE MARK - 39 of Torbrook Mines died June 3, 2002 at the QEII Health Science Centre Infirmary Site, Halifax. Born in South Brook, NF, he was a son of Neville and Doris Burton. He was a member of Canadian Forces 413 Search and rescue Squadron, 14 Wing, Greenwood. He was also a member of Neighbourhood Watch, Torbrook. Surviving are his wife, Kimberly Fortin; sisters Barbara (Raymond) Palmer, Robert's Arm. Neva (Aurele) Beaupre, Hawke's Bay, Doris Burton (Stephen), South Brook; brothers Bob (Wanda), Labrador City, Tex (Brenda), South Brook, Scott, Deer Lake; four nieces and three nephews. Memorial service was held at Queen of Heaven, 14 Wing, Greenwood, Padre Derrick Marshall officiating.

MAY, CLAUDE,
SNOOK'S ARM

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Claude May, age 87, announce his passing at the BVPHC on Monday, June 3, 2002. Predeceased by his parents James and Hettie May and a number of sisters and brothers. Left with fond and loving memories are wife Audrey; sons Melvin (Bonnie), La Scie and Winston (Sadie), Seal Cove; daughters Juanita Olafson (Eric), Salt lake City, Utah and Joan Snow (Wayne), La Scie. Also leaving to mourn brother harvey May, Montreal; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. George Kean conducted the funeral service at Zion United Church and Cemetery, La Scie on Thursday, June 6, 2002. Pallbearers were George Dicks, Ted Foote, William Brown, Ray Dicks, Norman Stuckless and Gordon Rice.

REGULAR, ALLAN BENSON
Passed peacefully away, June 4, 2002, Allan Benson Regular, at the BVPHC, Baie Verte. He was 80 years of age. Mr. Regular retired from Hope Brook Mines in 1985 and was a member of CSM at the Salvation Army. Predeceased by son Guy; brother Herman; father Stewart and mother Irene. Left to mourn are wife Dora; sons Robert (Doreen), Mississauga, ON, Gilbert (Maisie), Ming's Bight, Roland (Joan), St. John's and Terry (Wavey), Newcastle, NB; daughters Leah (Dave Wight), Fort MacMurray, AB and Sylvia, Toronto, ON. Also leaving to mourn sisters Muriel (Esau Patey) and Marjorie (Warrick Pinksen); brothers Harold and Maxwell (Marie). Also leaving to mourn 11 grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Captain Leonard R. MacKenzie conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army, Ming's Bight on Friday, June 7, 2002. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gilbert, Roland, Terry, Jay, Dion and Lyndon.

NOSEWORTHY, STANLEY HARRISON,
BRIGHTON

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Stanley Harrison Noseworthy, age 79, announce his passing at the GBHC, Springdale on June 5, 2002 after a lengthy illness. Left with fond and loving memories are wife Neta; sons Lorne (Wavey), Austin (Golda), Ambrose (Bonnie), all of Brighton Larry and Sheldon, both of Leaf Rapids, MB and daughter Sylvia Hibbs (Roy), Leaf Rapids, MB. Also leaving to mourn brothers Major Hayward Noseworthy and Fred Noseworthy; 12 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; stepsons Ford (Ida), Brighton, Melvin (Geraldine), St. John's, Calvin (Loretta), St. John's, Laurence (Monda), St. John's and Allister (Sandra), Triton; stepdaughters Gwen (Lloyd), Triton, Joy (Elwood), St. John's, Connie (David), Brighton and Tracey, British Columbia. Captain Robert Spurrell conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Church, Brighton on Saturday, June 8, 2002. Interment was at the Brighton Community Cemetery. Pallbearers were Janice, Cyril and Javis Noseworthy, Wilmore and Paul Henstridge and Joshua Bartlett.

BROPHY, CHARLES B.,
SPRINGDALE

Passed peacefully away June 20, 2002, Charles B. Brophy at the Springdale Hospital. He was 72 years of age. Mr. Brophy retired from Brophy's Enterprises in 1995. Predeceased by his son Kevin. Left to mourn are wife Nina W. Brophy; sons Charlie (Michelle), Springdale, Joe (Denise), Fermuse, Ted (Linda), Halifax, NS, Vince (Glenda), Brampton, ON, Phil (Wanda), Waterloo, ON and Bruce (Michelle), Springdale. daughters Joan (Allison Pitcher), Baie Verte, Vera (John Reese), Elkford, BC, Bernetta (Mike), Brampton, ON, Judy (Larry Goudie), Seal Cove, F.B. and Mary (Shawn Burton), Lloydminister, SK. Also leaving to mourn sisters Mary, Hannah, and Joan (Leonard); brothers Mike, Steve, Jerome and Philip; 23 grandchildren; four great grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Eugene Morris conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army, Springdale on Monday, June 24, 2002. Interment was at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Springdale. Pallbearers were Joe, Phil, Bruce, Vince, Anthony and Eugene.

UPWARD, HELEN
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Helen Upward announce her passing at the CNRHC, Grand Falls-Windsor on June 30, 2002. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the United Church and the UCW. Predeceased by her mother, father, sister and brother. Left with fond and loving memories are husband, Leonard; sons Brian (Lorna), Springdale and Ian (Janet), Barrie, ON; daughters Jewel (Dean Rowsell), Rattling Brook, Hilda (Barry King), Deer Lake and Gloria (Chuck McLuckie), Barrie, ON. Also leaving to mourn sisters Lena, Nan and Catherine; brothers Willie, Alan and Ian; 16 grandchildren; four great grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Lodge conducted the funeral service at the United Church, Harry's Hr on July 2, 2002. Interment was at the United Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jerry Upward, Dick Caravan, Eric Sharpe, Paul King, Elmo Upward and Roy Lacey
