MOREY, CAPTAIN CYRIL JAMES
Point Leamington, NL (formerly of La Scie, NL)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Captain Cyril James Morey, age 81, announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Wednesday, February 3, 2010. Predeceased by his sons - Irving Morey, Dennis Morey, Craig Morey, and Otto Morey; parents - Pearce & Mabel Morey; brother - Percy Morey. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife - Captain Nellie Morey, Point Leamington, NL; children - Lorne Morey (Olive), Baie Verte, NL, Roger (Minnie), La Scie, NL, and Brenda Morey, Cranbrook, MC; daughter-in-law - Kathy Morey, Cranbrook, BC; grandchildren - Chad Sullivan; Kayla Morey (Mike Domalain) and Tanya Dyer; Kristi Morey (Jordan Tekye) and Riley Morey; great-grandchildren - Cayden Morey; Jordan & Jena-Lee King; sisters - Ruby Martin (Jakey), La Scie, NL, and Ivy Monk (Len), Burlington, ON; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Majors Arley & Darlene Masters and Captains Richard & Trudy Mouland conducted the funeral service at The Salvation Army Citadel and Cemetery, La Scie, NL on Saturday, February 6, 2010. Pallbearers were Walt Martin, Cecil Jewer, Lester Giles, Bert Janes, Clayton Hemeon, and Terry Morey, and the honourary pallbearer was Lloyd Morey. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

YOUNG, SCOTT JOHN
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Scott John Young announce his passing at the Health Science Centre in St. John's on February 3, 2010 at the age of 56 years 11 months. Scott was a member of Beachside Pentecostal Tabernacle. He earned his living from the sea as an inshore fisherman. Predeceased by his father, Gordon; brother, Albert; grandparents: Samuel and Elsie Young and John and Blanche Webber. Left with precious memories are his wife, Elizabeth, his wonderful son Jonathan and loving mother, Jacqueline. He also leaves with fond and loving memories: his brothers: Neil (Greta), (Beachside, NL), Samuel (Eileen), (St. John's, NL), Jerry, (Terrace Bay, ON), Dennis (Terry), (Marathon, ON), Randy (Susan), (Kitchener, ON), Edward (Karen), (Manitouwadge, ON), and his sisters: Myrtle (Ronald) Henniffent, (Beachside, NL), Madge (Zul) Premji, (Markham, ON), Ruby (Rex) Croucher, (South Brook, NL). Remaining behind, his mother-in-law, Myrna Moulton (Deer Lake, NL), brothers-in-law Monty (Kay) Brown, (St. John's, NL), David (Cindy) Brown, (Deer Lake, NL), Darryl (Stephanie) Brown, (Brampton, ON) and sisters-in-law: Daphne (Jerry) Foote, (Fort McMurray, AB), Carol (John) Druggett (Kippens, NL), Sharon Joyce (Brampton, ON); his wonderful nieces and nephews, all who were dearly loved. Aunts and uncles Netta Schmitz, Lloyd (Margaret) Webber, Daphne (Paul) Russell, Winslow (Doreena) Ball, Robert (Irene) Ball, Nick (Betty) Ball and other relatives and friends. Pastor George Coles conducted the home going celebration service at Bethel Pentecostal Tabernacle, on February 7, 2010. Interment was at the Beachside Cemetery. Pallbearers were his brothers: Neil, Samuel, Jerry, Dennis, Randy, and Edward. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes, Springdale.

TAYLOR, ELMO WENDELL
1944-2010

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elmo W. Taylor announces his passing at his home in Springdale on February 5, 2010 at the age of 65 years. Elmo was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and the Knights of Columbus. Predeceased by his parents, George and Louise Taylor; parents-in-law, Jack and Annie Mercer and brothers-in-law, Richard Hayes and Shawn Mercer. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Kathleen and sons: Michael (Tammy) of Paradise and Ian (Mandy) of Brandon, Manitoba. Also leaving to mourn grandchildren, Eric, Danika and Camerin; two sisters, two brothers and their spouses; four sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law and their spouses as well as a large number of nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends. Father Eugene Morris conducted the funeral service at the Sacred Heart Parish in St. Patrick's on February 9, 2010. Interment was at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Pallbearers were Edsel Taylor, brother; Brian Mercer, brother-in-law; Denis Mercer, brother-in-law; Bernie Flynn, friend; Jeff Simms, friend and Ron Drover, brother-in-law. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Mike Goodyear, Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

BURTON, LINDA RUTH
1946-2010

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Linda Ruth Burton announces her passing at the Green Bay Health Care Center in Springdale on February 6, 2010 at the age of 63. Linda was a member of the Word of Life Tabernacle of Robert's arm and a member of Women's Ministries. Predeceased by her father, Jim Hibbs and mother, Rowena Hibbs. Left with fond and loving memories are her husband, Howard Burton; son, Todd Burton (Deanne) of Robert's arm and daughter, Marsha Roberts (Rockey) of Triton. Also leaving to mourn brother, Wesley (June) Hibbs; grandchildren: Alexander, Nathan, Christian, Clarke; and special friends, Rose Paddock and Elsie Saunders. Pastors Robert and Geraldine Paddock conducted the funeral service from the Word of Life Tabernacle in Robert's arm on February 10, 2010. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers were Alexander Burton, Gerald Saunders, Brad Rideout, Robert Burton, Chad Hibbs and Rockey Roberts. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

CLARKE, DESMOND GEORGE
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Desmond George Clarke announce his passing at the Green Bay Health Care Centre in Springdale on February 7, 2010 at the age of 83. Desmond Clarke was a member of the Salvation Army Springdale Corps. Desmond George Clarke retired from carpentry. Predeceased by his son Clyde and brother Calvin. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife - Beryl; sons, Lorne (Gladys) of King's Point, Keith (Judy) of Brantford, Ontario, Rick (Trudy) of Springdale, Duane (Sherry) of Paris, Ontario and Byron (Jennifer) of Guelph, Ontario; daughters - Netta (Boyce Croucher) of South Brook and Fern (Wayne Wellman) of Springdale. Also leaving to mourn 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Lilly Clarke; brother-in-law, Lester Locke and wife Hope; sisters-in-law, Greta Oxford and Marjorie Callahan. Majors Gerald and Doreen Lacey, assisted by Rev. Jeffrey Clarke conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel in Springdale on February 9, 2010. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers were, Duane Clarke, Lance Clarke, Brenden Croucher, Kenny Clarke, Lynette Croucher, Jane Clarke, Tiffany Wellman and Jeff Clarke. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Mike Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

NOBLE, EVA
August 18, 1914-February 8, 2010
On February 8, 2010 the longest term resident of Valley Vista Senior's Home, Eva Noble, passed away. Eva was born to Mary Ann and Gilbert Noble at Landgon's Cove on August 18, 1914. In 1944, after the passing of her mother, she was cared for by her brother Freeman and his wife Frances until she was admitted to the Valley Vista Senior's Home, in 1981. The Valley Vista was home for Eva for the last 29 years of her life and the family felt that she was very happy and loved there, thanks to the wonderful staff. She will be missed. The funeral service was conducted by Major Gerald Lacey from the Salvation Army Citadel in Harry's Harbour on Wednesday, February 10. Interment followed at the Community Cemetery in Jackson's Cove where Eva was laid to rest next to her brother, Willis. Pallbearers were Byron Noble, Keith Noble, Jody Noble, Barry Noble, Kerry Noble, and Randy Osmond. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gail Noel and Leander Hewlett of Green Bay Funeral Home, Springdale.

THOMAS, WARD LEWIS
1935-2010

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ward Lewis Thomas announce his passing at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Centre in Botwood on February 11, 2010 at the age of 74. Ward retired from Springdale Garage. Predeceased by his father, mother and two sisters. Left with fond and loving memories are Elsie; his sons: Lewis (Verna) of St. Patrick's, Clayton (Juanita) of Grand Falls-Windsor, John (Brenda) of Toronto, Ontario and Wayne (Dawn) of Georgia, USA; daughters: Audrey (Eric) of South Brook, Juanita (Glen) of Grande Prairie, Joan of Ontario, Daphne (Wilfred) of Beaumont and Irene (John) of Lloydminister. Also leaving to mourn six sisters, three brothers, 20 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Pastor Lindsey Foster conducted the funeral service from Central Funeral Homes in Springdale on Sunday, February 14, 2010. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers were Terry Rolfe, Alphonsus Folkes, Lindsey Tizzard, Shawn Weir, Stacey Folkes and Mark Clarke. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Mike Goodyear, Jim Maidment and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

GRAY, JARVIS DEON
Fort McMurray, AB (formerly of La Scie, NL)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jarvis Deon Gray, age 30, announces his sudden passing at his home in Fort McMurray, AB on Saturday, February 13, 2010. Predeceased by his paternal grandmother - Effie Gray; maternal grandparents - Selby & Blanche Loder; aunt - Bernice Gray; cousins - Tracy Critch, Steven Burton, Kenny Kerfont, Dwight Hill, Amy Bath; special friend - Tony Critch. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife - Cindy-Lee; son - Cruz, both of Fort McMurray, AB; parents - Kenneth & Donna Gray, La Scie, NL; brother - Jamie Gray (Angela-Joy Pittman); niece - Gracie, all of Grande Prairie, AB; parents-in-law - Freeman & Marion Bath, La Scie, NL; brother-in-law - Dwayne Bath (Vickie); nephew - Denver, all of Fort McMurray, AB; paternal grandfather - George Gray; and a large number of aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. Pastors William & Lorraine Bowering conducted the funeral service at Bethel Pentecostal Church and Cemetery, La Scie, NL on Sunday, February 21, 2010. Pallbearers were Jeff Burton, Jimmy-Lee Foss, Byron Bennett, Nathan Blanchard, Bill Parsons, and Chad Sullivan, and honourary pallbearer was Trevor Gray. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

OXFORD, MERRICK
1926-2010

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Merrick Oxford announces his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor February 14, 2010 at the age of 84. Predeceased by his parents, Lewis and Phoebe Oxford; brothers: Lodge and Pearce and sisters: Dulcie and Georgina. Left with fond and loving memories are his brother-in-law, Warrick Penney; sisters-in-law, Greta Oxford and Marie Oxford and nieces and nephews. Major Lindsay Oxford conducted the funeral service at Central Funeral Homes in Springdale on February 16, 2010. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers were Eric Penney, Kevin Oxford, Clarence Oxford, Barry Oxford, Everett Butt and Byron Saunders. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Central Funeral Homes in Springdale.

WISEMAN, FREDERICK GARLAND
1926-2010

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Frederick Garland Wiseman announces his passing at the Green Bay Health Care Center in Springdale on February 14, 2010 at the age of 83. Garland was a member of the Salvation Army Men's Fellowship and Joy Fellowship in Springdale. Garland retired from Canada Customs in 1986. Predeceased by his parents: Alfred and Elsie Wiseman; brother, Norman and sisters, Meta and Mildred. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Jeanette; sons: Lloyd (Shirley) of Bathurst, New Brunswick, Jim (Sharon) of Goose Bay, Labrador, Glen (Linda) of Fall River, Nova Scotia; and daughter Lynn Wiseman-Anthony (Maurice) of East Gore, Nova Scotia. Also leaving to mourn brother, Lester (Isabel), seven grandchildren and two great grand-children as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Majors Gerald and Doreen Lacey conducted the funeral service from the Salvation Army Citadel in Springdale on February 18, 2010. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lloyd Wiseman, Jim Wiseman, Glen Wiseman, Maurice Anthony, Chris Wiseman and Kevin Saunders. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

MATTHEWS, GREGORY
Brent's Cove, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gregory Matthews, age 90, announce his passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Monday, February 22, 2010. Predeceased by his children - Donald Matthews & Michelle Matthews. Left with fond and happy memories are his wife - Agnes Matthews; children - Anne Marie Matthews, Gerard Matthews (Violet), Philomena Matthews, Alicia Johnson (Johno), Rosalind Latter (Jim), Diane Ryan (Barry), Cathy Matthews, Paul Matthews (Cheryl), Dave Matthews (Betty), Sheila Matthews (Sean), Glenda Ashford (Eric), and Angie Young (Greg); 18 grandchildren - Michelle, Sarah, Laura, Jessica, Amanda, Melissa, Jessica, Mark, Matthew, Gregory, Jordan, Olivia, Sara, David, Julia, Sam, Hannah, Jackson; great-grandson - James; sister - Mary Ellen McIsaac; sister-in-law - Elizabeth Sullivan; many nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Joseph Tebsis conducted the funeral mass at St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Brent's Cove, NL on Thursday, February 25, 2010. Pallbearers were his children - Gerard Matthews, Alicia Johnson, Diane Ryan, Paul Matthews, Dave Matthews, Sheila Matthews, and the crossbearer was Alphonsus Matthews. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

HUXTER, IRENE IDA
Mrs. Irene Ida Huxter, 59

Wife of Scott Huxter, Bathurst, NB
Passed away on Thursday (February 25, 2010) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, NB. Born in Beaumont Long Island NL, she was the daughter of Gwendolyn (Rideout) Short and the late Donald Short. Besides her husband and her mother of Bathurst, she is survived by; son - Claye Huxter (Colleen) of Saint John, NB, Daughter - Vanessa Robbins (John) of Saskatoon, SK, 3 grandchildren: Nate, Kianna and Ethan, sisters and brothers - Ben, Dave, Don, Rod, Nancy, Shirley and Gloria. Mother-in-law, Mildred Huxter, Springdale, NL and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held on Monday March 1, 2010 from the Evangeline Pentecostal Church, Basin St., Bathurst NB. Donations in memory of Irene may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital NB, or a favorite charity. Arrangements were in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst, NS

GRANT, WALLACE ROY
1941-2010

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Wallace Roy Grant announces his passing at the Springdale Hospital in Springdale on February 27, 2010 at the age of 68. Wallace was a member of the Calvary Pentecostal Church in South Brook. Wallace retired from Syncrude Canada Ltd. in 1996. Predeceased by his mother, Bessie Grant; father, Dorman Grant and brother Harold Grant. Left with fond and loving memories are his sons: Christopher of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Roger of Fort McMurray, Alberta and daughter, Michelle of Fort McMurray, Alberta. Also leaving to mourn grandson, Skylar; brothers: Wilson (Linda), Ivan (Julie), David (Loretta); sisters: Jennie (Hughie), Ruby (Jim), Alice (Robert), Judy (Jerry), and special friend, Vince Newman. Pastors William and Lynette Cole conducted the funeral service from the Calvary Pentecostal Church in South Brook on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery in South Brook. Pallbearers were Christopher Grant, Skylar Grant, Ivan Grant, David Grant, Roger Grant, Wilson Grant, Robert Lethbridge and Vince Newman. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.
