It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eileen Dempsey, age 54, announce her sudden passing at her residence in Fleur de Lys, NL on Saturday, February 2, 2008. Predeceased by her brothers, Maurice and Gerard Tobin; sister, Betty Tobin; parents-in-law, Patrick and Winnifred Dempsey; siblings-in-law, John, Michael (Betty), Ronald, and Bernadette Dempsey and Douglas Walsh. Left with fond and loving memories are her husband, Andy, Fleur de Lys; children, Andre Dempsey, Wabush, NL, Linda Dempsey (Vince Osmond), Hampden, NL and Leo Dempsey (Denise Philpott), Gillams, NL; grandchildren, Courtney and Kyanna; Sherry-Lynn, Janielle, Shelby, Emily and Vince Jr.; and Cloe and Ashton; father, John J. Father Patrick Offin conducted the funeral service at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Fleur de Lys, NL on Thursday, February 7, 2008. Pallbearers were Andre Dempsey, Leo Dempsey, George Tobin, Ronald Tobin, Robbie Tobin and Peggy Lewis, and the crossbearer was Rose Tobin. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton’s Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

REID, DEBORAH JANE
It is with great sadness that the families of the late Deborah Jane Reid nee Morey announce her passing at Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on February 9, 2008 at the age of 95. Deborah was a member of the Pentecostal Church. Predeceased by husband, Loderick; parents, Edwin and Rosanna Morey; brother, Charlie Morey; sister-in-law, Una Morey; daughters-in-law, Margaret and Linda; son-in-law, Scott Hart; and great-grandson, Stephen Short. Left with fond and loving memories are her six sons, Ross, Cyril (Madeline), Lloyd (Karen), Freeman (Joan), Selby (Ruth), Leonard (Inez); three daughters, Rosie Short (Henry), Shirley Rowsell (Wallace) and Hazel Hewlett (Lawrence). Also leaving to mourn 43 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Pastor B.D. Brown conducted the funeral service at the Pentecostal Church in Miles Cove on Tuesday, February 12, 2008. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Vaden Short, Shawn Hart, Richard Hewlett, Orvin Short, Danny Rowsell and Eddie Reid. Ushers were Ryan Hewlett and Dennis Rowsell. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

OXFORD, SHIRLEY JEANETTE
It is with great sadness that the families of the late Shirley Jeanette Oxford announce her passing at her home in Robert’s Arm on February 12, 2008 at the age of 71. Shirley was a devoted mother and housewife. Left with fond and loving memories are her husband, Samuel G. Oxford; one son, Brian Oxford (Trixie Fudge) of Pickering, Ontario; and two daughters, Sandra Oxford of Robert’s Arm and Kimberley Oxford (Neil Hoskins) of Ottawa, Ontario. Also leaving to mourn grandchildren, Stephanie Oxford, Jae Ryan (Sandra), Adam Fudge, Brandon Fudge and Cameron Fudge (Brian and Trixie); sisters, Elsie Grimes of Springdale, Clemency Roberts of Buchans, Lillian Stone of Robert’s Arm and Ruth Higdon of Buchans; as well as a large number of extended family and friends. Captains Morgan and Lisa Hillier conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel in Robert’s Arm on February 15, 2008. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jae Ryan, Adam Fudge, Neil Hoskins, Morris Ryan, Harold Hillyard and Kevin Hewlett. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear, Jim Maidment and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

CLARKE, MARGARET ELEANOR
It is with great sadness that the families of the late Margaret Eleanor Clarke announce her passing at the Central Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on February 18, 2008 at the age of 76. Margaret was a member of The House of God in Grand Falls-Windsor. Predeceased by parents, Douglas and Bell Hamilton, brothers, Freeman, Clayton, Walter and sisters, Jean and Josie. Left with fond and loving memories are her husband, Morley; sons, Robert (Barb) of Springdale, Bruce of Edmonton, Jerry (Deliah) of Edmonton, Carl (Diane) of Springdale and Rudy (Angela) of Springdale; daughters, Judy (Fred Burton) of Edmonton, Golda (Jerry Snow) of Sherwood Park and Katherine (Scott Rice) of Ming’s Bight. Also leaving to mourn brother, Roy Hamilton, cousin Jim Spencer, may friends along with 27 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Pastor Nelson Guy conducted the funeral service at Central Funeral Homes in Springdale on Thursday, February 21, 2008. Interment was at the United Church cemetery. Pallbearers were her sons Robert, Carl, Rudy and her grandsons Mark, Daniel and Robyn. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

PARDY, GARLAND SAMUEL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Garland Samuel Pardy, age 81, announce his passing at Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Thursday, February 21, 2008. Predeceased by his parents, Samuel Pardy & Mariah Pardy-Regular; son, Gerald Pardy; son-in-law, Danny Sacrey; siblings, Esther Pardy, Dorothy Regular, Ellen “Nell” Sacrey (Mark), Edgar Pardy (Edith), Rita Stamp (Larry), and Evelyn “Tamer” Clarke; siblings-in-law, Phyllis Dicks, Clarence Dicks, Lewis Dicks, Bert Dicks, Woodrow Dicks, and Madeline Gray. Pallbearers were sons - Boyde Pardy, Wayne Pardy, Paul Pardy, Chuck Pardy and grandsons - Steven Small & Currie Gray. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton’s Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

Predeceased by his wife, Linda Morey; his parents, Raymond & Whelimena Morey; siblings, Ross Morey, Phyllis Martin (Edgar), and Rowena Burton; parents-in-law, Herbert & Rachel Thomas; siblings-in-law, Austin Walsh, and Ralph Hynes. OAKE, GERALD HUBERT
It is with great sadness that the families of the late Gerald Hubert Oake announce his passing at the Green Bay Health Care Center in Springdale on February 29, 2008 at the age of 82. Gerald was a member of the Beaumont Salvation Army Corps. Gerald retired from fishing. Predeceased by parents, Archibald and Rebecca Oake; two brothers, David and Silas; as well as three sisters, Ela, Melinda and Maggie. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Betty of Springdale; four sons, Hank (Geraldine) of Guelph, Wilfred (Cathy) of Espanola, Wade (Monda) of Beaumont and Glenn (Christina) of Botwood; three daughters, Audrey (Eli Rice) of Beaumont, Dona (Dave Jenkins) of Springdale and Faye (Dean Peddle) of Gander. Also leaving to mourn grandchildren, Danielle, April, Megan, Christopher, Monica, Laura, Tammy, Craig, Matthew, Nicole and great-grandchildren James, Amber, Anthony, Haden and Seth. Captains Dwayne and Brandi LeDrew assisted by Pastor Andrews, Barbara Noble and Trina Richards conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel in Beaumont on Monday, March 3, 2008. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Beaumont. Pallbearers were his sons, Hank, Wilfred, Wade, Glenn; and sons-in-law, Eli and Dave. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear, Jim Maidment and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.
