BROWN, WILLIAM JESSE
It is with great sadness that the family of the late William Jesse Brown, age 70, announce his passing at the BVPHC, Baie Verte on Tuesday, February 1, 2005. Predeceased by parents Sitnah and Myrtis Brown; brother Henry; sister Geraldine and mother-in-law Minnie Collins. Left with fond and loving memories are wife Beryl; daughters Yvonne Bath (Carl), La Scie, Denise Brown-Adams (Darrell), Corpus Christi, Texas and Michelle Brown-Burton (Murray), Baie Verte; grandsons Mark and Michael Bath and Aaron Burton; sister-in-law Pauline Brown, Toronto, ON; Father-in-law Wilfred Collins, Glovertown; in-laws Yvonne Voters (Elwin), Scarborough, On, Doreen Rogers (Clyde), Trinity, Edmund Collins (Joy), Gander, Glenn (Peggy), St. John's, Byron (Linda), Glovertown, Marvin (Tina), St. John's and Dwight (Rosalind), Torbay; aunt Amutal Norris, Trinity; many nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Captains Arley and Darlene Masters conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel and Cemetery, La Scie on Thursday, February 3, 2005. Pallbearers were Allan Sheaves, Morgan Oake, George Parmiter, Cyril Furlong, Jeremy Pardy and John Taylor.

LEWIS, THERESA JANE
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Theresa Jane Lewis, age 73, announce her passing at the BVPHC, Baie Verte on Friday, February 4, 2005. Predeceased by husband Robert John Lewis; daughter Mary Madonna; parents Stephen and Josephine Lewis; sisters Bridget Tobin and Geraldine Lewis. Left with fond and loving memories are sons Kenneth (Cathy), Baie Verte, Cornell (Linda Tobin), Fleur De Lys, Oscar (Kathleen), Fraser Lake, BC and Robert, Grande Prairie, AB; daughters Judy Andrews (Rudy), Fort McMurray, AB, Barbara Lewis (Gordon Robertson), Hamilton, ON, Dianne Sacrey (Junior), Pacquet, Deborah Lewis (Jamie Beattle), Hamilton, ON, Clara Fearey (Steve), Fort McMurray, AB, Juanita Evin (Kelly), Red Deer, AB, Charmaine Wein (David), Kingston, ON and Trinity Statnyk (Drew), Victoria, BC; 33 grandchildren; sin great grandchildren; brother Frederick Lewis (Madeline); sisters Josephine Dempsey (Frank), Irene Dyer (Tom), Ann Shelley (Jim), Hazel Lewis, Ida Downey (Ambrose) and Caroline Lewis (Bill) and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father tom Duffenais conducted the funeral mass at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Fleur De Lys on Tuesday, February 8, 2005. Pallbearers were Kenneth Lewis, Connell Lewis, Oscar Lewis, Fred Lewis, Robin Lewis and George Walsh and the crossbearer was Robert Lewis.

PELLEY, GERTRUDE MAE
Passed away February 5, 2005, after a lengthly illness, Gertrude Mae Pelley at the Valley Vista, Springdale. She was 88 years old. Mrs. Pelley was a wife and homemaker. Predeceased by husband Edward; brothers Gordon, Thomas, Albert, Harvey and Donald and two grandsons. Left with fond and loving memories are sons Melvin (Wavy), Beachside, Bon (Betty), Springdale, Roderick (Margaret), Beachside, Merlin (Shirley), Beachside, Otto (Bessie), Thompson, MB and Perry (Nora), Springdale; daughters Violet (Baxter White), Cambellford, ON, Mavis (Thomas Keating), Brampton, On, Joyce (Robert Stone), Beachside, Grace (George Cole), Labrador City, Golda, Fredericton, NB and Olive (Clifford Langdon, Ottawa, ON. Also leaving to mourn sisters Louise Pelley, Presscilla Young and Elizabeth Little; 44 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Clayton Butt conducted the funeral service at Bethal Pentecostal Church and Cemetery, Beachside on Tuesday, February 8, 2005. Pallbearers were daughters, sons and one son-in-law, Robert Stone.

SLADE, ROBERT PEARCE
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Robert Pearce Slade announce his passing at the CNRHC, Grand Falls-Windsor on February 8, 2005 at the age of 78 years. Predeceased by parents Newton and Beatrice and brothers Frederick and Eric. Left with fond and loving memories are wife Doris; sons Norman (Shirley), Goose bay, Scott (Jean), Labrador City, Rayfield (Susan), Marathon, ON, Brian (Diane), Kellegrews, Chester (Maxine), Lushes Bight and Derek (Betty), Oshawa, ON; daughters Elsie (Hayward Reid), Miles Cove, Pearl (Winston Roberts) Triton, Jean (Glen Thomas), La Scie, Sandra, Robert's Arm, Sue (Clyde Colbourne), Lushes Bight, Brenda (Dennis Ward), La Scie and Joanne (Jerry Fraser), Iqualuit, NWT. Also leaving to mourn Clayton (Ella) Pollard, Josie (Wilbert) Bromley, Hayward (Melvina) Slade, Glossie (Jen) Slade, Hazel (Ford) Newman, Effie (Raymond) Short, Wilson (Pearl) Slade and Raymond Slade and wife; 29 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Pastor and Mrs. Kirby Noseworthy conducted the funeral service at the Pentecostal Church and Cemetery, Lushes Bight on February 11, 2005 at 2 pm. Pallbearers were sons Derek, Brian, Chester, Rayfield, Norm and Scott Slade.

OXFORD, FREEMAN ALLAN
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Freeman Allan Oxford announce his passing at the Hugh Twomey Health Care Centre, Botwood on February 10, 2005 at the age of 72. Freeman Retired from Elliott Brothers Co. in 1993. Predeceased by grandparents William and Dora Oxford. Left with fond and loving memories are his partner in life Bernice Miller; son Phillip, Mississauga, ON; step-son John, North York, ON; step-daughters Theresa, Barrie, ON and Patsy Coombs (Wayne), Springdale. Also leaving to mourn mother Hilda Hicks, Springdale; sisters Audrey Ivany (Ross, Marjorie Smith (Marvin), Shirley Foster, Marilyn Gillingham (Andrew), Ruby Hicks (Ed) and Norman Hicks (Nina); grandson Chad and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Edwin Rideout, Pastor Howard Head and Capt. Morgan Hillier conducted the funeral service at the Springdale Pentecostal Church on February 12, 2005. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Grant Ave., Springdale. Pallbearers were Phillip Oxford, Norman Hicks, Ross Ivany, Edward Foley, Norman Oxford and Embrey Oxford.

OXFORD, ARLENE MAUDE
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Arlene Maude Oxford announce her passing at the Valley Vista, Springdale on February 12, 2005 at the age of 90 years. Arlene was a member of the Pentecostal Church, Beachside. Predeceased by husband Cecil; brother Gordon Young and sister Myrtle Christianson. Left with fond and loving memories are sons Ted (Lucy), Beachside, Conrad (Livina), Springdale, Harry (Betty), Grand Falls-Windsor and Clyde (Janette), Beachside; daughter Betty (Jim Penton), Grand Falls-Windsor. Also leaving to mourn sister Hazel Snow, Clarke's Beach; brothers Claude Young, Clarke's Beach and Calvin Young, Cambridge, ON; 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Pastor Clayton Butt conducted the funeral service at the Bethel Pentecostal Church and Cemetery, Beachside on February 15, 2005. Pallbearers were Billy Oxford, Jeremy Oxford, Nathan Stone, Tyler Mercer, Bobby Burden and Ian Young.

RIDEOUT, AUGUSTUS JAMES
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Augustus James Rideout announce his passing at his home in Port Anson on February 14, 2005 at the age of 85 years. Predeceased by wife Beatrice; parents George and Mary Rideout; sister Theresa; brothers Abraham, Alfred, Frederick, Gordon, and Willis. Left with fond and loving memories are Florence Burton, common law wife; Florence's daughters Salomie (Joseph Bishop) and Bessie Bishop. Also leaving to mourn brother Herbert (Lydia), Labrador City; sister Evelyn Winsor, King's Point; sister-in-law Bernice, Tilt Cove; brother-in-law Joseph Seymour, Bishop's Falls; a large number of nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Barbara Noble conducted the funeral service at Central Funeral Homes, Springdale on February 17, 2005. interment was at the United Church Cemetery, Port Anson.

BARTLETT, FREDERICK GARLAND
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Frederick Garland Bartlett, age 87, announce his passing at the BVPHC, Baie Verte on Wednesday, February 16, 2005. Predeceased by daughter Marian Majumder; parents Jack and Julia Bartlett; three brothers and three sisters. Left with fond and loving memories are wife Margaret; son Dale (Marjorie), Burlington, daughters Mavis Stanfield (Bill), Owen Sound, ON, Faye Campbell, Leith, ON, Audrey Kelly (Ray), Owen Sound, ON; son-in-law Mani Majumder (Elizabeth Attenberger), Burlington, grandchildren Rani Majumder (Chris )McLeod and Shaun Majumder; Sherry Goudie (Mark), Lisa Goudie (Peter) and Darrell Bartlett (Quentina); Erin, Matthew and Mark Stanfield; Tina Roscoe (Warren) and Tim Kelly (Tracy); great grandchildren Lily Majumder-McLeod, Kristen Goudie, Kaylie and Kendra Goudie, Megan and Matthew Roscoe, Aedan and Alyia Kelly; sisters and brothers Marie Dwyer (Stan), May Newbury, Roy Bartlett (Betty), Ross Bartlett (Gladys), Margie Warford (Bill); many nieces and nephews; his dear and special friends at the BVPHC Residential unit and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Darrell Bartlett, Mark Goudie, Peter Goudie, Dean Bartlett, Paul Bartlett and Lloyd Foster.

RIDEOUT, HETTIE ELIZABETH
Passed away Feb 16, 2005, peacefully, Hettie Elizabeth Rideout at the Valley Vista Seniors Home, Springdale. She was 83 years of age. Predeceased by husband Reginald; daughter Malba; son Elwin and brothers Roy and Augustus Tilley. Left to mourn are son Rayfield (Pheobe), King's Point. Also left to mourn are sisters Marjorie Newbury, Myrtle Thomas and Mildred Burton; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Larry G. Soper conducted the funeral service at the King of King's Pentecostal Church, King's Point. Interment was at the King's Point Interfaith Cemetery. Pallbearers were Geoff Freake, Glen Freake, Dwain Rideout, Melvin Janes, Todd Newbury and Dennis Tilley.

SHORT, CECIL "CES" NORMAN,
formerly of Tilt Cove, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Cecil "Ces" Norman Short, age 90. announce his passing at the Hamlyn Manor, Seal Cove on Saturday, February 19, 2005. Predeceased by parents Horace and Ellen Short. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife of 64 years Blanche, Seal Cove; children Shirley Severance, Sydney, NS, Hilda Gilbert (Murley), Elliot Lake, ON, Butch Short  (Wendy Strachan), Sparwood, BC, Nancy Koerner (Al), Sherwood Park, AB; grandchildren Debbie Severance, Christine Severance (Henry Mitchell), Robert Severance, Kim Severance Rod Gilbert (Kathy), Paula Sheldon (Brian), Rylan Short and Vincent Kehoe; great grandchildren Holly, Brandi, Cody, Dylan, Kurtis and Griffin; his dear and special friends at the Hamlyn Manor, Seal Cove and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. George Kean conducted the funeral service at Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte on Thursday, February 24, 2005. Interment followed at Bethany United Cemetery, Baie Verte. SHORT, RAYMOND PEARCE
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Raymond Pearce Short announce his passing at Lushes Bight-Beaumont on Sunday, February 20, 2005 at the age of 72. Raymond retired from the lumberwoods and then fishing. Predeceased by parents Henry and Pearl; stepmother Winnifred; sister Marjorie and brothers Malcolm and Willie. Left with fond and loving memories are Effie (Slade) Short; sons Alvin (Joan), Upper Island Cove, Hayward (Bonnie), Lushes Bight-Beaumont, Pleaman (Shirley), Brynt's Cove, Clifford (Velma), St. John's, Don (Louanna), Lunenburg, NS, Carl, Lushes Bight-Beaumont, Randy (Josephine), Lushes Bight-Beaumont, Bruce (Corinna), Grand Falls-Windsor and John (Pauline), Lushes Bight-Beaumont; daughters Ethel (Claude Martin), St. John's, Elsie (Andy Stoyles), Gander and Elaine (Ted Decker), Guelph, ON. Also leaving to mourn 24 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Kirby Noseworthy conducted the funeral service at the Faith Pentecostal Church and Cemetery, Lushes Bight on Wednesday, February 23, 2005. MILLER HAZEL MAY (nee Fudge)
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hazel M. Miller announce her passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home, Springdale at the age of 85 years. Hazel was a member of the Salvation Army Brighton Corps and Brighton Home League. Predeceased by her first husband Frederick Fudge and second husband Arthur Miller. Left with fond and loving memories are sons Rex Fudge (Mavis), Brighton, Cecil Fudge (Sharon), Grand Bank, Clayton Fudge (Geraldine), Burlington, ON, Ira Fudge (Annetta), Brighton and Major Ralph Fudge (Gloria), Dover; daughters Velma Pynn (Amaziah), Springdale, Vera Jean Fudge (Shawn), London, ON, Verbena Winsor (Collin), Scarborough, ON. and Theresa Newbury (Wayne), Burlington and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Capts Robert and Denise Spurrell conducted the funeral service at the Brighton Salvation Army Church on February 23, 2005. Interment was at the Brighton Community Cemetery Pallbearers were sons Rex, Cecil, Ira and Ralph and grandsons Troy and Jefffery.

CHIPP, MARIE GLADYS
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Marie Gladys Chipp, age 79, announce her passing at the BVPHC on Tuesday, February 22, 2005. Predeceased by husband Hubert; mother Nellie Gray; sisters Beatrice, Gale and Myrtle Sacrey. Left with fond and loving memories are children James (Wavy), Pasadena, Alex, Bishop's Falls, Rosie Burton, Grand Falls-Windsor, Paul (Bertha), Stephenville, Ruby Haas (Wayne), Brent's Cove; grandchildren Ryan Chipp, Andy Burton, Johnny, Tiffany and Patrick Chipp, Jessica, Skyler, Joshua and Cynthia Noble; brother Harold Sacrey (Dorcus), Pacquet; special friend Ethel Critch (Bert) La Scie; her dear and special friends at the BVPHC residential Care Unit and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. George Kean conducted the funeral service at Zion United Church and Cemetery on Friday, February 25, 2005. GRAY, ERIC GEORGE
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eric George Gray, age 74, announce his passing at Shoe Cove on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 Predeceased by parents Thomas and Margaret Gray; brothers Leander, Bob and Maxwell Gray; sister Triffie; brothers-in-law Claude may and Henry Foss and Sister-in-law Lucy Gray. Left with fond and loving memories are wife Audrey; children Wavy Vincent (Landon), Orillia, On, Melvin (Doreen), Shoe Cove, David (Loretta), La Scie, Stephen (Hilda), La Scie, Ronnie, Shoe Cove; grandchildren Keith Vincent (Melissa) and Shawna Rowe ((Joseph), Brittany Gray, Nikita Gray, Kyle and Kyla Gray and Nick Gray; brother Cyril (Madeline), sisters Audrey, May, Myrtis Foote (Chesley), Evelyn Foss; sister-in-law Lylie Gray; many nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. ROWSELL, HAYWARD
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hayward Rowsell announce his passing at the Valley Vista, Springdale on February 24, 2005 at the age of 87 years. Hayward was a member of Miles Cove Pentecostal Church and had retired from fishing. Predeceased by wife Rowena and son Albert. Left with fond an loving memories are sons Wallace (Shirley), Grand Falls-Windsor, Cameron (Effie), miles Cove, David (Shirley), Port Anson, Keith (Yvonne), Sackville, NS; daughters Shirley (Clarence), Springdale, Effie (Wallace), Miles Cove, Lorena (Jim), Pasadena and Verna. Also leaving to mourn Arthur and Sandy; 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Pastor Brown conducted the funeral service at Miles Cove Church and Cemetery on February 25, 2005. Pallbearers were sons Wallace, Cameron, David and Keith and grandsons Jason and Jamie.
