DICKS, WOODROW JAMES, MING'S BIGHT
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Woodrow James Dicks, age 76, announce his passing at the BVHC, Baie Verte on Sunday, February 1, 2004. Predeceased by his parents Nicholas and Olive Dicks; brothers Bert, Louis and Clarence and sister Phyllis. Left with fond and loving memories are wife Olive; sons Barry (Janice), Baie Verte, Jimmy (Maureen), Smith's Hr, Dale (Carrie), Baie Verte and Cecil (Roxanne), Ming's Bight; daughters Juanita Burton and Peggy Sacrey (Benny) all of Toronto, ON; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers Pratt (Kay), Truman (Taffie) and Pearce (Marcy); sisters Madeline Grey (Cyril), Ivy Willis (Frank), Elizabeth Comdon, Ruby Pardy (Garland) and Sheila Clance (Don) and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Capt. Stephen White and Pastor Cecil Young conducted the funeral services at the Salvation Army Church and Cemetery. Ming's Bight on Tuesday, February 3, 2004. Pallbearers were Barry Dicks, Jimmy Dicks, Dale Dicks, Cecil Dicks, Timothy Dicks and Truman Dicks.
RICE , PEARCE GARFIELD
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Pearce Garfield Rice, age 79, announce his passing at the BVPHC, Baie Verte on Tuesday, February 3, 2004. Predeceased by parents Hezekiah and Lucy Rice; daughters Albertha, Edith and an infant baby; sister Dorcas Rice; brothers Garland and Sidney and brother-in-law Lewis Lockyer. Left with fond and loving memories are wife Myrtle; daughter Betty Whiteway (Aubrey), Lewisporte; son Wayne (Jane), St. John's; grandchildren Karen Pond (Perry), Paradise, Lori Whiteway (Edward White), Trinidad, and Laura Rice, St. John's; great granddaughter Maria Pond, Paradise. Also leaving to mourn sister Cynthia Lockyer; brothers Walter, Norman (Pheobe) and Kenneth (Elizabeth); sister-in-law Anita Rice; many nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
Rev. William Rice, Rev. David Russell and Rev. Randy Lockyer conducted the funeral service at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Baie Verte on Friday, February 6, 2004. Interment followed at St. Peter's Anglican cemetery, Westport. Pallbearers were Ron Robinson, Roy Robinson, Terry Lane, Eric Robinson, Robert Ricketts and Cluney Ricketts.
JONES, DAISY MAY
Passed peacefully away February 18, 2004 at the CNRHC, Grand Falls-Windsor after a short illness, Daisy May Jones of Little Bay Islands. She was 87. Predeceased by her husband Leslie; parents Walter and Naomi Weir; brother Edward and sisters Marjorie, Dorothy and Mildred. Left to mourn is daughter Vine ((Edwin Tucker). Also leaving to mourn sisters Elsie, Lillian, Clemency, Ruth, Pearl and Shirley; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Beverly Snow conducted the funeral service at Faith United Church and Cemetery, Little Bay Islands on Sunday, February 22, 2004. Pallbearers were Cyril Oxford, Gordon King, Colin Weir, Wincil Oxford, Lemuel Jones and Otto Rowsell.
