CROUCHER, REGINALD
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Reginald Clarence Croucher announces his passing at the Miller Center in St. John's on August 1, 2009 at the age of 82. Predeceased by his loving wife, Gwendolyn; parents, Roland and Ruth Croucher; sister, Ethel; brother, Ruben, grandson, Trenton and nephew, David. Left with fond and loving memories are his children, son, Terry Croucher of Springdale; daughters, Joan (Austin Noel) of Badger, Peggy Croucher of St. John's and Tina Croucher of St. John's. Also leaving to mourn grandchildren, Trent (Wanda), Nicole, Stephanie, Anthony (Kim); great-grandchildren, Tori, Alexis, Tara and Leland; sisters, Ellen Brake (Ed), Joyce Wells; along with special friends Harold England and Marg Wheeler and a large circle of relatives and friends. Majors Gerald and Doreen Lacey conducted the funeral service from the Salvation Army Citadel in Springdale on Wednesday, August 5, 2008*. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers were Terry Croucher, Trent Noel, Tracy and Trevor Vincent, Roy Wellman and Lester Tizzard. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and** of Central Funeral Homes.

STACEY, HUBERT CHARLES
Baie Verte, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hubert Charles Stacey, age 77, announce his passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte on Saturday, August 8, 2009. Predeceased by his grandson, Zachary Stacey; parents, Olive and Louis Stacey; siblings, Kim, Lola, Cyril, Kathy, and Louis Jr.; parents-in-law, Harriett and Abraham Somers; siblings-in-law, Ralph Somers, Lloyd Somers and Olive Somers. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife of 43 years, Avis, Baie Verte, NL; son, Charles Stacey (Coretta); Poppy's little girl, granddaughter, Jenna; siblings, Max Stacey (Leuna), Scarborough, ON, Bill Stacey (Sylvia), Oshawa, ON, and Sadie Durance (Bill), Toronto, ON; siblings-in-law, Rube Somers (Jane), Art Somers (Jessie), Alvin Somers, Jerry Somers (Shirley), Doris Mackey (Bob), Ada Foote (Bruce), Bernice Dean and Rose Somers; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Jason Haggstrom conducted the funeral service at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Baie Verte, NL on Tuesday, August 11, 2009. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

SNOW, BRENDEN NELSON
It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Brenden Snow on August 14, 2009 at the St. Joseph General Hospital in Elliot Lake at the age of 59. Beloved husband of Cora Snow of Elliot Lake and loving father of Stephen Snow of Toronto and Jill Shields (Jerry) of St. Joseph's Island. Dear grandfather of Brenden, Mackenzie, Tabitha and brother to Roy (Joan), Linda, Shirley (Max), Phyllis (Dawson), Georgina (Howard) and Colleen (Albert) all of Newfoundland. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Brenden's life was held on Tuesday, August 18th, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from the New Life Pentecostal Assembly with Pastor Paul McGowan officiating. Inurnment in Woodlands Cemetery, Elliot Lake. Because of the excellent care and understanding, memorial contributions to the Daffodil Terrace Lodge in Sudbury (1-800-465-6343) would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Elliot Lake Funeral Chapel & Cremation Centre (36 Ontario Ave.).

FIFIELD, JOHN WILLIS
It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Willis Fifield announce his passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Complex in Springdale on August 18, 2009 at the age of 90. John was a member of the Calvary Pentecostal Church in South Brook. John retired from the logging industry. Predeceased by his wife, Mary; and two daughters, Olive and Gladys. Left with fond and loving memories are his son, Bruce of South Brook; and daughters, Idella (Arthur Fowlow) of South Brook; Marjorie (Morris Young) of Springdale; Phyllis (William Cobb) of Little Bay; Ruth (Robert Croucher) of Fort McMurray; Maxine of Victoria, British Columbia; and Betty (Roger Matthews) of South Brook. Also leaving to mourn three brothers, Baxter, Gordon and Wilfred; and one sister, Myrtle. Pastor Bill Cole conducted the funeral service at the Calvary Pentecostal Church in South Brook on August 21, 2009. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Croucher, Morris Young, Bruce Fifield, Darin Mercer, Rodney Matthews and Monty Fowlow. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

KERLING, SUSAN JOY (RN NEE: SNOW)
As the result of a tragic accident on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at the age of 32 years. Susan Joy Kerling of Waterloo, cherished wife and best friend of Trevor. Dearly loved daughter of Beverly and Bill Snow of Baie Verte, NL. Loved and missed by her only sister, Sherri Lynn Woolfrey and her husband, Peter. Dear daughter-in-law of Sandy Schultz of Winnipeg, MB and sister-in-laws, Cathy Case and Tina Case of Winnipeg, MB. She will be sadly missed by her grandmother, Francis Snow of Carbonear, NL, as well as a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. Susan Joy was a Critical Care Nurse in the Cardiac care Unit at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener. She enjoyed spending time with Trevor while motorcycling, snowmobiling, ATVing, and traveling. She also enjoyed working out at the gym and had a soft spot for animals, including her rescued pets, Cotton, Felix and Bandit. Susan Joy's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A celebration of Susan Joy's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, August 25th, 2009 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy to the K-W Humane Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).

LEWIS, CAROLINE MARY
Fleur de Lys, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Caroline Mary Lewis, age 61, announce her passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Sunday, August 23, 2009. Predeceased by her son, Deon Lewis; parents, Stephen & Josephine Lewis; siblings, Geraldine Lewis, Bridget Tobin and Theresa Lewis; parents-in-law, William & Elizabeth Lewis; siblings-in-law, William Tobin, Robert Lewis, Don Lewis, Dennis Lewis, Lucy Lewis, Ambrose Mills, Howard Dollimont, Joseph Lewis and Ronald Dempsey. Left with fond and loving memories are her husband, William, Fleur de Lys; son, Sheldon Lewis (Terri-Lynn), Baie Verte; daughter-in-law, Trina Lewis, Baie Verte; grandchildren, Ryan, Benjamin & Drew; step-grandson, Tristen; siblings, Fred Lewis (Madeline), Josephine Dempsey (Frank), Mary-Ann Shelley (James), Hazel Lewis, Irene Dyer (Tom) and Ida Downey (Ambrose); siblings-in-law, Josephine Mills, Elizabeth Noftall (Michael), Jenny Dollimont, Jack Lewis (Agnes), Bridget Traverse (Donald), George Lewis (Elizabeth), Frank Lewis (Mary), Floss Dempsey, Doreen Shea (James) and Edna Troy (Felix); and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Joseph Tebsis conducted the funeral mass at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Fleur de Lys, NL on Wednesday, August 26, 2009. Pallbearers were Doreen Shea, Bernadette Traverse, Bernadette Lewis, Marie Barker, Madeline Lewis & Lorna Saunders, the crossbearer was Pauline Barrett and the flower Bearer was Agnes Lewis. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

UPWARD, LEONARD
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Leonard Upward announce his passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on August 27, 2009 at the age of 87. Leonard was a member of the United Church, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Masonic Lodge. Leonard retired from Abitibi Pulp and Paper. Predeceased by his wife - Helen; son-in-law, Stephen Pike; and siblings - Stuart, Louise and Geralda. Left with fond and loving memories are his sons, Brian (Lorna) of Springdale; Ian (Janet) of Barrie, Ontario; and daughters, Jewel (Dean Rowsell) of Ratting Brook; Hilda (Barry King) of Deer Lake; and Gloria (Chuck McLuckie) of Barrie, Ontario. Also leaving to mourn; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Reverend Patricia Melindy conducted the funeral service at the United Church in Harry's Harbour on Sunday, August 30, 2009. Interment was at the United Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Chad, Shawn, Marc, Shane, Nikki and Krystal Jyl. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment, Mike Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

CLEARY, CATHERINE
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Catherine Mary Cleary announce her passing at the Green Bay Health Care Centre in Springdale on August 31, 2009 at the age of 88. Catherine was a member of the Catholic Women's Association until her later years. Predeceased by husband, James and son, Greg. Left with fond and loving memories are her sons, Phillip of Pasadena, Joe (Louise) of Little Bay, Michael (Avis) of Little Bay and daughters, Margaret (Gerald) of St. Patrick's and Mary (Barry) of St. Patrick's. Also leaving to mourn 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, one sister-in-law, and a number of relatives and friends. Father Hearn conducted the funeral service at the Sacred Heart Parish in St. Patrick's on September 3, 2009. Interment was at the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery in St. Patrick's. Pallbearers were: Phil Cleary, Joe Cleary, Mike Cleary, Barry Dawe, Tim Dawe, John Curran and Everett Pitts. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.
