HEATH, RENNIE
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rennie Heath announce her passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre in Baie Verte on August 4, 2008 at the age of 52. Predeceased by her parents, Mable and Lewis Heath, sister Louise Butt and brother Rex Heath. Left with fond and loving memories are her husband Cecil Pinksen, son Andrew, daughter Stephanie and stepchildren; Eric Pinksen and Glenda Philpott. Also leaving to mourn sisters: Velma, Linda, Debbie, Angela, Hayley, Alma, Audrey, Lovejoy, Madeline, June and Joan; brothers: Wallace, Wayne, Gordon, Lewis, Bruce and grandchild Roman. Tom Saunders conducted the funeral service at Central Funeral Homes in Springdale on August 4, 2008. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wayne Heath, Wallace Heath, Michael Heath, Marc Heath, Ryan Heath and Shawn Weir. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

OXFORD, SAMUEL G.
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Samuel G. Oxford announce his passing at the Springdale Retirement Center in Springdale on August 4, 2008 at the age of 73. Sam retired from Advocate Mines in Baie Verte. Predeceased by wife, Shirley; sister: Asenith Clarke and brother, Cecil Hollett. Left with fond and loving memories are his son Brian Oxford (Trixie) of Pickering, Ontario and daughters Sandra Oxford of Robert’s Arm and Kim Oxford (Neil) of Ottawa, Ontario. Also leaving to mourn sisters, Irene Baraoyk, Thelma Winsor, Behula Rowsell; brother Bob Hollett and grandchildren, Stephanie, Jae (Sandra), Adam, Brandon and Cameron (Brian & Trixie). Lieutenant Tina Dominic conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel in Robert’s Arm on August 7, 2008. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers were son-in-law, Neil Hoskins; grandsons, Jae Ryan and Adam Fudge, Morris Ryan, Ronald Young and Wilbert Rideout. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

FUREY, PATRICK J.
Baie Verte, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Patrick J. Furey, age 55, announce his sudden passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte on Tuesday, August 5, 2008. Predeceased by his father – Edward Furey; and nephew – Paul Hartigan. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife – Lenora, Baie Verte, NL; and sons – Craig & Tim Furey, both of Baie Verte, NL. Also leaving to mourn his mother – Susan Furey; sisters – Pauline Hartigan (Ed), and Cathy Furey (Donald Lacey); parents-in-law – Michael & Madeline Drover; siblings-in-law – Theresa Mayne (Elton), Dartmouth, NS, Alice Hoven (Dave), Baie Verte, NL, Eugene Drover (Agnes), Goose Bay, NL, Bill Drover, Baie Verte, NL, Len Drover (Jenn), Riverview, NB, Brenda Banks (Glen), Madeline Drover, Michael (Sandra) Drover, and Paul Drover, all of Baie Verte, NL; a large number of nieces and nephews; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Joseph Tebsis conducted the funeral mass at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Baie Verte, NL on Friday, August 8, 2008. Pallbearers were Bill Hewitt, Darrell Barker, Rex Whitt, Mason Ropson, Kevin Regular, and Carmen Morrison, and the crossbearer was Amanda Hewlett. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton’s Funeral Homes, Baie Verte.

DOWNEY, CLARENCE PATRICK
Baie Verte, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Clarence Patrick Downey, age 67, announce his sudden passing at his private residence in Baie Verte, NL on Sunday, August 10, 2008. Predeceased by his parents, Martin and Irene Downey; siblings, Elizabeth Downey, and Catherine Payne (Patrick); parents-in-law, William and Bridget Hoven; siblings-in-law, Frankie Hoven, Stephen Seward, William Hewitt, Pauline Downey and nephews, Kerry Hoven and Derrick Payne. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Christine, Baie Verte, NL; children, Barry Downey (Sandra), Baie Verte, NL, Todd Downey (Belinda), Greenwood, NS, and Elizabeth Masson (Eric Vinette), Ottawa, ON; grandchildren, Kyle Downey, Megan and Tyler Downey, and Rebecca-Lynn and Alexander Masson. Also leaving to mourn his siblings, Frances Hewitt, Baie Verte, NL, Helen Wheeler (Gary), Marie Seward, both of West Lock, AB, Loretta Gedge (Hubert), Durrell, NL, Dan Downey (Linda), Grand Prairie, AB, Jim Downey, Fort McMurray, AB, Gerald Downey (Catherine), Marathon, ON, Ronald Downey (Betty), Sparwood, BC, and Aiden Downey, Thumbler Ridge, BC; siblings-in-law, Fergus Hoven (Hope), Fogo, NL, Mary Jordan (William), Harbour Grace, NL, David Hoven (Alice), Baie Verte, NL, Regina Drover (Gregory), Harbour Round, NL, and Maureen Hoven (Dave Pomeroy), Fogo, NL; many nieces and nephews, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Joseph Tebsis conducted the Funeral Mass at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Baie Verte, on Thursday, August 14th, 2008. Pallbearers were Barry Downey, Todd Downey, Jim Downey, Ron Downey, Fergus Hoven, and Dave Hoven; honourary pallbearers were Daniel Downey, Gerald Downey, and Aiden Downey; and the crossbearer was Kyle Downey. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton’s Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

OXFORD, LEONE JOYCE
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Leone Joyce Oxford announce her passing at the Green Bay Health Care Center in Springdale on August 14, 2008 at the age of 62. Leone was a member of the United Church. Left with fond and loving memories is her husband, Cyril. Also leaving to mourn are her parents, Reuban and Lucy Locke; sister, Joan (Wilson); brother, Larry (Muriel); two nieces, two nephews and a large circle of family and friends. Jerry Weir conducted the funeral service from the United Church in Little Bay Islands on August 17, 2008. Interment was at the Interfaith Cemetery. Pallbearers were Arthur Weir, David Weir, Colin Weir, Edgar Chaytor, Gordon King and George Tucker. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment, Mike Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

WISEMAN, DAISY NETTA MAY
Passed away August 16, 2008 after a lengthy illness Daisy Netta May Wiseman at Springdale Hospital. She was 88 years of age. Predeceased by husband, William Wiseman. Left to mourn are sons, Lloyd (wife Marjorie) of Robert’s Arm, Harold (wife Velma) of Springdale, Raymond (wife Margrett) of Robert’s Arm, Eddie (wife Michelle) of Triton, Ernest of Lynn Lake, MB, Soloman (wife June) of Cormack; daughters, Evelyn of Penbrook, Ont., Flossie (husband Norman Ralph) of Grand Falls-Windsor, Roselie (husband Harold Morey) of South Brook, Gladys (husband Howard Fudge) of Embree, Audrey (husband Gerald Smith) of Lynn Lake, MB, Triffie (husband William Dunbar) of Sutten, Ont., Helen (husband Angus Short) of Robert’s Arm, Phronie (husband Tony Burton) Robert’s Arm. Also leaving to mourn sisters, Pearl Rowsell, Ruth Collett, Frances Yates and brother, Harold Burton, 40 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Pastor Robert Paddock conducted funeral services at World of Life Tabernacle, Robert’s Arm on August 19, 2008. Interment was at Pentecostal Cemetery, Robert’s Arm. Funeral arrangements were by Bill Weeks and Leander Hewlett of Green Bay White Dove, Springdale. Pallbearers were Dana Hammer, Alice Curtis, Toots Morey, Valerie Payne, Gerald Rideout and Margaret Bennett.

HEWLETT, ALBERTA BLANCHE
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alberta Blanche Hewlett announce her passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Complex in Springdale on August 16, 2008 at the age of 98. Blanche was a member of the Salvation Army, Springdale Corps. Predeceased by husband, Samuel Raymond Hewlett, two infant children, Timothy Pierce and Velma Jean. Left with fond and loving memories are her sons, Chesley Wilson Hewlett (Maud) of South Brook, Major Scott Ford Hewlett (Aqui) of Anshan City, China and daughter, Phyllis Ruby Hellier (Baxter) of Springdale. She had 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Majors Gerald and Doreen Lacey conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel in Springdale on August 19, 2008. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wilson Weir, Gerald Dalley, Clyde Follett, Raymond King, George Locke and Mabrey Winsor. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Mike Goodyear and Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.

WHELAN, MARY MARGARET
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Margaret Whelan announce her passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Complex in Springdale on August 18, 2008 at the age of 89. Mary Margaret was a member of the Grace United Church UCW group and taught Sunday school for many years. Predeceased by her husband, John and son, Brose. Left with fond and loving memories are her daughters, Yvonne of Regina, Saskatchewan and Joyce (Clayton) of Gambo. Also leaving to mourn seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a large number of nephews, nieces and many friends. Reverend Patricia Melindy conducted the funeral service at the Grace United Church in Springdale on August 21, 2008. Interment was at the Grace United Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tanya MacPherson, Rene Lush, Kimberley Neate, Ian MacPherson, Dwane Lush, Paul MacPherson and Stephanie Dove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes.

REGULAR, DORA
Ming’s Bight, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dora Regular, age 84, announce her sudden passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre in Baie Verte, NL on Saturday, August 23, 2008. Predeceased by her husband, Allan Regular; son, Guy Regular; parents, Robert Clarke and Flora Ann Clarke-King and siblings, Lillian Rice and Gordon Clarke. Left with fond and loving memories are her children, Robert Regular (Doreen), Phillip’s Head, NL, Gilbert Regular (Maisie), Ming’s Bight, NL, Roland Regular (Joan), St. John’s, NL, Lean Wight (Dave), Edmonton, AB, Sylvia Regular, Toronto, ON, and Terry Regular (Wavey), Newcastle, NB; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Randolph Clarke, Roland Clarke (Olive), and Olive Dicks; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Captains Brian and Betty Thomas conducted the funeral service at The Salvation Army Citadel and Cemetery, Ming’s Bight, NL on Wednesday, August 27, 2008. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gidues Philman Sacrey, age 88, announce his passing at The Miller Centre in St. John’s, NL on Wednesday, August 27, 2008. Predeceased by his wife, Maisie; brother, Ralph; and sister, Evelyn Spracklin. Left with fond and loving memories are sons Chris (Heikie), Baden, ON and Peter (Colleen), Winnipeg, MB; grandsons, Harley, Dillon and Brandon; sister, Maisie Decker (Rex); and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. George Stockley conducted the funeral service at Bethany United Church, Baie Verte, NL, Saturday, August 30, 2008. Interment followed from Faith United Church, Woodstock.
