It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rennie Heath announce
her passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre in Baie Verte on August
4, 2008 at the age of 52. Predeceased by her parents, Mable and
Lewis Heath, sister Louise Butt and brother Rex Heath. Left with fond and
loving memories are her husband Cecil Pinksen, son Andrew, daughter Stephanie
and stepchildren; Eric Pinksen and Glenda Philpott. Also leaving to mourn
sisters: Velma, Linda, Debbie, Angela, Hayley, Alma, Audrey, Lovejoy, Madeline,
June and Joan; brothers: Wallace, Wayne, Gordon, Lewis, Bruce and grandchild

OXFORD, SAMUEL G.
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Samuel
G. Oxford announce his passing at the Springdale Retirement
Center in Springdale on August 4, 2008 at the
age of 73. Sam retired from Advocate Mines in Baie Verte. Predeceased
by wife, Shirley; sister: Asenith Clarke and brother, Cecil Hollett.
Left with fond and loving memories are his son Brian Oxford (Trixie)
of Pickering, Ontario and daughters Sandra Oxford of Robert’s
Arm and Kim Oxford (Neil) of Ottawa, Ontario. Also leaving to
mourn sisters, Irene Baraoyk, Thelma Winsor, Behula Rowsell;
brother Bob Hollett and grandchildren, Stephanie, Jae (Sandra),

in Robert’s Arm on August 7, 2008. Interment was at the Salvation

OXFORD, LEONE JOYCE
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Leone
Joyce Oxford announce her passing at the Green Bay Health
Care Center in Springdale on August 14, 2008 at
the age of 62. Leone was a member of the United Church. Left
with fond and loving memories is her husband, Cyril. Also leaving
to mourn are her parents, Reuban and Lucy Locke; sister, Joan
(Wilson); brother, Larry (Muriel); two nieces, two nephews and
a large circle of family and friends. Jerry Weir conducted the
funeral service from the United Church in Little Bay Islands
on August 17, 2008. Interment was at the Interfaith Cemetery.

Passed away August 16, 2008 after a lengthy
illness Daisy Netta May Wiseman at Springdale
Hospital. She was 88 years of age. Predeceased by husband, William

Penbrook, Ont., Flossie (husband Norman Ralph) of Grand Falls-Windsor,
Roselie (husband Harold Morey) of South Brook, Gladys (husband
Howard Fudge) of Embree, Audrey (husband Gerald Smith) of Lynn
Lake, MB, Triffie (husband William Dunbar) of Sutten, Ont., Helen
(husband Angus Short) of Robert’s Arm, Phronie (husband Tony

Life Tabernacle, Robert’s Arm on August 19, 2008. Interment was
at Pentecostal Cemetery, Robert’s Arm. Funeral arrangements were
by Bill Weeks and Leander Hewlett of Green Bay White Dove, Springdale.
Pallbearers were Dana Hammer, Alice Curtis, Toots Morey, Valerie
Payne, Gerald Rideout and Margaret Bennett.
HEWLETT, ALBERTA BLANCHE
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alberta
Blanche Hewlett announce her passing at the Valley Vista
Seniors Complex in Springdale on August 16, 2008 at
the age of 98. Blanche was a member of the Salvation Army, Springdale
Corps. Predeceased by husband, Samuel Raymond Hewlett, two infant
children, Timothy Pierce and Velma Jean. Left with fond and loving
memories are her sons, Chesley Wilson Hewlett (Maud) of South
Brook, Major Scott Ford Hewlett (Aqui) of Anshan City, China
and daughter, Phyllis Ruby Hellier (Baxter) of Springdale. She
had 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Majors Gerald and Doreen Lacey conducted the funeral service
at the Salvation Army Citadel in Springdale on August 19, 2008.
Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers were
Wilson Weir, Gerald Dalley, Clyde Follett, Raymond King, George
Locke and Mabrey Winsor. Funeral arrangements were entrusted

WHELAN, MARY MARGARET
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary
Margaret Whelan announce her passing at the Valley Vista
Seniors Complex in Springdale on August 18, 2008 at
the age of 89. Mary Margaret was a member of the Grace United
Church UCW group and taught Sunday school for many years. Predeceased
by her husband, John and son, Brose. Left with fond and loving
memories are her daughters, Yvonne of Regina, Saskatchewan and
Joyce (Clayton) of Gambo. Also leaving to mourn seven grandchildren,
14 great-grandchildren and a large number of nephews, nieces
and many friends. Reverend Patricia Melindy conducted the funeral
service at the Grace United Church in Springdale on August 21,
2008. Interment was at the Grace United Cemetery. Pallbearers
