BOYDE, JOAN MINNIE
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joan Minnie Boyde (nee Rice) announce her passing at the Health Science Centre in St. John's of August 11, 2006 at the age of 66. Joan was a member of the Lab City/Wabush Corps of the Salvation Army and retired from Sears. Joan was predeceased by her husband, Rex Boyde. Left with fond and loving memories are sons Dennis of Labrador City and Tracy (wife, Anne Marie) of Qatar, and daughters Carol Anne (husband Charles Jerrett) of Paradise, Elaine (husband Kenneth Pafford) of Labrador City, and Elizabeth of Charlottetown, PEI. Also leaving to mourn are Woodrow and Joan Rice, Joy and Ford Heath, Terri Lynn Wheeler, Melissa Boyde, Kathryn Boyde, and Andrew Boyde. Captain Dwayne LeDrew conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Church on Tuesday, August 15, 2006. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Pilley's Island. Pallbearers were Ted Boyd, Bill Boyde, Otto Rice, Roy Anthony, Jim Rice, and Gord Roberts.

LODER, ERIC WILLIAM
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eric William Loder announce his passing at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor on the 12th of August at the age of 81. Eric was a member of St. Luke's Anglican Church, Springdale. Eric retired from George Warr Ltd. in 1985. He was predeceased by his mother, Ida. Left with fond and loving memories are wife, Gertie, sons Gordon (wife, Joanne) Loder of Springdale, and daughter Linda (husband, Ralph) Churchill of Portugal Cove. Also leaving to mourn are grandchildren Michelle and Jadie Churchill, and Robyn Loder, as well as a large number of friends. Rev. Mildred Tobin conducted the funeral service at St. Luke's Anglican Church on Tuesday, August 15, 2006. Interment was at the St. Luke's Anglican Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lou Doodley, Ken Monks, George Warr, Gilbert Penney, Roy Prole and Patryick Doodley.

HUXTER, GORDON HARRINGTON
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gordon Harrington Huxter announce his passing at the Valley Vista in Springdale on August 12, 2006, at the age of 89. Gordon Huxter was a Member of the Pentecostal Church and retired from Federal Inland Fisheries. He was predeceased by wife, Muriel, and three grandchildren Deidre, Amber and Heather. Left with fond and loving memories are sons Don (wife Lila) of Springdale, Ken (wife Cheryl) of Steady Brook, and Bob (wife Elaine) of Steady Brook, and daughters Karen of Pont Deshappelles, Haiti, and Sandra (husband Dickie) of Yarmouth, NS. Also leaving to mourn are sister, Margaret, brother, Ray, grandchildren Dave, Krista, Craig, Crystal, Brad, Robyn, Gordon, Dana-Lynn, Liette, Shondi, Blair, Caleb, and 18 great-grandchildren.. Pastors Head and Foster conducted the funeral service at the Pentecostal Church on Wednesday, August 16, 2006. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dave Huxter, Gordon Huxter, Jim Huxter, Tom Rose, Blair MacDonald, Don Huxter, Ken Huxter and Bob Huxter.

KIRBY, ANNIE MAUD
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Annie Maud Kirby announce her passing on August 13, 2006 at the Central Newfoundland Health Care Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor at the age of 82 years. Predeceased by her husband Richard, parents William and Elizabeth England; sisters Margaret Osmond, Gladys Knight, Irene Dicks, Clara Baker, brothers, Fred, Earl, Harvey, Donald, George and Herbert England. Left with fond and loving memories are son, Wayne (Golda) of Harry's Harbour, NL, daughters, Fronie (Charlie), of Springdale, NL, Patsy of Silverdale, NL. Also leaving to mourn sister Ella Senior (Peter), brother Caleb England (Margaret) sister-in-law Phyllis King, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Capts. Joshua and Pauline Randell conducted the funeral service from the Salvation Army Citadel, Harry's Harbour, NL on August 16, 2006. Interment was at the Interfaith Cemetery Jackson's Cove. Pallbearers were; Curtis Kirby, Kent Kirby, Lloyd Kirby, Sheldon Clarke, Reg King and Lisa England.

YOUNG, BERTHA JESSIE
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bertha Jessie Young announce her passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on August 16, 2006 at the age of 103 years old. Bertha was a member of the Pentecostal Assembly of Springdale. She is predeceased by husband Augustus, daughters Wavey and Marguerite. Left with fond and loving memories are daughters Ruby Michaud (Gerard) of Ontario, Marie Bennet (Charles) of Detroit, USA, Elsie Davis of Ontario, Audrey (Emerson) of Pasadena, NL, and Sharon (Gerald) of CBS, NL. Also leaving to mourn 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 21 great great grandchildren, along with extended family and friends. Pastor Lindsey Foster conducted the funeral service at the Pentecostal Church on August 19, 2006. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers were Carolyn & David Hachett, Dianne & Shaun Johnson, Emerson Fifield and David Young.

BAILEY, FREDERICK GEORGE
It is with great sadness that the families of the late Frederick George Bailey announce his passing on August 18, 2006 at the Green Bay Health Care Centre in Springdale at the age of 86 years. Fred was a member of the Grace United Church, Springdale; he also retired from the Hewlett Group, Springdale. Predeceased by parents Jane and Eikanah Bailey; sisters, Lydia, Annie and Janet; brothers, Timothy and Mercer. Left with fond and loving memories is wife Marjorie (Dove) of 50 years, daughter, Judy Bailey-Chafe (Stephen) of Paradise, NL. Also leaving to mourn sisters-in-law, Cleo Gillard (Raymond), Norma Dove, Verda Dove of Springdale; sisters, Violet Bailey of Petley, Beulah White (Frank) of Mount Pearl and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rev. Betty Robbins conducted the funeral service from the Grace United Church, Springdale, NL on August 21, 2006. Interment was at the Grace United Cemetery, Springdale. Pallbearers were, Robert Miller, Gerald Miller, Clyde Dove, Rick Buchanan, Lloyd Weir and Steadman Clarke.

HEAD, BRIDGET
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bridget Head announce her passing on August 18, 2006 at the Valley Vista Seniors Complex, Springdale, NL at the age of 74 years. Predeceased by parents; Michael & Elizabeth, sisters; Uliah Parsons, and Helen Head, brother Kevin Head. Left with fond and loving memories are, sister, Margaret Bowns, Spillway, NL brother Thomas Head, Triton, NL, special nieces, Theresa Croucher, South Brook and Marilyn Parsons Fort nelson, B.C. and a large circle of nieces and nephews and friends. Pastor George Hilliard conducted the funeral service from the Pentecostal Church South Brook, NL on August 20, 2006. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery, South Brook. Pallbearers were; Morris Parsons, Glenn Parsons, Mitch Parsons, Harry Curlew, Eric Thomas, Pete Conners.
