OSMOND, STANLEY HUBERT
WESTPORT

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Stanley Hubert Osmond, age 62, announce his passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre on Wednesday, August 16, 2000. He was predeceased by parents - Archibald and Sophie Osmond and brother-in-law - John McKinnon. Left with fond and loving memories are; wife - Jessie; sons - Kevin, Kitchener, ON and Keith, Westport; daughters - Krista Davis (Jason), Kitchener, ON and Kayla, Kitchener, ON. Also leaving to mourn: sister - Elizabeth McKinnon, St. John's; brothers - Rev. Thomas (Rev. Linda), Botwood and Lemand (Christine), Chelmsford, ON; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Diane Brett-Frye conducted the funeral service at St. Peter's Anglican Church and Cemetery, Westport on Friday, Aug. 18, 2000.

HICKMAN, HERBERT LEWIS -
SPRINGDALE

Passed away August 17, 2000, Herbert Lewis Hickman at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor. He was 71. Mr. Hickman retired from Toronto in 1990 and was a member of the International Ironworkers Union - Local 721. Predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Pearl (nee Hillier). Left to mourn are: daughters - Lillian Hickman of Montreal, Quebec, Mary (husband Rauly Brant) of Elmsdale, Nova Scotia and Sandra (husband Scott Dinsmore) of Prince George, British Columbia. Also leaving to mourn are: sisters - Mary Burke of Sydney, NS, Ester Hanson of Regina, SK.; brothers - George and Curtis of Stephenville and Norman of Sydney, NS.; five grandchildren - Meeka Chirowski, Rauly and Darren Brant, Hugh and Jennifer Dinsmore; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Dianne Brett-Frye conducted the funeral service at St. Luke's Anglican Church, Springdale on August 20, 2000. Interment was at the Anglican Cemetery, Springdale.

MAYE, EDMUND RALPH -
PILLEY'S ISLAND

Passed away August 18, peacefully Edmund Ralph Maye at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Care Center at Grand Falls - Windsor. Predeceased by two sons Kerry and Duane, and parents Pearce and Maude Maye. Left to mourn are: wife Marie; sons Corbin (Lorna) of Robert's Arm; Trevor (Leeanne) of Moncton, NB; Tracy (Lisa) of Slave Lake, AB. Also leaving to mourn are sisters Ruby, Doreen and Linda, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a large circle of family and friends. Captain Austin Randell conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army, Pilley's Island on August 21, 2000 Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery.

JACOBS, SOPHIA C. P. -
WESTPORT

Passed away August 20, 2000, Sophia C. P. Jacobs at the Janeway Children's Hospital, St. John's. She was 13 years old. Left to mourn are parents Phoebe and Stanley Jacobs, brothers - Allan (Valerie) of Kamloops, BC., Stephen of Prince George, BC., David of Stewart, BC., and Corey of Westport. Also leaving to mourn are three nephews - Jonathan, Anthony and Gregory; two nieces - Ashley and Cory-Lynn and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Brother Gerald Payne conducted the funeral service at the family home in Westport on August 23, 2000. Interment was at the Jehovah's Witness Cemetery, Baie Verte.

VOKEY, ERNEST WILLIAM GEORGE -
STEPHENVILLE

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ernest William George Vokey, age 86, announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville on August 22, 2000. Mr. Vokey was a member of the LOL for many years. He was predeceased by his parents - Jonathan and Elizabeth Vokey, sister - May Bartlett and brothers - Walter, Alex and Stafford. Left with fond and loving memories are wife - Blanche; son - Tony (Betty), Stephenville; daughter - Pearl Dawson (Hugh), Seal Cove; grandchildren - Amy Dawson, Nada Dawson, Cynthia Vokey, Chad Vokey and Myra Dawson as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. William Ford conducted the funeral service at Riverside United Church, Burlington on August 25, 2000. Interment followed at the Bethany United Church Cemetery, Baie Verte.

GLAVINE, EDWARD FREDERICK -
FLEUR DE LYS

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edward Frederick Glavine, age 87, announce his passing at the Baie verte Peninsula Health Centre on Saturday, August 26, 2000. He was predeceased by his parents - Patrick and Agnes Glavine, sisters - Lillian Houston, Margaret Whiffen, Alice Carey and brother - Bernard. Left with fond and loving memories are: sons - Patrick (Joan), Codroy Valley, Edward (Joan), Surrey, BC, Jude (Bonnie), Baie Verte, Michael (Sharon Walsh), Fleur De Lys and daughters - Dolly O'Quinn (Brian Corbett),Quispamsis, NB, Agnes Glavine, Calgary, AB, Elizabeth Glavine (Stephen Walsh), Fleur De Lys, Helen Hollett (Bryan), Edmonton, AB, Alice Glavine (John Canning), Fleur De Lys, Theresa Dueck (Dave), Winnipeg, MB, Martina Glavine (Arthur Arnott), Fort McMurray, AB, and Muriel Glavine (Wade Lewis) Burlington, ON. Also leaving to mourn: sister - Gertrude Penton, 27 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Edward Brophy conducted the funeral mass at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Fleur De Lys on Wednesday, August 30, 2000.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Margaret Eleanor (Helen) Glavine, age 73, announce her passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre on Monday, August 28, 2000. She was predeceased by her parents - Michael and Mary Francis Lewis and brothers - Gus and Michael. Left with fond and loving memories are: sons - Patrick (Joan), Codroy Valley, Edward (Joan), Surrey, BC, Jude (Bonnie), Baie Verte, Michael (Sharon Walsh), Fleur De Lys and daughters - Dolly O'Quinn (Brian Corbett), Quispamsis, NB, Agnes Glavine, Calgary, AB, Elizabeth Glavine (Stephen Walsh), Fleur De Lys, Helen Hollett (Bryan), Edmonton, AB, Alice Glavine (John Canning), Fleur De Lys, Theresa Dueck (Dave), Winnipeg, MB, Martina Glavine (Arthur Arnott), Fort McMurray, AB, and Muriel Glavine (Wade Lewis) Burlington, ON.
