It is with great sadness that the family of the late Angela Drover, age 79, announce her passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL, on Friday, April 1, 2011. Predeceased by her husband - Patrick; infant twins; parents - Stephen & Lucy Shelley; siblings - Gerald Shelley and Elizabeth Shelley; parents-in-law - James & Sarah Drover; siblings-in-law - Elizabeth Brien, Thomas Drover, Marie Tulk, and Marie Drover. Father David Joy conducted the funeral mass at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Baie Verte, NL on Monday, April 4, 2011. Interment followed at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Cemetery, Baie Verte, NL. Pallbearers were William Shelley, James Shelley, Thomas Shelley, Patrick Shelley, Chris Tobin and George Lewis. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

UPWARD, LAWSON MICHAEL
1940-2011
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mr. Lawson Upward announces his passing in New Market, ON, on April 3, 2011 at the age of 70. Predeceased by parents, William and Hilda Upward; brothers: Leonard, Stewart; and sisters: Louise Caravan and Giralda Mews. Left with fond and loving memories is his wife Mrs. Martha (Gillingham) Upward; children: Jerry (Caroline), Sharon (Kevin Link), Karen (Steve Schlosser), Bruce (Sonya) and Nicole (Russell Webber). Also leaving to mourn grandchildren: Derrick, Cara, Jenny, Jennifer, Christopher, Natasha, Michael, Jeremiah, Jasmine, Gregory, Gary and Gordy, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Reverend Sharon Marshall conducted the funeral service from the United Church in Harry's Harbour on April 9, 2011. Interment was at the United Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were sons Bruce and Jerry; grandsons, Derrick Upward and Christopher Link and sons-in-law, Kevin Link and Steven Schlosser. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

MARSH, JAMES "JIM"
1959-2011
It is with great sadness that the family of the late James Marsh announces his passing at the Green Bay Health Care Center in Springdale on April 4, 2011 at the age of 71. James was a member of St. Luke's Anglican Church Men's Fellowship, Secretary/Treasurer of St. Luke's Anglican Church. James retired from H&R Block. Predeceased by father and mother, John & Phoebe Marsh; sisters: Mildred, Sarah, Violet, Rita, Helda and Kathleen; brothers: Walter, Ronald, Stanley and Arthur. Left with fond and loving memories is his wife, Vivian Marsh; sons: Brian (Brenda) of Ft. McMurray, AB, Darren (Kim) of New Minas, NS, daughters: Anita (Mark) of Omemee, ON, and Angela (Jamie) of Lloydminister, AB. Also leaving to mourn, brothers Mark & Eliol; grandchildren: Tad, Chad, Amie, Ashley, Bradley, Chelsea, Kayla & Caitlyn and many other family members and friends. Rev. Madonna Boone conducted the funeral service from St. Luke's Anglican Church in Springdale on Friday, April 8, 2011. Interment was at the Anglican Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brian Marsh, Darren Marsh, Chad Marsh, Bradley Marsh, William Abbott and Jake Foss. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

MEWS, DONALD G.
December 31, 1926-April 6, 2011
Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, Donald G. Mews, 84 years, of Harry's Harbour. Predeceased by his loving wife, Giralda, of 57 years; three of his four sons: Roy, Larry, and Bill; and his parents: Jane (Osmond) and Ephraim Mews of Birchy Bay; his stepfather, Samuel; and his step-sister, Rowena. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories: his only daughter, Marie, and her husband, Kevin R. Neil, Spaniard's Bay, Newfoundland; and his only living son, Kevin, and his partner, Cathy, Vancouver Island, British Columbia; daughters-in-law: Loretta (Bill) of Mount Pearl, and Gloria (Larry) of Toronto; five grand-children: Majesta and Sheana in Toronto, Justin and Crystal in Mount Pearl, and Michael in Spaniard's Bay; and one great-granddaughter, Rhea, in Mount Pearl. Also leaving to mourn: sisters-in-law: Ellen (Nell) of St. John's, Ruple of Toronto, and Ruby of Twillingate. Don will be missed by his extended family and his many friends, including the residents and staff of Callingwood Downs Personal Care Home, Clarke's Beach. Resting at Central Funeral Home, Springdale, with visitation on Friday (3-5 and 7-9) and on Saturday (3-5 and 7-9). Funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 10 from the United Church in Harry's Harbour. Interment to follow in the United Church Cemetery, Harry's Harbour. Donations in Don's memory may be made to the Harry's Harbour United Church Building Fund or to a charity of one's choice.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Augustus Sidney Norman, age 85, announce his passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL, on Friday, April 8, 2011. Predeceased by his wife - Viola; an infant son and two infant daughters; parents - John & Lavinia Norman; siblings - Baxter Norman, Cora Pollard, Linda Norman, John Norman, Gertie Greenham, Susie Stuckless and Hazel Burton; siblings-in-law - Hughie Pollard, Heman Norman, Lawrence Stuckless, Augustus Toms, Chesley Andrews, Gwendolyn Lane, Hubert Gillingham & Frank Lane. Rev. Sidney Newbury conducted the funeral service at First United Church & Cemetery, Pacquet, NL on Sunday, April 10, 2011. Pallbearers were grandsons - Richard Norman, Jamie Norman, Tyler Norman, Jason Norman, Joshua Simms & Travis Simms. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

GREEN, EDWARD CHARLES
1930-2011

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mr. Edward Charles Green announce his passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on April 15, 2011 at the age of 90. Edward Charles Green was a member of the Salvation Army. Edward retired from Abitibi Price. Predeceased by parents, Chesley & Martha Green. Left with fond and loving memories is his wife Nellie Green; sons: Bryan Green (Sharon) of Springdale, Bobby Green - grandson as son (Samantha) of Labrador City; daughters: Wavey (Eric) of Burlington, Evelyn (George) of Burlington, Pansy (Bud) of Sparwood, BC, Shirley (Otto) of Miles Cove, Daisy (Bob) of Tumbler Ridge, Betty (Bruce) of Springdale, Roxanne of Springdale and Tina of Springdale. Also leaving to mourn brother Whitfield (Betty) Green of Toronto, 21 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Majors Gerald & Doreen Lacey conducted the funeral service from the Salvation Army Citadel in Springdale on April 19, 2011 at 1:00 pm. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bryan Green, Kurt Green, Bobby Green, Scottie Green, Rodney Newbury, Bradley Butt, Clair Butt, Scottie McCarthy and Steven Penney. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

KELLEY, ALLAN
1935-2011
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Allan Kelley announces his passing at the Central Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on April 21, 2011 at the age of 76. Allan was a member of the United Church. Allan Kelley retired from Logging. Predeceased by sons, Peter and David, parents Edward and Elsie and brother William. Left with fond and loving memories is his wife, Dulcie Kelley; sons: Larry Kelley of Alberta, Jimmy Kelley of St. John's; step-sons: Shane Mills of Burlington and daughter Sally Kelley of Corner Brook. Also leaving to mourn sisters: Madelyn Upward and Irene Locke; brothers, Herman Kelley and Frank Kelley as well as a large circle of grandchildren and friends. Reverend Sharon Early Marshall conducted the funeral service from the United Church in Jacksons Cove on April 24, 2011. Interment was at the Jacksons Cove Cemetery. Pallbearers were George Kelley, Guy Batstone, Ross Osmond, Ronald Gillard, Terry Kelley and Harold Batstone. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

BURTON, RUBY D.
La Scie, NL
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ruby D. Burton, age 78, announce her passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre on Friday, April 22, 2011. Predeceased by her husband - Lloyd; son - Milton; parents - Ambrose & Jesse Hillier; brothers - Stewart (Mabel), Lester & Clifford; parents-in-law - Edwin & Gertrude Burton; siblings-in-law - Randolph Burton, Robert Burton (Mildred), Ella Inder (Chesley), Gordon Hamlyn, Idella Burton, Raymond Noseworthy & Rose Morey. Left with fond and loving memories are her son - Barry (Kay); granddaughter - Melissa, all of La Scie, NL; siblings-in-law - Rita Hamlyn, Ralph Burton, Clarence Burton (Clara), Marina Gray (Raymond), James Burton (Marion), Betty Noseworthy, Doreen Morey, Bon Burton (Shirley), Kathleen Gillingham (Roy), Louise Gillingham (Ralph), Hazel Burton; many nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Harry Oake conducted the funeral service at Zion United Church and Cemetery, La Scie, NL, on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. Pallbearers were Sheila Toms, Madge Toms, Eugene Gray, Fraser Goulding, Jason Critch & Randy Critch. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral home, Baie Verte.

SIMMS, DERRICK
1947-2011
Derrick Simms
, Triton, passed peacefully away April 27, 2011 at St. Clare's Hospital, after losing his battle with a rare lung disease. He was born to Josiah and Evangeline Simms May 4, 1947 and married Karen Vincent in 1973. Together they raised three wonderful children. Dicky, as he was affectionately called, enjoyed life, family and friends to the fullest and always enjoyed a good laugh. He was dedicated not only to his family but also his church and was always eager to help whenever there was a need. He leaves with wonderful memories wife, Karen, children Cain, Jane & Lance (Melissa); grandchildren Marlena, Morgan, Zachary, Lexie & Keenan; brothers Harvey, Jim (Marie), Bill (Betty), Eric (Elsie); sisters Melita, Carrie, Ceila (Otto), Lily (Harold), Juanita (Jim), as well as a very large circle of other relatives and friends. He will be remembered with affection by all who knew him. The Salvation Army Citadel, Triton, was filled to capacity on Sunday, May 1 as Majors Larry & Phyllis Fudge conducted the funeral service which was a tribute to a life well lived. The Fire Department formed an honour guard and then led the processional to the interment at Triton Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews Trevor Simms, Lindy Vincent, Pat Williams and friends Roger Burton, Lawrence Budgell, Tobbie Roberts. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gail Noel and Harry Oxford of Green Bay Funeral Home.

DERRY, CPL. JASON C.S.
1965-2011
At Baie Verte, Newfoundland on Saturday, April 30, 2011, Cpl. Jason Derry R.C.M.P., age 45 years. Beloved husband of Donna (nee Sherren) and loving father of Brandon and Connor. Son of John Derry (Fran Reese) and Sharon Moore (Sherman Buchanan). Son-in-law of Elvin and Shirley Sherren. Dear brother of Sebastian (Colleen) Derry, Andrea Derry-MacCormac and Felicity Derry Measham (Jeremy), brother-in-law of Gary (Janice) Sherren, Kevin (Linda) Sherren, Norma-Jean (Wade) Waugh, Lorna-Mae (Alan) Spence, Wendy (Michael) Doucette and Darlene (John) Decourcey. Jason is also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandparents John and Marie Derry, George and Mary Moore and his nephew Derek Spence. Funeral Mass was celebrated from St. Dunstan's Basilica, Charlottetown P.E.I. on Saturday May 7, 2011. Interment took place in the Sherwood Cemetery. A memorial mass was held on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at 2:30 from St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Baie Verte.
