Formerly of Westport, NL
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Arthur Ferdinand Rice, age 81, announce his passing at the Senior Citizen's Home, Clarke's Beach, NL on Wednesday, April 4, 2007. Predeceased by: his parents, Theodore & Margaret Rice; sisters, Mary Hurley, Lydia Hurley and Eloise Ricketts; brothers, Clarence Rice & Charlie Rice. Left with fond and loving memories are: his wife, Effie, Clarke's Beach, NL; children, Joan Gavin (David), Clarke's Beach, NL, Guy (Tamar), Snow Lake, MB, Christine Jacobs (Glynn), Marathon, ON, Hazel Jones (Brian), Jackson's Arm, NL and Blanche Colbourne (Shayne), Thompson, MB; 13 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Rhoda Gale (Harry), Westport, NL; brothers, Thomas Rice (Myrtle), Purbeck's Cove, NL, Garland Rice (Jesse), Purbeck's Cove, NL and Melvin Rice (Eileen), Hampden, NL; sister-in-law, Margaret Rice, St. John's, NL; brother-in-law, Thomas Ricketts, Sops Arm, NL; a large number of special nephews and nieces, extended family and friends. Rev. David Russell conducted the funeral service at St. Peter's Anglican Church & Cemetery, Westport, NL on Sunday, April 8, 2007. Pallbearers were Dennis Rice, Tom Rice, Dale Ricketts, Clayton Davis, Grogan Ricketts, Bill Hurley. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

KELSEY, JOHN MALCOLM
Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on April 4, 2007, John Malcolm Kelsey of Clarke's Beach, age 80 years. Predeceased by his only sibling, Rachel of Hull, England in March 2006. John was a native of Hull, a veteran of WWII and a retired Canadian Marconi employee who had previously resided in Goose Bay and Baie Verte. His wife, Elizabeth, survives him; as well as daughters, Hazel Glavanis of England and Elizabeth Young of Spain; step-children, Stephen, Christopher, Michael, Joanna and Jennifer Lang; and grandsons, Michael Glavanis of Egypt and Alexander Glavanis of the UK. John was an avid gardener who devoted his retirement years to the beautification of his property and his community. Cremation has taken place with private inurnment at a later date.

BURTON, EDWARD “TED” R.
It is with great sadness that the families of the late Edward “Ted” R. Burton announce his passing at the Green Bay Health Care Centre in Springdale on April 6, 2007 at the age of 75. Ted retired from MacKeil's Marine in 2002. Predeceased by parents, Sandy and Jessie Burton. Left with fond and loving memories are: wife, Faye Burton; son, Marcel Burton; and daughter Heather Burton (Greg). Also leaving to mourn sisters; Joy Fudge, Betty Oake, Lulu Verge, Joan Burton and Marion Burton; brothers, Ernest Burton and Gerald Burton. Reverend Barbara Noble conducted the funeral service at the United Church in Beaumont on April 9, 2007. Interment was at the Beaumont United Church cemetery. Pallbearers were Max Burton, Gilbert Burton, Ross Rowsell, Tom Parsons, Roland Fudge and Gordon Butt. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

ROBINSON, RITA MINNIE
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rita Minnie Robinson announce her passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Complex in Springdale on April 8, 2007 at the age of 75. Rita Robinson was a member of the Salvation Army and the Salvation Army Home League, King's Point. Predeceased by: husband, George Robinson; parents, John and Hazel Foster; daughter-in-law, Vera Robinson. Left with fond and loving memories are sons, Clarance Foster (Delores) of Mississauga, ON; Jerry Robinson (Edna) of Boyles, AB; Bruce Robinson (Chloe) of King's Point, NL; Mervin Robinson (Colleen) of Riverview, NB; and John Robinson of King's Point, NL; daughter Kathleen Robinson of King's Point, NL. Also leaving to mourn sisters, Marie Burton (Albert), Hilda Rideout (Robert); brothers, Clarance Foster (Audrey), Otto Foster (Chloe), Warrick Foster (Loretta); nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, along with a large circle of other relatives and friends. Captain Joshua & Pauline Randell conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel on April 12, 2007 . Interment was at the King's Point Interfaith Cemetery . Pallbearers were Clarance Foster, Jerry Robinson, Bruce Robinson, Kathleen Robinson, Mervin Robinson, and John Robinson. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes.

MILLEY, NORMAN WARRICK
It is with great sadness that the families of the late Norman Warrick Milley announce his passing at the Green Bay Health Care Center in Springdale on April 12, 2007 at the age of 75. Predeceased by: parents, George and Jane Milley; brothers, Ralph and Hubert; and sisters, Ida Burt and Gertie Locke. Left with fond and loving memories are: sons, Cedric (Janice) of Roberts Arm, Elvis (Glenda) of Port Anson, Scott (Joy) of Pacquet, and Chris (Leanne) of Woodstock; and daughter, Evelyn Newman (James) of South Brook. Also leaving to mourn: sisters, Dorothy Milley, Rowena Burton; brother, Verdon (Lillian), 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Pastor George Hilliard conducted the funeral service at the Pentecostal Church in South Brook on Monday, April 16, 2007. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers were sons, Cedric, Elvis and Christopher; grandsons, Leroy, Aaron and Christian Milley. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear, Marilyn Stuckless and Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.

DAWE, SARAH
Passed away April 12, 2007 peacefully, Sarah Dawe at Sidney and Lillian Rideout's residence. She was 100 years old. Mrs. Dawe was predeceased by: husband, Thomas Dawe; daughter, Cora Toms. Left to mourn are: son, Cluney (Wife Phyllis) of King's Point, NL; five grandchildren, Lillian (Sidney), Tony (Nina), Glenis (Ron), King's Point, Junior (Patricia), Labrador City, Sheila (Dennis), St. John's; nine great-grandchildren, Valerie (Sheldon), Kevin (Kim), Jennifer (Jarett), Jo-Anne, Justin, King's Point, Rodney (Brenda), Barren (Sherri), Labrador City, Shawna (Ben), Port Hardy, BC, Thomas, St. John's; five great-great-grandchildren, Felicia, Claudette, of King's Point, Spencer, Hailey, Thomas, of Labrador City; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Reverend Pat Melindy conducted funeral services at the United Church in King's Point, April 14, 2007. Interment was at United Church Rattling Brook. Funeral arrangements were by Bill Weeks, Leander Hewlett and David Chaulk. Pallbearers were Tony Dawe, Jo-Anne Dawe, Valerie Rideout, Kevin Rideout, Justin Roberts and Glenis Roberts.

GILLARD, RAYMOND CHARLES
It is with great sadness that the families of the late Raymond Charles Gillard announce his passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on April 13th at the age of 78. Raymond was a member of the Grace United Church. Raymond retired from the Dept. of Transportation and Labor. Predeceased by parents, Albert and Lydia Gillard; brother, Pearce Gillard and sister, Marion Kennedy. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Cleo Gillard; and son, David of Vancouver, B.C. Also leaving to mourn sister Mabel of Gander, brothers Gordon (Irene) of Twillingate, John (Amy) of Twillingate and Douglas (Rita) of Beamsville, Ontario. Reverend Betty Robbins conducted the funeral service at the Grace United Church in Springdale on April 7, 2007. Interment was at the United Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Clyde Dove, Roger Dove, Stephen Chafe, Arthur Clarke, Maurice Kennedy and Lance Kennedy. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

SACREY, CORA FLORENCE
Ming's Bight, NL
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Cora Florence Sacrey, age 69, announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Wednesday, April 17, 2007. Predeceased by: her daughter, Glenda Sacrey; parents, Charles & Janet Greenham; sisters, Flossie, Olive, Mae; brothers, Harold, Sidney; parents-in-law, Dawe & Melina Sacrey. Left with fond and loving memories are her husband, Harvey; children, Mildred Clarke (Hubert), Woodstock, NL, Gertie Sacrey (William), Fraser Lake, BC, Boyce (Joy), Woodstock, NL, Woodrow Sacrey (Cavell), Snook's Arm, NL, Marion Budden (Perry), Sop's Arm, NL, Nola Osbourne (Keyward), Snook's Arm, NL, Steve Sacrey (Lucy), Mississauga, ON, Roger (Norma), Clayton (Goldie), Tina Sacrey (Roger Wiseman), all of Ming's Bight, NL; granddaughter - Dana (Andrew); 21 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Sandy Regular (Doris), Guy Greenham (Florence), Audrey Chaulk (Ronald), Eileen Boyd (Malcolm) and Marion Osmond (Robert); sisters-in-law, Bernice Greenham & Margaret Greenham; and a large circle of other relatives & friends. Captains David & Wavey Chaulk conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel and Cemetery, Ming's Bight, on Saturday, April 21, 2007. Pallbearers were sons, Roger Sacrey, Clayton Sacrey; grandsons, Joshua Sacrey, Aaron Sacrey, Mason Budden and great-grandson, Tony Mitchell. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

NOBLE, RUDY ARTHUR
Nipper's Harbour, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rudy Arthur Noble, age 76, announce his passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Center, Baie Verte, NL on Saturday, April 21, 2007. Predeceased by: his parents, William J. & Mary Noble; brother, Robert Noble; parents- in-law, Frederick & Daisy Bowers; brothers-in-law, Benjamin Bowers, Gary Bowers, Robert Bowers and Harold Foote. Left with fond and loving memories are: wife, Marie E.; son, Rodger Noble (Robin), Nipper's Harbour, NL; daughters, Edna Pollard (Neville), Appleton, NL, Ruby Noble (Boyce), Flowers Cove, NL, and Wanda Smith (Wendell), Pasadena, NL; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, June Foote, Hester Prole (Roy), sister-in-law, Greta Osbourne (Warrick) and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Wade Noble, Scott Prole, Wayne Bowers, Wayne Blanchard, Lloyd Polland & Edward Prole. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's Funeral Home, Baie Verte.

BUTT, LLOYD
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing, at the age of 78, of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Lloyd Butt of Springdale. Left to mourn are: his devoted wife of 57 years, Evelyn; and their children; son, (Ewen), daughters, Cora (Bren Snow), Ella (Eldon Singer), Dianne (Ed Follett) and Tavis (Larry Bouzane). Also left to miss their “Dad Butt” is his 13 grandchildren: Stephen, Shelley, Danny, Jill, Krista, Stephanie, Jennifer, David, Christine, Andrew, Lawrence, Alex and Matthew and his five great grandchildren: Rebekah, Brenden, Hayden, Mackenzie and baby Hannah. Lloyd also leaves behind his sister Beatrice Clarke and his brothers, Fred, Ford and Baxter Butt, as well as many other friends and relatives, especially special friends Bill and Jessie Barrett and Dr. and Mrs. J. Austria. Funeral services took place on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at the Springdale Pentecostal Church at 2: 00 p.m. Flowers greatly accepted or donations may be made to the Newfoundland Chapter of the Lung Association. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes.

HARVEY, GLADYS ELIZABETH (LUSH)
Passed peacefully away at Western Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook on April 22, 2007, Gladys Elizabeth (Lush) at the age of 90 years. Mrs. Harvey was a former member of the W.M. Group Sunday School of the Badger Pentecostal Church. Predeceased by parents, Samuel and Mary Bignell; husbands, Oliver Lush and Jerry Harvey; sisters, Violet and Julia; son-in-law, Gary; great-granddaughter Sarah; niece, Kathy. Left to mourn are sons, Harvey (wife, Susie) Kippen's; Gerald (wife, Daphne) Pasadena; Ivan (wife, Barbara) St. Albert, AB; Keith (wife, Elaine) Swift Current, NL; step-sons, Jerry Harvey (wife, Lynn) Florida, U.S.A.; Gary Harvey (wife, Barbara) Saginaw, Michigan, U.S.A.; daughters, Yvonne (husband, Fred Rideout) Middle Arm, Ruth, Fort McMurray, AB, Loretta (husband, Nelson Dicks) Inuvik, NWT, Marilyn (husband, Brent deFreitas) Fort McMurray, AB; step-daughter, Sally (husband, Steven Harris) Saginaw, Michigan, U.S.A. Also leaving to mourn, sisters, Martha, Fay, Doris, Jean and brother, Gordon; 33 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastors C. Andrews and S. Goulding conducted funeral services at the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Badger. Interment was at the Pentecostal Cemetery in Badger. Funeral arrangements were by Hoskins Funeral Home, Grand Falls-Windsor. Pallbearers were Gordon Loder, Robert Newhook, Frank Card, Howard Noseworthy, Charles Young, Harvey Noseworthy.

HIBBS, CLAUDE HENRY
It is with great sadness that the families of the late Claude Henry Hibbs announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Hospital in Grand Falls-Windsor on April 25, 2007 at the age of 75. Claude Hibbs was a member of the Maranatha Pentecostal Church, Triton. Claude Hibbs retired from Fishery Products International in 1992. Predeceased by: parents, Thomas and Maryann Hibbs; one brother, 2 stepbrothers and 2 stepsisters. Left with fond and loving memories are: his wife Evelyn; sons, Lloyd (Winnie) of Triton, Stephen (Elaine) of Moncton, Roger (Wavey) of Triton and Kayward (Brenda) of Grand Falls-Windsor; daughters, Susan (Orvin Budgell) of Triton, Velma (Randy Carey) of Grand Falls-Windsor, Dianne of Triton, Sharon (Tobbie Roberts) of Triton and Lois Ann (Tyson Heath) of Roberts Arm. Also leaving to mourn: one stepsister, Clemie Ryan of Roberts Arm; three stepbrothers, Baxter Roberts of Roberts Arm, Wesley Roberts and Clayton Hibbs of Triton; grandchildren, Tonya Sweetapple of Fort McMurray, Troy Hibbs of Deer Lake, Trinette Vincent of Ormoncto, N.B., Terri Lynn Hibbs of Moncton, N.B., Jennifer Hill of Triton, Jill Roberts of Gander, Christopher Hibbs, Deena Hibbs, Robynann Roberts of Triton, Thomas Hibbs of Grand Falls-Windsor, Paige Roberts of Triton and Ivory Ann Heath of Roberts Arm, as well as great grandchildren, Brittany Hibbs and Riley Hill of Triton, Abigal Vincent of Ormoncto, N.B., Gabriel Hibbs, Faith Hibbs and Noah Hibbs of Deer Lake, Seth Roberts and Tristian Roberts of Triton. Pastors Glen and Enid Chaulk conducted the funeral service at the Maranatha Pentecostal Church on April 2, 2007. Interment was at the Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers were Aubrey Roberts, Augustus Roberts, Otto Roberts, Wayne Hedges, Calvin Snow and Ford Parsons. Honorary pallbearer was Hubert Hibbs. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear, Jim Maidment and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.

RYAN, JESSIE MARIE
It is with great sadness that the families of the late Jessie Marie Ryan announce her passing at the Central Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on April 26, 2007 at the age of 77. Jessie was a member of The Salvation Army. Predeceased by: husband, Roland; parents, Daniel and Myrtle Campbell; brothers, John, Bert and Ches; sisters, Mimmie and Doreen and great granddaughter Sarah. Left with fond and loving memories are: son, Cecil (Pansy) of Guelph, Ontario; daughters, Sandra (Clayton) of Robert's Arm and Vera (Cecil) of Miles Cove. Also leaving to mourn: grandchildren, Sandie (Laurier), Cindy (Blair), Danny, Carolyn (Wade), and David; six great grandchildren: Jessica, Ryan, Alexandria , Jake, Meaghan and Aiden, as well as brothers, Maxwell (Hazel), Daniel (Alfreda) and James (Juanita). Captains Morgan and Lisa Hillier, assisted by Pastor Brown and Pastor Yvonne Simms conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Church in Roberts Arm on Sunday, April 29, 2007. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers were Carl Paddock, Adolphus Morey, Harold Oake, Bramwell Rice, Ross Rideout and Bob Ryan. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.
