COLES, Randolf (Randy) Ross
Passed on: September 7th, 2017

It is with great loss and sadness that the family of Randolf "Randy" Ross Coles of Sandy Cove announces his passing on Thursday September 7, 2017 at the age of 46 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Nadine; children Mackie, Robyn and Ryan; brother Barney (Selena); sisters Marsha (Ken), Sherri (Quinten); father-in-law Jacob White; brothers-in-law Keith (Bernice), Jake (Wanda); special aunt Hazel; nieces Tana, Meghan, Caitlin, Summer, Laura, Laci, Kayla, Tiffany, Kate; nephews Riley, Willie, Leland; special friends Morgan Hodge, Brad Hodge, Faren Pittman, Glen Barrett, Garf Way and many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Edith Coles and mother-in-law Pauline White. The family invited friends to visit at St. Mark's Anglican Church in Savage Cove from Sunday 7:00pm to Wednesday 10:00am, a family service was held on Tuesday at 8:00pm and the funeral service took place on Wednesday at 2:00pm with interment following in Savage Cove Anglican Cemetery with The Rev Omar Reyes officiating. Family and friends may visit the website at www.fillatre.ca to sign the guestbook or leave messages of condolence. Arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre Funeral Homes Ltd in Port au Choix.

COOMBS, Marion Eileen (nee Way)
Passed on: September 3rd, 2017

Marion was born in Savage Cove on July 14, 1935, to Ann Maria Way (White) of Sandy Cove and Stephen Way of Savage Cove. Marion passed away in St. John's after a brief illness at the age of 82 years. Orphaned at a young age, Marion lived at the Grenfell Orphanage in St. Anthony, she spent her summers in Plum Point with her aunt Ellen and uncle Noah and is where she met her future husband Ben Coombs. Marion was known in her community for her fine singing voice and her open and warm heart. The home she made with her husband Ben was always welcoming to family, friends and strangers. Marion was dearly loved by her family and friends. Marion is missed by her loving husband of fifty-eight years Ben, and her children and their spouses: Chris and his wife Krista, Dan and his wife Carol, and Sheila and her husband Craig, and her grandchildren Benjamin, Halle, Anna, Ellen and Stephen. She was predeceased by her infant grandson (Carol and Dan), her older sisters Mary Hunt (Way) and Gladys Gontard (Way). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Church of the Advent Plum Point will be graciously accepted. Visitation was held from the Church of the Advent Anglican Church in Plum Point from where the funeral was held at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 8th with Rev. Jennifer Renouf officiating. Interment followed in the Pond Cove Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard funeral director.

GAULTON, Laura Veronica
Passed on: September 20th, 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of Laura Veronica Gaulton of Castor River South announces her passing at the Rufus Guinchard Health Center, Port Saunders on Wednesday September 20th at the age of 86 years. She leaves to mourn daughters; Rowena (Joe) Rumbolt, Laurie Gaulton (Oscar), Elaine (Eymard) Scanlon, Laverne Gaulton, Jane Gaulton, Eunice Gaulton, Selma Gaulton, Jane (Ben) Rumbolt; son Percy Gaulton; grandchildren: Edmund, Serena, Corey, Lorinda, Ian, Cameron, Wade, Mandy, Joanne, Jeffrey; great grandchildren: Alyson, Jada, Logan, Braden, Connor, Joan, Willow, Jonah, Lily, Marcus, Marissa, Keira, Max, Marshall; sisters; Cecilia, Nomie; sisters-in-law: Blanche Hughes, Imelda Coles Elizabeth Tatchell; brothers-in-law: Patrick Scanlon, John Rumbolt; as well as many extended family and friends. She was predeceased by husband Ralph Gaulton; son Ralph Jr.; parents: George and Rebecca Tatchell; brothers: Edmund, Henry, Jerome, Ralph; sisters: Dorothy, Geraldine; sons-in-law: Aloysius, Ewan; brothers-in-law: Abe Rumbolt, Jerome Rumbolt. A funeral service was held at Queen of the Angels Church Castor River South on Saturday 23rd. September at 2:30 pm with Father Raj of Port au Choix officiating and interment followed at Bartlett's Hr. cemetery. Family and friends may leave messages of condolence or sign the guestbook by visiting the website at www.fillatre.ca   Arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre Funeral Homes Ltd. Port au Choix.

HALL, BARRY SCOTT
Passed peacefully away after a brief illness at Laval University Hospital in Quebec City on September 11th, 2017 while on route home from vacation in Ontario at the age of 70 years. It is with a broken heart we announce the sudden passing of Barry Scott Hall. Scott lost his battle at 1:00 am in Quebec City when his huge heart grew tired and needed to rest. Scott loved life and people and made a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was caring and compassionate and a very loving person, always putting the needs of others before his own. Scott loved the simple things in life like the cabin, moose hunting, fishing, watching his fireplace with a cup of tea. Nothing could make Scott happier than storing away his winter fire wood with his partner and best friend Patsy. Scott loved his family and thought of his only brother as his best friend and they enjoyed many trips to get their fall moose together. Please remember Scott for the huge personality he possessed and the joy he brought to others. Leaving to mourn with precious memories his loving partner Patsy Noel; Sons Michael (Tammy) Peter; Daughters Christine (Joe), Susan (RJ); Step-Son Justin (Janelle) as well as 4 grandsons and one grand-daughter. He also leaves his Father Jack and mother Lillian; Brother Steven (Linda); Sisters Jacqueline (Walter) Patricia (Eric) as well as many nieces and nephews, along with the extended family of his partner Patsy, and a wide circle of friends and work associates. Visitation took place September 14th and 15th from Barrett's Funeral Home in Mount Pearl and then continued from Kerry M. Fillatre's Funeral Home in St. Anthony on September 18th and 19th from where the memorial service was held on September 19th, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Rev. John McGonigle officiating. Inurnment followed in the Goose Cove Protestant Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre's Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

HILLIER, John Wesley
Passed on: September 7th, 2017

John Wesley was born to Hedley and Pearl Hillier on January 15th, 1944 in Griquet, NL. He was one of 10 children. In 1965 he met and married Jessie Eileen Newman and together they had three children, Paul, Todd, and Nadine, whom they raised in their family home in St. Lunaire - Griquet. John and Jessie were blessed with seven grandchildren: Samantha, Jonathan, Carly, Zachary, Lindsey, Benjamin, and Brooklynn; and one great-grandson, Austin. John's passion was not only for his family but also his work and business. In the early years John worked on the boats with his father and also as a truck driver. In the mid 1970's he purchased a gas station and later built a garage. He continued by expanding into heavy equipment. John was a very quiet and gentle man who did his best to be a friend to everyone. He loved his family and church family. He will be missed by all that knew him. John passed away on September 7th, 2017 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 73 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his sons Paul (Sonya), Todd (Elaine); daughter Nadine (Michael); brothers Allan, Graham (Zonya), Lonny; sisters Louise, Dorothy (Bill), Ada (Ted), Vida (Winston) and Neta; grandchildren Jonathon, Zachary, Lindsey, Benjamin, Samantha, Carly, Brooklynn and great-grandchild Austin. He was predeceased by his wife Jessie; parents Hedley and Pearl Hillier; brothers Roland and Kaye Hillier; father-in-law Benjamin Newman and sister-in-law Cassie Hillier. Visitation was held from the Pentecostal Tabernacle in St. Lunaire Griquet from where the funeral took place on September 11th, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Pastor John Baker officiating. Interment followed. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard funeral director.

PATEY, Nelson Scott
Passed on: September 6th, 2017

Passed away at the White Bay Health Center on September 6th, 2017 at the age of 46 years. Nelson Scott Patey was born to Theresa Patey-Osbourne of Bide Arm on November 17th, 1970. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Jenetta; mother Theresa Osbourne and husband Eugene; brothers Brian and Kent; sisters Celie (Melvin) Wilcox, Velma (Alvin) Canning; uncles Raymond (Emily), Winston (Joan) and Scott (Phyllis) as well as a circle of extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Chesley and Alma Patey, and Uncle Edwin Patey. Visitation took place at the Calvary Pentecostal Temple in Roddickton from where the funeral service took place on Sunday, September 10th, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Norman Joy officiating. Interment followed in Clay Cove Community Cemetery in Bide Arm. Funeral arrangement entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard funeral director.

PLOUGHMAN, Marina Marie (nee Billard)
Passed on: September 24th, 2017

Our hearts are heavy as we announce the passing, at the age of 79, of our dear mother, sister, grandmother and great-mother, Marina Mary Ploughman (Billard) on August 24th, 2017 (two different dates as published). Predeceased by her husband Edward (Ted) Ploughman; parents, Elizabeth and Ernest, brothers Edmund, Roy, Cecil and Eugene and beloved sisters Laura, Jennie and Pauline Billard and grandchild Ann Marie O'Keefe. Leaving to mourn while celebrating the breath of her life are her cherished children Mario, Kim, Basil (Kim), Doreen and Jackie Ploughman (Rodney); grandchildren Rosemarie Wadman, Ashley Northcott, Meghan and Matthew Saunders and Morgan Warren; great grand-children Courtney and Cassie Wadman and Tristan Northcott, as well as her sisters Shirley (Bill), Evelyn (Leonard) Eileen, Myra, Judy (Dorman), Jeannie and Helena; her brothers Leon (Linda) and Gordon. Also grieving her death while blessed by her are a large circle of friends including Mildred and Walter Biggins, Francis and Hollis White and Paulette and Brenda Gould. Marina was born March 18, 1938 in Port au Choix where she lived her life while raising a family, contributing to the business and church community and touching lives with her kindness and generosity. She loved to share her meals and baked goods with a wide circle of family, friends and with any stranger who showed up at her doorsteps. Marina and Ted spent a good many quality years sharing in the cabin community behind Hawke's Bay, where many grateful family members and friends were welcome and fed at their cabin home. High Pond Country Inn was a gift to themselves and family members after working hard a life time to ensure their family was blessed. It was here, in a simple cabin in the woods, that the lives of Marina and Ted were graced with the greatest of earthly memories. The family received family and friends on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at St. Theresa's church in Port au Choix, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm, from where the funeral service took place on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at 11 am, with Father Rag officiating. The burial followed at the family plot of the Church cemetery in Sandy Cove, NL. Passed away Sunday, September 17th, 2017 at the age of 50 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his spouse Penny; daughter Laura and son Lorne; grandmother/mother Elizabeth Richards; father Ben Denney (Betty), 14 brothers and sisters (and their respective families); in-laws Gilbert and Mary Kinsella; cousins, especially Sabrina Whyatt as well as many more extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Evelyn Denney, nephew Tyrone Burden, grandfather/father John Richards, grandparents Elizabeth and Lorenzo Denney and sister- in-law Lois Johnson. Visitation was held from St. Paul's Anglican Church in St. Carols until the funeral on Friday, September 22, 2017 from St. Mary's Anglican Church in St. Anthony at 2:00 pm with Rev. Katie Flynn officiating. Interment followed at St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery in St. Carols. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard funeral director.

RICHARDS, Terry Brian
Passed on: September 18th, 2017

Passed away September 18th, 2017 in Cambridge Ontario at the age of 46 years. Brian was born to Freeman and Florence on March 7, 1971. He graduated high school in 1989. On September 18, 1995 Brian and his brother Herman moved to Ontario in search of work. He later returned to NL where he attended college in Stephenville. Shortly after college he returned to Ontario. Brian loved being around his friends and adored his family. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his parents Freeman and Florence; sister Roxanne (Kelsey); brothers Ivan (Sandy), Jason (Joyce) and Herman (Teraceta); nephews Marcus, Gregory, Riley, Donovan and Rodney; nieces Madison and Emma; aunts and uncles Willis (Shirley) Whyatt, Neine (Richard) Mitch¬elmore, Nina Hill, Ben Denney, Hedley (Faye) Richards, Harrison (Judy) Richards, Hubert (Barbara) Richards, Lester (Viona) Rich¬ards, Alma (Wayne) Burden, David (Jackie) Richards, Penny Kinsella, Ben (Neta) Richards, Patsy (David) Mugford, Leona (Richard) Richards, Scott (Debbie) Richards and Pam (Brad) Whitten. Brian was predeceased by grandfathers Benjamin Richards and John Richards, aunt Evelyn Denny, uncle Albert Hill, and relatives Glenn Richards, Jean Patey, Dana Richards and Tyrone Burden. Visitation began at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony and then continued at St. Paul's Anglican Church in St. Carol's from where the funeral was held on Sunday, September 24th, 2017 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Katie Flynn officiating. Interment followed in St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery in St. Carols. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard funeral director.
