BARNEY, Maxwell
Passed away on: 08/09/2010
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Maxwell Barney of L'Anse au Loup, NL. announce his passing at Labrador South Health Centre in Forteau on Sept. 8, 2010 at the age of 72 years. Leaving to mourn with fond memories Wesley (Jean), Louis (Julia), Calvin (Deb), Peter (Veronica), Freddy (Margaret), Terrance (Elsie), Amanda (Ricky),and daughter-in-law Iris; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brother Clarus and three sisters Amelia, Annie and Elizabeth, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Isabella, parents Solomon and Jane Barney, son Bruce and sister Myrtle. Visitation took place at the L'Anse au Loup Gospel Hall on Friday, and Saturday and Sunday from where the funeral service took place on Monday, Sept. 13, at 2 p.m. with Mr. Freddy Barney and Mr. Eric Fowler officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery in L'Anse au Loup. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, L'Anse au Loup.

BARNEY, Ross
Passed away on: 14/09/2010
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ross Barney of Catalina, NL. announce his passing at Labrador South Health Centre in Forteau on Sept. 14, 2010 at the age of 62 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories wife Shirley; son Ross Charles; daughter Kim (Jim Cuff), Terry, Sara, and Justin, and a large circle of the Barney and Hicks families, as well as other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents John Charles and Alma Barney, and brothers Cyril and Walter. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in L'Anse au Loup on Wednesday and Thursday from where the funeral took place on Friday, Sept. 17, at 3 p.m. with Rev. Gosse and Fr. Hann officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery in L'Anse au Loup. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, L'Anse au Loup. The family guest book may be signed by visiting our website at www.fillatre.ca

CHAMBERS, Algernon
Passed away peacefully at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on Sept. 25, 2010, Mr. Algernon Chambers of Blue Cove, in his 85th year. Left with a lifetime of memories are his children Mary (Gideon), Laura (Norman), Muriel (Rendell), and Dorothy (Isaac); his grandchildren Mandy, Elgin, Leslie, David, Susan, Troy, Tammy, Kimberley, George, and Brada, also his great-grandchildren Stacie, Shania, Nash, Rendell, Jordan, Nicholas, Jayme, Jaron, Tanner, Brody, Cruz, Daniel, Brendan, and Robbie. Algernon was predeceased by his wife Susan, son Noah, siblings, Norman, Isaac, Leslie, Jacob, Dorcas, Mary Anne, and Hilda. Visitation was held at the Church of the Advent in Plum Point from where the funeral service took place at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 27, with Rev. Kris Gosse and Lay Minister Matt Osborne officiating. The burial followed in the Anglican Cemetery on Darby's Island. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

FILLIER, Wilbourne F.
Passed away on: 01/09/2010
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Wilbourn Fillier of St. Anthony, NL. announce his passing on Sept. 1, 2010 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 58 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are wife Rosemary; daughters Cassandra (Ivan), and Heather (Trevor); parents Ross and Mary; sisters Audrey (Joe), Donna (Stan), Linda (Rayfield), and Gertie (Chris); grandchildren Madison and Donovan, and best friend Bear, as well as nine nephews and 11 nieces. He was predeceased by his brother Scott and sister Bonnie and great-grandmother Lavinia. Following cremation, family, friends and loved ones were received at the funeral home, from where the service was held on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010 with Major Janes officiating. Funeral arrangements where entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Levinia Fillatre, funeral director.

HOFFE, Grenfell Allister
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Grenfell Hoffe of Deer Lake announce his passing in the presence of his loving family on Monday, Sept. 27, 2010 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook in his 63rd year. He will be sadly missed by his best friend and wife Lillian (nee Rumbolt); number one dad to Todd (Trina) Hoffe, Debbie (Shawn) Pomeroy and Travis (Rachel) Hoffe; best poppy in the world to Melanie Hoffe, T.J. Hoffe, Ashley Pomeroy, Ethan Hoffe and Caleb Hoffe; cherished son of Beatrice Hoffe, and his brothers, and best buddies Herb (Ruth) Hoffe, and David (Joanne) Hoffe, also a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Frank Hoffe. Visitation took place on Wednesday at Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake. Funeral service took place on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Anglican Church with Canon Meade officiating. Interment followed at the family plot on Wights Road. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Diabetes Society in Grenfell's memory would be gratefully appreciated by the family. LAVERS, Dorothy Hilda

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dorothy Lavers of Port Saunders announce her passing on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 61 years. Leaving to mourn her husband Melvin, children Tammy (Darrell) Coombs, Scott (Wanda), and Melvin Jr. (Kristy-Lee) of Port Saunders; grandchildren Kaylie, Chelsea, Jordan, Jessica, Adrianne, Kimberly, Timothy, and Jayden; mother Mary Samson; sisters Vera, Eunice, Regina, and Effie; brothers Lloyd, James, Jerry, Morris, and Dion, and a circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father James Samson, grandson Vachon, and brother Philip. The family received friends at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Port Saunders on Monday and Tuesday from where the funeral service took place on Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 2 p.m. with Fr. Lee Lainey and Fr. Jim Robertson officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery in Sandy Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.

LODER, Gordon
Passed away on: 29/09/2010
Passed away at the White Bay Central Health Centre in Roddickton on Sept. 29, 2010, Mr. Gordon Loder of Roddickton in his 79th year. Gordon leaves to mourn his wife Ruby; sons Wade (Claudine), Robert (Patsy), and Francis (Hazel); daughters Linda and Sharon; sisters, Shirley (Cecil), Rita (Edgar), and Edith; brothers Herbert (Hilda), Fred (Verna), and Reg (Marjorie); five stepsons, and six stepdaughters. He was predeceased by his son Reg. Visitation was held at the funeral home in Roddickton, followed by the funeral service in the Calvary Pentecostal Temple at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3, with Pastor G. B. Pinksen and Pastor Craig Gaulton officiating. Burial took place in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

MITCHLEMORE, Douglas
Green Island Cove
Passed away peacefully at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on Sept. 14, 2010, Mr Douglas Mitchelmore of Green Island Cove in his 77th year. Douglas leaves with a lifetime of happy memories, his siblings Martha Jane Parrill, Violet White, and Lambert (Mami Ellen) Mitchelmore; sister-in-law Rhoda Mitchelmore, and special niece Brenda Way, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Douglas was predeceased by his parents William and Ruth Mitchelmore, brothers George, William, Sidney and Clyde Sr., his brothers-in-law Allan Parrill, and Hubert White and nephew Clyde Mitchelmore Jr. Visitation was held at St. Andrews Anglican Church in Lower Cove, from where the funeral took place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16, with Rev. Jean Brenton-Hickman and Lay Minister Maxine Hughes officiating. Burial followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Green Island Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M, Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

PARSONS, Annie M.
In loving memory of Annie Mabel Parsons (nee Pittman) of Parsond Pond at the age of 69 years. It is with profound sadness that the family announces her passing on Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 at the Health Sciences Complex, St. John's. She was the beloved wife of Benjamin Parsons; cherished mother of Paul Parsons of Parsons Pond, and Jennifer Parsons (Dwight Humphries) of St. John's; survived by her siblings Norman (Freda) Pittman of Bellburns, Gerald (Holly) Pittman of Toronto, Priscilla (Lawrence) Locke of Cincinnati Ohio, USA, Hubert Pittman of Bellburns, and Mrs. Eva Payne of Corner Brook. She is predeceased by her parents; William and Mabel Pittman, and brother John, sadly missed by nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and her feline buddies (Sammy and Timmy). The family received family and friends from the St. Peter's Anglican Church in Parsons Pond, on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday from where the funeral service took place on Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jean Brenton-Hickman officiating with the burial followed at the church cemetery in Parsons Pond. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake. Passed away peacefully at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Sept. 26, 2010, Mrs. Mae Patey of St. Anthony, in her 90th year. She leaves to mourn her son Bruce and his wife Magreta, and their children Bonnie Dickens, Jo-ann Mosher, Robert Burton and Lori Ferraina of Nova Scotia, as well as her son Ernest and wife Adlead of Hurricane, Utah, USA, and a large circle of friends. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond. There's a gift of life, you cannot buy that's very rare and true, that's the life of a wonderful mother, like the one we had in you. She will be dearly missed. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home followed by the funeral service which took place at the St. Anthony United Church at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29, with Rev. Stephanie McClellan officiating. Burial followed at the Fishing Point Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

PILGRIM, Margaret J.
Passed away on: 28/09/2010
Passed away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on Sept. 28, 2010, Mrs. Margaret Jean Pilgrim of St. Anthony, in her 72nd year. Margaret leaves with a lifetime of loving memories, her dear husband George of 51 years; her sister Maisie Morgans (Morgan); sisters-in-law Maisie Simms and Rita Saunders, as well as her brother-in-law Garland Simms and her special niece Pearl Colbourne, along with a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Margaret was predeceased by her parents Annie and Spurgeon Hussey, her two brothers William and Sydney, and her three sisters Mary Colbourne, Cecily Earle and Verna Simms. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home. The funeral service followed at the St. Anthony United Church at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 1 with Rev. Stephanie McClellan officiating. Burial took place at the Fishing Point United Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

PYE, Melissa Mary
Passed away on: 04/09/2010
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Melissa Pye of Red Bay, NL. announce her passing at Western Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook on Sept 4, 2010 at the age of 25 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are parents Freeman and Stella Pye; sister Pamela (Wade); grandmothers Nellie Yetman and Doris Pye, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her grandfathers Eff Yetman and Ira Pye. Visitors were received at the Our Lady Of Labrador Church in West St. Modeste on Monday and Tuesday from where the funeral service took place on Wednesday Sept 8, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Fr. Gagnon officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery in L'Anse au Loup. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, L'Anse au Loup.
