BUCKLE, Ruby
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ruby Buckle of Pinware, NL, announce her passing on Oct. 14, 2011 at the Palliative Care Unit in Forteau at the age of 56 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories husband Edward (JR); children Colleen (Rene), and Joshua; two grandchildren Brady and Mason; siblings Bill, Lucy (Peter), Mederick (Debbie), Edward, Elizabeth (Doug), Julia (Louis), Fred, Annette (Stan), Evelyn and Barry; in-laws Edward and Sylvia Buckle, Sheila, Leona, Debbie and Chad, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by son Colin, parents Edward and Caroline O'Dell (Butt), sister Dorothy Tracey. Visitors were received at Our Lady of Labrador Church in West St. Modeste on Saturday and Sunday from where the funeral service took place on Monday, Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. with Fr. Anthony Anh officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery in Pinware. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home in L'Anse au Loup.

CHUBBS, Naomi Priscilla
Passed away suddenly on Oct. 6, 2011, Mrs. Naomi Chubbs of St. Anthony, NL, in her 66th year. She leaves to mourn with a lifetime of memories children Sue Snow (Elmer); Kenneth Snow (Clara), Deon Snow (Tracey), Trent Chubbs (Tracy), and Kimberly Stone (Corey); grandchildren Stephanie Snow, Shannon Snow, Kalene Snow, Kendra Snow, Erika Eddison, and Shantia Eddison; great-grandchild Bella Snow; brothers Glen Snow (Cora); and Ned Simms (Vivian); sisters Annie Macey (Hubert), and Vashti Simmonds (Will Joe); sister-in-law Marjorie Snow; Aunt Annie Patey and a large circle of extended family and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband Eric Chubbs, parents Alfred and Margaret Snow, brother Stanley Snow, and parents-in-law Gordon and Una Chubbs. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home followed by the service which was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 10. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

ELLSWORTH, Patrick Stephen
Passed away peacefully at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on the Oct. 6, 2011 Mr. Patrick Stephen Ellsworth of Roddickton, NL, in his 100th year. Patrick leaves to mourn his wife of 75 years Clarisa; his sons Ronald (Hazel), Reginald (Candace), Myer (Denise), and Colin (Lorinda); his daughters Josephine, Sadie (Roy), Joan and Sheila; 25 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren, as well as his brothers George, Englee 104 years old, (Pastor) James, Mt. Pearl 102 years old and his sister Victoria, in Lewisporte, 94 years old. Visitation took place at the Calvary Pentecostal Temple in Roddickton, from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11 with Pastor G. B. Pinksen and Pastor C. Gaulton officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

FENNEMORE, John Wade JR. (Johnny)
It is with great sadness that the family of the late John (Johnny) Wade Fennemore Jr. of St. Anthony, NL, announce his sudden passing on Oct. 2, 2011 at his private residence in Halifax, Nova Scotia at the age of 53 years. Leaving to mourn are his daughters Vanessa Fennemore (Feff Friedrich) and Melissa Fennemore (Jonathan Ajtay); sister Janis Fennemore (Tom Cowan); brother Baxter Fennemore (Gloria Man); Shannon Jefferson (niece); Steve Jefferson (nephew); Aiden Jefferson (great-nephew), Leah Jefferson (great-niece); stepmother Harriet Fennemore and his stepsisters Alvina Kelly, Marian Gaulton, Vanessa Kelly, Denise Haunda, and Noreen O'Neil. Visitation took place at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home on Oct. 12, followed by the funeral service at St. Anthony United Church on Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Stephanie McClellan officiating. Burial was held immediately following the service at the Fishing Point United Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickon, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

HARVEY, Evelyn
Passed away peacefully at Western Memorial Regional Health Centre, Corner Brook, Mrs. Evelyn Harvey of Plum Point, NL, in her 82nd year. She will always be remembered by her sisters Rachel (late Isaac), Jesse, George, Wally and family, Jessie, Don, Minnie, Nellie, Patty and family; her brother George (Virge); her sisters-in-law Muriel (Les, David, Susan) (late Rendell), Jessie (late Henry), Rachel, Ivy, Evelyn, Gord, Stan, and Karen; brother-in-law Wallace (Tom, Bill, Evelyn) and families, her nieces Eileen, and Marilyn and her nephew Leo. She was predeceased by her husband Les, her brothers Rendell, Henry, and Gordon, her sister Eliza, her father George, and mother Nellie, her brother-in-law Garfield, mother-in-law Annie and father-in-law Joe. Visitation was held at the Church of the Advent in Plum Point from where the funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22 with Rev. Harold Harvey and layperson Matt Osborne officiating. Burial followed the service in the Anglican Cemetery at Pond Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

HILLIER, Scott
Passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Oct. 26, 2011 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, Mr. Scott Hillier of St. Lunaire-Griquet, NL, in his 55th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his two daughters Alysha and Ally; Judy (mother of children); his partner Lorna; parents Allan and Cassie Hillier; brothers and sisters Bob (Lesley), Lawrence (Audrey), Yvonne (George), Joann (Gene), Glen (Shelly), Gary (Della) and Jennifer (Dean), also a large number of nieces and nephews and many, many friends. Visitation was held at Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in St. Lunaire-Griquet from which the funeral service took place on Saturday, Oct. 29. followed by cremation. Burial took place on Wednesday, Nov. 2. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

McLEAN, Rendell
Born: September 11th, 1934
Passed on: October 10th, 2001
Passed away peacefully at his home in Green Island Cove on Oct. 10, 2011, Rendell McLean in his 77th year. He leaves to mourn with loving memories his wife Caroline; children Clyde (Kim), Woodley (Darlene), Rennie, and Jim (Kendra); grandchildren Gillian, Tyler, TJ, Travis, Tye and Zoey; brother Ross (Barbara); sister-in-law Nora; special friend Winston Mitchelmore and a wide circle of family and friends. Ren was predeceased by his brother Les, parents Christopher and Susan and his sister Maggie. Visitation took place at St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Lower Cove followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12. Interment followed in the church cemetery in Green Island Cove.

McNEILL, Melvin H.
Born Sept. 4, 1930 to Edgar (Ted) and Beatrice McNeill. Melvin passed away on Oct. 9, 2011 at the John M. Gray Centre, St. Anthony. Melvin was predeceased by half brothers Horace, Kenneth and Donald. He leaves behind his sister Dorothy, niece Lois (Kentucky), nephews Hector (Ontario), and Curtis (Nova Scotia), as well as many cousins and his beloved cat Moli. Following cremation a memorial service was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony with Rev. Stephanie McClellan officiating. Interment in Fishing Point United Cemetery will follow at a later date. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

PATEY, Stella
Passed away peacefully on Oct. 20, 2011 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital, St. Anthony, Stella Patey of St. Anthony, NL, in her 91st year. Stella leave with fond and loving memories her daughters Greta Stephenson (John), and Cynthia Simms (David); son Milton; grandchildren Craig (Cecelia), Wendy (Roger), Cheryl (Peter), Jason (Catherine), Paul, Tammy (Darren), and Trina; nine great-grandchildren, as well as his sisters Leah, and Greta; brother Clyde; special nephew Leighton (Bernice); sisters-in-law Mae, Vida and Phyllis and her friends at Shirley's Haven. Stella was predeceased by her parents Richard and Beulah Patey and her brother Vaze. Visitation took place at the funeral home in St. Anthony followed by the funeral service at the Salvation Army church at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23, with Majors Dinzel and Kathleen Baggs officiating. Burial followed the service in the St. Anthony Salvation Army Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

PILGRIM, Rebecca Evangeline (Saunders)
Rebecca was born on April 20, 1928 in Cook's Harbour to George and Dinah (Allingham) Saunders. She was the second youngest of six sisters. At the age of eight her mother died. She left Cook's Harbour to live in St. Anthony Bight with her Aunt and Uncle Harrison and Annie Simms. Rebecca (Beckie as she was known to all) spent the rest of her life in St. Anthony Bight. In 1945, she married William Pilgrim and together they raised their 15 children. She was a hard working woman whose hands were rarely idle. She was a devoted and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was known by hundreds of people and had friends coast to coast and in the United States. On Monday evening she left this world to continue her journey with God. Rebecca leaves a large family, but she leaves a larger space in the hearts and lives of her family and all of those who knew and loved her. She leaves to remember and mourn, her children Ruby (John), Hilda (Dorman), Flo (Garry), Alonzo (Patsy), Harold (Gail), Baxter (Gertie), Bruce (Loretta), Terry, Randy (Mary), Ruth (Terry), Ivy (Cal), Jim (Denise), Lillian (Norman), Trevor (Jennifer), and Mike Jackman; 32 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters Bessie, Keziah (Fred), and Dorcas as well as half-brothers Fred (Elsie), San (Eliza), Roy (Priscilla), Melvin (Carol), and Edgar (Sheila); half-sisters Joyce (Ken) and Velma (Morris); and special cousins she was raised with, Dulcie Cull and Ivy Pilgrim and a multitude of other friends and relatives. She was predeceased by her husband William, daughter Madeline, granddaughter Beckie-Ann, sisters Helen and Vera, and half-brother Havner Saunders. She will be sadly missed. Visitation was held at the United Church in St. Anthony Bight from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28 with Rev. Stephanie McClellan officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

REARDON, Kimberly
Kimberly Reardon (June 21, 1969 - Oct. 19, 2011)
of Goose Cove, NL, passed peacefully away after a lengthy illness on Oct. 19 at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's in the presence of her family and friends at the age of 42 years. She leaves to mourn her daughter Sandra; her lifelong companion Wallace; parents Martin and Frances; brother Perry (Renita); sister Jackie (Brian); two nieces Emma Renee and Rhyen Kimberly, all of her aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends whom she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her Nan and Pop Troy, Bride and Leo, Nan and Pops Reardon, Rita, Joe and Jack, and Uncle Joe Troy. Visitation took place at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home followed by the funeral service that took place at the Roman Catholic Church in Goose Cove at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 24. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony.

TOBIN, Martin
Passed into peace after a long battle with cancer at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Oct. 20, 2011, Mr. Martin Tobin, of Roddickton, NL, in his 78th year. Martin leaves with loving memories his wife Ellen; his daughters Jackie (Darren), Patricia (Tom), Mary (Paul), and Marg (Jerome); his son Gerard (Debbie), and grandson Myles, as well as 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, his sisters Gwen, Veronica and Laura (Shannon) and his brother Albert. Visitation took place at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Roddickton, from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24, with Fr. Devas Vargees officiating. Burial followed the service in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
