Passed away at Charles Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Oct. 26, 2010, Jesse Herbert Bushey of Roddickton in his 83rd year. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 64 years Effie Julia Bushey; daughters Marie (Oliver) Reid, Dorothy (David), Cassell, Wanetta (Eddie) Reid, and Sheila (Graham) Adams; all of Roddickton; son Wilson (Audrey) Bushey, Roddickton; sisters Nellie Canning, Goose Bay, Laura Keller, Minnesota, United States, Margaret Brown, Lewisporte, and Dora (Don) Noble, Lewisporte; brothers Eli (Evelyn) Bushey, Browns Arm, and Orlando (Isabella) Bushey, Lewisporte; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Visitation took place at the Apostolic Faith Church in Roddickton from where the funeral service took place on Thursday, Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. with Rev, Rene S. Cassell officiating. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Clifford Caines announce his passing on Saturday, Oct. 2, at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook at the age of 60 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Sybil; daughter Jody (Vinc) Perry; grandchildren Jeremy and Jessica; sisters Josephine (Aloysius) Caines, Theresa (Raphael) Mahar, Geraldine (Eli) Rogers, Maggie (Jim) Doyle and Floria (Jerry) Murphy; brothers Moses (Iona), Jim (Clarice), Prim (Augusteen), Vic (Marina) and Joe (Alice); mother-in-law Von Plowman; sisters-in-law Sis, Mary, Louise and Wanda; brothers-in-law Harrison, Junior, Tony, Frank, Todd and John; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Moses and Mary Alice, sister Eudora, brother-in-law Raphael, father-in-law Francis Plowman and nephew Jeremy Caines. The family received friends at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, Port au Choix on Sunday at 4 p.m. and Monday from where the funeral service took place on Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. with Fr. Passed away suddenly at the Straits of Belle Isle Health Centre in Flowers Cove on Oct. 7, 2010, Mrs. Una Crane, of Pines Cove in her 64th year. Left to mourn with heavy hearts and loving memories are Una's husband Rendell; her children Roxanne (Edgar) and Dion (Colleen); her grandchildren Makayla, Cindy, Cody and Rendell, as well as her brothers and sisters Gladys, Isaac Henry (Hazareth), Evelyn (Everton), Howard (Jessie), Olga (Earnest), and Wilson, and a large circle of extended family and friends. Una was predeceased by her parents George and Amelia, her sisters Hazel White, Rosie White and Mary Jane Stevens, her brothers-in-law Gordon White and Abraham Dredge. Visitation was held at St. Andrews Anglican Church in Lower Cove from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 11, with Rev. DYSON, Irving
Passed away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Oct. 10, 2010, after a long struggle with illness, Mr. Irving Dyson, of Goose Bay, formerly of Cartwright, in his 63rd year. Irving leaves with a lifetime of memories his children Marcus William (Lori-Anne), Elizabeth Ann Moss (Colin), Nellie Green (Dallas Pardy) and Olive Williams; his siblings Donald Dyson (Theresa), and Mary Jane Dyson (Ronald Lethbridge), as well as Helen Dyson (former wife), and a large extended family and many dear friends. Irving was predeceased by his siblings Calvin Dyson (Lavenia Dyson-Burkhart), Joshua Dyson, Herman Dyson and his Grandson Leon Dyson. Visitation was held at the funeral home, the funeral took place at St. Mary's Anglican Church in St. Anthony on Friday, Oct. 15 with Rev. Ralph Moore and Lay Minister Robert Mesher officiating. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dorothy Fowler of Capstan Island announce her passing at Labrador South Health Centre in Forteau with her family at her side on Oct. 26, 2010 at the age of 60 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Harvey; children Brian Lowe (Francine), Joy Fowler Pike (Delbert), and Blair (Suzy); grandchildren Kristen, Peter, Adam, Brandon, Sarah and Heather; sister Alice Lowe; brothers William (Margaret), Martin (Samantha), and special friend Veronica Bolger, as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Peter and Mary Lowe and brother John. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Capstan Island on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from where the funeral service took place on Saturday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Norman Cutler officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery in L'Anse au Diable. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Passed away on Oct. 8, 2010, at the Central NL Regional Health Care Centre, after almost a three year battle with cancer, Vera Murrin, of Grand Falls-Windsor. She was 58 years of age. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Una Power; brother, Frank; sisters, Sharon and Valerie. Left to mourn her passing are husband, Felix Murrin; sons, Mark (Dana), Jonathan, Andrew, Sean; special grandson, Bryce Alexander. Also leaving to mourn are sisters, Shirley (Nelson) Hunter, Theona (Derek) Cater, Patricia Mills, Joanne (Peter) Gendron, Diane Sheppard (Art Masney), Carolann (Peter) Curran, Colleen (Tim) Hynes, Beverly (Terry) Dearing; brothers, Donald Power, Walter Power and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Kevin Barker conducted the Funeral mass at St. Joseph's Parish, Grand Falls-Windsor on Monday, Oct. 11, 2010 at 10 a.m.. Interment took place at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Oct. 18, 2010, Mr. Alfred Pittman of Blue Cove in his 89th year. Alfred leaves to mourn his daughter Myrtle Genge (Clyde) and brother-in-law James (Maude). He is reunited in death with his wife Susan, daughter Jane, brother Abraham (Mary Ann), sister Elizabeth (Wallace Sr.), his parents Primus and Jane Pittman, mother and father-in-law Lillian and Elgin Chambers, and brother-in-law Steve Gibbons (Myrtle). Visitation was held at The Church of the Advent in Plum Point, from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 20 with the Rev. SIMMS, George Agustus
Entered into rest on Oct. 23, 2010 at the White Bay Central Health Centre, Roddickton after a lengthy illness, George Augustus Simms of Main Brook, age 73 years. George served the community as previous mayor of Main Brook, was a teacher at Main Brook School, served the Canadian Forces as a member of the Canadian Rangers, held a position of Board of Directors of the Grenfell Mission and was the postmaster of Main Brook Post Office for 31 years. He is predeceased by parents Alfred and Mary Simms, sister Charlotte (Randy), and brother Leighton. Left with fond memories his wife of 52 years, Violet, son Larry (Louisa); daughter Lois (William); son Lorne (Julie); grandchildren Andrea, Karen, Michelle, Alexander, Jessica, Meghan, and Malissa; sister Inga (Robert); and brother William (Marie). The funeral service was held at Bethel Pentecostal Church, Main Brook on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. Interment followed at the Pentecostal Cemetery in Main Brook.
