Leslie Stephen Chubbs
died unexpectedly at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's on Oct. 7, 2009 at the age of 54 years. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Rowena; sons Quentin; his wife Sherry and their daughter Emerson and son Nathan, Nicholas and daughter Carla; parents Leslie and Muriel; sisters Dulcie Carpenter (Lanny), Sheila Chubbs; brothers Barry (Claudette), Rodney (Mary), Kevin (Yvonne), and Everett (Mary); father and mother-in-law Hayward and Alice Normore; sisters-in-law Beryl Barney (Norman), Audrey Ryland (Clifford), Celestine Earle, Deborah Barney (Calvin), and Michelle Ryland (Leon); brother-in-law Elvin Normore (Jackie) and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation took place at St. Paul's Anglican Church in L'Anse au Loup from where the service will take place. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, L'Anse au Clair.

BILES, MORRIS GEORGE
St. Anthony

Passed peacefully away surrounded by his family, at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on Oct. 11, 2009. Morris Biles, age 78 years. Morris is survived by his wife Laura; children Donna (Richmond), Kevin (Claire), Tony (Kim), Dale (Bram), Sheila (Bruce) and Rick (Gina); grandchildren Stephanie, Joanne, Nancy, Michelle, Jonathan, Lucas, Jennifer, Jillian, Zachary, Nathan, and Steven; great-granddaughter Bridget. Visitation took place at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home St. Anthony. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13 at the United Church in St. Anthony with Rev. McGonigle officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

PYNN, DULCIE
Raleigh

Passed away at the John M. Gray Centre on Oct. 11, 2009, Dulcie Pynn age 68 years. Leaving to mourn her husband Gayden, children Yvonne (Sid), Louise (George), Gwen (Gaden), Gayden Junior (Mona), and Jamie (Sheree); grandchildren Ashley, Vanessa, Travis, Laura, Shane, Jennifer, Gavin, Tyler, Jeremy, Lasaya and Brooklyn; great-grandchildren Brady, Marissa and Delcie Joy; sisters Mabel, Nina, Marjorie, Millicent and June; brothers Garland, Gus, Lloyd, Wesley, Alanzo and Dennis. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Raleigh from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14, with Rev. Graham officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

TAYLOR, ESSIE LOUISE
St. Anthony Bight

Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on Oct. 12, 2009, Jessie Louise Taylor, age 85 years. Leaving to mourn Mae and Eric, Willis and Leah, Gaye and Rodney, Irene and Willis, Wayne and Clara, Rex and Jose, Boyce, Dale and Tommy; 25 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister Bessie Evans; brother Ronald Pilgrim (Harriet); and sister-in-law Ethel Pilgrim. She is predeceased by husband Thomas, daughter Lydia, parents Wilson and Florence Pilgrim, brothers Tobias, Jonathan, and Garfield, and sister Gertrude. Visitation took place at the Salvation Army Church in St. Anthony from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14, with Major Janes officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

BEST, NORMAN CHARLES
St. Anthony

Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on Oct. 17, 2009, Norman Best, age 82 years. Leaving to mourn his wife Margaret; sons Keith (Hilda), Kevin (Shirley), Elmore (Sharon) and Dwayne (Daphne); grandchildren Sheryl, Kevin, Beverly, Brenda, Nikki, Curtis, Candace and one great-grandchild Parker; sister Frances (Lewis) and brother Bud (Patricia); sisters-in-law Evangeline, Beatrice, Violet, and Linda; brothers-in-law John and Ross, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his father Edgar (1976), mother Gertrude (1992), and brother Robert (1974). Visitation took place at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday Oct. 20 at the United Church in St. Anthony, with Rev. McGonigle officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

GOULD SR., EDMUND
Bird Cove

Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on Oct. 20, 2009, Edmund Gould Sr. age 79 years. Leaving to mourn daughters Irene (Mike), Selina (Ben), Theresa (Eugene), Florence (Ron), and Verna (Tom); sons Edmund Jr., Wilson (Bernetta), Clement (Theresa), and Nicholas; daughter-in-law Melissa (Ross); 21 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother Maxwell (Theresa); sisters Mary (Victor), Irene (Prim), and Annie; sisters-in-law Melina and Geraldine. He is predeceased by his wife Florence, son Lewis, parents Tom and Lily, brothers Pius, Simon and Tom, brother-in-law James Henry and special friends. Visitation was held at Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church in Bird Cove, from where the funeral mass was held at 11a.m. on Friday Oct. 23, with Fr. Roger Poblete officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

ALLINGHAM, KEITH
Cook's Harbour

Passed peacefully away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on Oct. 23, 2009, Keith Allingham, age 40 years. Left with fond and loving memories are his sons Braden and Keegan; daughter Laura; parents Basil and Irene; brothers Pleman (Darlene), Don (Sandra), and Ron (Gaylene); sisters Dale (Larry), Cavell (Ross), and Corrine (Nelson); grandmother Daphne Noble; seven nieces, five nephews, very special and best friend Keith Elliott, and Diane; mother and father-in-law Ian and Hilda Stone; sister-in-law Eleanor (Clavin) and family, brothers-in- law Ashley (Lynn) and family, and Colin (Dana) and family, and a large number of family and friends, great-nieces and nephews. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Cook's Harbour from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday Oct. 26 with Rev. Bruce Graham officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton. Lee Nippard funeral director.

NOEL, Theresa (nee Davis)
Port au Choix

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Theresa Noel announce her passing on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 59 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her son Verdun; mother Mary Bridgett; sisters Genevieve (Cyril), Matchem of Milltown, and Geraldine (Lorrie) Rumbolt of Port au Choix; brothers Anthony (Diane) Davis of St. Albans, Fabian Davis of Raleigh, North Carolina; mother-in-law Ella Noel; sisters-in-law Patrica (Gregory) O'Keefe, and Helena (Iram) Moores; brothers-in-law Maurice Noel, and Roderick JR Noel of Port au Choix; sister-in-law Reba Noel (David) of Vancouver, British Columbia; brother-in-law Brian (Charlie) of Maple Ridge, British Columbia; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband William (Bill), father Cecil, brothers Edmund and Walter; sisters Adelia, Matilda and Imelda; father-in-law Roderick; and brother-in-law Loman. The family received friends at Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. and Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service took place on Tuesday at 11 a.m. from St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery in Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to the Heart and Lung Assocation. It is with great sadness the family of the late Rosie Parrill (Feb. 3, 1939 - Oct. 24, 2009) announce her passing at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, age 70 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories her husband John, children Vira (Jimmy), Toby (Tammy), and Olga (Lawrence); grandchildren Katie, Jackie, Ian, Reiley, Cassie, and Tisa, great-grandchildren Kennedy, Wyatt and Nathan; special nephew Perry (Sonia); six brothers; five sisters, as well as a large number of other family and friends. She was predeceased by parents Henry and Isabella Hughes. Visitation was held at St. Andrew's Church, Lower Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27 with Rev. Diane Smith officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Eddies Cove East.

It is with great sadness the family of the late Stanley Genneaux announce his passing on Sunday Oct. 25, 2009 at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's at the age of 72 years. Leaving to mourn wife Jenny Hinks; children Rene (Darlene), Neil (Roxanne), and Maureen; son-in-law Tryone; grandchildren Cory (Lisa), Barry Holloway, Gregory Chapella, Andy Chafe, Ian, Tiara, Nathan Genneaux, and Tyler Lavers; great-grandchildren Kylian Holloway, and Caden Chapella; step-children Shirley Porter, Judy Lavallee, Cathy Perry, Mary, Arthur, Camillus, Francisco, Walter, Lucia Hinks, and Jacinta Diamond; brothers Edgar, Patrick, Frank, Vincent, Norbett Genneaux, and Ben Lavers; sisters Julie Kennedy, Agnes Gaslard, Gertrude Eastman and a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his first wife Shirley, daughter Mary, brother Charles, sisters Susan and Theresa. The family received friends at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Port Saunders on Monday and Tuesday from where the funeral services took place on Wednesday Oct. 28 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Lee Lainey officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery in Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Susan Kelly announce her passing on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 54 years. She leaves to mourn daughters Josalee (Trent) Flynn of Corner Brook, Lorna (Keon) Genneaux of Port Saunders, Andy (Crystal) of Devon, Alberta; grandchildren Tori, Victoria, Kelsey, Tristen and Owen; mother Nellie Plowman of Bartlett's Harbour, sisters Juanita (Gerard) Bromley of Port au Choix, Margaret (Tom) Barrett of Fort Saskatchewan; Shirley (Glen) Payne of Daniel's Harbour, Glenda (Roy) Myers of Bartlett's Harbour and Lila Plowman of Shoal Cove; brothers Angus (Mona) of Devon, Alberta, Jeff (Lisa) Corner Brook, Maurice (Tammy) of Lamont, Alberta, and Eugene (Denise) of Daniel's Harbour, as will as a large circle of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Michael, father Eugene Plowman, parents-in-law Millicent and Owen Kelly, sister-in-law Hilda Hynes. Passed away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on Oct. 28, 2009, Douglas M. Earle in his 75th year. Douglas leaves to mourn his wife Velma; five children Roy (Roxie), Ray (Tina), Eileen (Wade), Roger (Doreen), and Morris (Patsy); nine grandchildren Jennifer (Herb), Ryan, Andy, Janesta (Gary), Chad, Rhea (Damian), Jackalee, Jillian and Katie; four great-grandchildren Hailey, Joshua, Marcus, and Rebecca. Visitation took place at the Pentecostal Church in Griquet, from which the funeral was took place at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31, with Pastor Primmer officiating. Interment followed at the Pentecostal Cemetery in Griquet. Funeral arangments where entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hannah Una Burden Oct. 27, 1925 -Oct. 31, 2009 announce her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, on Saturday Oct. 31, 2009 in her 84th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her children James Ida), of Birchy Head, Nancy (Ralph Parsons) of Woody Point, Woodrow (Marie) of St. Anthony, Jerry (Ina) of Shoal Brook, Thelma (David Hoyles) of Big Bonne Bay Pond, and Bobby (Marlene) of Pasadena; her 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; her siblings Mrs. Thelma Caines of Deer Lake, Mrs. Beulah Parsons of Birchy Head, Lorraine (Mrs. Fred Parsons) of Glenburnie; step-siblings Guy, (Caroline) Bishop, Reg (Rowella) Bishop, Sadie (Mrs. Kevin McIssac), and Mrs. Beatrice Frances, sisters-in-law Mrs. Dorcas Goosney and Mrs. Rosie Goosney, both of Birchy Head, and her brother-in-law, Russell Anderson of Birchy Head. She was predeceased by her husband Chesley Burden, her parents, James and Edith Goosney, her step-father John Bishop, her son Levi Burden, brothers Garland and Robert Goosney, sister Jessie Anderson, granddaughter Daphne Parsons, great-granddaughter Patience Burden, brother-in-law Hubert Caines and Henley Parsons, also leaving to mourn a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, family and friends. The family received family and friends at the United Church in Shoal Brook on Monday, Nov. 2. and Tuesday, Nov. 3, from where the funeral took place on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Clayton Parsons officiating. The burial followed at the church cemetery in Shoal Brook. The funeral arrangements were under the direction of Parsons Funeral Home and Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake.
