Sandy Cove

Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Oct. 4, 2008. Elijah White of Sandy Cove, age 79 years. Leaving to mourn son Calvin (Maryanne); special grandson David (Tracey); daughters Melvina (Fred), Shirley (Chris), and Winnie (Tony); grandchildren Shane (Cheryl), Cheyanne (Mervin), Charmaine (Corey), Sonya (Rod), Candace (Jamie), and Jermy; great-grandchildren Mitchell, Zachery, Logan, Peyton, Brayden, Dustin, and Davin; brother Nelson (Margaret), sister-in-law Dulcie; cousin and close friend George Will White, and close family friends Gideon and Maria White and Arch and Hazareth Coles. He was predeceased by wife Ina, father John, mother Selina, brothers Wilfred and Lambert, sisters Evelyn, Virtue and Melvina. Visitation was held at the Anglican Church in Sandy Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 5, with Rev. Diane Smith officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Pines Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton.

PILGRIM, AMBRROSE
St. Lunaire-Griquet

Passed away at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on Oct. 7, 2008. Ambrose Pilgrim age 96 years. Leaving to mourn son Scott (Nellie); daughter Blanche (Elliott); brother Ralph (Rosalind); sister Minnie Hillier; grandchildren Melody, Kris, Hope, Michele, Telva, and Tom; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, Uncle Ambrose is predeceased by his wife Agnes, brothers Jim and Leonard, and sisters Winnie and Gladys. He will be sadly missed by a large circle of family and friends. Visitation was held at the Pentecostal Church in St. Lunaire-Griquet from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Oct. 10, 2008 with Pastor Primmer officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard funeral director.

RANDELL, SAMUEL
Roddicktion

Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Oct. 10, 2008. Samuel Randell age 80 years. Leaving to mourn wife Amy (Blanchard); daughter Ruby (Jacob Dredge); sons Matthew and Leslie, and grandsons Tyson (Josephine) and Trevor (Christa), as well as his brother Norman (Matilda) and sister Edith (John Newman); sisters-in-law Virtue Randell and Marguerite Randell, and a number of other relatives and friends. He will be sadly missed. Visitation took place at the United Church in Roddickton from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 13 with Rev. McGonigle officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard funeral director.

WAY, DORA EMILY
Savage Cove

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dora Way announces her passing on Friday Oct. 10, 2008 at John M. Grey Centre in St. Anthony at the age of 81 years. Leaving to mourn her children Lige (Emma), Savage Cove, Lucy Myers, Devon, Alberta, Wavie (Earle) Way, Jane Way, Savage Cove, Melvin (Emily), Bomanville Ontario, Glen Vira, Devon, Alberta, John (Flora), Fort McMurray, Watson (Rosalyn), Branford Ontario, Donna (Sam) Applin, Bomanville, Ontario, and George Elaine Pilgrim, Stephenville; 17 grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren; sisters-in-law Eliza Hodge, Helen Hodge, and Hazel Way, brother-in-law Frank Simms and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Elijah, parents George and Mary Hodge, sons-in-law Clarence Myers, and Bruce Way, brothers Clarence, Porter, Harry, Philip, John, William Hodge, sisters Cicely Pilgrim, Beatrice Stevens, Betty Stevens, Sarah Fanny Norman, Kiziah Gaulton, and Caroline Humber. The family received friends at St. Mark’s Anglican Church on Saturday and Sunday from where Funeral Service took place on Monday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Canon Jean Brenton Hickman officiating Interment followed at the Anglican cemetery Savage Cove. As expressions of sympathy flowers were graciously accepted, funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home Port au Choix.

DENNEY, ELIZABETH
Englee

Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on Oct. 11, 2008, Elizabeth Denney, age 84 years. Leaving to mourn sons Ray kitchener Ontario, and Ben (Betty) Englee, Douglas Fort McMurray Alberta, Enos of White Court Alberta, Fred (Judy) Fort McMurray, Wade Fort McMurray, Austin (Rosclyn ) of St. Johns, Daughters Anna (Randolph) Randell of Englee, Christina (Junior) Rowsell of St. Johns, Dorothy Gillard of Medicine Hat Alberta, Sandra (Lawrence) MacDonald of St.Johns, Millicent (Robert) Lane of Roddickton; 33 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, former in-laws Mary MaCloud Denneyof Barrie, Mable Barrett Denney Barrie, Scott Gillard, Dartmouth, Ivy Lavers Denney, Fort McMurray, Ann Moss Denney,Fort McMurray, plus many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Lorenzo Denney. Visitation was held at the Apostolic Faith Church in Englee, from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday Oct. 15, with Pastor Randell officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

WOODWARD, VERA
Brooks, Alberta

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Vera Woodward announce her passing at her family residence in Brooks, Alberta on Wednesday Oct. 15, 2008 at the age of 76 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, husband Garfield Woodward; children Annie Green (Seymore), Leonard Woodward (Cynthia), Helen White (Bruce), Tony Woodward, Susan Gaudon (Aaron), Garfield Woodward (Colette) Loretta White (Bruce) and Glen Woodward (Carla); grandchildren Trina Coles, Brian Green, Ricky Green, Jason Woodward, Andy Woodward, Jodi Woodward, Justin White, Scott White, David White, Riley Woodford, Blane Gaudon, Brent Gaudon, Shana White, Hanna Woodward and Holly Woodward; great-grandchildren Brady Coles and Jena Coles; brothers and sisters Virginia Bursey (Fred), Stewart Laing, (Grace), Evangeline Best (Roy), Tamsey Laing, Hazel Brown (Henry), as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her mother Louise Jane Laing, brothers Walter Laing, Curling Laing, Leonard Woodward Elderd Woodward, John Woodward, Elijah Woodward, Noah Woodward, and Stewart Woodward, sisters Jessie Campbell and Virginia Johnson. Friends visited St. Mark’s Anglican Church in Boat Harbour on Monday from where the funeral service took place on Tuesday October 21, at 3:30 p.m.. Interment followed at the Anglican Church Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling St., Corner Brook. YETMAN, WINNIFRED
Red Bay
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Winnie Yetman announce her passing at the Captain William Jackmen Memorial Hospital in Labrador City on Oct. 20, 2008 at the age of 89 years. Leaving to mourn with Loving memories children Algernon, Gladys, Leonard (Gladys), Sylvia Belben (Eli), Tena Normore (Eldred), Maisie Pike (Ross) and Dennis (Monica),sister Ethel Jarvis,18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, as well a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Enos Yetman and parents Ernest and Laura Trimm. Visitors were received at the Red Bay Gospel Hall on Monday and Tuesday from where the funeral service took place on Wednesday Oct. 22, at 2 p.m. with Mr. Francis Barney and Mr. Jim Jarvis officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery in Red Bay. As expressions of sympathy were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, L’Anse au Loup.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Kirk Dumaresque announce his passing at the Health Science Centre in St. John’s on Oct. 29, 2008 at the age of 37 year. Leaving to mourn with loving memories wife Corina; son Jacob; parents John and Audrey; brother Dion, (Valerie and niece Katie); sister Sheena (Jeff); grandmother Lilly Dumaresque; father and mother-in-law Lester and Maisie Davis; sister-in-law Cynthia Hynes (Peter and niece Katelin); aunts and uncles, Melvin,Reg, Joan, Mabel, Sandra, Jean and their families, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Christopher. Visitors were received at the Forteau Anglican Church on Thursday and Friday from where the funeral service took place on Saturday Nov. 1, 2008 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Marlaine Leggo officiating, assisted by Rev. Norman Cutler, layreader Dean Flynn and Rt. Rev. L. Whitten. Interment followed in the church cemetery in Forteau. As expressions of sympathy flowers were graciously accepted or donations can be made to the Janeway Health Centre in St. John’s. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, L’Anse au Loup.

Sean Ernest Kent Budden
of Straum Fjord, Newfoundland, passed away peacefully at Leonard Miller Centre after a courageous battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his mother Marie. Leaving to mourn father Cranley; brothers Owen (Sandra), and Ivan (Anita); sisters Sonja, Kelly (Darren); nieces Kendra, Anita, Rebekah, Heather, Talitha, Kristen, Jessica; nephew Ryan; special friends Sandra Sheppard and Jean Smith as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Service was held at Sop’s Arm Main River Academy on Saturday, Nov 1, at 2 p.m. Viewing and family visitation was held on Thursday, 2 p.m. and Friday at Bethel United Church. COLBOURNE, ALVIN CLARENCE 'ROSS'

In loving memory of Alvin Clarence “Ross Colbourne, age 53 years, who passed away Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, beloved son of Richard and Della Colbourne (both predeceased); loving brother of Boyce (wife Nina) of Chelmsford, Clyde (wife Joy) of Jeddore , Addie (wife Anna), Don (wife Maryann), Kevin (wife Kim) and Rex (wife Ellen), all of Thompson Manitoba. He is predeceased by Carl and Barry. He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury, Ontario on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
