It is with great sadness that the family of the late Johanna Gould announces her passing on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006 at Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton at the age of 42 years. She leaves to mourn her husband Robert Gaulton; her two sons Garfield (Chrissy Anderson) Gould and Robert (Angela) Gaulton Gould; parents Garfield and Aurelia; brother Ross (June Offrey); sister Linda (Fred) Sinnicks; sister-in-law Clare (Peter) Gaulton; grandson Dakota Anderson; nephews D.J. Sinnicks and Dylan Gaulton; niece Jennette Offrey, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. The family received friends at St. Boniface Anglican Church in Bear Cove on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from where the funeral service was held on Thursday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Steven Maki officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix/Bear Cove. BOYD, William Albert
St. Anthony

Passed away on Oct. 3, 2006, Albert Boyd, age 82 years. Leaving with a lifetime of memories son Barry (Jeanette); grandson Keith; brothers Arthur and Wilfred (Elizabeth); sister Flo Dean; brothers-in-law Max Biles, Stewart Hillier and sister-in-law May Patey. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret. Visitation was held at K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony. The funeral service took place at St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church in St. Anthony at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6 with Rev. Canon Jean Brenton-Hickman officiating. Interment followed in the church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

KENNEDY, Sylvester J.
Brampton, Ontario
(Formerly of Port Saunders)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sylvester Kennedy announces his passing on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006 at William Osler Health Centre, Brampton, Ontario at the age of 53 years. He leaves to mourn his wife Marie; son Brent; daughter Tanya (Brendan) Tatchell; grandchildren Breanna and Chloe; brothers Patrick, Aloysius (Betty) and Chris (Mary); sister Imelda; sisters-in-law Vera, Isabel and Agnes; brother-in-law Ambrose Mahar. He was predeceased by his parents Sylvester and Mary, sister Mary, brothers Dorman, Mark and John, brother-in-law Lemore Mahar. The family received friends at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Port Saunders on Monday from where the funeral service was held on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Robertson officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix. MCDONALD, George
Englee

Passed away on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, George McDonald, age 65 years. Left to mourn brothers Bernard (Margaret) and Kevin; niece Bernadine McDonald, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Annie. Visitation took place at the Roman Catholic Church in Englee from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11 with Fr. Muchena officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

RYAN, Lorne Craig
Passed away at the Health Science Centre in St. John’s on Monday, Oct. 9, 2006 in his 39th year. Dearly loved husband of Sherry; much loved father of Craig and Kelly. Lorne leaves to mourn wife Sherry Ryan; son Craig; daughter Kelly; Mom and Dad, Edmund and Eva Ryan; brothers Edison Ryan (Elaine) and Dale Ryan (Sheila); sister Alice Moores (Gardner); special member of the family Paul Acreman (Neil); nephews and nieces Colette Frances (Roger), Laurie Moores (Brian), Byron Moores, Daniel Ryan, Scott Ryan, Stacey Pelley, Kate Pelley, Hayley Green and Keianna Ryan; mother-in-law Juanita Cull; father-in-law Reginald March (Shirley); sisters-in-law Paulette Pelley (Rob), Rhonda Thompson (Darryl) and a large circle of other family and friends. Visitation took place at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Tuesday and Wednesday. The funeral service was held at Barrett’s chapel on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lorne’s memory to the Leukemia Research Fund. GENGE, Gladys
Anchor Point

Passed away on Oct. 9, 2006, Gladys Genge, age 87 years. Left with fond memories her children Madge (Hubert) Dredge, Maxwell (Irene) Genge, Nelson (Caroline) Genge, Clifford (Elizabeth) Genge, Wallace (Sheila) Genge, Phyllis (Dudley) Moores, and Harris (Jessie) Genge; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Samuel (1996). Visitation was held at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church in Anchor Point from where the funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12 with Rev. Maki officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

PARRILL, Mariam
Pines Cove

Passed away suddenly on Oct. 9, 2006 at Strait of Belle Isle Health Centre in her 77th year. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of memories daughters Vera Way (Alvin), Hazel Crane (Garfield), Gladys Hamlyn (the late Lawerence) and Maria Genge (Noah); son Wilga Parrill (Pauline) and families of the late Whyman Parrill; special granddaughter Connie Genge (Troy); 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister Jessie Coombs (the late Henry); brothers Stanley Hedge (Caroline) and Harvey Hedge (Judy), as well as a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Gilbert, sons Whyman and Wilfred and daughter Beulah. Visitation took place at St. Andrew’s Church in Lower Cove from where the funeral service was held with Rev. Diane Smith and Maxine Hughes officiating. Interment followed in the Pines Cove Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Lee Nippard and Danielle Galgay, funeral directors.

BRIDLE, Baxter
Red Bay

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Baxter Bridle announces his passing at the family residence in Red Bay on Oct. 10, 2006 at the age of 70 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories wife Priscilla Bridle (Pike); brothers Robert (Julia), Ewart and Eric; sisters Violet Colbourne (Max) and Jane Hann (the late Harvey), as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Malcolm and Patience Bridle and brother Wesley. Visitation took place at Red Bay Gospel Hall on Wednesday and Thursday from where the funeral service was held on Friday, Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. with Mr. David Hunt and Mr. David Swan officiating. Interment followed in the Gospel Hall Cemetery in Red Bay. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, L’Anse au Loup.

WHITEWAY, Maude
St. Julien’s

Passed peacefully away on Oct. 12, 2006, Maude Whiteway of St. Julien’s, age 73 years. Leaving to mourn husband John; children Edward (Bonnie), Lillian (Edward), Phyllis (Leo), Anne (Wayne), Joan (Lou), Gordon, Rose (Kevin), Kenneth (Regina), Daphne (Dwayne), Sharon (Roy) and Cora (Jeff); 24 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister Genevieve McGrath; brothers Timothy (Nora) and Ambrose (Maureen). She was predeceased by her parents Ambrose Joseph and Isabella McGrath, son Kevin Whiteway, brothers John Joe and Leo McGrath. Visitation was held at St. William’s Roman Catholic Church in St. Julien’s from where the funeral mass was held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 16 with Fr. Muchena officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

FOWLER, Joseph
Capstan Island

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph Fowler announces his passing at Labrador South Health Centre in Forteau on Oct. 12, 2006 at the age of 80 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories wife Beulah Fowler (Barney); children Mary Smith (Francis), Reg (Doris), Dudley (Ruby) and Ethel O’Brien (John); nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister Bertha Nadeau; brother David, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents William and Elizabeth Fowler, twin brother Robert Fowler and sister Annie Lowe. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Capstan Island on Thursday and Friday from where the Funeral service was held on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Marlaine Leggo officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Church Cemetery in L’Anse au Diable. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, L’Anse au Loup.

GIBBONS, Edna
Plum Point

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edna Gibbons announces her passing on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 95 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children Jacob (Gladys) Gibbons of Plum Point, Winston Gibbons (Minnie) of Plum Point, Caroline (Stanley) Hedge of Pines Cove and Myrtle (Roland) Coombs of Bear Cove; daughter-in-law Rachel Gibbons of Plum Point; son-in-law Lawrence Coombs of Plum Point; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband George, son Isaac and daughter Nellie. Visitation took place on Friday and Saturday at The Church of the Advent in Plum Point from where the Funeral service was held on Sunday, Oct. 15 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Harrison Heidel officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Pond Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix, Bear Cove.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Audrey House announce her passing on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006 at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 73 years. She leaves to mourn her husband Walter; son Ray (Madonna); daughters Barbara (Paul) Atkins of Hawkes Bay, Margaret (Shawn) Bishop of Glenburnie and Laverne (Murray) and Muriel (Lloyd) of Hawkes Bay; grandchildren Jerry, Tony (Nicole), Tyson, Veronica, Vernon (Tammy), Kayla, Kenda, Gregory (Nadine), Ginelle (Dale) and Mitchell; great-grandchildren Melissa, Dylan, Darcie, Julie, Brooke, Madison, Brianna and Brady; sister Loretta (Jackie and Eddie); brother Ambrose (Cassie) Payne of Port Saunders; sisters-in-law Beth, Viola and Eileen, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Leonard and Flora Payne, sister Elizabeth, brothers Guy Jesse, Ralph, William, Gerald and Ivan, sister-in-law Mary and brother-in-law Lawrence. The family received friends at Bethel Pentecostal Church in Hawkes Bay Monday and Tuesday from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18 with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Elizabeth Spence (nee Walsh) announces her passing on Oct. 18, 2006 at Curtis Memorial Hospital, St. Anthony, in her 97th year. She will be sadly missed by a great circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband George Spence (1995). The funeral service took place at the Roman Catholic Church in Bird Cove. Interment followed in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Nameless Cove, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

LODER, Selby Welbourn
St. Lunaire-Griquet

Passed away on Oct. 19, 2006, Selby Welbourn Loder, age 85 years. Leaving to mourn his wife of 2 ½ years Olive; three sons Albert (Gloria), Ralph (Marie) and Ross; six daughters Mary, Ivy (Art), Selma (Abe), Sadie (Nelson), Alice (Kevin) and Donna (Kenneth); five stepsons; four stepdaughters; 24 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother Arthur; sister Mary, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Blanch and two children. Visitation took place at Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in St. Lunaire-Griquet from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22 with Pastor Primmer officiating. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lauren Gaslard announces his passing on Monday, Oct. 23, 2006 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 53 years. He leaves to mourn his wife Zona; sons Mikita (Kayla) and Rodney (Hazareth); granddaughters Zoe and Kelsey; very special friend, his dog Benjie; brothers Roy (Faye), Dennis (Shirley), Pius (Cindy), Edmund (Brenda), Frank (Philomena), Bernard (Margaret) and Neil (Leona), all residing in Port au Choix and Kevin of Nova Scotia; sisters Cassie (Ambrose Payne) of Port Saunders, Selma (Pius) Walsh, Denise (Calvin) and Selina of Port au Choix, Mary (ReJean) Berger of Kirkfield, Ontario and Bride (Ken) Cavanaugh of Kenora, Ontario, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Ignatius and Cecilia and brother Joseph. The family received friends at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church in Port au Choix on Tuesday and Wednesday from where the funeral service took place on Thursday, Oct. 26 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Passed away on Oct. 24, 2006, Elizabeth Campbell, age 68 years. Leaving to mourn children Regina (John) Short, Gordon (Phyllis) and Junior (Loretta); grandchildren Brian, Natania, Natasha, Claudia and Randall; great-grandchildren Brittany, Braden and Kaidence; many nieces and nephews; brother John; sisters Hope (Lorne), Margaret (George), and Elva (Dave). She was predeceased by her husband Joe, parents Noah and Clara Woodward, brothers Theophilus and Noah, sisters Vina, Nellie and Rosamond. Visitation took place at the United Church in Cook’s Harbour from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27 with Rev. Pendleton officiating. Interment followed at the family cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

NOSEWORTHY, Elizabeth
Green Island Brook

Passed away on Oct. 27, 2006, Elizabeth Noseworthy of Green Island Brook, age 79 years. Left with fond memories sons Isaac (Marona), Ross (Elaine), Elijah (Amy) and Glenn (Barb); daughters Hazel (Lar) Hughes, Sarah (Laud) Noseworthy, Prissie (Terrance) Hughes and Cicily (Ray) Mitchelmore; 25 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; sisters Susie Noseworthy, Millie Macey and Cicily (Donald) Dempster; sisters-in-law Maria Hughes, Celie Hughes and Effie Hughes. She was predeceased by her husband Percy, sons James and grandson Jacob. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Green Island Brook from where the funeral service was held on Sunday, Oct. 29 with Rev. Diane Smith officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
