WHITE, GERTRUDE I. - Sandy Cove
Passed peacefully away at her daughter's residence in Brantford, Ontario on Oct. 1, 2004, with her loving family by her side. She was in her 69th year. She leaves to mourn her loving husband of 48 years, Wilga; daughters Evalina (Tom)Pike of Nova Scotia, Sheila (Josh) Genge, Rona (Bob) Newhook, Charlene (Craig) White, all of Ontario; seven grandchildren Kristy Genge, Scott and Holly Pike, Niki and Micheal Newhook, Danielle and Kaitlynn White; brothers George W. White and Anthony( Sr.) White; sisters Rita Coles and Virtue Parrill and as well as a circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents William and Rhoda White; brothers Eldred and John, and sister Rosanna. Visitation took place at St. Thomas's Anglican Church in Sandy Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct 7 with Rev. Nelson Chapman officiating. Internment followed in the Anglican cemetery in Savage Cove. Funeral arrangements were en! trusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

CAINES, EVANGELINE - Bartlett's Harbour
Passed peacefully away at John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on Oct. 3, 2004. She was in her 81st year. She leaves to mourn children Brendan (Pearl), Lemore (Margaret), Maude (Cyril), Hazel (Wallace), Isabell, Randell (Marlene) and Vincent; grandchildren Betty, Abram, Shanna, Katrina, Dallas, Dawson, Michael, Krista, Trevor, Dion, Andrew, James, Sean and Courtney; great-grandchildren Abbie, Kurt, Kaitlin, Luke, Danielle, Madison, Kevin, Reid, Allison and Arienna; granddaughter Cathy, as well as a circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Luke Sr. and son Luke Jr. Visitation took place at the Roman Catholic Church in Bartlett's Harbour from where the funeral mass was held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 6. Internment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

LOCKE, OCEAN AMANDA LILY - Roddickton
Passed peacefully away at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Oct. 4, 2004. She was in her 17th year. She will be forever remembered by her mother Nova Locke; father Morgan Randell; grandparents Marina and Art Locke, and Susie and Edgar Randell; aunts and uncles, Trevor, Harlen, Wayne (Juanita), Joy (Martin) and Judy ( Dwayne); cousins Roger, Brandon, Darren, Natasha, Nikki, Nicole, Terri and Valarie, as well as a circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation took place at the Pentecostal Church in Roddickton from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct 7 with Pastor Keith Simms officiating. Internment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, Roddickton, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

COATES, MARTHA ELIZABETH - Eddies Cove East
Passed peacefully away at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Oct. 6, 2004, surrounded by her family. She was in her 79th year. She leaves to mourn children Elsie (Chester) Slade of Kitchener, Ontario, Ollie Coates and Gideon (June) Coates, both of Eddies Cove East, Lilvie (Joe) Parrill of St. Anthony, Dian (Terrance) Prowse of Smith's Harbour, Fanny (Merrill) Hoddinott of St. John's, Seymour (Cora) of Corner Brook and Elizabeth (Clyde) Toope of Devon, Alberta; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers Edgar (Rita) Applin, Albert (Merina) Applin, Clayton (Sandra) Applin and Gideon (Mary) Applin; sisters Olga (Pleman) Hoddinott, Goldie (Robert) Theakston and Mary Ann Waye; sister-in-law Cicely (the late George) Applin. As well as a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence. Visitation took place at the St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Lower Cove from where the funeral service w! as held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9. Internment foolowed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

BUTT, GLADYS - Pinware
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gladys Butt annonce her passing at the family residence on Oct. 6, 2004 at the age of 62 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories her husband Samuel; children Keith, Lois (Murray), Norman, Kevin, Joey, Leon (Angela), Tony, Ann Marie (Chad), and JT; three grandchildren Shayne, Shanelle and Wilfred; five sisters; one brother, and a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Allan and Deaiah Taylor, brother Jasper Taylor and sister Lynda Taylor. Visitors were received at the Community Centre in Pinware on Friday and Saturday from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10 with Rev. Lee Michelin officiating. Interment followed in the church cementary. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home in L'Anse au Loup.

GILLINGHAM, WILLIAM - Former Resident of Englee
Passed peacefully away at Grand Falls-Windsor on Oct. 8, 2004. He was in his 90th year. He leaves to mourn sons Edward (Margaret) of Corner Brook, Winston (Anne) of St.John's, Frank (Beatrice) of Englee and Nelson (Iris) of Grand Falls- Windsor; daughters Bessie (Osbounce) Reid of Badger and Sybil (Tony) Power of Grand Falls-Windsor; former daughters-in-law Rita Gillingham of Englee and Myrtle Gillingham of Grand Falls-Windsor; 24 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren, and a large circle of othe relatives and friends. Visitation took place at the Apostolic Faith Church in Englee from where the funeral service wa held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct 11 with Pastor Vanzel Quinland officiating were entursted to K.M. Filliatre Funeral Home, Roddickton, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

FLYNN, ALPHONSUS - Conche
May 12, 1930 - Oct. 12, 2004

Passed peacfully away at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Oct. 8, 2004. (2 different dates given ) He was in his 74th year. He will be forever remembered by his wife Kathleen; daughters Selina (Gary) and Phyllis; sons terry (Mary), Edward, Phillip, Darren (Lisa), and Deon (Judy); grandchildren Trent, Tyler, Terrilynn and Joshua; great-grandchild Brianna Danielle; sisters Gertrude, Lucy, Nora and Josephine; brother Leo, as well as many other relatives and friends. Visitation and wake services took place at the Sacred Heart Parish in Conche from where the funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 11 with Fr. Jack Malnegro officiating. Interment folloed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

HUMBER, CYRIL
Port au Choix

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Cyril Humber announce his passing on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders in his 78th year. He leaves to mourn his wife Dorthy; son Ivan (Hazel) of Shoal Cove West; daughter Consie (Myles) of New Ferolle; grandchildren Ciara, Robbie, Gregory, Hayley Brake and Quinn Snokes; brother Andrew; sisters Elizabeth Dobbin, Janette Mitchell and Melvina Brake, all residing at Corner Brook, Eliza Sharpe of St. John's, Edna (Don) Stuckless of Twillingate, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Cassie, sisters Rachel Hynes, Marion Butt and Evangeline, brother John and grandson Quinn Humber. The family received friends at Fillatre's Funeral Home in Port au Choix on Tuesday and Wednesday. Visitation took place at St. Margaret of Scotland Anglican Church in Reef's Harbour from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21 with Capt. Jason Haggstrom officiating. Interment followed at the French Cove Cemetery in Reef's Harbour. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted or donations can be made to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.**

MITCHELMORE, DORIS (DOREEN) VIOLET - St. Anthony
Passed away at Curtis Memorial Hospital on Friday, Oct. 22, 2004, Doris (Doreen) Violet Mitchelmore, at the age of 89 years. She leaves to mourn sons Terry (Mary) of Donnybrook, Australia, Richard (Nellie) of St. Anthony, Gerald (Joyce) of Cole Harbor, Nova Scotia, Theo (Sylvia) of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Edwin (Dot) of Brampton, Ontario and Godfrey (Priscilla) St. Anthony; daughter Gillian of Brampton; 23 grandchildren; 32 great grand children; sister Joyce (Clarence) Beaumount; brother Howard (Doreen) Lanyon of Cornwall, England; sisters-in-law Jane (Joe) Keats and Ellen Mitchelmore, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation took place at the funeral home on West Street. The funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct.25 at St. Mary's Anglican Church, St. Anthony with Rev. Jean Brenton-Hickman officiating. Interments followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

HYNES, MADONNA - Roddickton
Passed peacefully away at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Friday, Oct. 22, 2004. She was in her 75th year. Left with fond and loving memories are husband Gerald; children Leo (Elizabeth), Harold (Joslyn), Gerald (Beatrice), Shirley (James), Irene (Laud), Josephine (Morris), Margaret (Bernard), Eileen (Warrick), Maureen (Bren), Terrance (Joanne), Sandra (Brian) and Donnie (Geoff); brother Martin (Patrick). Also left with the loss of a special Nan and fondest memories of her are 24 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Susan (Alvone), sister Ida (Norton) and brother John (Nora). Visitation was held at the Roman Catholic Church in Roddickton from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 25 with Fr. Jack Malnegro officiating. Interments followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, Roddickton , Lee Nippard, funeral director.

ROBERTS, FRANK
Norman's Bay

Passed peacefully away at John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on Oct. 23, 2004. He was in his 71st year. Leaving to mourn his brother in law Winston Mercer of Upper Island Cove. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Norman's Bay from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

SAUNDERS, FARON LYNDON - Main Brook
Passed away suddenly at Northumberland Hills Hospital on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004 in his 31st year, Faron Lyndon Saunders, beloved husband of Faye Elliott; loved father of Brandon and Colleen, both at home; loving son of Victoria Saunders and the late Patrick Saunders; dear brother of Nelson, Oral, Morris, Dexter, Earl, Doris, Sandy, Wendy and Jean, also sadly missed by his many other relatives and friends. The funeral service was held at the Bethel Pentecostal Church in Main Brook. A tree was planted in memory of Faron in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area in Orangeville. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, Sept 11, 2005 at 2:30p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

BYRNE, LAURA MARY (HUNT)
Conche

Passed peacefully away surrounded by family and friends at her son's residence on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2004. Leaving to mourn 16 children, Maude (Frank), Donna (Ed), Toni, Don (Ida), Victor (Lucy), George (Alice), Kevin (Donna), Bernie (Gertie), Barry (Bertha), Jacinta (Rick), Goretti (Gary), Terry (Theresa), Jude (Delight), Millie (Bernie), Andy (Karen) and Bill; 37 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters Mary and Carmel; brother Patrick, as well as many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Bernard, parents Tom and Ellen, brothers Herbert and Leo, sister Doreen and grandson Michael. Visitation was held at Caul's Funeral Home on Tuesday, Oct.26th. Funeral services took place at Sacred Heart Church in Conche on Friday, Oct. 29. Interment followed at Sacred Heart Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Cancer Society and/or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
We will miss you dearly Mother. Your strength, courage and determination in the face of adversity has been an unyielding inspiration to us and will continue to encourage and challenge us in our own lives in the days and years to come. Bravo dearest mother...God Bless! **

ROBERTS, EDNA MAE - St. Anthony
Passed peacefully away at John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on Oct. 25, 2004. She was in her 82nd year. She leaves to mourn daughters Marina (Ephriam) Sparkes, Rita Chaytor and Melva (David) Whitten; sons Guy (Audrey) Roberts and Don Roberts; step-children Jessie Colbourne, Mount (Lydia) Roberts and Eliza (Alonzo) Perry; step-daughter-in-law Winnie Roberts; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister Emily Green, as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Fred; parents Clara and Freeman Green, sister Maise; step-children George Roberts, Minnie Hardy and Roland Roberts. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew her. Visitation took place at the funeral home on West Street in St. Anthony. The funeral service was held at the Salvation Army church, St. Anthony at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 27, with Capt. Richard Mouland officiating. Internment followed in the church cemetery. Flowers or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

HILLIER, LEWIS - Main Brook
Passed peacefully away at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Oct. 26, 2004. He was in his 68th year. He will be forever remembered by his wife Violet; daughter Nina (Brian); sons Rick (Hazel), Roy and Leon (Cindy); grandchildren Marshall, Adam, Ryan, Timmy, Courtney, Nicole, Amber and Joshua; great-grandchildren Keiara, Kaylee, Mackenzie and Madason; brothers Baxter (Elva), Melvin (Jessie) and Hedley (Elizabeth); sisters Mable, Muriel (Cyril), Ivy and Beryl (Melvin), as well as many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Garland and Mary Jane (Polly) Hillier and sister Beatrice. Visitation took place at the Salvation Army Church in Englee from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29. Internment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

BUDGELL, DORA M. - St. Anthony
Passed peacefully away at John M. Gray Centre on Oct. 27, 2004. She will always be remembered with deep love and affection by her supportive husband and soul mate Fred; her children Roland (Marion), Velma (David), John (Judy), Priscilla (Godfrey), Debbie (Bill), Lester (Donna), Raymond (Debbie), Leonard (Joyce), Ernest (Valma) and Wade (Linda); 27 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, as well as a great number of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Roland Budgell, Lester Budgell, Leonard Budgell, John Budgell, Raymond Budgell and Major Ernest Budgell. Visitation took place at the funeral home on West Street, St. Anthony. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct 30 at the Salvation Army Citadel in St. Anthony with Major Wade Budgell and Capt. Richard Mouland officiating and with other members of the family. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to the Grenfell Foundation. The Budgell family gratefully acknowledges all individuals who offered spiritual and physical comfort during her long period of illness. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

PAYNE, HERMAN HOLLAND
Fort McMurray (Formerly of Cow Head)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Herman Holland Payne announce his passing on Oct. 28, 2004 in his 49th year. He will be sadly missed by his mother Olga Payne; sisters Loretts, Oreila, Janice and Iris; brothers Sam, Frank and Paul, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Allan Payne, and sisters Betty and Marie. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Cow Head on Wednesday from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov 4 with Rev. Pratt officiating. Interment followed at the family plot. By request of the family, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stoke Foundation. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Parsons Funeral Home, 63 Northmain Street, Deer Lake.

SQUIRES, EDWARD - Flowers Cove
The sudden passing occurred in Corner Brook on Oct. 30, 2004. He was in his 36th year. He leaves to mourn his wife Wilhelmena (Sween); children Eddie and Catherine; parents Joan and Levi Squires; brother Chris; sister Ruth; grandmother Susie Parsons, as well as a circle of other family and friends. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Flowers Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov 2 with Rev. Shirley Gosse officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Flowers of donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.
