CULL, Gladys Louise
Passed away peacefully at Chancellor Park Residence in St. John's on Nov. 14, 2013, Gladys Louise Cull of St. John's (originally of Great Brehat, NL), age 86 years. Gladys was the last of her generation. She was predeceased by her brothers Abel, Albert, Uriah and Joshua, as well as her sisters Ethel, Beatrice, Mariah and Minnie. She was surrounded by many cousins, nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Out of many sisters and brothers-in-law she shared a special relationship with Dorothy Tucker, to whom she was a true sister. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony, after which the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17 at the United Church in St. Anthony with Rev. Stephanie McClellan officiating. Burial followed in the United Church Cemetery in Great Brehat. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

ELMS, Raymond James
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Raymond James Elms of St. Anthony, NL, announce his peaceful passing at the Palliative Care Unit Western Memorial Hospital on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013 at the age of 94 years. Leaving to mourn son David (Sandra), Corner Brook; daughter Jackie (Wally), Steady Brook; grandchildren Jonathan (Amanda), Jennifer, Jeremy and Andrew; great-grandson Davis Raymond; step-granddaughters Emily and Meghan; step-great-grandson Max; brother Lewis (Jessie), and a large circle of other family and friends who were a big part of his life. He was predeceased by his wife Josie Elms (June 30, 2002). Dad left a positive impression on everyone who met him. He was known for his infectious sense of humor and his treasure chest of stories, all of which will be greatly missed. A celebration of his life took place on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 3 p.m. at St. Mary's Anglican Church, St. Anthony with Fr. Paul Findlay officiating. Interment took place at the Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Levinia Fillatre, funeral director.

GIBBONS, Lexie Kaylee
Lexie Kaylee Gibbons
of Black Duck Cove, NL was born on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at 2:10 p.m. to parents Brandon and Candice Gibbons at Charles Curtis Memorial Hospital, St. Anthony. She weighed 8 lbs. 1 ½ oz. and was 50.5 cm long. She was a beautiful healthy baby girl that we were dreaming of and completed our family perfectly. We, Lexie's family were blessed with one month to spend with her before she went to her heavenly home on Nov. 7, 2013. During her short stay on earth, Lexie and our family had the opportunity to experience many special moments that we will hold within our hearts forever. Lexie experienced holding hands with Mommy and Daddy, hugs and kisses from her family, hearing our voices as her brothers Evan and Tristan talked to her and being told "I love you" an uncountable number of times. Lexie is deeply loved and will be missed by her Mommy and Daddy, big brothers Eva and Tristin, her grandparents, great-grandparents, uncles, aunts and a large circle of family. Lexie will always remain our precious baby girl and Evan's and Tristan's little sister, and we will hold her again in heaven one day. Funeral services for Lexie was held on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013 at 2 p.m., St. Mary's Anglican Church, Black Duck Cove with Rev. Harvey officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery.

HILLLIER, Jessie Eileen
Passed peacefully away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Nov. 29, 2013, Mrs. Jessie Eileen Hillier of St. Lunaire-Griquet, NL, in her 67th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memoires her husband of 48 years John; sons Paul (Sonya), and Todd (Elaine); daughter Nadine (Michael); mother Julia Newman; brothers Ambrose and Neil; sister Patsy; seven grandchildren Samantha, Jonathon, Carly, Zachary, Lindsey, Benjamin, and Brooklyn; one great-grandchild Austin, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her father Benjamin Newman. Visitation was held at the Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in Griquet followed by the funeral service on Monday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

HILLLIER, Rita Mae
Passed peacefully away on Nov. 21, 2013 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital, Mrs. Rita Mae Hillier of St. Lunaire-Griquet, NL, in her 84th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons Wilfred (Lillian), Eugene (Carole), Kevin (Mildred), Dennis (Cynde), and Ivan; daughters Helen (Frank), Lillian (Carl), Triffie (Jack), Donna (Bill), Debbie, and Janet (Art); sister Livie; two half-sisters; four half-brothers; 38 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Harvey Hillier, brothers Allan, George, Gordon, and Chesley, sisters Pearl, Lucy, Olive, Ruby, half-sister Rhoda, parents John and Rhoda Pilgrim, son Alvin, daughters Ruby and Lona. Visitation was held at the Calvary Pentecostal Church in Griquet followed by the funeral service which took place at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25 with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard funeral director. Memorial donations to The Gideon's International are graciously accepted.

PATEY, Amos S.
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Amos S. Patey (1926-2013) announce his passing on Friday, Nov. 29, 2013 at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 87 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Maisie of 58 years; daughters Emma (Claude), Christine, Daisy (Francis), and Sadie; one son Derrek (Selma); 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters Mary Samson, Marie (Hebbert), Hepsey House, and Evangeline Samson; brothers Austin (Edith), Joseph (Serena), and Lewis (Linda); sisters-in-law Bessie House, Bertha Patey, and Marjorie Patey; and son-in-law Harvey Patey. He was predeceased by his daughter Faye, son Llewellyn, parents Henry and Susan Patey, brothers Henry Jr., Wilson, Garfield, Clary, and Peter. Visitation took place at St. Peters Anglican Church in River of Ponds on Saturday evening and Sunday from where the funeral service was held on Monday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Paulette Bugden officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix. PERRY-CAINES, Agnes Pearl
It is with great sadness that the family of Agnes Pearl Perry Caines of Daniel's Harbour, NL, (June 5, 1951 - Nov. 27, 2013) announces her passing at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013 at the age of 62 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Frank; daughter Keisha; granddaughter Kiana; sisters Lorraine (Derek), Carrie (Mel), and Avis (Darren), brothers Pleman (Ivy), and Dennis; brother-in-law Jerry (Rosalind), as well as a large circle of other family, friends and relatives. Agnes was predeceased by her parents Edmund and Eliza, in-laws Maurice and Rita Caines. As for Agnes' wishes cremation has taken place and the memorial service took place at Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, on Sunday, Dec. 1, at 1:30 p.m. with Bishop Donald Young officiating. PIEROWAY, Olive May (nee Doane)
Passed peacefully away at the Agnes Pratt Home on Nov. 24, 2013, Olive May Pieroway (nee Doane), at the age of 92 years. She is predeceased by her husband Stanley; daughter Evelyn; son Donald; brother Ernest, and sister Violet. Left with loving memories her children Ronald (Vina), Roy (Judy-deceased), Lorraine (Frank), Shirley (Jack), James, Daniel, Carolyn, Constance and Donna (Mark); 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a numerous number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and a large circle of friends and colleagues. A memorial service to celebrate Olive's life took place on Monday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel, 329 Freshwater Road. A further gathering to celebrate Olive's life will be held in Stephenville Crossing in the summer of 2014. Donations in Olive's memory may be made to the Canadian Mental Health NL Chapter or Alzheimer Society of NL. PILGRIM, Sarah (Sadie)
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sadie Pilgrim of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL, announces her passing on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013 at her residence in Happy Valley-Goose Bay at the age of 95 years. She will be sadly missed by her children Blanche (Max), Enid (Brian), Melinda (Larry), Darlene (Peter), Ivy (Raymond), Lyla (Keith), Eldon (Jennie), Melvin (Beryl) and Donna (Garth); 29 grandchildren and 48 great- grandchildren; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Wilfred, brother Ralph Bartlett, twin sister Hettie, sisters, Rhoda, Madeline and Olive, parents Ambrose and Blanche Bartlett, sons Eugene and Guy and daughter Shirley. Friends visited Fillatre's Funeral Home, Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Friday and on Sunday from the Pentecostal Church in St. Lunaire-Griquet from where the funeral service was held on Monday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m. Interment followed at the Pentecostal Cemetery, St. Lunaire-Griquet. POWELL, Gordon Elihu
Passed peacefully away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on Nov. 26, 2013, Mr. Gordon Elihu Powell of St. Anthony, NL, in his 66th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of forty-one years Juanita; two daughters Tracey (Lorn) and Tammy (Morgan); two sons Ricky, Kirby (Rachel); 10 grandchildren; four sisters Beluah (Robert), Lydia, Sadie, and Gertie; two brothers Hedley (Mary) and Donald (Joan); as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Sarah, brothers Melvin and Alfred, and daughter-in-law Wendy. Visitation was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29 with Rev. Stephanie McClellan officiating. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Nellie H. Rumbolt (1929-2013) of Port au Choix, NL, announce her passing on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 84 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters Faye (Sid) Buckle, Avelina (Reg) Rumbolt, Mary of Port au Choix, and Pearl of Ontario; sons Hank, Loman (Dinah) of Toronto, Craig (Rowena) of Fort McMurray, Junior, Brendon (Sheryl), and Todd (Sandy) of Port au Choix; grandchildren Connie, Vanessa, Patricia, Kenny, Dennis, Trista, Cody, Keegan, Rose, Jessie, Jamie, Bryanna, Samantha, Cory, Grant, Brett, Carrie, Quenton, and Velma; great-grandchildren Logan, Cameron, Kaylin, Amelia, Zachery, Cole, Nathaniel, Courtney, Cassie, Jayden, and Olivia; brothers Chesley, and Raymond (Yvonne); sisters Dulcie Emma (Jack), Melvie (Pius) and a large circle of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gabriel Tatchell Sr. of Castors River North, NL, announce his passing on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 78 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his sons Lawrence, and Gabriel Jr. (Marie) of Castors River North; daughter Alicia (Gus) of Port Saunders; grandchildren Santana, Lamonte, Shantelle, Jenny, Garfield, Janice, and Codie; great-grandchildren Nelson, Julia, and Bella; brothers Pius, Isaac, and Anthony and a circle of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Visitation took place at St. Ann's Chapel in Castors River North on Monday and Tuesday from where the funeral service took place on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 12 noon with Fr. Gabriel officiating. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mr. Harrison Aaron Warren of Cook's Harbour, NL, announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook on Nov. 3, 2013 in his 75th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memoires his loving wife Vira Warren; his children Claude (Anita), Collis (Cathy), Pansy (Ford), Shawn (Mary Jane), and Kirby; grandchildren Jennifer, Kris, Heather, Travis, Dillon, Ian, Bradley, and Victoria Lynn; great-grandchildren Peyton and Eli; sisters Hazel Diamond, Dulcie Woodward, and Grace Pittman, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by parents Caleb and Rosanna Warren, his brothers Isaac, Ford, and Whyman, his sisters Violet Woodward and Jessie Carroll, and great-grandson Brenden Warren. Visitation was held at the St. Matthews Anglican Church in Cook's Harbour from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7 with Rev. Mark O. Wilkoff and Rev. WOODWARD, Mildred
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mildred Woodward of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL, announces her passing on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013 at the Labrador Health Centre at the age of 89 years. She will be sadly missed by her children Herb (Kay), Alvin and Elsie; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sister Keziah Woodward; brothers Wilfred Coates (Beckey) and Whyman Coates (Catherine); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Peter and son Cyril. Friends visited Fillatre's Funeral Home, Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Friday and on Sunday from St. Mark's Anglican Church in Boat Harbour from where the funeral service was held on Monday, Nov. 11. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Boat Harbour. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Goose Bay and Port au Choix.
