BYRNE, Victor Joachim
Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Nov. 4, 2012, Mr. Victor Joachim Byrne of Conche, NL, in his 61st year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Lucy; his three sons Travis; Jordan (Ashley), and Bobby (Jessica); his three precious grandchildren Haley, Conall, and Seamus; his nine brothers; five sisters; special Ray Kenny, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. Victor was predeceased by his parents Laura and Bernard Byrne, his sister Jacinta and his parents-in-law Eileen and Mike Byrne. Visitation was held at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Conche followed by the funeral mass starting at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8 with Fr. Echedo Vitus officiating. Cremation followed after the service at Russell's Funeral Home in Stephenville. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

COOMBS, Mamie Ellen
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mamie Coombs of Shoal Cove, NL, announces her passing on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's at the age of 63 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Angus; son Tony (Jennifer); sisters Vivian (Steadman), Rowena (Cosmo), Elizabeth (Archibald), Bessie (Steward), Lavinia, Belinda (Steven), and Olga (Melvin); brothers Lambert (Iris), and Israel (Kathleen), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Lambert and Eva Coombs. Visitation took place at St. Margaret of Scotland Church in Reef's Harbour on Tuesday and Wednesday from where the funeral service was held on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. with Rev. H. Harvey officiating. Interment followed in the French Cove Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix. HOUSE, Alfreda Mae
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alfreda House of Port Saunders, NL, announce her passing on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 99 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, daughters Edith (Bill) Ledrew, Massey Drive, Annie (Leo) Kennedy, White Rock, British Columbia, Helen Ashcraft, Montana, Irene Walker, British Columbia, Linda (Dennis) Hewlan, Portland Creek, and Marie (Robin) Smith, Port Saunders; son Albert (Korina), Port Saunders; daughter-in-law Jean; 22 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Henry, son Jack, grandson Paul, parents Charles and Anastasia Pike, son-in-law Trevor, five brothers and one sister. The family received friends at St. John the Divine Anglican Church in Port Saunders on Thursday from where the funeral service was held on Friday, Nov. 16 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Paulette Bugden officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to Rufus Guinchard Health Centre or St. John the Divine Church Fund. KENNEDY, Joseph John
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph Kennedy announce his passing on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, Mr. Joseph Kennedy of Bird Cove, NL, in his 68th year. He leaves to mourn with loving memories his brothers Simon (Ethel Hynes), and John (Georgina Mahar); sister Melena (Patrick Caines), all the residence of Bird Cove as well as his relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Simon and Catherine Pittman, brothers Michael, and John, and sister Alice (Austin Caines). Visitation was held at the Our lady of Grace Church in Bird Cove from where the funeral mass took place at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 30 with Father Biju Anthony officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director

PATEY, Mary Belle
Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Centre on Nov. 1, 2012, Ms. Mary Belle Patey, (April 16, 1917 - Nov. 1, 2012), of St. Anthony, NL, in her 95th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories sisters and brothers: Rosalie Spurrell, Violet Decker, Edmund (Ted) Patey and Dennis Patey (Dorothy); nieces and nephews: Glenn Patey, Sharon Spurrell, Kathy Morris (Colin), Janice Kattenbusch (Paul), Dion Patey (Darlene), Danny Patey (Stacey), Darren Patey (Tina); great-nieces and nephews: Danielle and Shawna Morris, Christopher and Natasha Patey, Lauren, Brooke and Nicholas Kattenbusch, Jordan Patey, Cayden and Logan Patey. She was predeceased by her parents Leslie T. Patey and Amelia Jane (Ash) Patey.
Mary led an active life of hiking, berry-picking, and picnicking with her friends in the summer months; skiing, skating and ice-fishing during the long winters. Mary was a long-time volunteer in the town; she was often seen with her cash box and float at the door of the various functions collecting the admission. Because of her volunteerism in the community she was the recipient of the Queens Silver Jubilee award and medal in 1977. Being the adventurous type she enjoyed travel. She often spoke of her trips to Boston to visit extended family and her travels in Europe. She made sure to document these varied activities with her camera.
She began her working life in the Grenfell Handicrafts followed by the Grenfell Memorial Co-op. In 1948 she transferred to the Accounting Office of the International Grenfell Association where she remained until her retirement in 1982. She spoke fondly of her years there and how fortunate she was to have met so many people from so many different places because of her work; many became lifelong friends.
Although Mary did not marry and have children of her own she was very dedicated to her nieces and nephews who have fond and loving memories of their 'Mamie'.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

PILGRIM, Nellie Margaret
Passed peacefully away at White Bay Central Health Centre in Roddickton on Nov. 25, 2012, Mrs. Nellie Pilgrim of Roddickton, NL, in her 88th year, (April 21, 1924 - Nov. 25, 2012). She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 68 years Dorman; son Frank (Margetta); her daughter Joan (George); daughter-in-law Dulcie; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren as well as a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by son Donald, sister Dulcie, three brothers Stanley, Sidney, and Frederick. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home in Roddickton from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. from the United Church in Roddickton with Majors Henry and Beatrice Bingle officiating. Interment followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Roddickton. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

REARDON, Ms. Isabella (Belle)
Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Nov. 7, 2012, Ms. Isabella (Belle) Reardon of St. Anthony, NL, in her 53rd year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her son Brandon; sisters Linda (Philip), Lorrie (Alec), Rose (Tony), and Marcella (Paul); brothers Charlie (Susan), Joe (Brenda), Eugene (Rita), and Austin (Agnes); sisters-in-law Eleanor and Paula; special friend Beth (Cyril) Byrne, as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Florence and Clifford, brothers Wilfred and Brian, niece Trudy and nephew Kenny. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony from where the funeral mass took place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 at St. Francis Xavier Parish in St. Anthony with Fr. Anthony Nwaohiri officiating. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Goose Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

ROBERTS, Bernard Allan
Passed peacefully away at his home in Ship Cove, NL, on Nov. 3, 2012, Mr. Bernard Allan Roberts in his 75th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Vina; sons Terry (Dorcas), Barry (Merle), and Wade (Angela); daughters Bernette (Cyril), Marion (Gary), Lisa, and Diane (Neil); brother Raymond; sisters Dorothy, Maisie (Mike) and Leonie (Kevin); 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; and many other special family and friends. He was predeceased by his daughter Beverly Phobie and parents Keywood and Amelia Roberts. Visitation was held at the United Church in Ship Cove followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, with Rev. Gus Pendleton officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddicton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

RUMBOLT, Guy Donald
It is with great sadness that the family of Guy Donald Rumbolt of Mary's Harbour, NL, Jan. 2, 1947 Nov. 30, 2012 announce his passing on Nov. 30, 2012 at the age of 65 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Doreen; children Kris (Colette), Greg (Amy) and Miranda; brother Stewart (Edna); sister Florence (Lester), and grandchildren; Madison, Jesse, Logan and Aleah as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by son Dennis, sister Delilah, and parents Prudence and Jim. A private funeral service with Rev. Gerald Taylor officiating was held at Barrett's Funeral Home, St. John's on Dec. 4, with family and friends present. Cremation was held on Dec. 5. The family will travel to Mary's Harbour in the summer 2013 for a spreading of ashes and memorial service.

WAY, Lloyd
Passed peacefully away at his home in Savage Cove, NL, on Nov. 1, 2012, Mr. Lloyd Way in his 56th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his sisters Lorraine (Harvey) and family; Olga and family; Minnie and family; brothers Scott (Goldie) and family; sister-in-law Sibyl and family; brother-in-law Wilson and family; many nieces, nephews and special friends. He was predeceased by his parents Stephen and Ellen Way, brothers Sterling and Clifford and sister Lucy. Visitation was held at the St. Marks Church in Savage Cove where the funeral service took place on Sunday, Nov. 4 with Rev. Rowland officiating. Burial followed into the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
