Flowers Cove
Passed away at the John M. Gray Centre on Nov. 3, 2009, Mable Way of
Flowers Cove, in her 88th year. Mabel leaves to mourn her sons Alvin (Vera),
Don, Bruce, (Sandra) and Lewis (Marina), as well as daughter-in-law Elva,
also 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great- grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Maxwell in 2004, son Angus in 2002 and
her daughter-in-law Ann in 2009. She will be sadly missed. Visitation was
held at the United Church in Flowers Cove, from where the funeral service
took place at 11 a.m on Saturday, Nov. 7, with Rev. John McGonigle officiating.
Interment followed in the Flowers Cove United Cemetery. Funeral arrangements

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Juanita Perry announce
her passing on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009 at Western Memorial
Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 54 years. Leaving to mourn
her husband Derek; son Brent (Wavey) of Hawkes Bay, Rhonda (Willy) of Wembley,
Alberta; grandchildren Angelina, Austin, and Jordan; mother Hepsey House;
brothers Dan (Barbara) of Port Saunders, Clan (Brenda) of Cow Head, and
Craig and Lisa; mother-in-law Edna Perry of Hawkes Bay and a large circle
of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased
by her father Isaac House, father-in-law John Perry. The family received
friends at Holy Innocent's Anglican Church, Hawkes Bay from where the funeral
service took place on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Canon Hubert
Vallis officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery in Sandy

Maryann and Mary Alice Burke, Philomena, Nellie and Mildred Rumbolt, brothers-in-law
Guy (Mary Rumbolt), and Jack (Emma) Rumbolt; and a very special lady his
caregiver Evelyn Gould, and large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Eva. The family received friends

Passed peacefully away at the Rufus Ginchard Health Centre in Port Saunders
on Nov. 5, 2009, Melina Fillier in her 86th year. Melina
leaves to mourn her brother Malcolm of Deer Lake and a family of six children,
Golda (Lebert) Ropson of St. Anthony, Woodrow (Linda) of Cold Lake, Alberta,
Miriam (Seymour) Compton of Englee, Barbara Fillier of Kitchener, Ontario,
Barry (Jenny) of Clive, Alberta and Major Drucella (Rick) Pollard of Sarnia,
Ontario. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren
and one great-great grandchild. Melina was predeceased by two brothers
Andrew and George. Visitation took place at the Salvation Arm Church in
Englee from where the funeral was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 9, with
Major Clyde Guy and Major Rick Pollard officiating. Interment followed
at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Englee. The funeral arrangements where

Passed away suddenly in her home on Nov. 7, Mary Dahlberg in
her 84th
year. Mary was born to parents Dorman Tulk and Julia Ryder in Eastham,
Massachusetts on Nov. 5, 1925. Mary leaves many friends to mourn her passing,
among them her special friends Rex and Lillian Cooper. Mary was predeceased
by her loving husband Robert in 2005. Visitation was held at the United Church
in Main Brook from with the service took place at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov.
13, with Major Clyde Guy officiating. Interment followed in the Main Brook

Passed away late at night on Nov. 7, 2009, Sybil M. Patey in
her 63rd year. Sybil leaves to mourn her husband Lloyd; six daughters Gail
(Tom), Leona (Gerald), Carlann (Brent), Betty (Overton), Sandra (Eric),
and Rhonda (Frank), and one son Kirby (Priscilla), two sisters Pearl (Paul)
and Alma (Brian), and one brother Everton (Mary Jane); six nieces Tammy,
Beverly, Joanne, Brenda, Betty and Andrea; one nephew, Bradley and 11 grandchildren.
Sybil is predeceased by her parents Thomas and Elizabeth Patey. She will
be sadly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian
Diabetes Association. Visitation was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony.

Passed away after a lengthy illness at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital,
Edna Drudge, age 68 years. Edna Leaves to mourn brothers Clifford (Mary
Theresa)bof St. John's, Patrick of St. Anthony, John (Evangeline) of Goose
Cove, and William of St. Anthony; sisters Anastasia Chaytor (Albert) of
St. John's, Bridget Murrin (John) of Goose Cove and Anne Whiteway (Wayne)
of Grand Prairie, Alberta along with a large number of nieces, nephews,
and close friend, Evangeline McGrath of St. John's. Visitation was held
at the funeral home in St. Anthony. The funeral took place at the Immaculate
Conception Church in Goose Cove at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10, followed
by interment in the church cemetery with father Jim Robertson officiating.

Passed away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Nov.
12, 2009, Mr. Barton Henry Penney in his 75th year. He was born
to Annie and George Penney in Georges Cove July 8, 1933. He went on to
marry Wallie Agatha Penney on April 4, 1955. They leave to mourn their
ten childern, Clifton (Velma), Edward, Ivan (Doreen), Phyllis (Harold),
Sheila (Samuel), Dianne, Elieen (William), Scott, Bernice, and Barry (Dina),
also three grandchildren Michael, Alyson and Colby. Visitation was held
at the Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in Port Hope Simpson from where the
service took place at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 16, with Pastor E. Gillett
officiating. The burial followed in the Port Hope Simpson Pentecostal Cemetery.

and 48 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas
Randell, whom she married on Aug. 28 in 1930. Visitation took place at

Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on
Nov. 18, 2009 Lindy A. Hillier of Griquet, in his 61st year. Lindy is survived by his mother Minnie; his children Jim (Idella),
Belinda (Kurry) and Peggy (Glen); his brothers Scott, Wilson, Bill, Donald,
Elvis and Ernest; his sisters Hope, Joy, Wavey, Glenda, Wally and Pamela;
grandchildren Angela, Robyn, Jessica, Dylan and Caleb, as well as a large
circle of other family and friends. The family would like to express there
sincere appreciation to all those who sent cards, food, and words of kindness.
As a family we would especially like to thank Dr. Beveridge for the compassion
he showed while providing such excellent care to Lindy. We are also very

his professionalism, attention to detail, and willingness to fulfill our

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ed John Flynn announce
his passing at the family residence in Forteau on Nov. 20, 2009 at
the age of 82 years. He went to be with his Lord and Saviour whom he loved
and served for 50 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories wife Charlotte;
children Melvin (Ruth), Doug (Melita), David (Miriam), Ivan, Gideon (Kim),
and Shirley Normore (Mike); 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren,
as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased
by his parents John and Alexandra Flynn, and his brother Thomas. Visitors
were received at the English Point Gospel Hall on Saturday and Sunday from
where the funeral took place on Monday, Nov. 23, at 11 a.m. with Mr. David
Hunt officiating. Interment followed in the Church Cemetery in Forteau.

Passed away at Victoria General Hospital in Halifax on Nov. 27,
2009, Philip Coates. Philip was born March 17, 1922 at Eddies
Cove East to Philip and Susanna Coates. He married Rita Warren of Cook's
Harbour on Nov. 24, 1947. He is survived by his children Wavey Bevan of
Halifax, Nova Scotia, Gloria Mah and Dean Coates of Saint John, New Brunswick,
nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation took place
at the KM. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony. The service took place
at the Kingdom Hall at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2 followed by interment
on the morning of the 3rd in the Cook's Harbour Jehovahs Witness Cemetery.

number of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by sisters Evelyn,
