Red Bay
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Greta Moores announce
her passing at the family residence in Red Bay on Nov. 3, 2008 at the
age of 83 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories Robert (Loretta),
Gertie (Melvin), Cliff (Josie), Wesley (Margaret), Calvin (Arlene), Barbara
(Frank), Lydia (Bill), and Bruce (Dorothy); and 18 grandchildren and
10 great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of other relatives
and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Clifford and son Harvey.
Visitors were received at the Red Bay United Church on Tuesday and Wednesday
from where the funeral service took place on Thursday Nov. 6, 2008 at
2 p.m. with Rev. Dean Sellars officiating. Interment followed at the
church cemetary in Red Bay. As expressions of sympathy flowers were graciously
accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home,
L’Anse au Loup.

Passed away at the John M. Gray Centre on Nov. 5, 2008,
Rendell Genge age 80 years. Leaving to mourn wife Mabel; daughters Joy (Michael), and
Una; son Jock (Dale); grandchildren Christopher and Danielle; sisters
Olga and Olive (Jim); brothers in-law Curtis (Shirley), Bob, Cyril and
Earl. He was predeceased by parents Eva and Charles, son Floyd, sisters
Rosanna and Augustine, brothers Isaac, George, Harrison and Angus. Visitation
was held at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church Anchor Point from where the
funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday Nov. 7, with Rev. Bruce
Graham officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral

Passed peacefully away at the O’Connell Centre, Corner Brook, on Nov.
7, 2008, with his son Bobby at his side, Samuel Herbert
Hatcher in his
91st year. He was the last surviving child of Samuel and
Catherine Hatcher. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his
wife Sarah Hatcher; children Clifton (Georgia), of Shelbourne, Ontario,
David (Anita) of Georgetown, Ontario, Robert (Susanna) of Winterhouse
Brook Bonne Bay, Wayne (Juanita) of Halifax, May (Pat) Power of Texas,
USA, and Owen of Brampton, grandchildren Glenda Hillier, Janet Brake
(Bliss), Jackie Johnson (Jeff), Cindy Hatcher, Leeanna Kaulback (John),
Shari Lyons (Peter), Christina Landry (Robert), Michelle, Donald Power,
Gregory Power and Sarah Power; great-grandchildren Charla Brake, Jade
Hillier, Abbey Johnson, Halley Johnson, Julianna Kaulback, Tristan Lyons,
Brenna Lyons, Kiera Lyons, Gracie Landry, and Amy Landry; sisters-in-law
Bessie Hatcher of Stephenville, Emmie Hatcher of St. John’s, Margaret
Hatcher of Stephenville, and Ethel Deering of Freshwater Carbonear, brother-in-law
Jim (Mable)Parsons of Freshwater Carbonear. He was predeceased by his
son Donald. Mr. Hatcher served as a Sargent Of Arms on the 59th Heavy
Artillery Regiment in WWII. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion
Branch 45 at Woody Point and served as President of that Branch from
1979 - 1983, 1993 - 1995 and 1996 - 2000. He also served as Mayor of
the Community of Woody Point from 1969 - 1972. He was very active in
his community and will certainly be missed. Visitation took place at
the Anglican Church of the Epiphany, Woody Point on Monday and Tuesday
from where the funeral service was held on Wednesday, Nov. 12th at
2 p.m., with Canon John Olsson officiating. Interment followed at the
church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted
or a donation may be made to a charity of one’s choice. The family guest

Winnie Gladys Bonnell, passed peacefully away in her private

year. Left with

Verna (Ronald), Alton (Eileen) and Gladys (James); grandchildren Blenda
(Barry), Meanie (Bill), Janice, Lonnie (Millie), Nadine (Jeff), Sherry
(Chris), Vanessa (Troy), Patricia (Damien), Dalan Lorenzo, James (Carol),
Winnie (Darcy), and Jackie, great-grandchildren Travis, Neil, Chandler,
Miguel, Jonah, Noah, Sydney, Daniel, Hannah, Kaylie, Jayden, William,
Rebeca, Luke, William, Ben, Mckenna, and Mika, as well as a wide circle
of friends. She was predeceased by her parents Daniel and Annie, husband
Lorenze as well as Lonnie Boyde, William, and Winnie. Visitation took
place at St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove, from where the
funeral took place at 2 p.m. on Monday Nov. 10, officiated by Rev. Kris
Gosse, followed by interment in the Black Duck Cove Anglican Cemetery.

Passed away at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders on
Sunday Nov. 9, 2008, Hazel Pricilla Wentzell in her
84th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her children
Douglas Wentzell (Effie) of Portland Creek, Marion Davis (Peter) of Happy
Valley, Goose Bay, Mildred Lavers (Maccavoy) of Port Saunders, and Jocelyn
Wentzell of Portland Creek; her grandchildren; David, Terry, Neil, Sandra
(Ritchie), Linda, Bruce, Brian, Mitchell (Kari), and special grandson
Michael; her great-grandchildren Trent, Ryan, Andrea, Andrew, Amy, special
great-granddaughter Tamara, and Eve, Taylor, and Logan, as well as a
number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and her extended family
and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Rendell Wentzell and
her parents James and Lydia Etheridge. The family received family and
friends from St. Joseph’s Anglican Church in Portland Creek on Tuesday,
Nov. 11, from where the funeral service took place, on Wednesday Nov.
12, at 2 p.m. with the very Rev. Lorne Gosse, officiating with the burial

Passed away on November 10, 2008. Mr. Garfield Genge at the age of 77
years. He leaves with a lifetime of memories his wife Aurelia, brothers
William (Hazel), Cosmo (Marion), Israel (Flick) (Clara), Henry (Alva),
and Harris (Barbara), sisters Polly Whalen, Julie White, and Ellen
(Ross) Whalen and their families. Other family members, Dulcie Genge,
Mary Ann and Wilbert Forsey, Dorcas and Ches Smith, Matt and Eileen
Chambers, Wilson and Luise Chambers, Aurelia and Garfield Gould, Jake
and Julia Chambers and a very large circle of other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held at St. Barnabas Anglican Church in Flowers Cove,
from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on the 11 of November,
with Rev. Cannon Jean Brenton Hickman officiating. Interment followed

MUGFORD, Clayton Thomas
Surrounded by his family, Dad went home to be with the Lord on Nov.
18,
at 9:49 a.m. in his 84th year. Dad’s legacy is continued through his
wife and best friend of 60 years, Ella Rose Saunders; his children
Wally (Sandi), Joyce Gauthier (Bert), Al, Clayton (Kathy), Sandra (Darren),
Sharon (Rene), Terry (Julie), Marcia Albrecht (Warner), Goldie Minnis
(Mike), Alma Claxton (Al), Randy (Donna), and Rocky (Kelly). He is
a cherished poppy and great-grampie of 33 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren;
loving uncle of many nieces and nephews. Dad is predeceased by his
grandson Tyson (1981), his parents William and Rachel Mugford and his
sisters Marcia, and Alma, brothers Joe, Abraham, Roy, Howard, Wallace,
Arthur, Abel, and Bill. Dad was born on Sept. 21, 1925 in Clarke’s
Beach, Newfoundland. He married and raised his family in Main Brook,
Newfoundland, until 1977. Dad moved with his family to Guelph, Ontario.
Although his heart was still in Newfoundland, Dad dedicated his life
to our family and hard work. The family received friends at the Gilbert
MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home-HART CHAPEL, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph,
Ontario on Thursday, Nov. 20. Funeral Service took place at the family
funeral home Dods and McNair Funeral Home and Chapel, 21 First St.,
Orangeville on Friday, Nov. 21, at 12 noon. Interment took place at
Woodlawn Cemetery, Guelph beside his grandson Tyson (1981). As expressions
of sympathy donations to the Sick Kids Hospital would be appreciated

(Tanya), daughters Shirley, Marina (Rick), Flora (Will), and Yvonne (Eugene);
