GAULTON, TIMOTHY
Flowers Cove

Passed away on Nov. 4, 2007, Timothy Gaulton, age 89 years. Leaving to mourn wife Rebecca; daughter Abigail (Rendell Diamond); son Val (Ruby); grandchildren Darius (Sharon) Diamond, Judy (Melvin) Whalen, Hank (Nancy) Diamond, Kimberley (Simon) Butcher and Rennie Diamond; great-grandchildren Matthew Diamond, Crystal Matchim, Ross Whalen, Chole Diamond and Sara Diamond, as well as a circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by parents John and Abigail Diamond, sons Douglas and Joseph, grandsons Gaius Diamond and Absalom Diamond. Visitation took place the United Church in Flowers Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7 with Ms. Joan Brinston, LPM officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lavinia Caines Fillatre and Danielle Galgay, funeral directors.

GEAR, WILLIAM (BILLY) SYDNEY
Also known as 2nd Gear
Jan. 12, 1938 – Nov. 5, 2007

Passed away at home on Nov. 5, 2007, William (Billy) Sydney Gear, age 69 years. Leaving with a lifetime of memories wife Beatrice; daughters Jody, Patty (Dereck), Sherry (Todd), Bobbi (Pierre) and Kathy (Chris); son Scott (Audrey); brothers Stanley, Wilson and Tony; sisters Sylvia, Dorothy, Irene and Joyce; grandchildren Robert, Stephen, Danielle, Christopher, Lincoln, Robin, Shalyn and Patrick; aunt Jane Canning, and a circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents James and Harriet and siblings Hazel, Marg, Edward and John. Visitation took place at K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony with Rev. Jean Brenton-Hickman officiating. The funeral service took place at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Anglican Church in St. Anthony on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

GENGE, JOYCE (COOMBS)
Anchor Point

Passed away on Nov. 5, 2007, Joyce Genge, age 93 years. Leaving to mourn husband Cyril Genge Sr.; children Virginia (George), Josie (Abraham), Jessie (Roland), Albert (Martha Jane), Eileen (Steve) and Noah (Maria); daughter-in-law Merina; sisters-in-law Ida Coombs and Agnes Genge; brother-in-law Albert Genge; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren, as well as a circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by parents Samuel and Virginia Coombs, brothers Samuel (Evangeline), Abraham (Bridget), John (Leya), Stuart, Absalom and Noah, sisters Bertha (William), Alma (George), Effie (Israel) and Josie. Visitation took place at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Anchor Point from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8 with Rev. Gerald Colbourne officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Levinia Caines Fillatre and Danielle Galgay, funeral directors.

CULL, VALETTA MAY (PILGRIM)
St. Anthony

Passed away on Nov. 9, 2007, Valetta Cull, age 89 years. Left with fond and loving memories daughter Millicent (Loomis) Fowler; son Donald (Miriam); grandchildren Rodger (Donna) Fowler, Dwayne (Patsy) Cull, Randy (Mary Ellen) Cull and Todd (Jeannie) Fowler; great-grandchildren Donny, Kelly, Michael, Michelle, Ryan, Sarah, Amanda and Stevon; sister Maizie Simms; brother George (Margaret) Pilgrim; sister-in-law Jemima Pilgrim, as well as a circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Reuben Cull, grandson Glen Fowler, great-grandson Darren Cull, parents Bramwell and Lucy Pilgrim, brothers Spurgeon and Donald Pilgrim and sister Florrie Richards. Visitation took place at K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11 at the United Church in St. Anthony with Rev. McGonigle officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director. A sincere thank you to all who have supported the family during this time and special thanks to the staff of John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony. Your kindness and thoughtfulness will always be remembered. May God bless you all.

FLYNN, ANN MARY
Croque

Passed peacefully away on Nov. 9, 2007, Ann Flynn of Croque, age 78 years. Leaving to mourn husband Cyril; sons Tony (Alice) of Conche, Brian of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Gerry (Betty) of Croque, Patrick (Lori) of Fort McMurray and Ronald (Anne) of Croque; daughters Catherine Pelley (Wade) of Main Brook, Joan Hurley (Gerard) of Croque and Danita Wiseman (David) of Espanola, Ontario; brother Clifford Carroll of Conche; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by parents Patrick and Catherine Carroll, brothers Daniel, Bernard and Vincent, sisters Bridget, Minnie and Anthonia. Visitation took place at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Croque from where the funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13 with Fr. Devas officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, Roddickton and St. Anthony, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

COMPTON, ROBERT
Stephenville

Passed away at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Nov. 19, 2007, Robert Compton of Stephenville, formerly of Englee, age 52 years. Left to rejoice in the memory of Robert’s life are wife Sharon; daughters Robin and Jenny; parents Allen and Olive Compton; brother Clyde (Delores) Compton; sisters Joan (Tony) Easton, Yvonne Compton (Angelo), Bernice (Edmund) Toope, Jean (Harold) Schummer, Lesa (James) Ferguson and Connie Compton (Jeff); mother-in-law Theresa Matchim; father-in-law Gerald Compton (Masie); brothers-in-law Brad (Lorraine) Coombs and Blaine Coombs, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation took place at the Salvation Army Church in Englee from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22 with Capts. Anthony Stokes and Beverley Dart-Stokes officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Russell’s Funeral Home in Stephenville and K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

HOUSE, RANDELL ISAAC
Port Saunders

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Randell House announces his passing on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007 at his family residence in Port Saunders at the age of 62 years. He leaves to mourn his partner Darlene; children Stephan (Roxanne), Tim (Tara), Leah (Dave) and Chelsea; grandchildren Tyler, Cheyanne, Justin and Natasha; mother Helen; sisters Marion (Derek) Hicks of Corner Brook, Christine (Bill) Greene of Port Saunders and Pamela (Dwayne) Coish of Lewisporte; brothers Sandy (Amy), Cameron (Alma) and Warren (Elaine); mother-in-law Selina; sister-in-law Regina, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Clan, brother Jeffery and father-in-law John Critchley. The family received friends at St. John the Divine Anglican Church on Sunday and Monday from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27 with Rev. Tanya White officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Sandy Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix.

NEWMAN, JULIE REBECCA
Englee

Passed away on Nov. 26, 2007, Julie Newman of Englee, age 89 years. Leaving to mourn Violet Marie Hillier, Frances Cavelle Southwick and Barry David Newman (Cindy); four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, as well as a circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by husband Wilfred and sons Cecil and Banfield. Visitation took place at the Pentecostal Church in Englee from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29 with Pastors Willie and Myrtle Angell officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

HILLIER, ERIC S.
Goose Cove

Passed away on Nov. 28, 2007, Eric Hillier, age 71 years. Leaving to mourn sons Aiden (Marina), Philip (Beth) and Barry (Angela); daughter Debbie; grandchildren Michael, Matthew (Tara), Mandy, Megan and Jake; special friend Nellie Fitzpatrick; brothers Melvin (Audrey), Gerald (Edna), Allen (Julie) and Bruce (Edna); sisters Dulcie Powell, Ivy Rideout, Audrey Bartlett and sister-in-law Blanche Strickland, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by wife Marie (Sexton) Hillier, parents Thomas and Gladys, brothers Malcolm and Ernest, sisters Blanche and Bertha. Visitation took place at K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony. The funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 3 at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Goose Cove with Fr. Camacho officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
