Passed away on Nov. 4, 2006, Gordon Hedderson, age 81 years. Leaving to mourn children Neta (Eric), Ernest (Netta), Evangeline (Herbert), Eugene (Laurie), Pearce (Judy), Bronston (Teena), Newell (Selma), Zona (Winston), Sheila (Ralph), Carolyn (John), Lydia (Christopher) and Linda (John); 30 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; sisters Mable and Millie, along with a huge number of cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews and a world full of friends. He was predeceased by his wife Alma. Visitation took place at Central United Church in Straitsview from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17 with Rev. Pendleton officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

PATEY, Nina Irene (Bussey)
Great Brehat

Passed away on Nov. 8, 2006, Nina Patey of Great Brehat, age 78 years. Leaving to mourn daughters Betty (Roy) Taylor, Jean (Gord) Hunter, Judy (Cliff) Noble and Gloria (Kevin) Eddison; grandchildren Trina (Bradley) Roberts, Pamela (Dameon) Bromley, Chantel Eddison and Christopher Eddison; brothers Charles (Lonney) Donald, David (Fern) and Fred (Louise); sisters Mable Mayo, Ada Pynn, June Mullet and Betty Bussey; sisters and brothers-in-law Julia Newman (Ben), Shirley Hurley, Floyd Patey (Pearl) and Joe; nieces and nephews, as well as a circle of other family and friends. Visitation took place at the Salvation Army Church in St. Anthony from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11 with Capt. Janes officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery in Great Brehat. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

CULL, William Henry
St. Anthony

Passed away on Nov. 8, 2006, William Henry Cull, age 87 years. Leaving to mourn children Fred (Vickie), Roy (Louise), Eric (Leona), Everett (Violet), Wilfred (Ann), Elizabeth Penney (Loomis) and Mary (Hazen); 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters Olive Simms, Hellen Anderson (Job) and Florie Keats; brother Walter Cull (Delina); brother-in-law Victor Noble (Bertha); sisters-in-law Vera Richards (David), Doris Scott and Bertha Noble. He was predeceased by his wife Eunice. Visitation took place at Bethel Pentecostal Church in St. Anthony from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10 with Pastor Joy officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

FOWLER, William David Russell
St. Anthony

Passed away on Nov. 9, 2006, William Fowler, age 71 years. Bill is survived by his wife Eva; son Lorne (Donna); grandsons Justin and Jeffrey; mother Susie; brother Loomis (Millicent); nephews Roger (Donna), Todd (Jeannie and Kirby Pike; many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his son Gerry, father Quincy and sister Roslyn. Visitation took place at K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12 at the United Church in St. Anthony with Rev. McGonigle officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

TOOPE (Sr.), James
Plum Point

Passed away on Nov. 11, 2006, James Toope, age 78 years. Left with fond memories his wife Jane; children Minnie (Wyman) Mitchelmore, Rachel (Stephen) Williams, Judy (Thomas) Caines, Roy (Rhonda) Toope, Andrew (Florence) Toope, Eileen (Sterling) Wells, Reginald (Kathy) Toope, Beulah (Joseph) Pittman, Dorcas (Daniel) Scanlon, James (Yvonne) Toope and Jackie (Derek) Caines; 31 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother Primus and sister Minnie Toope. Visitation was held at the Anglican Church in Plum Point from where the funeral service was held on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006 with Rev. Heidel officiating. Interment followed at the community cemetery in Pond Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

PILGRIM, Leonard Winston
St. Lunaire-Griquet

Passed away on Nov. 15, 2006, Leonard Pilgrim, age 86 years. Leaving to mourn sons Donald (Gail), Frank (Helen) and Ted (Phyllis); daughter-in-law Mildred; daughters Lillian (Wilfred) and Iris (Barry); 23 grandchildren; a large number of great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Vera and sons Junior and Vernon. Visitation was held at Calvary Pentecostal Church in St. Luniare-Griquet from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18 with Pastor Primmer officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

DAVIS, Margaret (Dempster)
English Point

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Margaret Davis announces her passing at the Long Term Care Unit in Forteau on Nov. 16, 2006 at the age of 82 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories husband Wilfred Davis; children Mabel Buckle (Gideon), Sybil Linstead (Gilbert) and Vivian Normore (Urias); grandchildren Wavey, Kay, Jeinean, Morley and Marius; great-grandchildren Isaiah, Olivia, Jordan and Caleb; brother Wallace Dempster (Ellen); sisters-in-law Elizabeth and Annie Dempster, Mabel Oxford (Norval) and Evelyn Casey; brother-in-law Cecil Davis (Rita), as well as a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Richard and Maud Dempster and brothers Dudley and Baxter Dempster. Visitation took place at the English Point Gospel Hall on Thursday and Friday from where the funeral service took place on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. with Mr. Francis Barney and Mr. Edward Barney officiating. Interment followed in the Gospel Hall cemetery in Forteau. As expressions of sympathy flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, L’Anse au Loup.

DAVIS, Leo Francis
Roddickton/Croque

Passed away on Nov. 19, 2006, Leo Francis Davis, age 79 years. Leo is survived by one brother Billy; caregivers Tony and Ivy Kearney and family, and a circle of very special friends. Visitation was held at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Croque from where the funeral service was held on Wednesday, Nov. 22. Interment followed at the community cemetery in Croque. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

APPLIN, Joseph George
Shoal Cove West

Passed away on Nov. 20, 2006, Joseph Applin, age 84 years. Leaving to mourn sisters Christianna Coombs, Ida Coombs, Mary Ann Baines, Lillian (Lawrence) Beaudoin and Angeline Hynes; brother Thomas (Seamone) Applin, as well as a circle of other family and friends. Visitation took place at St. Margaret of Scotland Church in Reef’s Harbour from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22 with Rev. Heidel officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

RANDELL, Garland
Englee

Passed away on Nov. 21, 2006, Garland Randell of Englee, age 67 years. Leaving to mourn wife Ruth; daughter Kathleen; sons Wallace, Dwayne, Perry and Paul; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brothers Clayton, Heber, Leander and Whycliff; sisters Jemina, Phyllis, Frances, Peggy, Evelyn and Betty, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation took place at Apostolic Faith Church in Englee from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24 with Pastor Burton officiating. Passed away on Nov. 22, 2006, Norman Patey, age 67 years. Leaving to mourn sons Garland and Eric; daughter Justine (Jame) Howkins; grandchildren Miguel and Kelsey; brothers Steward (Ida) and Francis (Agnes); sister-in-law Marie and a large circle of other relatives and friends. COLBOURNE, Hurbert Leslie
St. Anthony

Passed away Nov. 25, 2006, Hubert Colbourne, age 81 years. Leaving to mourn wife Winnie; children Marion (Mike), Bruce (Eileen), Cecil (Sandra), Ernest (Sharon), Ruby, Perry (Pamela), Hazel (Gary), Ross (Andrea) and Scott (Jodean); 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister Ruth; special friends George Ward and Ambrose Curl; step-daughter Corrine (Wade), and step-grandson Eugene. He was predeceased by his wife Nina, son Garland and granddaughter Adrienne. Visitation took place at K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at the United Church in St. Anthony with Rev. McGonigle officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. BURKE, Clarence Michael
Flowers Cove

Passed away suddenly in Edmonton, Clarence Burke, age 41 years. Left with fond and loving memories his mother Mary Alice Burke; three brothers and six sisters, Pius, Terry, Patrick, Vernice, Eileen, Julia, Annette, Agnes and Maria; brothers and sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews, and numerous friends. He was predeceased by his father Patrick, brother Terrance, sister Anne and his close buddy Ryan Penny. Visitation took place at the United Church in Flowers Cove. The funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25 at Canon Richards High School in Flowers Cove with Fr. Poblete officiating. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Nameless Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Canadian Alternatives Cremation and Burial Service, Edmonton, and K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

HILLIER, Stuart
St. Anthony

Passed away on Nov. 27, 2006, Stuart Hillier, age 77 years. Left with fond and loving memories his daughter Hilda (Keith) Best; step-grandchildren Beverly and Brenda; sister Ruby Burton and foster family - the Sulleys. He was predeceased by his wife Mabel, daughter Jessie, brothers Lester and Clifford, and foster sister May Baikie. Visitation took place at K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony. The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30 at St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church in St. Anthony with Rev. Canon Brenton-Hickman officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
