O'DELL, CAROLINE
Pinware

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Caroline O'Dell announce her passing at Labrador South Health Centre on Nov. 1, 2005 at the age of 84 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are children Dorothy Tracey, William, Lucy Pike (Peter), Mederick (Gloria), Edward, Elizabeth Barney (Douglas), Julia Barney (Lewis), Ruby Buckle (Edward), Fredrick, Annette Rumbolt (Stanley) and Evelyn Hillyard (Gary); 34 grandchildren; 37 great- grandchildren, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Edward O'Dell on Dec. 14, 1989. Visitors were received at the Church Chapel in West St. Modeste on Tuesday and Wednesday from where the funeral service was held on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Tim Moriarity officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery in Pinware. As Expressions of sympathy flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, L'Anse au Loup.

DAHLBERG, ROBERT
Main Brook

Passed away on Nov. 2, 2005 at Curtis Memorial Hospital, Robert Dahlberg of Main Brook in his 76th year. He leaves to mourn his wife Mary and a large circle of friends. Visitation took place at the United Church in Main Brook from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4 with Capt. Hopkins officiating. Interment followed in the Salvation Army cemetery. Flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

BROWN, SIMON GREAVETT
Cow Head
Feb. 11, 1929 - Nov. 6, 2005

It is with great sadness that the family of the Simon Brown announce his passing on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005 at his family residence in Cow Head at the age of 76 years. He will be sadly missed be his loving wife Claudine; his children Greavett (Beatrice), Juanita (Jim) and Seymour; grandchildren Deon, Jeffrey (Joyce), Jamie (Vanessa), Stacey (Candace), Trent, Justin, Cole. Jasmine, Damion, Selina, Breanna and Braden; sisters Mae (Aubrey) and Rosie (Melvin), brother Edgar (Ura); brother-in-law Carl, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Martha, father Archibald, grandson Blair and sister Annie. Visitation took place at St. Mary's Anglican Church in Cow Head from where the funeral service was held on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. with Rev. James Pratt officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Church Cemetery. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website at www.fillatre.ca     Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Deer Lake.

Hill, Gary Gurvin
Passed peacefully away at the L.A. Miller Centre on Thursday, Nov. 10th, 2005, age 38 years. He was predeceased by his grandfathers Ernest Hill and Josiah Noseworthy. He leaves to mourn daughter Bonnie; parents Joe and Eliza Hill; sisters Connie (Andre), Bonnie (Tony) and Margie (Frank); brother Joey; grandmothers Rita Hill and Nora Noseworthy; his special niece Jennifer and Bonnie's mother Dorothy, and many nieces, nephews, family and friends in St. John's and St Anthony. Visitation took place at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Friday. The funeral service was held on Saturday, Nov. 12th, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Caul's Chapel. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.

WHALEN, ISRAEL (FLICKY)
Flowers Cove
April 3, 1944 - Nov. 12, 2005

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Israel (Flicky) Whalen announce his passing on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 61 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving Mom Polly; his sister Hazareth (Jock) Gardiner; brother Nelson (Emily); nieces Millie, Anna and Lisa; nephews David, Michael and Nelson Jr., as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Adolphus and nephew Dolphie. Visitation took place at St. Barnabas Anglican Church in Flowers Cove on Sunday and Monday from where the funeral service was held on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Tanya White officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Church Cemetery in Flowers Cove. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website at www.fillatre.ca    Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix/ Bear Cove.

LAVERS, MARY MARLENE
Port Saunders

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Lavers announce her passing on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 50 years. Leaving to mourn her husband Tyrone; children Corey (Lisa) Holloway of Ottawa, Ontario, Barry (Stephanie) Holloway of Cold Lake, Alberta, and Tyler of Port Saunders; granddaughter Kasandra; father Stanley (wife Jenny); brothers Rene (Darlene) Genneaux of Brig Bay, Neil (Roxanne) Genneaux of Fort McMurray, Garland Patey and Allen Lavers of Corner Brook, and Joseph (Gloria) Lavers of Halifax; sisters Maureen Genneaux of Fort McMurray, Nina (Paul) Butt, Bonnie (Dick) Cluett and Frances Lavers (Terry Cramm) of Corner Brook, and Michelle (Rob) Reid of Ontario, as well as a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her mother Shirley Genneaux and niece Catherine Butt. The family received friends at St. Joseph's roman Catholic Church in Port Saunders on Wednesday and Thursday from where the funeral service took place on Friday, Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. with Fr. Roger officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery in Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.

MAHAR, CHRISTOPHER J.
Bird Cove

Passed away on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, Christopher Mahar of Bird Cove, age 62 years. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Betty; sons Desmond, Dermot (Jessie) and Gorvin; brother Mike (Neila); sisters Agnes (the late John Kennedy), Isabel (Mark Kennedy) and Catherine (Jacob Toupe), as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Catherine and Michael, sisters Josephine, Mary Ann and Evangeline, brothers Christopher, William, Patrick, Peter and William and brother-in-law Luke Caines. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

DEMPSEY, GARRETT JOSEPH
Passed peacefully away at the Leonard Miller Palliative Care Center on Nov. 20, 2005, Garrett Joseph Dempsey, formerly of Canada Harbour, was in his 93rd year. He was predeceased by: His wife, Josephine; one brother, William; two sons, William and Daniel Mark; and one daughter, Mary. He leaves to mourn one brother, Patrick, who resides in England; two sisters, Gertrude in Ontario and Adele in St. John's ; three sons, Douglas in Ontario, Raymond (Wendy) in Nova Scotia , and Daniel Darcie (Margaret) in Ontario; four daughters, Eileen (Clarke) in Florida , Sheila (Tom) in Pouch Cove, Evangeline (Douglas) in Whitbourne and Ethel in St John's . He also leaves to mourn 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Garrett raised his family in Canada Harbour where he fished for a living. He and his wife, Josephine, moved to St. John's in 1970, where she died in 1975. Funeral mass was celebrated Garrett Joseph by Monsignor Edward Bromley at St. Teresa's Parish Church , Nov. 22. GREEN, UNA
Port Hope Simpson

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Una Green announce her passing at Labrador South Health Centre on Nov. 25, 2005 at the age of 74 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are children Jessie Coish (Ivan), Mary Turnbull (Ralph), Lloyd, Reginald (Joy), Iris Turnbull (Sam) and Blanche Earle (Wade); 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Wilson Green, Feb. 6, 2001. Visitation took place at the Pentecostal Church in Port Hope Simpson on Friday and Saturday from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27 with Pastor Calvin Keppenhuck and Rev. Mark Nichols officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Church Cemetery in Port Hope Simpson. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, L'Anse au Loup.

WHITE, MARIA JANE
Sandy Cove
April 2, 1925 - Nov. 25, 2005

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Maria Jane White announce her passing on Friday, Nov. 25, 2005 at John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony at the age of 80 years in the presence of her loving family. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Steward; daughters Elizabeth (Charlie), Joyce (Gaydon) and Clara (Bob); sons Stanley Jr. (Mona) and Donald (Agnes); daughter-in-law Sue; grandchildren Julie (Wayne), Joan (Kirby), Junior (Tamara), Janet, Ricky (Collette), Joanne (Dan), Justin, Jamie, Renee and Jennifer; great- grandchildren Gabby, Willie, Lucas, Kaitlyn, Nicky and Rebekah; brother Freeman (Laurie), sisters Lousia (John), Gladys (Maxwell) and Sarah; sisters-in-law Clarissa, Selina and Augustine; brother-in-law Stanley (Rosalind), special family Dulcie, Jimmy (Belinda), as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by son Clifford White, parents Stephen and Clara, brothers and sister Raymond, Theophilus, Algernon, Porter, Isaac, Harrison, Stephen and Irene. Visitation took place at St. Thomas Anglican Church in Sandy Cove on Saturday and Sunday from where the funeral service was held on Monday, Nov. 28 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Diane Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Church Cemetery in Savage Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix/Bear Cove.

BIGGIN, EUNICE FLORA
Daniel's Harbour

Passed away on Friday, November 25th, 2005 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook, Eunice Biggin, at the age of 66 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Harold; children, Juanita Robinson (Ray), Daniel's Harbour, Morgan (Darlene) Biggin, Cowbay, Nova Scotia, Kirk (Marilyn) Biggin, Daniel's Harbour and Paula Hancock (John), Forteau; grandchildren Jamie (Maisie) Robinson, Sherra Lee Robinson (Glen), Beverly and Danielle Biggin, and Lance and Lucas Hancock; sisters, Alfreda Anderson, Belinda (John) Powers, Hughena Blanchard (Dave), Elizabeth (Doug) Keough, Enos Blanchard (Evelyn), Melvin Blanchard and Richard Blanchard; mother-in-law Marion Biggin, Woody Point, as well as a large circle of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was predeceased by parents: Wallace and Emily Blanchard, sisters Columbine Upwards, Agnes Blanchard and brothers Tom and William Blanchard. Granting her wishes, cremation took place at Humber Valley Crematorium. A memorial service was held on Sunday, Nov. 27 at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Anglican Church in Daniel's Harbour with Rev. Tanya White officiating. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. St. Anthony

Passed peacefully away at Curtis Memorial Hospital after a long battle with cancer, Garland Lewis Dean in his 81st year. Leaving to mourn his wife Flora; sisters Verna Snyder (Harry) of Reisterstown, MD, Marie Taylor and Olive Elliott of Raleigh; uncle Jim Biles; brother-in-law Doug Penney; children Gerald (Eleanor) of Toronto, Ontario, Shirley Simms (Rick) of Corner Brook, Randy (Lisa), Jim (Jan) of Wallaceburg, Ontario; grandchildren, Trevor (Vanessa), Kim, Kelly (Phil), Vicki, Scott, Victoria, Joey, Mitch, Devin and Dustin; great-grandchildren Cole, Jasmine, Rachelle and Travis; step family- the Howell family - Selma Dutcher (Fred), Guy (Margaret) and Todd (Sandra); grandchildren Blair, Suzanne (Jeff), Krista Lynn, Christopher, Joshua, Jonah, Sarah, Ford and Phoebe; the family of his late wife, Maude Decker of Cook's Harbour, Carrie Harding (Walter), Alf (Jean), Millie, Aubrey (Barbara) Hazes and Melvin (Christine), Wilson (Debbie) and Marjorie, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. He was predeceased by his parents Henry (1979) and Agnes (1977), his first wife Maude (1984), sister Naomi Penney (2001) and brother Luke (2000). The funeral service was held at Bethel Pentecostal Church on Sunday, Nov. 27 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Roger Combdon officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

CHAMBERS, FRANCES LOUISE
Port au Choix
July 16, 1933 - Nov. 27, 2005

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Frances Chambers announce her passing on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005 at her family residence at the age of 72 years. She will be sadly missed by her husband Eli; sons David (Yvette), Myles (Josie) and Lloyd (Jenny); daughters Sherry (Robert) and Doris (George); grandchildren Nicki, Milton, Tobi, Lloyd ,Carolyn, Joshua, Nicholas, Stacy and Sheena; great-grandchildren Sheldon, Ryan and Devon; sister Linda (Melvin), and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, especially her special friend Hilda. She was predeceased by her parents William and Maxine Offrey and sister Harriett Parsons. The family received friends from Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix on Sunday and Monday. The funeral service was held at St. Thomas Beckett Anglican Church in Port au Choix on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tanya White officiating. Interment followed in the Interfaith Cemetery in Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.
