ALLINGHAM, Basil
Passed on: May 24th, 2015
Passed away peacefully at John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on the 24th of May in his 85th year, Mr. Basil John Allingham of St. Anthony. Left to mourn his loss are his loving wife Irene; daughters Dale (Lary), Corrine (Nelson), and Cavell (Ross); sons Don (Sandra), Ron (Gaylene), and Pleman (Darlene); grandchildren Rhonda, Roxanne, Teraceta, Tyrone, Tyler, Jordan, Rosalind, Mitchell, Gavin, Kayla, Latisha, Laura, Brenden, Keegan, and Jaimee; great-grandchildren Kaidence, Lukas, Nickolas, Lillie, Riley, Rodney, Mikayla, Morgan, Shianne, Logan, Hailegh, Mason, Zachary, Isiah and Madison; sisters Laverne, Triffie, June, Alma and Grace; brothers Llew, Stedman, Horace and Edgar as well as many nieces, nephews and friends and special friend Val Parrill. Basil was predeceased by his parents William and Gladys, son Keith, brothers Rex and Tom, and sisters Olive and Drucilla. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Cook's Harbour from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 28 with Rev. Mark Willkoff officiating. Burial followed in the Cook's Harbour Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

COLBOURNE, Ralph Eldred
Passed on: May 27th, 2015

Passed peacefully away on May 27th, 2015 in his 74th year surrounded by his loving family, Mr. Ralph Eldred Colbourne of St. Anthony. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 55 years, Laverne and six children, Glenn (Joan), June (Wade),Yvonne (David), Lawney (David), Todd (Carolyn) and Brad (Sherry); grandchildren Shannon (Karie), Blair, Stefan (Danielle), Rodi (Amanda), Marquita (Ken), and Kurtis (Robyn); two special foster children, Justin and Sherry-Lynn, and one great-grandchild Riley; sister Velma; brother Roy (Judy); sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nephews and nieces and a special buddy, Randy Pittman. He was predeceased by his parents, Roderick and Lucy Colbourne, sisters Hazel and Dorothy, father-in-law and mother-in-law William and Gladys Allingham, and a special aunt Ethel Bussey. Visitation took place at the funeral home in St. Anthony, after which the funeral service was held at St. Anthony United Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 30 with Rev. Dinesh Gomes officiating. Cremation followed with burial on Tuesday, June 2 at 9:30 a.m. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

COLBOURNE, Vera Clara
Passed on: May 27th, 2015

Passed peacefully away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on the 27th day of May, 2015, Mrs. Vera Clara Colbourne of St. Anthony in her 83rd year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her son Larry; three grandchildren Suzanne (Ernie), Mike (Nadia), and Ronnie (Kayla), eight great-grandchildren Samantha, Sarah, Shannon, Mitchell, Preston, Tristen, Brooklyn, and Cohen, and one great-great-grandchild Allie as well as many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Garland, daughter Ivy, parents Caleb and Beatrice Pennell, sisters Lily, Pearl, and Nellie. Visitation was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony followed by the funeral service which was held at the Salvation Army Church on Saturday, May 30 at 2:30 p.m. with Major Dinzel Baggs officiating. Burial took place at the old Salvation Army Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

GOULD, Dennis
Passed on: May 17th, 2015

Taken tragically from this life at the age of 54 years in Devon, Alberta on May 17, 2015, Mr. Dennis Gould of Bear Cove. Left behind with the memories and love of Dennis are his wife Celeste; son Linsey; daughter Jenny (Mark); father Earl (Rose); brother Earl (Rhonda); sisters Chick and Ethel, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. Although he passed at such a young age, Dennis lived to see the passing of his mother Marion. Visitation was held at St. Boniface Anglican Church in Bear Cove from where the funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 22 with Rev. Irving Letto officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

SIMMS, Sterling George
Passed on: May 6th, 2015

Passed away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on the 6th of May, 2015, Mr. Sterling George Simms of St. Anthony in his 77th year. Sterling leaves to mourn his wife Shirley Simms; his sons Terry (Donna), and Morgan (Verla); daughter Sybil (Glenn); grandchildren Christa (Darryl), Jason (Angelina), Kristopher and Shannon; great-grandchildren Karli and Kaeden, as well as his brother Watson (Betty); sisters Mariam Lane (Rex), Barbara Barton (Vincent), Patsy Penney (Leon), and long-time family friend Lorne Slade. Sterling was predeceased by his parents William and Bessie, brother Wellington, sister Carol Good, nephew Kevin Hillier and niece Shenna Barton. Visitation was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony and continued at the Pentecostal Church, from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 10 with Pastor Jeff Bessey officiating. Burial followed the service at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

WILCOX, Katie Lorena
Passed on: May 18th, 2015

Taken from this life in a tragic accident on the 18th of May, 2015, Mrs. Katie Lorena Wilcox of Roddickton, at the young age of 58 years. Left with heavy hearts to mourn her loss are her husband Gideon Wilcox of Roddickton; her mother Maisie Parsons of Roddickton; her daughters Tracy Blanchard (Trent Cassell) in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, Tynette Blanchard (Shawn Pittman), Roddickton, and Tiffany Blanchard (Damian Fifeld) of Mary's Harbour; her son Anthony Wilcox of Roddickton; brothers Perry (Pamela) Parsons, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Darby (Ruby) Parsons of Roddickton, and Gordon (Blanche) Parsons of Thompson, Manitoba; sisters Pamela (Roland) Sherwood, Dryden, Ontario, Doretta Parsons (Nat Patey), St. Anthony, Ruby Parsons (Gary Sparks), Fort Nelson, British Columbia, and Cavell Parsons (Trevor Pilgrim), Kitchener, Ontario. Katie was predeceased by her first husband Barry Blanchard, and father Reuben Parsons. Visitation was held at the Apostolic Faith Church in Roddickton from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 24 with Rev. Christopher Hewlett officiating. Burial followed the service at the Roddickton Apostolic Faith Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.
