DEMPSTER, Donnie
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Donnie Dempster of Nameless Cove, NL, (March 26, 1966 - May 9, 2013) announce his passing on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Charles Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, mom Cicely, dad Donald, sister Shirley and brother-in-law Gord. Visitation took place at the Gospel Hall in Nameless Cove from where the funeral service took place on Sunday, May 12, 2013 with Mr. Wallace Buckle officiating. Interment followed at the Gospel Hall Cemetery, Nameless Cove.

HEDGE, Harvey Clyde
Passed away suddenly on May 9, 2013 at the Health Sciences Centre, Mr. Harvey Clyde Hedge of Pines Cove, NL, in his 66th year. Leaving to mourn with heavy hearts and loving memories his wife of 46 years Judy; children Daphne (Vaughan), Dale (Dwayne), Danette (Ken), and Darrell (Janice); grandchildren Shelby, Allie, Jarrett, Michael, Neil, Liam, Kyle, and Jack; sister Jessie, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Maria, father Silas, brothers Stanley, and Roland, sisters Mariam, and Elda Manette and brother-in-law Gervin. Visitation took place at the St. Andrew's Anglican Church from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 12th with Rev. Marlene Harvey and Maxine Hughes officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Pines Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

LAHEY, Margaret Mary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Margaret Lahey (July 10, 1921 - May 18, 2013) announce her passing on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Bonne Bay Medical Center, Norris Point at the age of 91. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter Gloria Ann (John Kent); son Patrick Joseph (Elizabeth Lahey); grandchildren Michaela Kent (Fred Sheppard), Susan Kent, Michael Lahey (Zoe Dempster), Andrew Lahey, and Stephanie Kent (Matthew Aikens); great-grandchildren Ava Sheppard, Eden Sheppard, Dominic Sheppard and Jack Aikens; her sister Virginia King (Patrick King) and as a member of the Baha'i Community of Canada, many friends throughout the country and the world. She was predeceased by her husband Michael Joseph Lahey, daughters Barbara Ann Lahey, and Donna Marie Lahey, sisters Helen, Margaret, Edna, and Agnes; brothers Michael, Peter, Patrick, Hubert, and Alphonsus. Visitation was held on Monday, May 20 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Norris Point from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from where the funeral service took place on Tuesday, May 21 at 11 a.m. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Norris Point. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. MAHAR, Mary Elizabeth
Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on May 10, 2013, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Mahar of Bird Cove, NL, in her 60th year. Mary leaves behind her children Dermot, Desmond (Vanessa), and Gorvin (Nicole); her grandchildren Riley, Kloe, and Jacklyn; her father Ambrose; brothers and sisters Christopher, Leo (Darlene), Tom, Kevin (Ramona), Angela, Jackie (Austin), and Ambrose. Despite her young age she lived to see the loss of her mother Mary (Kennedy) Mahar, her husband Christopher, her brother Ambrose. Visitation took place at Our Lady of Grace Church in Bird Cove from where the funeral service took place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14 with Fr. Ambrose Hynes officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

McCARTHY, Laura Annie
Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Centre on May 25, 2013, Mrs. Laura Annie McCarthy of Goose Cove, NL, in her 87th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories sons Ron (Lynn), Jerome (Agnes), and John (Eileen); daughters Annie McDonald (Kevin), and Alice Parsons (Stephen); grandchildren Ronnie, Craig (Michelle), Tina (Fouad), Patricia (Shane), Sarah (Chad), Troy (Natasha), Jordan (Chrisoula), Christine, Tyson, Blair (Natalie), Curtis (Megan), Daniel, and Rebecca; great-grandchildren Joshua, Brianna, Brooke, Blake, and Rania; stepsister Mary Powell (Hedley), as well as a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Leonard, mother Annie Dempsey, stepfather Peter Dempsey, stepbrother Vergus Dempsey, cousin Mary Bromley, aunt Alice Sexton, special nephew Gary Hunt. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony from where the funeral mass took place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29 with Fr. Anthony Nwaohiri officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

NICHOLAS, Jean
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jean Nicholas, born June 15, 1955 in St. Anthony, NL, announce her sudden passing on May 31, 2013 in a tragic vehicle accident. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her spouse Chris; her son Nicholas (Renée); sister Colleen (Manuel); brother David (Claudine); father Albert, and her nephew Christopher (Amy). Also in mourning is a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her mother Lillian. She touched the lives of many and she will be dearly missed. Visitation took place Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony. The funeral service took place at St. Mary's Anglican Church at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4 with Fr. Rev. Paul Findaly officiating followed by burial in the St. Anthony Anglican Cemetery. Funeral services were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

ROBERTS, Ford
Passed away suddenly on May 23, 2013 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, Mr. Ford E. Roberts of St. Anthony, NL, in his 72nd year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Goldie; children Judy (Tim) and Tim (Bev); grandchildren Alex and Jett; mother Una; sister Margaret (Charles); stepdaughter Wendy, Brent and family; special uncle Preston (Tammy) and Joy (Rick) as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his father Walter. Visitation took place at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 27 with Majors Dinzel and Kathleen Baggs officiating followed by cremation. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

TAYLOR, Harvey Edmond
Passed away peacefully on May 9, 2013 at the Health Sciences Centre, Mr. Harvey Taylor of Raleigh, NL, in his 73rd year. He leaves to mourn with a lifetime of fond and loving memories his wife of 50 years Selma; daughters Ruby (Morgan), Brenda (Jon), and Angela; son Ivan (Zonya); grandchildren Sheri-Lynn, Matthew, Curtis, Chelsea, and Kelcie; great-grandchildren Kobe and Kylie; brothers Abiel and Norman; sisters Bertha, Lucy, and Drucey; sisters-in-law Viola, Ivy, and Sharon; brothers-in-law Louden and George, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his son Vernon, father and mother Llewelyn and Emily Taylor, brothers Hector and Willie, sister-in-law Flossie, brother-in-law Reuben. Visitation was held at the United Church in Raleigh from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 12 with Rev. Gus Pendleton officiating. Interment followed at the New United Church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

WOODWARD, Garfield
Passed peaceful away on May 9, 2013 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, Mr. Garfield Woodward of Boat Harbour, NL, in his 79th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving children Annie (Seymore), Leonard (Cynthia), Helen (Bruce), Tony, Susan (Aaron), Garfield, Loretta (Bruce), and Glen (Carla); grandchildren Trina (Mike), Brian (Amber), Ricky, Jason (Melissa), Andy (Tracy), Jodi, Justin (Tanya), Scott, David (Raynesha), Riley (Pamela), Blane, Brent, Shana, Hanna, and Holly; great-grandchildren Brady, Jenna, Matayia, Tiffany, Trevor, Hunter, Meghan, Kaysia, and Hunter; sister Blanche as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Vera, parents Susan and Henry, and a number of brothers and sisters. Visitation took place at the St. Mark's Anglican Church in Boat Harbour from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 13, with Rev. Diane Smith and lay reader Alf Larkin officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

YOUNG, Holly
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Holly Young of Port au Choix, NL, announce her passing on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 54 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Colin; daughter Cherlyn (Tyson); grandson Jax; brothers Andrew (Louise), Jim (Phyllis), Emmanuel (Stella), Victor, and Wade (Rita); sisters Thelma Bertram, Sadie Patey, Leona (Jeff), Mary (Murray), and Karen (Arnold); Mom (Aunt Yvonne) and Dad (Raymond Rumbolt); special niece, Sarah, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is predeceased by parents Edward and Sarah, sisters Peggy, Hilda, and Sybil, brother Mark Rumbolt, aunts Lydia, Dora, Millie and Julie, nephew Christopher, uncles John, Mark, Jim, Emmanuel, Dick, Cecil and Lloyd. Visitation took place at St. Thomas Beckett Anglican Church in Port au Choix from where the funeral service took place on Wednesday, May 8 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Paulette Bugden officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to a charity of one's choice.
