BROMLEY, Maurice
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Maurice
Bromley Jr.
of Goose Cove, NL, announce his passing on May 10, 2012. He leaves to
mourn his sons Louis (Lillian), Donald (Elva), Anthony (Marilyn), and
Edward (Sharon); daughters Joan Saunders (Morris), Bonnie Eddison, Angela
Hillier (Barry), Shirley (Dale), Linda Bromley, and Rhonda Carroll (Todd);
25 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers Edward (Anne), Cyril
(Alice) and Kevin (Rose); sisters Laura Whiteway, Ida McGrath, Theresa
Alyward (John Joe), Anna Alyward (Patrick), as well as a large circle
of family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Theresa, daughters
Linda and Bessie, parents Maurice Sr. and Mary Josephine, brothers Ronald
and Francis. Visitation was held at the funeral home from where the funeral
took place on Monday, May 14 at 11 a.m. Interment followed at the church
cemetery in Goose Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry

COOMBS, Clifton Samuel
Passed peacefully away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on May 25, 2012, Mr. Clifton Samuel Coombs of Shoal Cove West in his 61st year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are sisters Alva (Hen), Josie (Harrison), Mary (Melv), and Peggy (Rol), brothers Abe (Laura), Free (Ruby), Bruce (Ivy), and Dwight (Jean) and a large circle of friends and extended family. He was predeceased by his mother Bridget, father Abraham, brothers Oswan and Israel, and sister Irene. Visitation was held at St. Margaret's Anglican Church in Reef's Harbour from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 28 with Rev. Harold Harvey and lay reader Bernice Baines officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Passed away in a tragic accident on May 7, 2012. Mr.

Point, NL, in his 57th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving
memories his wife Jessie; children Nina (Sheldon) and Tristan Harris;
grandchildren Skye and Slayde; his siblings Madge (Hubert), Maxwell (Irene),
Nelson (Caroline), Clifford (Elizabeth), Wallace (Sheila), and Phyllis
(Dudley). He was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Gladys, and brother
Wilson. Visitation was held at the St. Matthew’s Anglican Church in Anchor
Point from where the funeral service was held on May 11, with Rev. Bob

GILLAM, Dorothy Colbourne (Hodder)
Passed peacefully away at home in Corner Brook on Saturday,
May 12, 2012, Dorothy Colbourne (Hodder) Gillam at the age of 97 years. She was predeceased
by her dear husband William Silas Gillam and brothers Wilson Lloyd Hodder,
Frederick G. Bell and John (Buster) Bell. Lovingly remembered by sons
Lloyd (Joy) and John; daughter Irma (John) Moores; grandchildren Jason
(Susan), Laura, Michael (Chloe), David (Sonya), Catherine, Anthony and
Khalayla; great-grandchildren Abby, Ben, Kai and Ian, as well as a large
circle of other relatives and friends. Cremation entrusted to the care

79 years. Predeceased by parents: Harvey and Amelia Pomeroy; step-father:
Daniel Eastman and brother: Ernie. Left to mourn, husband: Ronald; one
daughter: Florence (Bruce) Jenkins, Springdale; five sons: Frank (Gertrude),
Carbonear, Dennis (Barbara), Little Bay Islands, Ronald (Donna), Flowers
Cove, Ernie (Surina), St. John’s and Daniel (Charlene), Harbour Grace South;
daughter-in-law: Juanita Grimes, Springdale; nine grandchildren: Patti-Lynn
(Richard), Tara, Jennifer, Nicole (Brent), Peter (Jackie), Christopher
(Nikki), Chad (Ashley), Wayne (Amy) and Noah; four great-grandchildren:
Joshua, Kaitlyn, Keenan and Brea; one brother: Roy (Neta) Pomeroy, Lewisporte;
three sisters: Mollie (Frank) Janes, Embree, Glenys (Ted) Northcott, Appleton
and Barbara Pomeroy, St. John’s; sister-in-law: Yvette Boone, La Scie;

Nora, Cow Head, Blanche (Len), Daniel’s Harbour, Ina (John), Deer Lake,
and Nancy (Grey), Mississauga, Ontario; brother Bruce, Halifax, Nova
Scotia; sisters-in-law Mirilla, New York, Dorcas, Pasadena, and Evelyn,

friends. He was predeceased by his parents Rufus and Prudence Guinchard,

of Englee, NL, (Sept. 13, 1945 - May 14, 2012) announce her passing on May
14, 2012. She leaves to mourn her children Mike (Linda), Kevin (Jocelyn),
Joanne, Betty-Lou (Gus), and Glen; grandchildren Andrew and Alicia; friend
Cyril Power; sisters Ella Ellsworth, Matilda (Norman), Randell, and Hazel
(Ron) Green; brother Ray (Ruth) Compton; in-laws Bride Compton and Edward
Gushue as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends. She was predeceased by her parents from Englee Arthur and
Susanna Compton, sisters Alma Barrett, Diane Gushue, Jean Compton, and
Margaret Compton, brothers Melern, Lindolph, Edward, Lester, and Alonzo
Compton, grandchildren Brooke Suzanne and Steven. Visitation took place
on Wednesday, May 16 and Thursday May 17 at the Salvation Army Citadel,
Englee. The service took place on Friday at 12 noon at the Salvation

HINKS, Lucia Marie
Lucia Marie Hinks of Fort McMurray, Alberta, (formerly of Port Saunders,
NL) passed away at the age of 45 years in Edmonton, Alberta. She is lovingly
remembered by her husband Shawn Genge; children Marissa and Sarah; mother
Genevieve; and brothers and sisters. Lucia was predeceased by her father
Arthur Thomas. Friends visited St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in
Port Saunders on Wednesday evening and Thursday from where the funeral
service was held on Friday, April 20 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Lee Lainey officiating.
Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove. As expressions
of sympathy, donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Society. Funeral

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her special friend Robert Hynes; her children Wavey (Brent Perry), and Ivan (Donna); her grandchildren Angelina, James, and Gracie; her mother Rita; her brothers Dave (Elaine), Gregory (Alma), Allan (Roxanne), Eric (Lucy), and Phillip (Rosemary) and Roland (Brenda); her sisters Murial (Barry), Rosemary (Jeffrey), and Phyllis (Bruce). She also leaves to mourn a large number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, family and friends. Margaret was predeceased by her father Riley, brother Samuel, brother-in-law Wayne and nephew James, grandparents Hardy and Myrtle House and Philip and Helen Thornhill. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service took place on Saturday, June 2, at 2 p.m. at the Anglican Church in Daniel's Harbour with Bishop Leonard Whitten officiating. Passed away in a tragic accident on May 1, 2012. Mr.
Ralph Daniel Rose of St. Carol's, NL, in his 64th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and
loving memories is his wife of 43 years Pearl; his children Kathy (Neil),
Jamie (Kim), and Chris; his two precious grandchildren Adam and Kaleb;
five sisters; two brothers; and a large circle of extended family and
dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, and one
sister. Visitation was held at the funeral home followed by the funeral
service at 2 p.m. on May 6 with Rev. Stephanie McClellan officiating

RUMBOLT, Lawrence
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we, the family announce
the passing of Lawrence Rumbolt of Mary's Harbour, NL. Dad passed away
on Wednesday, May 9th, 2012 at Harbourview Manor in
Mary's Harbour surrounded by his loving family. Dad was a strong and
determined man throughout his life and in his death. He was proud and
instilled that trait in all of us. To be proud of who we are and where
we come from. Dad was born in the small fishing village of Indian Cove,
Labrador on July 5th, 1943. Dad was one of six children born to Eliza
and Thomas Rumbolt. He grew up and went to school in Indian Cove and
was a fisherman. He married Barbara Ann Stone of Henley Harbour and together
they fished for many years at Indian Cove until they moved to Mary's
Harbour. Dad is predeceased by his parents Eliza and Thomas Rumbolt,
sister Doreen and brothers Ruben and Chesley. Dad leaves behind his loving
wife of 44 years, Barbara and his children Nancy, Yvonne, Keith (Cheryl),
Sherry (Paul), Bradley (Andrea) and his cherished grandchildren Hailey,
Nicholas, Carlie Ann, Colin, Andrew and Natalie, as well as his brothers
Paul (Ivy), Wilfred (Ethel), and Myrtle (Reg Elgar). The family wishes
to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff of Harbourview Manor and
the Mary's Harbour Clinic for all of their care. Also a very special
thank you to Nurse Lana Fillier who provided comfort and care to Dad
over the past six years and during his final hours. The funeral took
place on Friday, May 11th at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Anglican Church in
Mary's Harbour. The Interment followed in Indian Cove at 2 p.m.

Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Center in St. Anthony on May 28, 2012, Mrs. Phyllis Simms of St. Anthony NL, in her 86th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her only beloved son John (Ada) and two precious grandchildren Matthew and Ashley, also extended family and dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband Rueben and her 11 brothers and sisters. Visitation was held at Kerry M.
