REID, ALICE M.
St. Anthony

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alice M. Reid announce her passing at John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on May 4, 2003 following a lengthy illness. She was 81 years old. Leaving to mourn son Levi; daughter-in-law Jean; grandchildren Tracy; Dawn (Mike) Walsh; Tammy (Chris) and Rick (Louise); great-grandchildren Matthew Reid, Justin Reid, Megan Reid, Leo Walsh, Alicia Patey, Christopher Reid, Danielle Reid, Holden Reid, Vincent Reid and Liane Reid; sister Beryl (Job) Ricketts; brothers William (Shirley) Dyke and Wilfred (Maude) Dyke, as well as a large circle of family and friends. She is predeceased by husband Garland, sisters Beatrice, Viola and Jane, and brother Winston. Visitation took place at the funeral home on West Street . The funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 6, at St. Mary's Anglican Church in St. Anthony with Rev. Jean Brenton-Hickman officiating. Interment followed in the old Anglican Church Cemetery in St. Anthony. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

LEE, MATTHEW
Port au Choix

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Matthew Lee announce his passing at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre on May 7, 2003. He was in his 78th year. Leaving to mourn his wife Alma; daughters Mary (Terry) Hayes and Shirley (Dave) Blackwood of Acton, Ontario, Millicent (Wayne) Pike and Maureen (Kurt) Gould of Port au Choix, Stella (Dwight) Sparkes and Lucy (Paul) Fitzpatrick of Brampton, Ontario, Sharon (Dion) House of Port Saunders, and Vera (Wilfred) Patey of River of Ponds; grandchildren Melissa, Aaron, Alexandra, Erica, Vincent, Christa, Jillian, Shelby, Matthew, Sherry, Mandy, Jacob, Stephen, Brenda, Cindy, Dalphine and Amos, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. The family received friends at Fillatre's Funeral Home in Port au Choix. The funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 9 at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church in Port au Choix with Rev. Edward Terry officiating. Interment followed at Interfaith Cemetery in Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted or donations can be made to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website at www.fillatre.ca

MATCHIM, DELORES
Savage Cove

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Delores Matchim announce her passing on May 13, 2003 at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's. She was in her 36th year. Leaving to mourn her husband Richard; daughter Gema Lena; step-children Sabrina and Donovan; grandchild Logan; sisters Gloria (Henry), Evelyn (Harold), Elaine (Ross), Wavey (Stanley), Leona (Henry), Pauline (John), Priscilla (Eric) and Lurley (Raymond); brothers Pascoe, Bruce (Delina), Garry (Minnie) and Terry (Priscilla); very special couple Lloyd and Maisie Hughes; mother-in-law Julia; brothers-in-law Gilbert (Trudy), Alfred (Selma), Ralph (Phoebe) and David; sisters-in-law Catherine, Jane (Stanley), Ellen (Corbett), Eliza (Sand) and Dora (Norman). She is predeceased by her mom and dad and brother-in-law Briant. The family received friends at St. Mark's Anglican Church in Savage Cove from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 17 with Rev. Jean Brenton-Hickman officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Green Island Brook. As expressions of sympathy, flowers or donations graciously accepted. EARLE, ISABELLA
L'Anse au Loup

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Isabella Earle announce her passing on May 19, 2003 at the Long Term Care Unit in Forteau, where she resided for nine years. She was in her 79th year. Leaving to mourn with fond memories daughters Ellen (Wallace) Dempster and Lydia (Elvis) Lavallee; sons Eldon (June), Derrick (Elsie), Cleatis (Norma) and Dalton (Dulcie); 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters; four brothers and a large number or other relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her husband Spoffard. The family received friends at the Gospel Hall from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 22 with Mr. Eric Fowler, Mr. William Bingham and Mr. Francis Barney officiating. Interment followed at the Gospel Hall Cemetery in L'Anse au Loup. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, L'Anse au Loup. BLAKE, VIDA
Straitsview
1931 - 2003

Passed peacefully away at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on May 21, 2003. She was in her 71st year. She leaves to mourn sons Ford (Madeline), Curtis (Faye) and Sterling (Audrey); daughters Vivian (Fred), Mildred (Vincent) and June; grandchildren Lorna, Alwin, Lorne, Melissa, Jeremy, Travis Trina, Jerry and Samatha, as well as a number of other relatives and friends. Visitation took place at Central United Church from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 24 with Rev. Maich officiating. Interment followed in the old church cemetery in Quirpon. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

WHITE, STEPHEN
Sandy Cove

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Stephen White of Sandy Cove announce his passing on May 23, 2003 at the Interfaith Home for Seniors in Corner Brook at the age of 80 years. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are son Maitland (Christine) of Sandy Cove; daughters Evelyn Coles (Eldred) of Sandy Cove and Vina Rose (Wallace) of Flowers Cove; grandchildren Paulette, Candice and Kerry; brother Freeman White; sisters Maria Jane White, Louise Way, Gladys Coles and Sarah Way, as well as other relatives and friends. Mr. White was predeceased by his wife Mary Jane and son Gayden. The family received friends at St. Thomas Anglican Church in Sandy Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 26 with Rev. Sandra Hounsell-Drover officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery in Savage Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Corner Brook.

ALYWARD, ALICE
St. Anthony

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alice Alyward announce her passing on May 25, 2003 at John M. Gray Centre where she resided for nearly four years. She was 81 years old. Leaving to mourn with fond memories daughter Madeline (Ray) Couche; sons John (Theresa), Wilfred (Ann), Gerald (Leona), Gary, David (Lawney) all of St. Anthony, Patrick (Anna) of Port au Choix; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, as well as a large number of other relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her husband Patrick. Visitation took place at the funeral home on West Street , St. Anthony. The funeral mass took place at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church in St. Anthony at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28 with Fr. Lee Lainey officiating. Interment followed in the Goose Cove Cemetery . Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

WOODWARD, JOHN
North Boat Harbour

It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Woodward announce his passing at his home in North Boat Harbour on May 26, 2003. He was in his 82nd year. Leaving to mourn his wife Bessie; sons Don (Jean), Wallace and Cyril; daughters Winnie (Aaron) Pittman, Hazel (Henry) Brown, Betty (the late Gerald) Adey, Lillian (Whit) Elliott, Violet (Everett) Cull, Phyllis Woodward, Joy (Paul) Atkinson; 24 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sister Evangeline, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. Visitation took place at St. Mark's Anglican Church in North Boat Harbour from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 29 with Rev. Rumbolt officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Church Cemetery in North Boat Harbour. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

MITCHELMORE, WINSOR
Green Island Cove

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Winsor Mitchelmore announce his passing at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's on May 27, 2003. He was in his 58th year. He leaves to mourn his wife Virtue; son Winsor Jr. (Lisa); granddaughters Brittany and Kailyn of Alberta; mother Lavenia; brother Byron (Emma) of Green Island Cove; sister Bernetta (Bob) Hankinson of Alberta, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his father Norman, twin sister Amanda, sister Rowena and brother Maitland. The family received friends at St. Andrews Anglican Church in Lower Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 30 with Rev. Sandra Hounsell-Drover officiating. Interment followed in the Green Island Cove Cemetery . As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix/Bear Cove. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website at www.fillatre.ca

STE CLAIRE, MARJORIE R.
St. Anthony

Passed peacefully away at Curtis Memorial Hospital on May 31, 2003. She was in her 60th year. She leaves to mourn two daughters Sheila (Harry) Blake and Sheryl Ann Simms (Tim Ireland); son Leon Ste Claire; grandchildren Matthew Blake, Kristy Blake and Hannah Ireland; mother Susanna Simms; sister Glorina Drodge; brothers Donald (Janet) Simms, Daniel Simms (Zachery), Augustus (Marilyn) Simms and Vernon (Patricia) Simms, as well as a large number of other family and friends. She is predeceased by her father Arnold Simms and brother-in-law Reginald Drodge. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew her. Visitation took place at the funeral home on West Street,, St. Anthony. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3 at the Salvation Army Church in St. Anthony with Capt. Mouland officiating. Interment followed in the old Salvation Army Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.
