It is with great sadness that the family of the
late Mary
Jane Genneaux announce
her passing at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders on Saturday,
May 5, 2001. She was in her 83rd year. She leaves to mourn
two daughters, Dulcie (William) and Bridgit (and the late Donald) Scanlon; five
sons, Clifford (Erma), Arthur (Clara), Lawrence (Rebecca), Kevin (Carm) and Frank
(Irene); daughter-in-law Laura; 42 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two
great-great-grandchildren as well as a large circle of family and friends. She
was predeceased by her husband Lawrence, two sons, Ralph and John. The family
received friends at Queen of the Angels Roman Catholic Church in Castor River
South from where the funeral service took place on Monday at 10 a.m. with Fr.
Terry officiating. Interment followed at the cemetery in Bartlett 's Harbour.
As expressions of sympathy, flowers or donations can be made to a charity of
one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home,
Port au Choix.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Samuel
House announce

7, 2001. He was in his 89th year. He leaves to mourn son
Stephen (Cecilia); six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters,
Maisie (Amos) Patey and Bessie House, all residing at River of Ponds; also
a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his first wife
Hannah and son Charles, and his second wife Bridget. The family received friends
at the Anglican Church in River of Ponds from where the funeral service took
place on Thursday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Newhook officiating. Interment followed
at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers or donations can

HILLIER, HAZEL
(formerly of St. Anthony)
Passed peacefully away at Glenbrook Lodge on Tuesday,
May 8, 2001 in her 89th year. She was predeceased by her husband Tobias and sons Lewis and Clayton.
Leaving to mourn daughter Betty Simms of St. John's; sons George (Pearl) and
Adrian (Amy), both of Kitchener, Ontario and Woodrow of St. Anthony; brothers
Lewis of Port Hastings and Maitland (Gladys) of St. Anthony; sisters Una McAskil
(Tony) of Halifax, Ethel Mews of Mount Pearl, Lulu Barrett (Arthur) of Mount
Pearl, Lottie Winsor (Frank) of King's Point and Effie Cooper; and a number
of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Her remains
rested at K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, West Street , St. Anthony and also Bethel
Pentecostal Church from where the funeral service took place on Saturday, May
12. Flowers gratefully accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M.

of the late Guy
Sinnicks announce
his passing on Tuesday, May 8, 2001 at the Western Memorial
Regional Hospital in Corner Brook . He was in his 57th year. He
will be sadly missed by his loving wife Marion; stepchildren Marina (Jack)
Drover of Hawkes Bay, June Vincent, Kathleen Drover both of Corner Brook, Gordon
(Cindy) Vincent of Botwood, Heather (Rick) Travers of Lark Harbour and Ronald
(Goldie) Vincent of Alberta; four sisters Hazel (Wilfred) Hughes of New Ferrole,
Annie (Algie) Sinnicks, Daisy (Larry) Perry and Marina (Garland) Applin all
of Hawkes Bay; two brothers Wilfred and Samuel (Etthie) both of Hawkes Bay;
also a large circle of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Victor and Pamela Sinnicks; stepfather Adam
Coombs; sisters Victoria and Rosann; and nephew Lanny. Visitation took place
from the Anglican Church in Hawkes Bay on May 10 from where funeral services
took place on Friday, May 11 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Newhook officiating. Interment
followed at the family plot. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Parsons
Funeral Home, 63 Northmain Road , Deer Lake.

her passing at Charles Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Thursday,
May 10, 2001. She was in her 82nd year. She leaves to mourn
her husband Pearce; daughter Marina (Gilbert), sons Arthur (Laverne), Pius (Linda)
and Edmund (Anita); grandchildren Jason (Tammy), Ashley (Tracy), Laura, Chantell,
Cristy, Michael, Cindy, Mark, Glen, Noreen and Natasha; great-grandchildren Carter,
Joshua and Matthew; brother Elias; sister-in-law Ida; niece Emma (Henry); nephew
Kenneth (Marsha); special friend Rosanna Applin and a large circle of relatives
and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Abel and Elizabeth, brothers
Tom and Steven. The family received friends at St. Matthew's Anglican Church
in Anchor Point from where the funeral service took place on Saturday at 2 p.m.
with Rev. Robert Elder officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Beatrice Payne announce
her passing on Sunday, May 20, 2001 at her family residence.
She was in her 83rd year. She will be sadly missed by her two daughters,
Mary (Reg) Moss of Grand Falls-Windsor and Ruth (Guy) Payne of Cow Head; son
Bruce (Lee) Payne of St. Anthony; grandchildren Heidi, Joanne, Phillip, Bruce,
Matthew, Ryan and John; brother Albert (Olga) Barnes; brothers in- law Norman
Payne, Basil (Maxine) Payne, and Edwin Kean; sisters-in-law, Caroline Payne,
Mildred (Mamie) Warford, Joan Forward) Hewlin, Margaret (Max) House, Peggy
Barnes, Nettie Payne and Alice Payne, and a large circle of relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Leslie; brothers Edgar and Wilfred; parents
Wilfred and Mary Barnes. Visitation took place from the Anglican Church at
Cow Head on Wednesday. Funeral services took place on Thursday, May 24, with
Rev. John Meade officiating. Interment followed at the family plot. Funeral
arrangements were entrusted to Parsons Funeral Home, 63 North Main Street,
Deer Lake.

brothers Rex (Elsie) House of Daniel's Harbour and Guy (Vera) House of Grande

(Bert) Keough, Ida (George) Payne, Hilda Hutchings and Marie Parsons; special

nephews and relatives. He was predeceased by his wife Delilah, parents Freeman
and Ada House, sister Olive Wentzell, brothers-in-law Isaac Biggin, Steadman

Church in Daniel's Harbour from where the funeral service took place on Friday,
May 25 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Norman Cutler officiating. Interment followed at

Passed peacefully away at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on May
25, 2001. She was in her 75th year. Leaving to mourn her
sisters Viola (John Humby), Marilyn (Erwin); brothers Garth (Donna), Tom, John
(Edna), Herbert (Pearl); as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends. She was pre-deceased by her father Augustus in 1972, mother
Mary Ann in 1994 and sister Evelyn in 1956. The funeral service took place at
2 p.m. on May 28 from the Pentecostal Church in Griquet with interment in the
church cemetery. Her remains rested at the church. Funeral arrangements were
entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, Funeral
Director.
ELLIOTT, CORNELIA

Passed peacefully away at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on May
26, 2001. She was in her 78th year. Leaving to mourn her
husband Caleb; sisters Gladys, Dora (Herbert), Melvina, Edith (Wesley), Rachel
(Allan); brothers Amos (Faye), Oswald (Emma), Walter (Rita); special nephew Morgan
and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her brothers-in-law
Ernie and Lewis. The funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on May 29 from St.
Matthew's Anglican Church in Cook's Harbour with interment in the church cemetery.
Her remains rested at the church. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M.
