CARTER, Jessie
Passed on: March 18th, 2018

Jessie was born November 26, 1936 to Myrtle and Alex Simms in St. Anthony Bight. She was the oldest of seven children. She moved to Great Brehat at a young age to be with the love of her life, John Carter. They were married on November 20th, 1956. They were blessed with seven children, 15 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. Jessie kept busy over the years caring for her family and working alongside her husband John at whatever work needed to be done, whether it was fishing, cutting wood, or tending to the garden. She will be dearly missed by a large circle of family and friends. She died on March 18. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children; Fred (Glenice), Dave (Lisa), Lorne (Adell), Wes (Denise), Joyce (Morris), Mae (Colin), Donna (Morley); Brother Hayward Simms; sisters Elsie, Bessie (Edgar), Juanita; brothers-in-law Charles (Rowena), Keith; sisters-in-law Olive, Rita; plus 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jessie was predeceased by her husband John; parents Alex and Myrtle Simms; mother-in-law Mary Carter; brother and sister Ross Simms and Nellie Simms; brothers-in-law Elijah Parrill, Gordon Powell, Don Reid; sisters-in-law Elizabeth (Minnie) and Minnie. Visitation was held from Kerry M. Fillatre's Funeral Home in St. Anthony until the funeral on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the St. Anthony United Church with Rev. Gus Pendleton officiating. Interment followed in Great Brehat. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre's Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

COLES, Claude
Passed on: March 20th, 2018

Passed away March 20th, 2018 from the Health Science Centre in St. Johns at the age of 84 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Lillian; daughters Wanda and Leah (Curtis); grandsons Gavin and Brendan; great-grandsons Jagger and Jaxon; sisters Lorrie White, Mable Diamond, Irene Sinyard; brothers/sisters in law Hazareth Coles, Beatrice, Caroline (Walter), Joan, Isaac (Olive), Sharon, Clayton (Sheila), and Edna. Claude was predeceased by his mother, father, sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law. Visitation was held from St. Mary's Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove from where the funeral was held on Sunday, March 25th, 2018 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Claire Stewart officiating. Interment followed. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre's Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

DECKER, Ivy
Passed on: March 23rd, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Ivy Marie Decker announce her passing on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 83 years. She was born in Cook's Harbour on July 13th, 1934. She leaves to mourn with precious memories, her loving family: sons, Glenn (Glenda) Pittman, Barry (Sharon) Decker, Trevor (Kim) Decker; daughters Evelyn (Dennis) Keats, Wanda (Brian) Hughes, Dorcas (Doug) Pelton; grandchildren Glenn (Arlene), Shelley, Chris (Vina), Barry (Tracey), Tara and Allie; great-grandchildren Cody and Max; sister Gladys Warren; brothers Everton Pittman and Aaron (Winnie) Pittman. Ivy also leaves behind a special friend Louise Short and a wide circle of family and friends. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Maxwell Aaron Decker. Visitation was held from St. Matthews Anglican Church in Cook's Harbour from where the funeral was held on Tuesday, March 27th, 2018 at 11:00 am with Rev. Katie Flynn officiating. EARLE, Stella Florence
Passed on: March 14th, 2018

Stella was born to Elijah and Emma Earle on February 20, 1920. She married Thomas Earle in 1938. They were blessed with seven sons and eight daughters. Stella gave her heart to the Lord in 1939. She loved and served the Lord all down through the years. Stella was a woman of prayers and had a passion for Missions. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother; and worked hard raising her family. Stella passed peacefully into the presence of the loving lord on Wednesday, March 14th, 2018 at the age of 98 years. She leaves to mourn with tender and loving memories, her sons, Hubert (Winnie), Lloyd, Shawn (Patsy); daughters, Violet (Arthur) Loder, Jean (Ross) Stevens, Donna (Bradley) Heard, Linda (Curtis) Hillier; daughter-in-law Elizabeth Earle, as well as 38 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and a large circle of extended family and friends. Stella was predeceased by her parents Elijah and Emma Earle; husband Thomas Earle; sons Ronald, Perry, Rodger, Allan; daughters Beatrice (Manuel), Jessie, Elva, Dulcie; daughter-in-law Diane Hedderson; son-in-law Allan Manuel; granddaughters Betty Quinlan, Cynthia Pilgrim; brothers William Earle, Hubert Earle; sisters Beatrice Coles, Elsie Bussey, Mary Eddison, and Phyllis Humby. Visitation was held from the Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in St. Lunaire-Griquet until the funeral on Saturday, March 17th, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Pastor John Baker officiating. Interment followed. GENGE, Alma
Passed on: March 31st, 2018

Passed away March 31st, 2018 at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony at the age of 90 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her husband of 68 years, Stedman; children Claude (Daphne), Henry (Marion), Myrtle, Nancy (Pat), Harvey (Livina), Roy (Priscilla), Sted (Karen); grandchildren, Dwayne (Tina), Tyrone (Joanne), Claude Jr. (Elva), Jillian (Keith), Mitchell (Gina), Maurice (Melissa), Toby (Pam), Jordan (Jessica), Candace (Trisanne), Natasha (Chris), Kristopher (Effie), Tyler (Tara); great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Courtney, Keira, Blade, Victoria, Jaden, Chloe, Ava, Jenna, Jared, Ethan; siblings Irene, Vivian (Kirby), Earl (Rose) as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Alma was predeceased by her parents Jacob and Blanche; sisters Josie, Amelia, Shirley, Jane, Mary-Ann, Hilda; brother Roland; son-in-law Don; and great-grandson Nicholas. Visitation was held from St. Matthew's Anglican Church in Anchor Point from where the funeral was held on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Omar Reyes officiating. Interment followed. GENGE, Cosmo Cyril
Passed on: March 18th, 2018

Passed away March 18th, 2018 at home in Flowers Cove, NL at the age of 83 years. Cos will be remembered as a loyal and devote husband, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Cos retired from Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro in 1989 and enjoyed many happy and healthy years since. His friends will remember his love of a good game of cards. He will be missed by many. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 56 years, Marion, and children; Darlene, Maunda (Gerald), Bud (Monica), Brian (Honey), Stella; grandchildren Scott (Erika), Randy (Lei), Valerie (Bruce), Blayne (Courtney), Toni (Brad), Stacie (Trav), Jarod, Peter; nine great-grandchildren; siblings Julia, Ellen (Ross), Henry (Alva), Harris (Barb); sisters-in-law Aurelia, Juanita, Hazel and Clara as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Cosmo was predeceased by his sisters Polly, Lillian, Josie, Constantine; brothers Bill, Garf, Flick; as well as special friend Angus. The memorial service took place from the Anglican Church in Flowers Cove on Saturday, March 24th, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Omar Reyes officiating. Inurnment to take place at a later date. GENGE, MARILYN (NEE MITCHELMORE)
Passed away March 31st, 2018 at the age of 41 years. She is forever remembered by her Husband Sheldon; Son Austin; Daughters Bryanna; Step-son Sheldon; Daughter in Law Kayla; Granddaughter Kate; Parents Rosalie and Emmanuel; Sister Tammy; Grandmother Rhoda Mitchelmore; Brother-in-law Ike; Niece Keisha; Nephew Logan; Mother-in-law Sheila; Father-in-law Wallace; Sister-in-law Terri; Brother-in-law Philip; Nephew Noah as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Marilyn was predeceased by Grandparents Levi and Goldie Mitchelmore; Grandfather Clyde Mitchelmore; Aunt Marilyn; Uncles Clyde, Harris, Don; Cousin Sonya Parrill. Visitation took place from St. Matthews Anglican Church in Anchor Point from where the funeral was held on Friday, April 6th, 2018 with Rev. Omar officiating. Cremation followed. OFFREY, Robert
Passed on: March 24th, 2018

It is with great sadness the families of Robert Michael Paul Offrey announce his sudden passing at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre, on Saturday, March 24th, 2018, at the age of 68 years. Robert was born in Hawke's Bay to Reginald and Nelly Offrey on January 26th, 1950. In 1990, he devoted his life to Michelle Clowe of Fermeuse. During their 28 years together, they shared in joy of four precious boys that eventually blessed them with three beautiful grandchildren. Robert and Michelle's home in Hawke's Bay was filled with joy and laughter where many friends cherished their close relationship. Robert worked as a wood harvester and was known as the jack-of-all-trades. Robert enjoyed his time with his children and grandchildren, his many loved animals, fishing and countless campfires, and life with his best friend and soul mate, Michelle. He will be sadly missed by: wife: Michelle Clowe, children: Joshua (Candace) Clowe, Barry Clowe (Ashton) and Dale (Emmie) Clowe, his daughter-in-law: Danielle Brake, grandchildren: Tristan Clowe, Hannah Brake and Jennifer Brake, his siblings: Grandville (Diane) Offrey, Murray (Mary) Offrey, Arthur (Linda) Offrey, Helen (Lawrence) Patey, Marlene Maynard, Lila Offrey, Joe Lavers, Marian (Fabian) Hyde, Cathy (Glen) Acker, Lucy (Ron) Coady, Barbara (Hubert) Kenny and Laura O'Neill. His furry friends; Hunter and Howie, Also, a long list of special friends who Robert left a lasting impact on. Robert is predeceased by: son: Bobby Brake, parents: Reginald and Nelly Offrey, brothers: Wilson Lavers, Ed Maynard (in-law), nephews: Craig House, Chad Offrey, and Andre House. The family received family and friends at The Bethel Pentecostal Tabernacle, in Hawke's Bay, NL, on Monday, March 26th, 2018, from the hours of 7-9 pm, and continued Tuesday, March 27th, 2018, from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where also the funeral service took place form on Wednesday, March 28th, 2018, at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Jeremy Mitchell officiating with the burial to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Sandy Cove, NL. Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Centre in St. John's on Monday, March 26th, 2018 at the age of 77 years, surrounded by loving family. Alma was born on July 31, 1940. She leaves to mourn with tender and loving memories her children, Audrey (Wayne) Hillier, Mary Snelgrove, Albert (Kelly) Penney, Susan Penney, Steven Penney; grandchildren Jennifer, Justin, David, Alex, Joshua, Zachary, Rachel, Sarah; great-grandchildren Reid, Cameron, Jesse, Casey; brothers Max (Jane) Bussey, Ross (Betty) Pilgrim; sister Susie (Charlie) Reardon; brother-in-law Roger (Kate) Penney; sister-in-law Dora Penney; as well as her nieces, nephews, and a large circle of extended family and friends. Alma was predeceased by her parents Abraham and Edith Bussey; husband Guy; parents-in-law Harold and Mary Penney; as well was her brother-in-law Gerald Penney. Visitation was held from Kerry M. RANDELL, Bridget

Passed away on March 22, 2018 from the White Bay Central Health Centre in Roddickton at the age of 68 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Wilbourne Randell; children Jackie McAdams, Judy Randell, Tracey Randell, Francis Randell; grandchildren Brittany Randell, Alexandra Casey, Andrew McAdams, Cameron Randell, Maddison Randell, Abby McAdams; great-grandchildren Kayden Randell, Leo Casey as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. She is predeceased by her parents Stella and Steven Talbot, and brothers Jimmy Talbot and Eugene Talbot. Visitation was held from the Roman Catholic Church in Englee from where the funeral was held on Monday, March 26th, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Fr. George officiating. Interment followed. SULLEY, Emily Jane
Passed on: March 23rd, 2018
Emily Jane Sulley (née Cull)
was born July 1, 1923 with her twin sister Winnifred to parents Reuben and Elizabeth Cull of Great Brehat. It was here she grew up and at an early age went out into service. On January 20, 1943 she married Robert George Sulley of St. Anthony. On March 23, 2018, surrounded by love, she passed away into the arms of God. She is survived by her daughters Leona Elson (Howard), Linda Loder (Donald); grandchildren Dwain, Sherri, Sonya, Kenneth, Karla; great-grandchildren Adam, Brayden, Amy, Victoria, Ashton, and Aaron. She will be lovingly remembered and missed. She was predeceased by her husband Robert in 1981 as well as her brothers Freemonder, Lester, Thomas, Harris and Wesley; and her sisters Mable, Winnifred, and Ursula. Visitation was held from Kerry M. Fillatre's Funeral Home in St. Anthony until the funeral on Sunday, March 26th, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the United Church in St. Anthony with Rev. Gus Pendleton officiating. Interment followed in the Fishing Point United Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. WOODWARD, Robert
Passed on: March 19th, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Robert Woodward announce his passing on March 19th, 2018 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 64 years. He leaves to mourn one daughter, Ananda (Glen) and one granddaughter, Sierra. He also leaves to mourn seven sisters; Clara (Hedley), Rowena, Dulcie (Wayne), Carrie (Thomas), Juanita, Joanne, Jennifer (Rob); two brothers, Earl (Gloria), Garfield; one very special cousin, Una Elliott; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Also, a special thank you to Wallace Woodward. Roberts was predeceased by his parents Abe and Blanche Woodward. Visitation was held from the Anglican Church in Boat Harbour from where the funeral was held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Katie Flynn officiating. Cremation to follow.
