BEST, Evangeline Elizabeth
Passed away peacefully at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony, at the age of 84 years, Mrs. Evangeline Elizabeth Best of St. Anthony. Left with fond and loving memories are her sons Calvert (Ruby), Robert, and Tony (Belinda), and also Roy, and Ross (Thelma). She leaves six grandchildren, Gerry Best (Trina), Bobbi-Lynn Best (Jamie Reardon), Michael Best (Colleen Pike), Courtney Best, Terrilyn Hillier (Jason Rossington), and Ann Marie Mugford; four great-grandchildren, Mark, Cheyenne, Courtney, and Sara. Also leaving with fond and loving memories are Frances (Lewis) Pynn, Margaret Best, and Patricia Best, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She lived to see the passing of her husband Robert, mother, father, 11 brothers and two sisters, and David Elliott. Visitation took place at the funeral home in St. Anthony. The funeral service was held at St. Mary's Anglican Church in St. Anthony at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, with Rev. Fr. Paul Findlay officiating. Burial followed the service in the Old Anglican Cemetery in St. Anthony. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

CHAMBERS, Jessie
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jessie Chambers of Blue Cove, NL (Aug. 15, 1943 - March 5, 2014) announce her passing on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the Brampton Civic Hospital at the age of 70 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Wilfred; children Trixie (Gerald) Chambers, Blue Cove, Nada Chambers, Blue Cove and Keith (Lan Mee) Chambers, Markham, Ontario; grandchildren Donald Jr., Matthew and Mee-Ya; brothers Lambert Noseworthy, John Noseworthy and Aubrey Noseworthy; sisters Maggie Hillyard and Effie Kasell; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church of the Advent in Plum Point on Saturday and Sunday from where a family service was held on Sunday at 8 p.m. and the funeral on Monday, March 10 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Harold Harvey officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Pond Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted or donations made be made to the Church of the Advent Alter Guild. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home. COATES, Margaret Ellen
Passed into eternal rest at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on March 11, 2014, Mrs. Margaret Ellen Coates of St. Anthony at the age of 90 years. Left to mourn are her son Truman (Shirley); daughter Margaret (Celia) Greenham (Ed); sister Blanche Burt and grandchildren Sherry Simms (Bob), Karin Dunphy (Tom), Truman Greenham, Trudy Wagner (Jim), Judy Burden (Barry), Jackie Roberts (Dominic), and Eddie Greenham, as well as 10 great-grandchildren, special niece Effie Pynn (Albert), and brother-in- law Thomas Coates. Visitation was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 13 at St. Mary's Anglican Church in St. Anthony with Rev. Fr. Paul C. Findlay officiating. Burial followed the funeral service in the Anglican Community Cemetery in Eddies Cove, Margaret's original home. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

COATES, William Henry
Passed peacefully away at his private residence in Eddies Cove East on March 19, 2014, Mr. William (Willie) Henry Coates in his 88th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving wife of 66 years Thelma; son Gerald (Ruby); daughters Betty (Robert), and Marilyn (Whyman); daughters-in-law Hazel and Ivy; grandchildren Gerald Jr. (Lorraine), Jennifer (John), Dean (Madonna), Quinten (Sherri), Carly Ann (Richard), Miranda (Sebastien), Ricky, Greg (Megan), Robbie (Deanna), and Scott; great-grandchildren Tyler, Jada, Carly, Laura, Bobby, Skyler, Sharla, Connor, Willie, and Renee, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his father Nathaniel, mother Annie, and sons Harrison and Melvin. Visitation took place at the St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Lower Cove from where the funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on the Sunday, March 23 with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating. Interment followed at the Eddies Cove East Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

DECKER, Louise
Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on March 17, 2014, Mrs. Louise Decker of Roddickton in her 79th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children Ross Decker (Daisy), Pamela Hillier (Garry), and Patsy McAuley (Andrew); six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother Ross Powell (Laura); sister Shirley Fillier (Alvin), as well as a large group of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Loderick and Gladys Rowsell. Visitation took place at the Calvary Pentecostal Temple from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 20 with Pastor G.B. Pinksen officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

HUMBER, Semone
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Semone Humber of Shoal Cove announce her passing on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Captain William Jackman Memorial Hospital in Labrador City at the age of 84 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her son Ivan (Hazel); daughter Constantina (Myles); special great-nephew Randy (Lisa), Kyle and Eva; granddaughter Ciara; grandson Robbie (Laura); great-grandsons Parker and Easton; brother Cosmo (Rowena); sisters-in-law Lillian and Angelina, and a circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas, parents Onesiphore and Margaret, brother Lawrence, grandson Quinn, sisters-in-law Christianna (Henry), Maryann (Thomas), Ida (Absalom); brothers-in-law Aaron (Leah), Joseph, James and Arthur. Visitation took place at St. Margaret of Scotland Anglican Church in Reef's Harbour on Friday evening from where funeral service was held on Saturday, March 15 followed by interment at French Cove Cemetery with Rev. Harold Harvey officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix. MYERS, Marjorie Margaret
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Marjorie Margaret Myers of Bartlett's Harbour announce her passing on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 95 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children Julia (Cyril) of Deadmans Cove, Leo (Aletha) of Prince Edward Island, Philomena (Frank) Gaslard, Marie (Eric) of Port au Choix, Mark (Sylvia) of Sunny Brook, Alberta, Bernadette (Walt) Offrey of Corner Brook; 71 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Veronica Plowman and Ceceila Kilenscroth; sister- in-law MaryAnn, MaryAlice, and Pauline; son-in-law Jacob White, and Noah Coombs; daughter-in-law Doreen, Lucy, Susan, and Rosemary, and a large circle of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, sons James, Joseph Jr., Clarence, and David, daughters Nellie, Pauline, and parents William and Julia. Visitation took place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Bartlett's Harbour on Wednesday and Thursday from where funeral service as held on Friday, March 28 at 2 p.m. with Fr. PILGRIM, Stanley
Passed away at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on March 13, 2014, in his 75th year, Mr. Stanley Pilgrim of Main Brook. Stanley leaves to mourn his spouse Shirley; daughters Alice (Glenn), Connie (Rodger) and Belinda (Gilles); grandchildren Gregory (Tracey), Shawn, Ryan, Gillian and Amy; his brothers Leander (Isabella), Herman (Gladys), Mervin (Wavey) and Melvin (Karen); sisters Alice (Kenneth), Drucella (Douglas), Stella (Dennis), Elsie (Alwyn), Cassie (Tom), Belinda (Brian) and Triffie (Edward). Stanley lived to see the passing of his father Benjamin, mother Bessie and daughter Bonnie. Visitation took place at Bethel Pentecostal Church in Main Brook, from where the funeral service was held on Monday, March 17 with Pastor Reginald Skinner officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery in Main Brook. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

RANDELL, Betty
Passed away into the loving arms of God at her private residence in Ottawa, Ontario at the age of 67 years, Mrs. Betty Melina Randell of Ottawa, formerly of Englee. Left behind with heavy hearts are her loving husband Benson Randell, Ottawa; her dear children Byron (Sherrie) Randell and Vivian (Lorne) of Ottawa, and Benita Randell of Kitchener, Ontario, as well as eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a large circle of other relatives and friends, all of whom will feel the loss of her presence deeply. Visitation took place at the Apostolic Faith Church in Englee from where the funeral service was held on the Friday, March 14 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor George Burton and Pastor Fred Randell officiating. Burial followed the service in the Englee Apostolic Faith Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

RUMBOLT, Walter
Passed peacefully away at the John M Gray Centre in St. Anthony on March 3, 2014, Mr. Walter Rumbolt of Main Brook in his 89th year. He leaves to mourn with cherished and loving memories his wife Della; sons Hayward (Darlene), Wade (Brenda), and Gerard (Kay); daughters Marilyn (Randy), and Jackie (Fred); grandchildren Mandy, Sheldon, Jillian, Adam, Karisa, Jordan, Madison, and Jessica; great-grandchildren Jackson and Alexis; his siblings Lillian Little, Mary Lunnen, Bill and Gord Smith, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. Cremation took place March 4. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Main Brook followed by the memorial service at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 6 with Harold Harvey officiating. Scattering will take place at a later date. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

STRANGEMORE, Naomi
Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on the March 14, 2014, Mrs. Naomi Strangemore of St. Anthony in her 93rd year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons Selwyn (Ivy), Charles (Gay), Carl (Selma), and Guy (Karen); daughters Nita Seaward, Marilyn (Tony) Walker, Eva (Riley) Applin, and Joyce (Roy) Burt; grandchildren Nicole (Eddy) Cassell, Luanne (Frank) Keats, Todd (Rae Lynn), Tammy, Marla (Ward) Smith, Jodie (Cyril) Lane, Shelley (Cory) Simms, Gavin Applin, Christopher Walker, Heidi Walker, Colby, and Leanne Burt; great-grandchildren Hilary, Nicholas, Amy, Jonah, Andrew, Cameron, Tyler, Lucas, Marin, Mackenzie, Ashley, Erin and Kali; sister Lillian (Hayward) Elliott; sister-in-law Grace Pittman; special friends Evangeline Strangemore, Blanche Burt, Mary Jane Burt and Julie Hillier, as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Hayward, parents William and Rachel Pittman, brothers Gordon, Ralph, Roy, and Glossen, sisters Edna Drover and Maude Elliott. Visitation took place at the funeral home in St. Anthony followed by the funeral service which was held at 2 p.m. on the Wednesday, March 19 at St. Mary's Anglican Church in St. Anthony with Rev. Fr. Paul C. Findlay officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

WARREN, Clayton
Passed away peacefully at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on March 17, 2014, Mr. Clayton Warren of Cook's Harbour, in his 80th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 59 years Gladys; his children Juanita (Owen deceased), Leu (Bertha), Daphne (Lester), Donna (Allan), Hayward (Bernette), and Jeffrey; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother Garfield (Ada); sister Elsie (Leonard); sisters-in-law Deborah and Ivy; brothers-in-law Everton, Aaron and Winnie, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Harrison and Florence, siblings Irene, Bertram, Rita and Virginia. Visitation took place at St. Matthew's Anglican Church in Cook's Harbour from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 20 with Rev. Mark O. Wilkoff officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

WHALEN, Mary Ann

Mary Ann Whalen
passed away at the age of 77 years. Left behind with heavy hearts are daughters Jackie (Randy) and Joan (Mladen); sons William (Ivy) and Greg (Katrina); daughter in law Marilyn; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Mary Ann was predeceased by her husband Baxter and son Jock. Memorial arrangements will be made at a later date in Flower's Cove.
