BAINES, Bertha
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bertha Baines of Shoal Cove West, NL, announce her passing at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the age of 79 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters Laverne (Willis), New Ferrolle and Marilyn (Andrew), Reef's Harbour; son Wayne (Audrey), Shoal Cove; grandchildren Vernon, Connie (Melv), Monique (Glen), Sheldon (Tyna), Kyia, Zane, Chase and Jeanien (Lee); great-grandchildren Sarah, Taya, Ocean, Melvin Jr., Colin and Liam; very special family members Marina (Kirby) and Belinda Applin; sister Cicely (Samuel), Labrador City; sisters-in-law Mary, Susan and Sylvia; brother-in-law Archibald (Elizabeth); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Ronald, parents Joseph and Caroline Applin. Visitation took place at St. Margaret of Scotland Anglican Church in Reef's Harbour Saturday and Sunday from where the funeral service was held on Monday, March 11 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Harold Harvey officiating. Interment followed at the French Cove Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix. EDDISON, Carmen
Passed peacefully away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on March 3, 2013. Mr. Carmen Eddison of Hay Cove, NL, in his 84th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Mabel; daughters Marie (Dave) Stephens, Shirley (Darryl) Osmond, Glenice (Fred) Carter, and Pansy (Loren) Roberts; sons Hedley (Pauline), Harvey (Evelyn), Boyce (Alice), and Colin (Brenda), as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his father and mother John and Mary Eddison, brothers Bill, Jake, Aquilla, Bob, sisters Laura, Jane, Marion, Drucella, and grandsons Lindsay and Melvin. Visitation took place at the Central United Church at Quirpon Branch from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6 with Rev. Gus Pendleton officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddcikton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

GENGE, George Henry
Passed away on March 19, 2013 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, Mr. George Henry Genge of Anchor Point, NL, in his 92nd year. George leaves to mourn his wife Renie Genge; sons Lloyd (Larua), Kevin (Vera), and David (Susan); daughters Rachel (Jerome), Jocelyn (Edward), and Faye (Gary); and brothers Pearce and Garfield; sisters Margaret and Joanna, as well as 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In his time George seen the passing of his father and mother Arthur and Sarah, his son Barry and brothers and sisters Douglas, Emmanual, Rachel and Louria. Visitation took place at St. Matthew's Anglican Church in Anchor Point, from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 22 with Rev. Robert Rowlands officiating. Burial followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Anchor Point. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

MACEY, Violet
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Violet Macey of L'Anse au Loup, NL, announce her passing at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the age of 62 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories husband Hayward, and daughter Lisa (Greg), and grandson Jordan; sisters Emma and Adla, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter Yvette, parents Henry and Kathrine Ryland, and brother Chesley. Visitation took place at the Gospel Hall in L'Anse au Loup on Tuesday from where the funeral service took place on Wednesday, March 13 at 2 p.m. with Mr. Andrew Bergsma and Mr. Francis Barney officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home Ltd., L'Anse au Loup.

PARRILL, Elvis
Passed away suddenly on March 16, 2013 at his home in Pines Cove, NL, Mr. Elvis Parrill at the young age of 52 years. Left behind with heavy hearts to mourn Elvis's passing are his daughter Pamela, son-in-law Corey, Marlene; his parents John and Eliza Parrill; his sisters Shirley (Barry), and Ruby (Floyd); his brothers Jarvis and Ward; many nieces and nephews, as well as special persons Charmaine Genge, Wilga Parrill, Stan Mitchelmore, Gord and Cindy Hopkins, William Hen Stevens, Abe Whalen, and Val Rumbolt. Despite his young age, Elvis lived to experience the tragic passing of his sister Rhonda Parrill, and the loss of his grandparents Andrew and Elizabeth Parrill and Auston and Evangeline Mitchelmore. Visitation took place at St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Lower Cove from where the funeral service took place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March, 20, with Rev. Marlene Harvey and Lay Person Maxine Hughes presiding. Burial followed the service in the Anglican Cemetery in Pines Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

RICHARDS, Calvin Sterling
Passed away suddenly at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on March 25, 2013 in his 54th year, Mr. Calvin S. Richards of St. Anthony, NL. Calvin leaves with heavy hearts his wife Susan (Tucker); his daughters Pamela, Jennifer and Jasmine; sons Paul, Justin and Jamie; his mother Doris (Pilgrim); sisters Cora, Betty and Thelma; brothers Harvey and Morgan; three grandchildren and a large number of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his father Albert and his grandparents William and Rhonda Richards and Fredrick and Alma Pilgrim. He may no longer be here in body but his spirit lives on through the lives he has touched on his journey through life. Visitation was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony followed by the funeral service at the St. Anthony United Church at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 29 with Rev. Stephanie McClellan officiating. Burial followed the service at the United Church Fishing Point Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

SAMSON, Stella May
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Stella May Samson (Feb. 9, 1925 - March 11, 2013) of Brig Bay, NL, announce her passing on Monday, March 11, 2013 at Charles Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 88 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her son Absalom (Sheena) Chambers; grandson Lorne (Shianne) Chambers; granddaughter Nadine (Dion) Cunard; great-grandson Hunter; great-granddaughter Christie; brothers Winston (Sandra), and Wilfred (Jessie) Chambers; sisters Caroline (Ralph) Allingham, Sophia (Clifford) Flynn, and Doreen Dredge; sisters-in-law Olive, Ursula, and Anita and a circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her late husband William Samson, parents Absalom and Elizabeth Chambers, brothers William, Stedman, and Curtis, sisters Ruth, Jane, and Virginia. Visitation took place at the Church of the Advent in Plum Point on Tuesday and Wednesday from where the funeral service took place on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Harold Harvey officiating. Interment followed at Pond Cove Branch Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stoke Foundation. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix. SIMMS, Myrtle Dulcie
Passed away peacefully at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on March 18, 2013, Mrs. Myrtle Dulcie Simms of St. Anthony Bight NL, in her 97th year. Myrtle leaves behind with a lifetime of loving memories her five daughters Jessie, Elsie, Bessie (Edgar), Juanita (Gordan), and Nellie (Keith); three sons Hayward, Ross (Rita), and Brian; 19 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law Olive Simms; and a large number of other relatives and friends. She will forever be remembered and sadly missed by all who know her. Myrtle lived to see the passing of her beloved husband Alec, her parents Naomi and Peter Lane, her brothers Namon, Gideon, Chesley and sister Lavinia, two sons-in-law John Carter and Elijah Parrill. Visitation took place at the funeral home in St. Anthony. The funeral service followed in the St. Anthony United Church, with Rev. Stephanie McClellan officiating. The burial took place at the Community Cemetery in St. Anthony Bight. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

SPENCE, Vivian Marie
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Vivian Marie Spence of Port au Choix, NL, announce her passing on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 79 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her son Dwight (Beverley); daughters Doris (Eldon), and Melvina (James); grandchildren Jason (Pam), Ashley, Chad (Stacey), Dominique, Roxanne (Steve), Robert (Jen), Josh (Stephanie) and Ryan (Laura); great-grandchildren Ryan, Beau, Melissa, Jace, Kinsley, Chase and Logan; sisters Leah (Ignatius) and Julliet; brothers James (Laura) and Clayton (Stella); sister-in-law Clara Plowman; special friends Mary Reid, Sharon Gould, Marie Bourgeois, Myra McKay and the Billiard family and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Dec. 30, 2012, parents Alice and Ulric Plowman; sisters Florence and Lillian; brothers Augustus, Otto, Felix and Romeo. Visitation took place at the Good Tidings Pentecostal Church in Port Saunders on Monday evening and Tuesday from where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Steve Jenkins officiating. Cremation to follow at Humber Valley Crematorium. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the SPCA. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home in Port au Choix. WHITE, Stanley Thomas
Passed peacefully away surrounded by family on March 9, 2013 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony Mr. Stanley Thomas White of Sandy Cove, NL. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Rosalind; sons Hank (Janet), Graham (Cindy), and Dan (Maria); daughter June (Chris); grandson Nicholas; granddaughters Susie, Robyn, and Chelsea; great-grandchildren Ryder, and Hanna; special friends Anthony, Tom, Sarah, and Joyce, as well as many other family and a large circle of friends. Visitation took place at the St. Thomas Anglican Church in Sandy Cove from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Savage Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
