Passed peacefully away at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Monday, March 1, 2004. He was in his 50th year. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Edna; sons Toby (Deanna) and Levi (Paula); daughter Amanda (Clifford); grandchildren Robin, Breanna and Keisha; brothers Harold (Jessie), Isaac (Olive), Stephen ( Sharon ) and Clayton (Sheila); sisters Kitty, Caroline (Walter), Lillian (Claude), Beatrice (the late Samuel) and Jonie (Stephen), as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his mother Emily and father Isiah. Visitation was held at St. Mary's Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 4 with Rev. John Hounsell-Drover officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

EARLE, CLYDE NELSON
Woody Point
July 3, 1948-March 1, 2004

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Clyde Nelson Earle announce his passing on Monday, March 1, 2004 at his family residence in his 55th year. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Elaine (nee Brake); daughters Crystie (Terry Young) and Amanda (Paul Martin) both of Woody Point; grandchildren Joey, Kyle, Joshua and Jamie; brother Freeman (Phyllis) of Seal Cove; sisters Audrey Patey (fiancé Weldon Decker) of St. Anthony, Gaye (Reg Elliott) of Port au Ville, Jean Wells of Brampton, Ontario and Yvonne (Wilfred Parsons) of Ontario; brother-in-law Jim Parsons of Seal Cove, also a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by parents Charles and Cecily Earle, brothers Bruce and Ralph, sisters Fern Parsons and Faye Earle and brother-in-law Ron Patey. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Woody Point from where the funeral service took place on Friday, March 12 at 2 p.m. with Capts. Brandi and Dwayne LeDrew officiating. Interment followed at the family plot. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Parsons Funeral Home, 63 North Main street, Deer Lake.

PARRILL, GILBERT
Pines Cove
Aug. 7, 1923 - March 3, 2004

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gilbert Parrill announce his passing on Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at his family residence in his 80th year. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Miriam; son Whyman (Effie); daughters Vera (Alvin) Way, Hazel (Garfield) Crane, Gladys (the late Lawrence) Hamlyn and Maria (Noah) Genge; son Wilga (Pauline); very special granddaughter Connie (Troy) Genge; grandchildren Holly, Christopher, Marjorie, Bradley, Peggy, Jacqueline, Tony, Tonya, Darcy, Candace, Blanca, Dwayne, Claude (Jr.), Tyrone, Charmaine and Blaise and their families; sisters-in-law Olive Whalen and Elizabeth McLean; special friends and neighbours Norm and Nellie Parrill, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by daughter Beulah and son Wilfred. Visitation was held at the Anglican Church in Lower Cove from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 6 with Rev. Abbott officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery in Pines Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

LANE, MARY
Englee

Passed peacefully away at her residence in Englee on March 5, 2004. She was in her 74th year. Leaving to mourn husband Roland; sons Wilson and James of Englee and Woodrow of Fort McMurray, Alberta; daughters Joy Dempsey of Englee and Lillian (David) Doran of New Brunswick ; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Visitation was held at the Apostolic Faith Church in Englee, from where the funeral service took place on March 9 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Vanzel Quinlan officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, Roddickton, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

RUSSELL, GRAHAM
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Graham Russell announce his passing on Sunday, March 7, 2004 in Selkirk , Manitoba in his 87th year. He will be sadly missed by his wife Loretta (Rita) of Halifax, NS; daughters Elizabeth (Candy) of Barry, Illinois and Nancy of Halifax; sons Albert of Surrey, BC, James of Hornepayne, ON, George of Lourdes de Blanc Sablon, QC, Lewis and Donald of Dartmouth, NS, Clifford of Selkirk and Gary of Port Cartier, QC; sister Ruby of Halifax, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graham was born in Bay Roberts, married Loretta Fequet of Old Fort Bay, QC and worked for almost 40 years with the Hudson's Bay Co. at Blanc Sablon. Later, he worked for seven years as a bank manager in Lourdes de Blanc Sablon. He moved away from the area in 1983 but often returned to visit his many friends and relatives along the Great Northern Peninsula , the Labrador Coast and the Quebec North Shore . At his request, his remains were cremated and will be held until the passing of his wife. They both wanted to have their ashes laid to rest at Old Fort Bay.

GOULD, ISAAC JOHN (POL)
Nov. 8, 1960-March 7, 2004
Bear Cove

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Isaac John Gould (Pol) announce his sudden passing on Sunday, March 7, 2004 in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 43 years. He will be sadly missed by his mom Bridget; brothers Harvey (Olga), Oswald (Mary Alice) and Dean; sisters Sandra (Bruce), Ivy and Dale (Jock); sister-in-law Mona (Gerald); special friend Rose, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Isaac in 1990, brother Maxwell in 1979, brother-in-law Melvin in 2000. The family received friends at St. Boniface Anglican Church in Bear Cove from where the funeral service took place on Sunday, March 14 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ken Abbott officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Bear Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix/Bear Cove.

GIBBONS, KIRBY WILLIAMS
Forrester's Point

The sudden passing occurred on March 10, 2004 in Edmonton, Alberta as the result of a motor vehicle accident. He was in his 20th year. He is lovingly remembered by parents, Kirby and Edith; sister Courtney; grandparents, Roland and Sybil Gibbons, and Susie Williams (the late John Williams), as well as a large circle of other family and friends. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16 with Rev. Hounsell-Drover officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

CORNICK, ALPHONSUS
Port au Choix

It is with great sadness that the family of Alphonsus Cornick announce his passing on Friday, March 12, 2004 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders in his 78th year. Leaving to mourn his wife Margaret; children Elaine (Rick) of Fort McMurray, Alberta Edmund (Debbie) of Belleville, Ontario, Allan (Brenda) of Port au Choix, Angela Pitcher (John) of Mount Pearl, Bride Pitcher (William) of Burin, Kevin (Sally) of Surrey, British Columbia, Clarence (Hilda) of Port Saunders and Fabian (Tina) of Port au Choix; grandchildren Stephen, Donnie, Jennie, Chrissy, Diane, Jamie, Adam, Christopher, Michelle, Natasha, Lindsay, Billy, Andrew, Aaron and Abbie; great-grandchildren Jordan, Robert and Cameron; sisters Vange and Jenny of Port au Choix and Nellie of Placentia, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his daughter Doris, brothers Joseph, Francis, Rod and Ben, sisters Mary Ann and Maturine (Mat). The family received friends at Fillatre's Funeral Home in Port au Choix. The funeral service took place from St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church in Port au Choix on Tuesday, March 16 at 11 a.m. with Father Roger officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery in Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted or donations can be made to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.

BRIDGER, JOAN AUDREY
Nipper's Harbour, NL
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joan Audrey Bridger, age 66, announce her passing at her family residence in Nipper's Harbour on Sat., March 13, 2004. Predeceased by her parents, Lorenzo and Hazel Noble; brother, Carl; granddaughter, Nadine. Left with fond and loving memories are husband, Carl; children, Guy (Linda), Nipper's Harbour, NL, Gail Toms (Tony Morey), Port Hardy, BC, Craig (Josie), Nipper's Harbour, NL; grandchildren, Michael and Justin Bridger, Trent and Vicki Toms, Chance, Darin and Meagan Bridger; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Hubert Tucker conducted the funeral service Nipper's Harbour United Church and Cemetery on Wed., March 17, 2004. Pallbearers were Guy Bridger, Craig Bridger, Michael Bridger, Justin Bridger, Trent Toms, and Chance Bridger. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Wimbleton's - Baie Verte Peninsula Funeral Home.

PILGRIM/BARTER, SUSANNAH (NEE: CAMPBELL)
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Susannah Pilgrim/Barter announce her passing at the Health Sciences Centre on Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at the age of 75 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children Nina (Ray) of Springdale, Dan ( Sharon ) of Fort McMurray, Kay (Bax) of Goose Bay and Kevin (Joanne) of Corner Brook; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six sisters Margarete, Bessie, Edith, Bertha, Christine and Sarah; six brothers Seymour, Cyril, Harris, Herb, Melvin and Alex, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services took place on Saturday, March 20 at Raleigh United Church . The memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 27 at Bethany United Church in Carbonear. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

STEVENS SR., KENNETH
Main Brook
March 27, 1918 - March 19, 2004

It is with great sadness that the family of Kenneth Stevens Sr. announce his passing at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on March 19, 2004. He was in his 85th year. Leaving to mourn sons Walter (Barbara), Jim (Cecilia), Kenneth Jr. (Christine), Stanley (Sadie) and Edward (Sherry) of Main Brook, Thomas (Gail) of St. Anthony and Clyde (Beatrice) of Goose Bay; daughters Levina Elliott (Reuben), Elaine Samson (Ward) of Main Brook, Ann Boulos (Paul) of Stephenville and Wavey Ellsworth (Ron) of Yellowknife, NWT; 29 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Eva who passed away in 1984. Visitation took place at St. Paul 's Anglican Church in Main Brook from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 21 with Rev. John Hounsell-Drover officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

RUMBOLT, ALLEN JAMES (JIMMY)
Feb. 9, 1909-March 21, 2004
Mary's Harbour

Passed peacefully away at his home in Mary's Harbour on March 21, 2004. He was in his 95th year. He leaves to mourn sons Edmund (Suzanna), Melvin (Bessie), Ivany and Ralph (Elaine); daughters Ann, Mina (Albert), Edna (Stewart), Evelyn (Edward) and Alma; 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Muriel on Nov. 12, 2003, sons John, Donald and Clayton, and daughter Phyllis. Visitation was held at the Anglican Church in Mary's Harbour from where the funeral service took place on March 24 with Rev. Gail Williams officiating.

March 1, 1932 - March 21, 2004

Passed peacefully away at John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony on March 21, 2004. She was in her 72nd year. Leaving to mourn husband James; sons Larry (Melinda), Terry (Annie), Glenn (Mary) and Roddney (Tina); grandchildren Owen, Craig, Martina, Allison and Ashton; great-grandchildren Daniel and Timothy; sisters Marjorie (Bud) and Belinda (Jimmy); brothers Wilga (Gertie), Gordon (Rosie) and Gaydon (Joyce), as well as a circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by mother Sophie, father Walter and sisters Rosie and Doris Eileen. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Sandy Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24. Interment followed in the church cemetery in Savage Cove. HEDDERSON, DORMAN
Hay Cove
July 4, 1914 - March 22, 2004

It is with great sadness that the family of Dorman Hedderson announce his passing on March 22, 2004 at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony. He was in his 89th year. Leaving to mourn sons Ray (Rita), Lewis (Effie), Vincent (Levenia), Carson, Wilbourne (Edna) and Havner (Glenys); daughters Gladys, Valma (Valance), Dorcas (Gordon) and Muriel (Cyril); 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother Silas; sisters-in-law Ivy and Frances; brothers-in-law Maxwell and Wallace Blake, as well as a number of other relatives and friends. Visitation took place at Central United Church from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 25 with Rev. Lorne Bungay officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery at L'Anse aux Meadows. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

PORTER, OLGA
Bear Cove
July 7, 1926-March 26, 2004

Passed peacefully away on March 26, 2004 at John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony. She was in her 77th year. Left to celebrate her life are her husband, friend and partner Bob; daughters Mary (Dave), Mabel and Jill (Stan); sons John, Vince (Diane), Wilbert (Joyce), and Bob (Brenda); nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Mabel (Ren); brother Curt (Shirley). She was predeceased by sisters Mary, Ethel (Rol), Minnie, Marion and Bertha (Ossie), and daughter-in-law Sybil. She leaves us all with a strong sense of family and great appreciation for friends, more recipes than we will ever master and enough quilts to keep her warmth surrounding us forever. She is the best mother, wife and grandmother with which a family has been blessed. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Bear Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 29 with Rev. Abbott officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

BONNELL, JAMES

Feb. 17, 1917 - Mar. 29, 2004

Passed away on March 29, 2004 at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony. He was in his 87th year. Left to mourn sons Norman (Vera), Lorenzo (Louisa) and Carey (Sherry); daughters Mamie (George), Millie (Abe), Frances (Lionel), Gladys (Jim) and Ivy (Alphonsus); 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters Mary Jane Gibbons, Millie Dredge and Caroline Williams; special cousin Edna Gibbons; sister-in-law Winnie Bonnell, as well as a circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by wife Elizabeth and granddaughter Cindy Coombs. Visitation was held at St. Mary's Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31 with Rev. Hounsell-Drover officiating. HILLIER, RALPH WOODROW

June 16, 1929-March 30, 2004

Passed away on March 30, 2004 at his residence in Griquet. He was in his 74th year. He leaves to mourn partner Annie; son David (Betty); daughter Daphne; grandchildren Bradley and Travis; stepson Earnest (Brenda) Hillier; step-grandchildren Blair, Blake, Emily and Brittany; brother Alex (Sybil); sister Elva (Baxter) Pilgrim, as well as a number of other relatives and friends. Visitation was held at Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in Griquet from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 2 with Pastor Andrews officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

TROY, JOSEPH F.
Aug. 23, 1950-March 31, 2004

Joseph passed peacefully away at his home in Goose Cove on March 31, 2004. He was 53 years old. Left to mourn his loving wife Marie (nee Reardon); sisters Mary Boone (Fred) of Bishops Falls, Madonna Ricks (Leo) of St. Anthony, Shirley Parsons (Tom) of Corner Brook, Frances Reardon (Martin) and Agnes McCarthy (Jerome) of Goose Cove; brothers Pat (Gertrude), Edward, Wade (Annie), Tony (Gladys) and Paul (Dena), all of Goose Cove; mother-in-law and father-in-law Nellie and Alex Young; seven brothers-in-law; seven sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; special friends Pius, Lawrence and Frances Lewis, Freeman and Hazel Parsons, and Glossen and Rita Cull. He was predeceased by his parents Bridget and Leo Troy and father-in-law Albert Reardon. Visitation took place at the funeral home on West Street , St. Anthony. The funeral service took place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 3 at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Goose Cove with Fr. Hynes officiating. Interment followed in the Roman Catholic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.
