HUDSON, JAMES
L'Anse au Loup

It is with great sadness the family of the late James Hudson announce his passing in a tragic plane accident near Port Hope Simpson on June 7, 2009 at the age of 43 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories wife Zonya; sons Andre, Brendon, Jonathon and James; siblings Christine Normore, John, Gordan, Jeffery, Audrey and Scott, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents George and Madeline Hudson and sister Mildred. Visitors were received at the Gospel Hall in L' Anse au Loup on Wednesday and Thursday from where the funeral service took place on Friday June 12 at 2 p.m. with Mr. Jim Jarvis and Mr. Wallace Buckle officiating. Interment followed in the Church Cemetery in L'Anse au Loup. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, L'Anse au Loup.

SAMPSON, RUTH
Port Hope Simpson

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ruth Sampson announce her passing at Labrador South Health Centre in Forteau on June 8, 2009 at the age of 68 years. Leaving to mourn with loving memories husband Larry; son Jonathon and sister Barbara McCusker, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents John and Katherine Trees. Visitors were received at the Gospel Hall in English Point on Monday and Tuesday and then transported to Port Hope Simpson for funeral services at the Pentecostal Church on Thursday June11, at 3 p.m. with Mr. Alex Drybrough and Mr. Jim Jarvis officiating. Interment followed in the Church Cemetery in Port Hope Simpson. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, L'Anse au Loup.

OLLERHEAD, JAMES
Main Brook

Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on June 12, 2009. James Ollerhead, age 71 years. Leaving to mourn brother Roy (daughter Elizabeth); brother Raymond (Marlene); (family- Cheryl, Elaine Amanda, Matthew and Amy); sister Olive Elliott (Francis); (family-Jack, Russell, Ronnie, Catherine and Calvin); sister Isabella Pilgrim (Leander); (family-Bruce, Carrie, Leroy and Angela); sister Irene Earle (Fred); (family-Christopher, Lisa, Penney and Sharon). He was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Ruth Ollerhead, and niece Gail. Visitation took place at the Pentecostal Church in Main Brook, from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday June 16, 2009, with Pastor Langdon officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home St. Anthony and Roddickton. Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

DECKER, LLoyd George
L'Anse aux Meadows

Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on June 13, 2009. Lloyd Decker, age 70 years. Leaving to mourn his wife Madge (nee Saunders); his daughters Loretta, and Trixie (Junior Patey); his grandchildren Matthew and Hilary; his sisters Greta Woods and Madge Pinhorn; brother Sam (Neva) and a large number of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was predeceased by his sisters Margaret, Vera, Gladys, Iris and brother Kalman. Visitation was held at the Pentecostal Church in St. Lunaire - Griquet, from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 with Rev. Bruce Graham officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery L'Anse aux Meadows. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard and Levinia Caines Fillatre funeral directors.

PIKE, MCPL. Donald Kevin
Edmonton

Passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in Edmonton, Alberta MCpl. Donald Kevin Pike, at the age of 35 years. He leaves to mourn parents Elaine Cornick, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Derek Pike, Fort McMurray, Alberta, brother Stephen (Erica), nephew Jordan Gregory Pike, Fort McMurray, Alberta, grandmother Margaret Cornick, Port au Choix, and a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents Alphonsus Cornick, and Sadie and Cornelius Pike, and Aunt Doris Margaret Cornick. Visitation took place at Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix on Monday and Tuesday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. The funeral service was held at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, Port au Choix on Wednesday, June 24 at 11 a.m. with Monsignor Jim Robertson officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Tim Horton Children's Foundation. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca

PATEY, Donald Eric
St. Anthony
May 28, 1921 - June 18, 2009

Passed peacefully away at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on June 18, 2009 in his 88th year, Donald Eric Patey. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his four children Leonard (Karen) of Corner Brook, Donna (Robert), Janine (Gordon), and Arlene (Gordon) all of British Columbia; five grandchildren Dustin, Amanda, Jessica, Brian, and Julia. Also leaving to mourn his sister Laura of St. Anthony, sister-in-law Bertha LeGrow of St. John's; brother-in-law Harold King of Connecticut USA, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his dear wife Margaret, sisters Dorothy and Charlotte, brothers George, Garland and Joseph.
Donald served in the Royal Air Force as well as the Newfoundland Ranger Force. During the 1940's and 50's, "Don" flew in Newfoundland and Labrador as well as Northern Quebec and Ontario as a bush pilot. Upon his retirement, he had served 27 years with the Newfoundland Provincial Government Department of Social Services, St. John's. Dad will be deeply missed but fondly remembered as a kind and caring father and grandfather who placed family first.
Visitation took place at K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony on Friday, June 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Saturday, June 20 from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. The funeral service took place on Saturday, June 20 at 2 p.m. at the St. Anthony United Church with Rev. McGonigle officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were gracefully accepted or donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion (St. Anthony) Branch # 17 or the United Church Cemetery Fund (St. Anthony). Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road, Corner Brook. Brig Bay

Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on June 23, 2009, Cora Payne, age 96 years. Leaving to mourn sister Ursula (Bill) Chambers; sisters-in-law Stella, Olive and Anita, and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas Payne, parents James and Rose Hannah Samson, brothers Thomas, William, Peter, Donald, James and sister Elsie. Visitation took place at the Church of the Advent in Plum Point, from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2009, with Rev. Kris Gosse officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Brig Bay. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.

MITCHELMORE, GOLDIE R.
Pines Cove

Passed away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on June 27, 2009, Goldie Mitchelmore, age 84 years. Leaving to mourn children Ivy (George), Emanuel (Rosalie), Terrance (Marie), Wavey (Ron), Betty (Cliff), Elvis (Darlene), Boyd (Patsy) and Jeff (Denise); grandchildren Tammy (Ike), Marilyn (Sheldon), Kylie, Zachary, Michael, Ashley, Tina, Denika, Gregory and Amber; great-grandchildren Keisha, Logan, Andrew, Austin and Bryanna; brothers and sisters John Parrill, Roy Parrill and Margaret Manuel. She was predeceased by her husband Levi, daughter Marilyn, granddaughter Sonya, parents John and Elizabeth Parrill, brothers and sisters Albert, Bessie, Virginia and Eliza. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Lower Cove from where the funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday June 30, 2009, with Rev. Smith officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Green Island Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Danielle Galgay, funeral director.
